Dangers of Oversleeping

People who oversleep can experience a number of side effects as their bodies struggle to sync up with the right time. For example, some research has shown that people who oversleep often complain about headaches throughout the day. Researchers speculate getting too much sleep has an effect on certain neurotransmitters in the brain, especially serotonin. Other potential side effects of oversleeping include lower back pain, stroke, diabetes, and heart disease.

Whole world is in danger, since the whole world is asleep.........

Getting back to topic,.. I find too much sleep quite damaging. It eats into a lot of your energies and I can end up feeling quite drained.  On the other hand, I think that studies should consider other variables such as quality of sleep and environmental factors.  I'm a firm believer that EMF's (electromagnetic forces)from appliances, gadgets and especially Wi-Fi .. have negative influences on sleep. Turn these off :)

I've never looked into it much, but I also believe that for spirituality, you need exposure to full spectrum of direct sunlight(sun gazing) and complete darkness at sleep time. Both of these have been proven to stimulate pineal gland.

True. We should also look at our quality of sleep.

Quality of sleep is of utmost importance.

Good nutrition, Exercise, and Meditation improve quality of sleep.

Light and Darkness works with the Melanin in our eyes to create a rhythm of waking and sleeping cycles.

In old times, we depended on natural day and night cycles to set a good rhythm.

Modern techonology such as screens and lights, can mess with that. Thus it is important to create a dark room before and during sleep.
