  1. Well shouldnt you take it when your ready for it instead of when someone else is telling you to take it? I kinda know what you mean because I dont want to take amrit until I'm ready for it. I read somewhere that we should keep our head covered, does that apply to everyone or have I gotten it wrong?
  2. I was just wondering how many of you have taken amrit and what problems did you face (if any) ? Also say if one hasnt taken amrit yet, and probably wont til a while when they are ready to do so.. in the meantime what can you do to start to that path? Appearance wise, what did you do before you took amrit.. besides the obvious one of not cutting hair ? What was it like..changing your ways? family/friends reactions? the positives? negatives?
  3. What if theres no cloth, shawl, chadar, chunni in sight?
  4. Jamuka pls.. even I dont agree with some of the stuff in Islam but that doesnt mean its a cult. Thats your opinion yeh I understand that, but not everyone is going to view it the way you do. Now bout the topic... I'll probably have an arranged marriage.. ish scares me :| I dont even want it really.. why does a girl always have to get married so early
  5. God has three forms? This almost sounds like Hinduism.. Vishnu Shiva and Brahma :? I'm confused.. someone help :|
  6. So what happens if a really religious, devoted Singh is all outta clean paags..theyre all in the wash and he puts on a cap/hat for the day.. does that mean he will be reborn seven times as a leper? :| (Jus askin since u all like to complicate things )
  7. They work.. but I think more so because you stick it out for your family and just keep thinking maybe tomorrow things will change. Well I dont know but thats how some ppl I know think.
  8. Lol not again :? ...it seems like its the same as his last movie..wutever it was called.. was horrible :|
  9. Whats the big deal about wearing a hat? And anyways Guru Nanak ji cant be 'claimed' by any single religion.. I dont think thats right. Some of you guys take the simpliest things and try to make them so complicated.

  11. :? cuz a person has too many expectations? :? i'm confused
  12. good stuff Vaisakhi diyaa vadhiyaa
  13. and what about the Sikh boys that go around getting drunk, go clubbing and doing any girl they meet? What do you suggest we do with them? Because of course you wouldnt be saying the girls are the only ones in the wrong here... right?
  14. What the hell are you on? I wont lower myself and make personal attacks on you. But except for the quote from Raja Ranjit Singh..the rest of what you wrote is total bs. You seemed to have missed the point of my post but anywayz..who is ignorant and stupid.. only time or then Waheguru can tell. peace.
  15. Gotta agree with PN and lil_princess Theres so much dislike for Muslims on this site. I thought Sikhi was above this. And please dont tell me I dont know about this so I should let others state their opinions, I aint stopping any one... But just curious.. have any of you heard of Sikh guys marrying Muslim girls and the girls converting? I have... shocking isnt it? omg Sikh guys are on a mission to convert Muslim girls  I've seen this same poem like a million times now. Interesting how they forced her to stay in Pakistan and then let her get on the net and write a poem. And yes the only place I've heard this happening is in the uk and its never someone's relative or friend, its always something they heard from so n so. Maybe you all need to educate your girls on Sikhi cuz you sure do make them sound stupid. Of course I'M NOT SAYING that such incidents havent happened. I'm sure there must be a couple of such cases.. and its good to let the public know about it. Just remember You cant judge everyone on the actions of a few. (I remember some of u saying this to PN in his topic about leaving Sikhism..funny you guys dont stand by this statement when it has to do with other religions) Orchids said: Say what?! What are you on?
  16. You guys are just proving what he's said right when you start telling him not to turn to Islam. Shouldnt you all be more concerned about the main reason of why he's turning away from Sikhi. Punjabi N - I know exactly how you feel. If one wants to convert to Christianity or Islam, there is the preist or Imam to guide you, there are other ppl who practice the faith that will support you.. unfortunately this isnt so in Sikhism. Like he said... sure he can read Guru Granth Sahib ji.. but still one needs someone knowledgeable to explain things about the religion to them. PN I know how you feel because I feel like this most of the time too. My family is Sikh, but most of them arent really into it..they go to the gurdwara and pray.. but thats all. I wanted something more, to take the next steps... but theres no one here to guide me either.
  17. Ok erm I dont know much about this but... Wouldnt it all come down to language? In arabic God is "Allah" ... So its mostly related to language innit? Waheguru=God And what the others said above..

Ok that sounded well childish. If you read my whole post then you can clearly see that I said there are things I dont agree with. And Sikhs DO go around saying that they are real Sikhs while other sikhs (ones that cut their hair etc) are not real Sikhs.. this site has plenty examples of that. Most muslims dont go around killing and bombing each other. Thats a very stereotypical view.

I personally admire the unity in Islam, the positives of the hijab, the strong sense of belief in their religion, the experience of Hajj. Course theres things I dont agree with..but there are things about Islam that are very interesting.
  20. BabbarSher - Your right. I'm sorry I assumed something that wasnt there. I guess I got a bit fed up having to defend why I believe what I do. But I'm going to try to answer your questions as best as I can according to my beliefs, and although I do not agree with the marriage issue..I still do have nothing but love and respect for Waheguru and all of our Guru jis.. just I guess its in a different way then others. ^When I read this quote.. I thought, could it maybe mean that both the husband and wife should believe in God but not necessarily in the same way? Could the light mean belief in one God creating all mankind and seeing all ppl equally? You would spiritually connect with someone if their belief was the same as that and so was yours, regardless of religious customs. Because this is what I believe. This is how I would interpret this quote if I read it myself without anyone else's input. ^Of course religions differ. Bhaji.. I never said they didnt, if I did it was my mistake :?
  21. Yeh I cant stand meat anymore...been a vegetarian for 6-7 yrs now. What about products that use animal fats? Like how Muslims wont eat any food or products produced using pig. Is eating products that contain fat from beef or pork or any other animal, alrite? I didnt realise how many products have ingredients from animal skin.. kinda makes me sick :? and even human hair can be used to create an enzyme used in dough ..das gross
  22. erm lol I was just wondering :?
  23. Ello ppl ..ok I didnt know where to post this.. but in Sikhi are there restrictions on food as there are in Islam (halal or not) or Jewism (kosher and nonkosher) ? And if so.. what are the guidelines for that? And I mean besides the egg/meat issue.. I'm already a vegetarian.
