  1. Arth given in Fareedkot wala teeka: Quote Unquote [1] [1] - http://www.srigranth.org/servlet/gurbani.gurbani?Action=Page&Param=1243&g=1&h=1&r=1&t=1&p=0&fb=0&k=2 Arth of that tuk - "Men are under women (In Kaljug)" Bhul chuk maaf
  2. Bro, ਸਈਆਦ also means a follower. Then, the arth of that tuk would be: " Women have become advisors and men have become followers" Bhul chuk maaf
  3. The below is from another topic, which was locked. Important note: There might be many more arths of the below verses. Let's try to discuss the arth, based on the context and the uthanka. Context - Signs of Kaljug. Uthanka - Narrated to Sidhs Women have become advisors, and men have become hunters. - ਸਈਆਦ also means Moorakh (fool) or Mureed (follower) Please listen to Gyani jee (after 23.00 min): http://www.gurbaniupdesh.org/multimedia/04-Katha/13-Giani Thakur Singh Ji (Patiala Wale)/Katha Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji/CD13(Ang1191-1353)/1083-Ang-1241-Pankti-09.mp3 According to the context (Parikaran), this tuk is talking about the negative signs in Kaljug, as it is evident from the other tuks in the Mahalla. Therefore, one can safely conclude that women being advisers, is not considered a great idea in Sikhism. Amardeep Paaji had the following concern: "Mate stop being a freak. So are you saying that men being hunters is wrong in kalyug as hunting should be done by women?" Let's look at, all the other tuks of this Mahalla Women have become advisors, and men have become fools. Humility, self-control and purity have run away; people eat the uneatable, forbidden food. Modesty has left her home, and honor has gone away with her It is very clear that all tuks of the Mahalla are talking about the negative events that will take place in Kaljug. If context is taken into account, women being advisors, will have to be categorized as a bad sign in Kaljug. If anyone else can provide more insight into these verses, it would be great. Bhul chuk maaf
  4. The below tool (counter) can be very helpful, while doing jaap. It is portable. One can also use the counter on your smartphone, but there is a chance that one can accidentally click on the reset button. Therefore, manual counter (shown below) would be a better choice to use for jaap. Bhul chuk maaf
  5. Sep.28, 2015 - Pooranmashi (Full Moon Night) - Dhan Guru Nanak

    1. mahanpaapi

      mahanpaapi

      Dhan Guru Nanak Tuhi Nirankaar.

  6. Other points to consider: - Aurengzeb was, most likely aware that Satguru jee was not an ordinary person. - Mughal commanders had defected to Satguru jee. - Previous defeats, by Satguru jee. Considering the above points, it should not be surprising that Aurengzeb would have mobilized a very large army to capture Satguru jee. Bhul chuk maaf
  7. Another tuk. This was mentioned by Gyani Ranjit Singh jee, in the video posted on this forum. You may enjoy the pleasures of hundreds of thousands of women, and rule the nine continents of the world. Bhul chuk maaf
1. Creator 2. Scolder of evil people 3. Holder of people 4. Carrier of devotees Dhan Guru Nanak........Toon Hee Nirankar. Bhul chuk maaf
1. Hard to attain 2. Non-Human Dhan Guru Nanak........Toon Hee Nirankar. Bhul chuk maaf
  10. Excellent point brother. When a doctor informs someone that he/she needs a urgent surgery done for an illness. How many people on this forum will get a Sri Akhand paath done to cure it, rather than going for the surgery? After all, God can do the surgery for you or cure you, without the help of any medium. If this happens to me (Maharaaj save me), Daas is definitely going for the surgery, as I don't have 100% faith in God. Daas went to university for a degree. Why? -- did not have complete faith in God. Daas applied for jobs. Why? - did not have complete faith in God. Daas has money in his account. Why? - don't have complete faith in God. Daas went to a doctor for blood/urine test. Why? - did not have complete faith in God. Daas wants his name on his parent's will. Why? - don't have complete faith in God. Daas went for a surgery in the past. Why? - did not have complete faith in God. It is very very very easy to talk like a Brahamgyani, but very hard to walk the talk. Bhul chuk maaf
  11. Bro, the keyword above is "All", which includes animals, insects, plants, etc. If God exists in all, why don't we allow animals to come into Gurudwaras? If God exists in all, then why don't we give Amrit (Khanday wala) to animals? It is easy for a person like me to say that God exists in all, but to actually start seeing God as omnipresent, takes tremendous amounts of hard work. So why did God make males and females different? Do you know that there are major differences between male and female brains? Bro, we cannot ignore modern Science, Human Psychology, Sociology, etc. Sikhism is not against science. Once a person reaches Brahamgyan, then the situation is different. A person like me cannot talk like a Brahamgyani, when my spiritual state is very very low. Bhul chuk maaf
  12. Bro, there is a possibility that 1 million was not sent, in one go. We have to take into account the hundreds of thousands that were being killed by Satguru jee and his Singhs. Another possibility is that, not the entire contingent of 1 million attacked Satguru jee at Chamkaur. Some troops might have been placed to cordon off the city to prevent escape of any Singh and in other areas. Even, during 1984 attack on the Golden temple, not all forces were attacking at Amritsar. Troops were deployed to other parts of Punjab too. Bhul chuk maaf
  13. Bro, it might not say in Sri Lavan Sahib jee to view husbands as demi-Gods, but there is another tuk which clearly states the women are suppose to look at her husband, as a Demi-God. This does not mean that the woman is a servant. For example - Suppose there are two brothers. The younger brother respects his elder brother as a demi-God. Does that mean that the younger brother is his servant? In Sikhism, mother is considered to the first guru of the child. Does that mean, she is equal to SSGGSJ? Bhul chuk maaf
  14. Bro, we have to look at the context of the shabad. It is talking about negative signs of Kaljug. ਸਈਆਦ also means a fool. Another translation - "Men have become fools". Bhul chuk maaf
  15. Salaam Paaji, Sikhism does not preach hatred against any religion. Sikhs are suppose to respect all saints and prophets, including Prophet Muhammad and Prophet Ali. Some interesting facts: - First master (Satguru Nanak Dev jee Maharaaj) had a Muslim companion, by the name of Baba Mardana jee, who stayed with him for many many years. - One of the first male devotees of first master was a Muslim landlord, by the name of Baba Rai Bulaar Bhatti. - The foundation stone of Golden temple (most sacred shrine for Sikhs) was laid by a Muslim saint by the name of Hazrat Main Mir Saab. - In addition to Sheikh Baba Farid jee Maharaaj, verses of another Muslim saint, by the name of Baba Sain jee Maharaaj are also included in SSGGSJ (Guru Granth Sahib jee). - Baba Kabir jee Maharaaj, even though a Hindu by birth, was raised by Muslim parents. His verses are also included in SSGGSJ (Guru Granth Sahib jee). - Sayed Khan saab and Sayed Baig saab (two Mughal commanders) defected from the Mughal army, to join forces with Sikhs against the Mughal government. - Sixth master (Satguru Hargobind saab jee) gave Sardari of an area to a Muslim by the name of Hasan Khan. - Tenth master (Satguru Gobind Singh saab jee) did not fight battles, only against Mughals. Battles were fought against hill chiefs (who were so-called Hindus) too. In addition to that, Satguru jee gave strict punishments to corrupt Sikh (so-called) priests. In short, Satguru jee's battles were against evil men, irrespective of their religion. - Tenth master told Nabi Khan saab and Ghani Khan saab, two Muslim Pathan brothers that they were more dear to him, than his own sons. - There was another Muslim Pathan who had great love for tenth master, who wanted to join the Sikh army, but it was too late by that time. Please note: It is possible that some people on this forum might use offensive language against or insult Islam. Please do not pay attention to those people. Bhul chuk maaf
  16. Context - Sign of Kaljug. Women have become advisors, and men have become hunters. Bhul chuk maaf
  17. Bro, there is a Gurbani tuk which talks about women becoming advisers which results (most likely) in negative outcome. Gurparsaad, will try to find more details about it. Bhul chuk maaf
  18. Women in military are tough as they are given that sort of training. Also, we have to remember that men, on average, in military will be more tougher and stronger than women. We cannot take one occupation and generalize it for all other women. Most likely, on average, men are more tougher, stronger, emotional stable, handle stress better, make better decisions, etc, than women. Bhul chuk maaf
  19. Bro, first master refused to take Lavan around fire. Maharaaj wrote mool mantar on some item and Master, along with Mata Sulakhani jee did lavan of that item. Bhul chuk maaf
  20. Great idea brother. Please do try to get hold of some Gyanis from Bhindran Taksal, if possible. Bhul chuk maaf
Someone may give away horses and elephants, or women on their beds, or land; he may give such gifts over and over again. Bhul chuk maaf
  22. Quote The news had also reached that a large contingent was coming to reinforce the imperial army already in action. Unquote [1] [1] - Guru Gobind Singh Re-Told Those 700 people were reinforcements. Are there any other historical sources, that mention about numbers? Why would Satguru jee mention 1 milllion in Gurbani, if their numbers were in thousands? Maharaaj could have used the term "Hazaar" (thousand) instead of "Lak". Even the word "Hazaar" is a Farsi word. Maharaaj would never exaggerate the numbers or provide incorrect information. Bhul chuk maaf
  23. Sher jee, it mentions the word "reinforcement". What about the existing forces, which were pursuing Maharaaj? Bhul chuk maaf
  24. Let's try to understand, what holding a Palla means, in light of Gurbani. Please have a look, at the below verses: ਜਾ ਕੋ ਰੇ ਕਰਮੁ ਭਲਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ਸੰਤ ਪਲਾ ਤਿਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੇ ਜਮੁ ਸੰਤਾਵੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਨਾ ॥ One who has good karma, grasps the Protection of the hem of the Saint's robe; in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the Messenger of Death cannot threaten him. With the Lord's lotus feet enshrined in his heart, Nanak has tied the Shabad, the Word of the True Guru, to the hem of his robe. He does not enter the cycle of reincarnation ever again; he keeps the One Word of the Shabad tied to the hem of his robe. ||2|| Holding the Palla of a Saint or of Gur-shabad means that one is seeking protection from them and one will follow them. If we hold Palla of Gur-shabad or of a Saint, it would be very absurd to make a claim that we are controlling them. How can a ordinary human control God or a Saint? Therefore, the analogy of person riding a chariot is against Gurmat. Similarly, in an Anand Karaj, the lady has been instructed by the Lord to hold the Palla of her husband and not the other way round. This clearly illustrates that the it is the duty of the husband to protect his wife and for the wife to be a faithful follower. Additionally, according to Sikh ethical values, a Sikh wife is suppose to look at her husband as a demi-God. This further clarifies, what holding a Palla means during Anand Karaj. Bhul chuk maaf
  25. Bro, can you please provide examples of those stories? Most likely, DDT students study Gurbani Vyakaran too. Many tuks in Gurbani have multiple meanings. Not all meanings have to conform with Gurbani Vyakaran. Gurbani cannot be completely confined by parameters such as context (Parikaran), Grammar (Vyakaran), Uthanka (Place of origin), etc. What is wrong with Hindu mat stories? There are references to Hindu stories in Gurbani too. One becomes a better human by listening to them. Even First, Second, Third and Fourth Satgurus were born in Hindu families. Vedas are a good source of knowledge. What is wrong in studying them? Bhul chuk maaf
