Has anyone tried to segment there sleep. Example

    8pm-12am : Sleep

    12am-X am : Amrit Vela

    Xam - 8:00am : Sleep

    8am : Goto work.

When I was doing regular Amrit Vela I used to do something similar...got to sleep about 10/11pm...wake up for 2am/3am....meditate about 1-2 hours(not paying attention to timing myself...it just varied on how tired/alert I felt)...then I would go back to sleep for 2 hours.

I used to do Simran at various times of the day...nothing compared for me to the Simran in the early hours...that's where Simran blew my mind literally.

For a couple of years i.ve strayed away...but trying now to start a similar daily routine.

  2. Sikhphilosophy.net - rise and fall

Having been a member of the above forum for almost 6 years...do then suddenly get blocked without any notification or reason provided...left me slightly concerned at what has happened to what was one a great forum.

A few years ago...the forum was full of souls yearning to share experiences...members diving in and taking the journey described by our beloved Guru Ji...
but one by one, everyone started to disappear...members getting blocked...members being targeted for wanting to discuss Simran...the inner journey...a journey of self transformation and truth realization.

a Small admin group...Aman Singh, Tejwant Singh, Harry Haller ... latching onto members as soon as they mention the words Simran...or anything even remotely Mystic...
one by one, sucking the energy out of the member...

Such a shame for what was once a great forum....a forum that was open to views and discussion...but now just occupied by a small handful...

i have emailed the admin several times to ask why i was blocked....no reply...

i created another email address, created a thread asking why i was blocked...only to realize my new account was then blocked, and my thread deleted...

i contacted by email other members who often share their vision of this inner journey...only to realize they have also been blocked...

I'm going to play devils advocate on this one and may be very wrong as it is just my personal opinion based on my understanding so far.

I think these types of sayings are generally given to encourage people to only think positive thoughts and stop being negative. If there are such clever people who are able to make such definitive statements and have such divine knowledge that this happens. Then surely all they would have to do is for the whole 24 hours keep one persistent thought for what ever they desired, whether this be maya, spiritual or salvation based.

I recently heard a more believable explanation which is due to the power of pure focused mind. Why is it for an average person do the thoughts they have not always come true? Reason given was that our minds are weak due to large number of thoughts a person takes and there is also a lack of purity and focus in these thoughts. When a person walking on the spiritual path practices abhyaas and learns to slowly still the mind over a period of time then the mind's power increases. In this time the person also learns to build more one pointed focus and attention with the power of thought and mind. After some time it is like using a bow and arrow where by that person fires only one arrow with a clean, focused, pure mind rather than firing a million weak unfocused shots. When this happens it is said it will surely hit the target. The mind is a very powerful tool and is said to be jyot saroop and drop from the Ocean. It came from the ocean of Waheguru so also carries some of the same abilities. It however is drowning in maya so loses its power.

It is further said that as one progresses towards this purity and state of mind, the original desire will surely diminish and the peace one feels at that stage supersedes all other desire and wants. When the mind reaches that pure avasta asking for anything other than for it to remain is like throwing mud upon oneself so that they may drown again just after they have cleaned themselves and reached that blissful state.

its a tough one, trying to understand this intellectually...

the mind i believe really has unlimited capabilities...but when its being tormented by a zillion thoughts it is not in a pure enough state to hear and see the 'sign's of Wahegurus existence...

just like when we are busy during the day, thinking about work, worries etc....we don;t really feel our own existence...then when we start to meditate or sit quietly...boom...we can hear our hearts beat...our pulse..some ringing in the ear...we're now aware of so much of ourselves in that state...and through a quiet focussed mind...we can see and hear the existence of waheguru...

personally i think the Mind is not the drop from the ocean...when we hear Guru Ji, taking to His mind saying "oh my mind," do this and do that...something beyond the level of the mind is referencing the mind....which is the drop from the ocean...

and from reading accounts from saints and Guru Ji...it is at this stage we realise the drop isn't really the drop...and there is only the ocean...only waheguru..

  4. There is so much different stuff about colours and lights in meditation that it can get quite confusing.

My own understanding and little conclusions are that all the colours of spectrum will come and go as part of the kundalini process.

The idea is to just let them pass and not stop, or just pass through them as if you are going through different coloured tunnels. Think of Gurmantar as the driving force taking you through and hold on to the this.

If you do this and hold gurmantar, then most of these should pass through quite quickly(days/weeks) but when you get to purple/violet...it should get a little calmer and steady.

I also find that if i am very dedicated with my Simran, and my longing is strong and intense...that the purple/violet turns to white...and the more Simran i do, the more focus on Gurmanter, the white just becomes more brighter and intense day by day until it fills my minds eye..

and then if i miss simran for a few days, or get pulled back into Maya, the brightness reduces.

  5. also, include some listening to shabad kirtan...any particular shabads that inspire you, shabads that detail and portray a longing to meet waheguru...

basically anything that helps you get into that zone of feeling some longing, or love...i think this longing, powering the methods above is a sure way of success :)

    god bless your journey

  6. I have a question.. when u get more spiritual does itz normal to have sudden outbursts of emotions.. sometimes u feel thr is nothing in this world.. u r searching eternal peace .. it get really hard to maintain pace in ur job or normal life.. ?? u can't give ur 100% in ur job.. coz ur heart is somwhere else

it gets a little easier my friend...

this feeling used to hit me very hard in the past...not being interested in the world that much..

but you will get used to it...in fact you will get better with your interaction with the world because a new 'you' is being born, one that will act and behave better, purer, and truthfully...

  7. SatShriAkal Sat Veerji

    same here...

    SatShriAkal ji

From what i remember of when i first started to do simran \ meditation daily...

the blue \ purple light is the beginning of the activation of your inner eye....its a huge blessing...
complete opening takes time, effort, regular simran...preferably during Amrit Vela, if not anytime is good...and you will see changes to what you see with your inner eye...

the more you fight the Ego, desire, greed, anger and lust in your daily actions and replace with Sat Karams, and continue to do your simran...the more the light become brighter and brighter...this is the light of your soul...or waheguru...will eventually turn very bright white..which is a good sign.

    keep it up guys... :)

  8. i am going to start taking photos of my physique instead of checking weight...and just comparing the photo's every 2 weeks..

i think that might give me a better indication of my progress...especially looking at whether i am retaining my muscle mass whilst i lose fat...retaining muscle mass is important when losing weight...

Thanks, I will try some of that...

I use very similar techniques energy transfer for my own 'self-spiritual healing' quite often because I have multiple spinal injuries,.. and my left side is often quite troublesome.

What you say makes perfect sense to me as long as someone has the patience and belief to persevere.

It doesn't actually work that way because we lose huge amounts of fluid weight first, which is through sweat, water loss and energy burned from glycogen/fat stores...People often forget that all muscles and organs of body contain water.

I have often weighed myself before and after 400+calorie workout....and I usually lose 2lb's+.. which is nearly 1kg (2.2lb=1kg) quite easily.

to persevere is the key i think...

i've starting doing my visualization whilst i lie in bed before i fall asleep...

and usual amrit vela simran when i wake up in the early hours.

  9. Not being a killjoy.....but his stuff in this vid seems quite scattered.

Seriously guys,.... read..learn... but don't always jump in to buy it.....try experience yourself.>>Stick to gurmat and I personally wouldn't recommend you buy everything he says in the above video...................Maybe that's what he experienced and witnessed-doesn't mean that gurmat results will be the same.

i agree, you wouldn't read someone's experiences of a roller coaster then sit on the roller coaster yourself expecting to have similar experience to that person..

yes some things will be similar...but others won;t...

i used to spend hours reading and researching on stuff like this...but the explorer in you gets on a high when you step into the unknown and have no prior mental inclination as to what might happen...the awe is experienced with a free and open mind...and you're easily taken in by it

whereas if we keep reading what others think or experienced...a small part of us is always wondering when that event/experience will take place whilst we do simran...our focus gets diverted...

i use this kinds of videos as a bit of inspiration to just get going and make the effort :)

    god bless

  10. wow what a great video.

The last bit was kind of sad , when the astral body was trying to latch onto the dead physical body but could not do it. I am genuinely scared, what is going to happen to me,

its sad because we have attachment to body...a feeling during life that we cannot live without it..

believe me, your fear of things like this will slowly go away...the more you do Simran. Fearlessness will start to develop within you the more you start to realise that you are so much more than your physical body...your capabilities are way beyond the limits of your body

    god bless

  11.

yes, stretch...remain supple...and relaxed..that's the best thing for people our age....on a deeper level, the more suple and relaxed the body, the better our life force energy can circulate the body...

have you ever had a stressfull day...then rubbed the back of your neck...that amazing tingling sensation that rushes to your head and alleviates the stress of a stiffened neck...that's your energy flow...

work with your own body weight. i have tried every trick in the book in my life to lose weight...build muscle...

for losing weight don;t believe all these one trick methods...you will only lose weight if you burn more calories than you put into your mouth :)

eat small regular servings of meals...mixed and varied food...do NOT starve yourself...thats is the worst thing to do...your body needs to know that it will be getting food.

then burn 300-400 calories a day if you can with exercise...that is about 40 minutes of exercise...a fast walk...walking up and down stairs...a jog...and what i have found is...for example if you are jogging...do not do same speed and intensity for the whole time...vary it...so maybe 5 minutes easy level..then 1 minute faster level...then back to easy level...then back up a bit...then maybe a sprint for 100 meters....this helps a lot with your overall fitness and sharpness..

i am trying to lose weight as we speak...i have spent two weeks burning 300-400 calories atleast 5 days of the week...and i have lost 3-4KG already...

so burn those calories and eat regularly but smaller servings and healthier servings and you have a winning formula..

look at videos on youtube...for doing stretches..then do the stretches one day...take one day of, then do again...on my wedding day i had the worst pain sat down for a couple of hours during the Gurdwara ceremony :) ..since i started doing stretches, i can now sit cross legged without any back pain or leg pain..

hope this help my good friend

    Wow!!

I gotta look into that stuff..............Chi..ki....prana....meridians....all the same thing>same energy.

Give us some details or techniques used in visualising/imagining that are used.

i will send you some links lucky ji...

i really recommend tai chi and chi-kung my friend...it goes well with your Simran and meditation practice that your also do.

if you do tai chi and chi-kung regularly, you will start to feel the energy flowing around your feet...palms of hands...top of head etc in your movements...its pretty cool.

if your meridians are already pretty open then your chi will flow quite easily to wherever you put your mind and attention..for example...i am right this second focussing on my right hand...within seconds it is tingling...like ants crawling over it....thats the chi :)

so when you are visualizing something like...lifting a dumbbell, then the chi is circulating in that area...and then when you do the actual exercise it should feel a little easier than the last time you did it...small changes but over the course of a year big changes...and you will not have to go through what bodybuilders go through...the bruised, tense, torn muscle pain for several days.

just do a few sets throughout the day, stopping 1 rep before muscle failure (its the muscle failure that gives your sore arms the next day)...and when you do the sets...really focus with your mind on what you're doing or intending to do...visualise also whilst you're doing it...where the weight needs to go...the path it needs to follow..etc etc...it really works...well it did for me...stronger than i have ever been

i used to think back in the days following an intense workout...i couldnt even move my arms...they were that sore the following day. i thought what would happen if someone attacked me right now...i wouldn;t even be able to defend myself due to the soreness...so whats the point :)

need to be sharp, focussed and have all your strength ready when it is required.

    God bless..

    I understand,,thank you very much .

to link my replies back to your question of shabad and strength...

i often repeat 'waheguru' or 'satnaam' in mind when i exercise...lifting weights or running or anything...visualize what your goals are..do ardaas asking for his support and keep Him on mind whilst doing it...if you believe it, it will happen and God will help.

    God Bless

  12. because of my tai chi martial arts practice...i have to remain supple...flexible...to allow energy movement through the martial arts movements..

the first thing my taichi Sufi said....quit doing the usual mainstream body building...strength training...its all physical...and will stiffen you up...and affect chi flow

so now i do a lot of mediation on movements...i imagine doing bicep curls...pull ups...

then i follow it up with no more than 3 sets of the exercise spaced throughout the day...rather than taking my muscle to failure...i concentrate on my nervous system....improving the signal from mind to muscle...refining it.

i stop 1 rep short of failure for each of the sets...the day after my muscles are never fatigued...i take a day break and then follow up the same routine for the same muscle group.

i can lift now, more than i ever did...i used to be at the gym 4 days a week...doing drop sets, all sorts of methods...protein shakes...supplements...and then resting a lot to recover...

    but now i have a vegetarina diet...small meals...don;t eat more than 1400-1600 calories a day....not a single protein shake...

muscles are never fatigued...they are always ready to be fully utilized...supple..relaxed///but strength is maximum when needed.

i wish i had started training like this many years back.

    i'm 36 years old now...5"7....slim...not overly muscular....yet when i curl 26kg dumbbell...people wonder how i do it...cus i'm half their size.

my max bench press at my physical peak when training the conventional way was 90kg...i now do 110kg...and increasing all the time..

best part of training this way is my mind is always stress free...the conventional way of training overstressed your nervous system...if it doesn't recover before your next session, its a downward spiral...need to be focussed at all time...sharp...and ready for anything..

another thing i noticed was if i don't train for several weeks...i don;t lose strength//because my strength comes from my nervous system..the signal from mind to muscle...not just muscle alone... whereas when i trained the usual way...i would lose muscle and strength pretty quickly the moment i stopped working out.

  13. How is this done exactly? You use the tip of your tongue to apply gentle presure to the roof of the mouth?

    it's not really a technique...

i mean....i'm actually doing it now (tongue touching roof of mouth) whilst i'm breathing and typing this message sat at my office desk...

it just seems natural and no real effort...no tensing.

close your mouth now....start breathing through your nose... whats your tongue doing when relaxed? is it touching the bottom of your mouth, hovering in between or touching the top? mine just automatically touches and spreads over the top.

thats all that is required....a connection. like lucky ji said, it just completes the circuit so that there is a fully connected path from bottom to top, than back down again..

there musn't be any tension in what you do...relaxation helps the energy flow.

i learn tai chi....same principle...body needs to be firm but completely relaxed...eventually you start to feel the energy flow..

  14. Breath in and out through the mouth and mental simran ?

    OK I'll try that.

    try it for a while...

i sometimes start with verbal simran...listening to the sound of the vibration...then eventually i just go into silent simran in my mind...

sometimes with mouth open...othertimes breathing through my nose only and my tongue touching the roof of my mouth...apparently that helps with the energy flow..

most important is to just relax....focus on gurmanter...eventually your simran will just evolve...

  15. until recently...i used to have vibrations pretty much every few minutes during Simran...mainly exploding from heart area outwards into rest of the body...other times its up the spine, getting higher and higher....recently i have not been getting any at all...

a couple of years ago...during one amrit vela session...the vbrations got more intense....deeper and stronger with each occurrence until it was so overwhelming that i felt like i was shot up into the air with arms and legs outstretched...wave after wave like a train going over me...i could do nothing but surrender to that power...it was the most powerful thing i have ever experienced...the force was imense that i felt i was going to explode into a million particles :) but not in a fearful way

when it subsided, i found i was still sat on the sofa, nice n calm..hands folded...like nothing had happened to me....physically..

nowadays i just enjoy simran so much that i don't care to understand the ins and outs, terms, theories or anything...i just say to waheguru...all is in your hands...you do with me as you please.

    god bless

  16. Good Luck SatKirin_kaur on this en-devour of yours :)

A very highly spiritual soul i once met told me the best way to celebrate the lives of the Guru Ji's bhagats, brahmgianis, sikhs etc is to do what Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji says...

There is a shabad that says mere reading is of no use without contemplation...i will try and find it for you. I think if you spent the 24 hours contemplating japji sahib Baba Deep Singh Ji will be overjoyed :)

  17. Its a difficult one because during the day if you have a job that requires mental effort you actively engage the mind. Then for simran your expected to be able to switch it off like the press of a button.

That's where amrit vela Simran comes into its own...

those early hours have a different energy about them....the mind has been somewhat cooled after a few hours of sleep...there is not a single sound in the air.....just you...your mind....and your Guru.

still a struggle with the mind, but i feel a greater help from Guru Ji during these hours....and i think i am more receptive to that help with the silence of sound, and silence of mind..

  18. What is most important? i would Say Love...

the yearning that develops within...a sign of our love towards Him...or is it His love activating our heart and thus all His doing? :)

without love how can one wake up in the early hours to contemplate Him? when it is so much easier just to lay in a cosy bed and enjoy your sleep.

who makes all this happen? even the effort...is it all Him...when the time is right for us to awaken to the Truth is it Him that makes it all happen :)

  19. Thank you everyone for the advise. I will keep them in mind.

My dilemma is that I am in a situation where I am not liking any of the worldly things but on the other hand I am not able to fully devote myself. I am standing nowhere and I dont know how to get out of it. Only thing I can think of is Ardaas and wait.

seems like you are devoting yourself well enough, and not liking worldly things is a symptom of this journey...it happened to me...still happening to me :) ... yet we still need to participate in this world. and that's where seva comes in...

think of your job as seva...serve people...do your work honestly....share some of the earnings...anything...will make you feel very alive again...but in spiritual way..then worldly life doesn't seem so negative.
