  1. About Coronavirus This is from a doctor in Hong Kong who consulted with his friend (who currently works on SARS prevention research) on some effective ways to prevent the Coronavirus. Doctor's advice about coronavirus: 1. It is pretty large in size (cell is about 400-500nm diameter), so any normal mask (not just the N95 feature) should be able to filter it out. However, when someone who's infected sneezes in front of you, it will take a great 3 meters (about 10 feet) before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne. 2. When the virus drops on metal surface, it will live for at least 12 hours. So remember if you come in contact with any metal surface, wash your hands with soap thoroughly. 3. The virus can remain active on fabric for 6-12 hours. Normal laundry detergent should kill the virus. For winter clothing that does not require daily washing, you can put it out under the sun to kill the virus. About the symptoms of the pneumonia caused by Coronavirus: 1. It will first infect the throat, so the throat will have the dry sore throat feeling which will last for 3 to 4 days 2. Then the virus will blend into the nasal fluid and drips into the trachea and enter the lungs, causing pneumonia. This process will take 5 to 6 days. 3. With pneumonia, comes high fever and difficulty in breathing. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You will feel like you are drowning in water. It's important to go seek immediate medical attention if you feel like this. About prevention: 1. The most common way of getting infected is by touching things in public, so you must wash your hands frequently. The virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 mins, but a lot can happen in those 5-10 mins (you can rub your eyes or pick your nose unwittingly). 2. Aside from washing your hands frequently, you can gargle with Betadine Sore Throat Gargle to eliminate or minimize the germs while they are still in your throat (before dripping down to your lungs). Folks, take extra care and drink plenty of water.

  4. A Monk of the Ramakrishna Mission was being interviewed by a journalist from NY.... The journalist started interviewing the Monk as planned earlier. Journalist - "Sir, in your last lecture, you told us about "Contact" and "Connection." It's really confusing. Can you explain?" The Monk smiled and apparently deviating from the question asked the journalist: "Are you from New York?" Journalist: "Yeah..." Monk: "Who are there at home?" The Journalist felt that the Monk was trying to avoid answering his question since this was a very personal and unwarranted question. Yet the journalist said: "Mother had expired. Father is there. Three brothers and one sister. All married..." The Monk, with a smile on his face, asked again: "Do you talk to your father?" The journalist looked visibly annoyed... The Monk: "When did you talk to him last?" The journalist, supressing his annoyance said: "May be a month ago." The Monk: "Do you brothers and sisters meet often? When did you meet last as a family gathering?" At this point, sweat appeared on the forehead of the journalist. It seemed that the Monk was interviewing the Journalist. With a sigh, the Journalist said: "We met last at Christmas two years ago." The Monk: "How many days did you all stay together?" The Journalist (wiping the sweat on his brow) said: "Three days..." Monk: "How much time did you spend with your Father, sitting right beside him?" The journalist looking perplexed and embarassed and started scribbling something on a paper... The Monk: "Did you have breakfast, lunch or dinner together? Did you ask how he was? Did you ask how his days are passing after your mother's death?" Drops of tears started to flow from the eyes of the journalist. The Monk held the hand of the journalist and said: "Don't be embrassed, upset or sad. I am sorry if I have hurt you unknowingly... But this is basically the answer to your question about "Contact and Connection ." You have 'Contact' with your father but you don't have 'Connection' with him. You are not connected to him. Connection is between heart and heart... Sitting together, sharing meals and caring for each other, touching, shaking hands, having eye contact, spending some time together... All your brothers and sisters have 'Contact' but no 'Connection' with each other..." The journalist wiped his eyes and said : "Thanks for teaching me a fine and unforgettable lesson." This is the reality today. Whether at home or in the society, everybody has lots of contacts but there is no connection. Everybody is busy in his or her own world. ... Let us not maintain just "Contacts" but let us remain "Connected." Caring, Sharing and Spending time with all our dear ones. The Monk was none other than Swami Vivekananda.

  6. I love this analogy When GOD wanted to create the fish, HE spoke to the sea, when GOD wanted to create the trees, HE spoke to the earth but when GOD wanted to create Man, HE spoke to Himself. Then GOD said, “Let US make Man in Our image, according to Our likeness. If you Take a fish out of the water, it will die and when you take a tree off the ground, it will also die. Similarly, when Man is disconnected from GOD, he dies. GOD is our natural environment. We were created to live in HIS presence. We must be connected to HIM because only in HIM there is Life. STAY CONNECTED TO God. Remember... GOD without Man is still GOD but Man without GOD is Nothing.
  7. Question 12: Guru Jee, I am a bit confused, for I hear people say that all past noble and warriors who sacrificed their lives, are there as such in His court, is it true? Guru Jee: ਇਹੁ ਅਰੁ ਓਹੁ ਜਬ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਬ ਮਿਲਤ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੩੮॥ Eihu Ar Ouhu Jab Milai Thab Milath N Jaanai Koe ||38|| When this soul and that Lord are blended, then, having been blended, they cannot be known separately. So, all that you have heard is agyanta which creates doubts in you. * Waheguru is One, when anybody returns there into Him, becomes one Him without any distinction. O Nanak, the hunger of the devotees is to praise You; the True Name is their only support.

P.S: now we may ask, what is it to praise Him? Is it to glorify Him with His many virtues?

This may be a type of praise, but the real praise to which Guru Jee is pointing us to look for, is to ceaselessly call upon His sweet Name, for this is what He most likes.

He doesn't want big words from us, yet to chant His sacred Nam.

In this respect the Bani tells us: Prabh ka Simran, Har gun Bani.

The Simran of the Lord Waheguru, is to sing the song of His praises.
