do you think it is right to force religion on ur kids (ie making them wear a pagh etc)? i have friends who had religion forced on them but they ended up like complete dossers and didnt follow religion as they were forced.. on the other handi have had few friends chose sikhi themselves and were not forced.. if u lot have kids, would u make them wear a pagh or literally make them follow ur religion? is it right?

there are so so so sooooo many meaning to karas..i know a few (i read a fantastic book on sikhi once and i wish i could remember the name of it) 1) a kara is round as it represents God...(going round and round and round, non stop...no corners..FOREVER LIVING and WITHOUT LIMIT) 2) Iron of a kara apparantly keeps away bad spirits (apparantly this is what the last Guru had said and also..does any one know the meaning of those karas with beads on them? like when u do simran..? some one told me that its mostly useful for people who have recently taken amrit..(for starters) to remind them to say waheguru every at every breath..(hence at the stroke of each bead)

ok well i know u lot r gonna think this is a weird topic. me and my mates were just having a debate the other day about this. y do white sikhs have to change their FULL name if they convert to sikhism? cant they just add the name 'singh' or 'kaur' to their name? like the 1st 5 panj pyarie's just added singh or kaur? eg, Tony Singh Blair

my parents have always said apparantly sikhs shouldnt wear gold karas ....it should always be steele..is this true? i will find out why when i ask them
