also why would the Guru of the Sikhs let a kaam filled woman who did mega beadhbi live of a pension of 40,000 a year.. does this mean its worth being slutty as you get paid if you say sorry? i think we must all be aware that forums are a community based facility which have a vast range of users all stemming from different backgrounds and more importantly different experiences and understandings.

Not everyone here is an Ustad and not everyone here is just the average joe sikh who is unlearned in languages as well as being a great sikh scholar.

So maybe we should appreciate these differences instead of accusing those who may have misunderstood or not understood of being police force or close minded, after all a mind can only open through discourse not closed doors.

Im against misrepresentation as well as stupidly drawing for insult, however the renditions of Guru Nanak at Baba Atal are not even correctly proportioned, the heads are much larger then the body implies and artistically they are very simple infact almost cartoony, is that not insulting?

sure if you want to do something authentic and historical then spend the time researching it, if you are making a simple animation aimed at 5 year olds then do you think they will appreciate or even understand the accurate renditions of Guru Ji, also whose to say they are accurate? Sikh scholars cant agree on whats bani whats not hell knows how they will accept whats Guru Jis form.

Art is art it shouldnt be accurate as it never can be. it shouldnt be offensive and it shouldnt misrepresent but as with everything else it depends on purpose.

To elaborate on the above point, I sat in a life drawing class for around a month, this involved drawing someone who sat infront of me totally in the nude. Sometimes it was an old lady other times a young lady and unfortunatly for me most of the time fat ugly hair men.

Question is was I being artistic or perverted attended this class? Drawing nude women is that art or porn? According to some of the Panthic police crew I was a womanizing pervert and couldnt control my kaam, I should have said to the women please lady do not feel you have to sit here naked put on some clothes and I will draw you like that, others felt I should have walked out, others called me gay for drawing men in the nude.

But some realised its just all about the intentions and purpose just like everything else in life.

The English versions of Bani are not there to misrepresent or misguide (unfortunately they will as translations are only as accurate as the translater) yet without them many people would feel even more disassociated to sikhi and maharaj, unable to understand or even try to grasp Gurbani.

I follow the religion of God, which is not bound by peoples traditions etc in that case a universal religion would imply universal marriage rights.. meaning even if an alien came along and believed in akaal purakh to some extent then I guess I could marry them ?

However marriage is different in all religions and beliefs, some involve polygomy others dont, some dont care others do, some imply that marriage is the merging of two souls and is sacred, others imply its an evil thing and shouldnt be done if you wish to acheive a high level of spiritual awakening or whatever.

So marrying outside of religion can become confusing as each has different prespective of what marriage is. If you decide to find a common ground then you have already decided to let religion be put aside and try to make a hybrid marriage so that is neither inside a particular religion or outside, so it becomes a new thing.

then again maybe religion is too influenced by social practices and traditions, influenced by one another integrated to such an extent that we can not neglect social practices and traditions of a community within a religion. We are all aware of social restrcition to marriage outside of your own community.

I was gonna start another thread but cant be bothered so just gonna place my little message here..

I would just like to say thank you.. to everyone in the world,. Sikhi makes me feel warm inside Im soo happy and lucky to have such a wonderful diverse family not just the sikhs but all creation the apes the dino sores. all these wonderful things ever created or yet to be created.. Its just lovely and amazing that at this moment in time according to the hukam of the true beloved lord I am here to experience and engange and dance in all this glory and wonder, who cares why its here or how, who cares about purpose I dont know what the purpose of grass is.. but its fun too see it make a brown grey earth green and colourful.. maybe dinosaurs and apes are as simple as grass maybe they are more I dont know.. but im just feeling all loved and warm inside..
