  1. Im sorry if the video disturbed anybody. It disturbed me also. However this is happening and the reason why these are online is so the wider world-wide community realises what is going on, and put a stop to such inhumane and barbaric punishments. Scenes from war come on most television stations, but since we are all desensitised to it we turn a blind eye.
  2. http://rawa.fancymarketing.net/statues2.htm draw your own comparisons................
  3. Please read: http://www.alislam.org/library/links/00000122.html
  4. http://www.tribuneindia.com/2004/20040706/punjab1.htm does anybody know how much 200 to 800 crore would be in dollars or pounds?
  5. The problem at the moment it that all the organisations involved in Sikh Heritage are sitting on the fence, a public conference is needed, and protest against this mis-management. Gurus Kirpa I hope well can all get together to do something.
  6. Vahiguroojikakhalsa Vahiguroojikefateh Jassa Ji please tell us what the Akal Takht hukam was? Just to make it easier for you, there were two, both contradict each other. The first one was that Rag Mala should not be removed and it is Gurbani, See Raag Mala Gurbani Hai, by Dam Dami Taksal. It also has the excommunication of Teja Singh Bhasaur, the head of Panch Khand. He was the Panj Piara of AKJ Bhai Randhir Singh. It also ordered all his (Bhasaurs) books to be returned to the Akal Takht. The Jatha still follows largely a Rahit based on what he wrote. Even the SGPC has changed Chaupai Sahib in light of what he said. For your knowledge the first ang of Maharaj is Jap Ji sahib, I think must of us do read that bani regular, hopefully that now fulfills your criteria for us to debate and research this topic. Also I have never seen any threads that provide graphic evidence from historical sources with photography. If you dont like this topic then dont read it. Vahiguroojikakhalsa Vahiguroojikefateh!!!!!
  7. Vahiguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Vahiguroo Ji Ke Fateh! Dear friends, the attached photograph is of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, that Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, gave to Pir Buddha Shah Ji to do seva of, after his sons were Shaheed. In this Guru Granth Sahib Saroop the beautiful bani of Raag Mala is present as the Bhog. Kamalroop Singh
  8. Vahiguroojikakhalsa Vahiguroojikefateh!! Rag Mala is in all three editions of Guru Granth Sahib. The Kirtarpuri Adi Granth Sahib , the Bhanno Granth Sahib, and the Dam Dami Guru Granth Sahib finalised by Guru Gobind Singh. The Saroops of Maharaj without Rag Mala in are few and far between, mostly in Patiala. This incidently is where the Raag Mala debate started from. The Guru Granth Sahibs written by Baba Deep Singh Ji all have Raag Mala in them. Some of these copies of Guru Granth Sahib Ji are at the Takhts. The head of Hazoor Sahib, in an interview with him, which was recorded by Das in 2000 states this fact. The Guru Granth Sahib and Dasam Granth Sahib scribed by Bhai Mani Singh also has Raag Mala as the Bhog , this is with Mrs Sethi of Hanuman Road, near Bangla Sahib. A Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib from Maharaj Ranjit Singhs own scribes, is in the National Museum Delhi, has Raag Mala as the bhog. There is also one very important Guru Granth Sahib which has the stamp of Dam Dama Sahib on it. This stamp has existed historically for sometime. This Maharaj Saroop is in the U.K as well as other copies of this particular Saroop. The picture attached is from the Guru Granth Sahib from the National Museum. ( I wonder if this was included in this so-called 50 years of research). (This post was re-edited taking into account the very true comment by Shinda Ji, I humbly apologise for not referring to Maharaj in the respectful terms one should use, many apologises to the Sangat)
  9. This is the now completed Akal Takht interior ceiling, which runs around the edges. Instead of painting each fresco, tiles have been used. To some this maybe fine. On a personal note, the work completed there should have represented the Original.
  10. Vahiguroo ji Ka khalsa Vahiguroo Ji ke fateh! That is very sad to hear Amandeep Singh, is there not another way around this? To do the project without that particular individual?
  11. VahigurooJiKaKhalsa VahigurooJiKeFateh!! This argument of preservation is on two levels it seems. Amandeep Singh has hit the nail right on the head. Taking photographs of Fresco's or buildlings is not preservation, however it provides us with a valuable record when there is not alternative solution. This is the sad situation as in many cases this is all we are left with. Keeping the original material is the preferred option, however to preserve original documents, art, builidngs, frescos etc is an expensive business. To preserve them properly with the required techniques is a time consuming process. This is one of the reasons why Karsewaks are keen to get rid of them. As Amandeep Singh points out Ebay is not the way to save Sikh Heritage, however again in many cases it seems to the only way at the moment. No major Sikh Organisation is buying, individuals are taking it on themselves. The important point is we all need to network, and provide a bigger resource. I have told a number of people this but it shows the stupidity of ebay. A dealer in Patiala offered me a a Sikh Artifact for 250 pounds. I did not have the money so I did not buy it. The item was very specific. I then learned it was sold to somebody in the East London area. He then sold this to somebody in the West London area. This was then sold on for many thousands of pounds in Canada. It is a shame. However in this greedy situation what can be done? The dealers are the biggest crooks. By over inflating prices this stops real researchers or Museums buying, even universities in Punjab. Using technology in my opinion is the best way, as it provides a means to record much data at an affordable price. In a situation where year by year Sikh art disappears, or go up in smoke, or is painted over. This means is the quickest, and most applicable. We simply do not have enough Gurmeet Rai's or Majinderpal Kaur's, or the finance to achieve a concrete plan, or the ability of the SGPC to even listen. As far as I know the Smithsonian approached the SGPC and was turned down. In my opinion these people know one thing only, when their own stability of organisation is challenged by the destruction they have caused. When people start asking questions then they will have to change. Last year before I went to meet Guru Tegh Bahadurs family, of the Suraj Mal bloodline at Anandpur Sahib. I was so happy that I would see Guru Gobind Singhs own handsigned Chaupai Sahib. Something that was very important to my work. When I arrived ,I sadly learned two days before that it was stolen. No one as far as I know even copied it. People are not willing to give away originals of such precious documents, but for a price they may give a copy. In an ideal world, a model we should strive for is the preservation that the British Museums and Europeans have achieved, this is an ideal model for Sikh and Punjabi Heritage. The only way this can be achieved is if major organisations pull together, under the SGPC which control the Gurudwarey. Sadly this is not the case.
  12. Vahiguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Vahiguroo Ji Ke Fateh!! Dear Pyare Sangat, there has been an overwelming response, to this thread, and those that have PM'd das personally, I will get back to you ASAP. I apologise as I have been working out of the country. In terms of the Gold panelling that was removed by Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha, which was mentioned by Bha Ji Amandeep Singh Ji. I am happy to confirm that all of them are intact and in the complex itself. In terms of location that are in an office, opposite the Guru Ram Das langar. I saw them myself last year, after questioning the Jatha myself. I do apologise for not posting this up previously. It is also intersting to note, that after the Blue Star operation, every single thing has been done to cover up marks of bullets holes, etc around the Parkarma. There should have been some kind of relic, or memorial at Darbar Sahib Complex. Sadly, everytime I have been, there has been some kind of building work or marbling to replace this. One other act by the SGPC was to move the Shaheedi memorial of Baba Deep Singh. It was originally in the middle of the Parkarma, which now has been moved to the side. Therefore Sangat walk over that sacred place each day. http://www.shastarvidiya.org/htmls/mahapar...historical.html The fresco on this page, of Guru Hargobind Sahib is also no longer there. Bhai Gian Singh Naqash's family, also are dismayed at the attitude of the powers of control in the Sikh Panth. Many times they have practically begged the commitee not to white wash frescos in Amritsar, to no avail at all. This includes Ramsar Gurudwara, which had a fresco of Guru Gobind Singhs army, facing the Amry of the Emperor. By luck, I managed to get a few copies of photographs of some of the Fresco's. For the pleasure of the Sangat a New Exhibition should be completed for public viewing by the Sangat in August. As the details come in we will let the Sangat know. Das Kamalroop Singh
  13. Vahiguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Vahiguroo Ji Ke Fateh!! Dear Sangat, we can sit here all day talking about the SGPC till we are blue in the face. In this respect, we have already shown the lack of professional attitude they have towards our heritage. Let us do some research and find out exactly what we have lost and post it up maybe? The best way to illustrate what we have lost, is by listing it. It not a question of them and us. We all believe in Satguru Ji, and therefore we should respect everyones opinions. However we simply agree to disagree. Lets not make this into TUG OF WAR as the moderator has said. Maharaj bless us with peace. Kamalroop Singh
  14. I'm not here to do the work for you. Like you read bani, then read the books. If they are not available to you, then thats your bad Karama. It maybe that Satguru Ji did not want you to read Sarbloh Granth Sahib Ji.
  15. I thought the judge and jurar was Vahiguroo, it seems "the sikh princess" has taken that role. You have gone from asking me about my research, to a personal issue based on what someone else said. At the end of the day, Maharaj is Ang Sang. I dont wish to discuss rumours and gossip. Vahiguroo Ji Ka Khalsa Vahiguroo Ji Ke Fateh
  16. You know the books find them..........
  17. 1. Suraj Parkash Steek by Bhai Vir Singh, in Guru Gobind Singh life, its in there somewhere in the footnotes. It in the Eight Bhag. 2. Intelligence reports of the British. "Records of the Intelligence Department"
  18. PROPOSAL TO SGPC Objective To preserve and promote Sikh manuscripts where generally they are unsafe .One only needs to think back to Bhai Santokh Singh library in 1984 which was burnt to a crisp, it contained many historical Sikh documents. In addition to the loss and damage caused by past calamities, surviving heritage objects often remain in danger even today. Many are poorly protected from climatic conditions and general decay. Most objects in public and private collections in India have not been catalogued or documented, while others in Pakistan, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States remain unknown. Most of this Sikh heritage has already disappeared or been destroyed. Something must be done now. This will involve; · Making information on Sikh heritage objects and collections available to the public, in book form and via digital and Internet resources. · Increasing the access to the technology needed to preserve endangered Sikh heritage objects in India and Pakistan. We can create teams of paid or voluntarily students that are from these geographical areas. These people will contribute to the overall resource, and also preserve their own archive(s) for that organization.
  19. Vahiguroojikakhalsa Vahiguroojikefateh!!! It is very amusing that everything seems to get personal, that is fine the Sangat have the right to ask questions. Part 1: Funding for my research. My research is not in any way shape or form being funded by Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha. Contact them and ask them yourselves. Gurus Kirpa I have have survived up to now. Part 2: Punjab Well it seems you know alot about my personal life, Miss Princess Ji, apart from the fact that I spend almost half my time in Punjab. I have had meetings with SGPC, as well as putting proposals in paper to them. If you wish I can post you a copy of it. Part 3: My work on Heritage In the last two years I have spent out of my own pocket a small fortune in order to digitise, obtain copies if not originals of important manuscripts. My collection includes, unseen or published works I am working with a number of heritage organisations in the U.K with cataloging, and archiving, as well as preservation of materials. Most of my work should be complete by the end of this year, then you can see it online. Now please can you tell me what you have done? Vahiguroo Ji ka Khalsa Vahigurooji Ke Fateh
  20. VahigurooJiKaKhalsa VahigurooJiKeFateh!! Dear Moderator Sahib, this is common knowledge that this destruction is going on by the SGPC. It is is so graphic you can see it in these photographs. It is obvious and blatant, the purpose of this thread is to show people what is happening. If we can not mention the name of the Organisation that is doing this, then we might as well as stop posting. If you feel there is another way to make people aware about this enlighten us. The facts remain that the SGPC are responsible for this. If we cannot say that then what is the purpose of these threads? My feeling is most people in the Panth are sheep. They go where the majority go, and feel is the in thing. Real issues like this are being swept under the carpet. What is your proposition? Kamalroop Singh
  21. Here we have the exclusive team that decides what the SGPC puts up into a cloud of smoke: Check the picture out, to see how much respect that people have gurbani, in the SGPC.
