  1. Good reply Bro, and I do agree totally with what you say, but Bro, the thing is the question of parents teaching to serve them does not even arise, nor it is in the sense that the O.P has formulated the question, because that would be a selfish motive from the parents side ... As far as I see, the question of this thread, which by the way is quite a meaningful question, it is asking if one should stop meditating on Him, if one has to serve or do seva of one´s parents. As parents, their priority should be to inculcate love for the Lotus Feet of the Lord Waheguru in their children right from childhood. You see, when a child is born, is the most tender and weak being, and there the parents act as guardians and sustainers of their child at all times and conditions, in a way, they are the form of god for that child, from whom the child gets, love, care, protection and nourishment. It is so sad, that when parents give their life for their children since they were born, those very children, when grown up, do not respect their parents and shamelessly leave them to an nursing home .... it is a most heartbreaking scene.... Then coming to the children do seva of their parents, it is something very noble, and it has to be done in a nishkam manner or selfless attitude; the praises of the love and care of the parents for their children can never be expressed fully, and can never ever be repayable back. God is in all beings, and so one has to be kind and helpful to all beings selflessly, it is all about being nishkam seva as advised in Gurmat, for being selfless brings us closer to the Divine and be receptive to His infinite Grace. Gurdwaras, langar and so many sevas are carried out humbly by our sikh brothers, whenever and wherever humanity is in need of help. This is a picture of divine love in action at human form, thankd to the high teachings of Guru Sahiban and Bhagat Jan. And while we may have a duty towards our earthly parents, we must not forget or neglect our duty of seva and bhakti towards our heavenly Father Waheguru Akal Purukh; for when nobody will be there after leaving these mayavee planes, He is always there for us since Aad Jugaad. So, do we not owe Him that bit, if not more, of that our love and devotion at His Lotus Feet?
  2. It is quite true that one has to selflessly serve one's parents, as it is through them we have got this precious and priceless present human birth to also serve our beloved Waheguru who as per Bani is also our true Father, Mother and Sustainer. Serving one's parents does not necessary has to be in conflict with our meditative practices. In this respect, Guru Sahiban made it clear: aath paher jaapay Har Naao. By serving one's parents, one creates shubh karam at most, and for that one has to come back and get the fruits of that karam. But sangat jee, it is ONLY by meditating on His sacred Name, that all karmas whether good or bad are erased, and thus one gets freed from the unendable cycle of births and deaths, to finally merge in Waheguru and become one with Him. Such is the beant wadeeayee of Waheguru Akal Purukh. So, everything at its own place and time, one thing should not be an excuse to neglect our main purpose of life, which is to get freed for ever and become one with Him, by the repetition of His sacred Name.
  3. ਸਭ ਕਰਮ ਫੋਕਟ ਜਾਨ ॥ Sabha Karma Phokatta Jaan ॥ सभ करम फोकट जान ॥ Know all the Karmas (actions) as useless, ਸਭ ਧਰਮ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਮਾਨ ॥ Sabha Dharma Nihphala Maan ॥ सभ धरम निहफल मान ॥ Consider all the religious paths of no value. ਬਿਨੁ ਏਕ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰ ॥ Binu Eeka Naam Adhaara ॥ बिन एक नाम अधार ॥ Without the prop of the only Name of the Lord, ਸਭ ਕਰਮ ਭਰਮ ਬਿਚਾਰ Sabha Karma Bharma Bichaara सभ करम भरम बिचार All the Karmas be considered as illusion Sree Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj
  4. Mukti can be achieved by attaching ourselves with someone who is already "Mukat", because we are already trapped in the mud of our countless karmas, so unless we allow our hand/arm to be catched by a strong passerby and get pulled out, for, no matter how much hard we may try, we shall keep sinking in the mud. That is why in the Bani it is said: Bah pakar kar kadeeya (The Guru grasped us by our arm and pulled us out). Or also when it is said: Mat koee bharam bhoolay sansaar, bin Satgur koee na utras paar. That is why as per Sikhee, Guru Jee is so important for us jeevas/sikhs. The Guru is the only true redeemer at all times (past , present and future), all else is maya and "koor".

  6. Though this thread is a few years old, yet I would tell the original poster: Pen jee, Nothing is impossible for Waheguru, does not mean that, that which is morally incorrect, He will legalize it because of our pettiness and wrong thinking. So, do you think, that He who is morally perfect, and full of wisdom, you can bribe Him, or can induce Him to do something wrong to just please your "kaamna". How shameless can human fall.!! Instead to learn and stay in His will(bhaana), the shameless ones want to manipulate Him, to act as per their dirty and low mind dictates. This is the fact of Kalyug, the mad want the doctor to act according to their madness, rather than themselves get cured. So sad, so disgusting.

  10. WHY WE SHOULD DO WAHEGURU SIMRAN IN THE MORNING What is so important about morning Simran Simran in the morning is so important because you meet Guru Jee before you meet the Devil. You meet Guru Jee before you meet the circumstances of life. You talk to Guru Jee before you talk to many people. You fellowship with Guru Jee before you fellowship with other people. You hear Anhad Naad from Heaven before you receive any breaking news. You sit before Guru Jee before you sit before people. You kneel before Guru Jee before you kneel down before men. You Honour Guru Jee before you honour people. You get into Guru Jee´s presence before you get into the presence of people. You feed your Spirit before you feed your body. You call Waheguru before you call all other small names. You see Guru Jee before even you see yourself in the mirror. You sweep your heart before you sweep your yard! Shukur hae tera Sachay Patshaah
  11. What are your 12 rules for life? Be Happy - No matter what, no matter where or when, choose to be happy. Take everything with humor in your heart, regardless of what it is. Don’t Overthink Things - Sit down, think about a possible solution, and if you cannot come up with one in 10 minutes, then just act on the first best thing! Acting beats thinking nine out of ten times! Act with your Mouth Shut - Instead of saying you’re sorry, exclaiming your resolutions to the heavens and proclaiming everything you want to do, just do it. Don’t tell the world what you will do, show it! Give it Your All, Always - There is nothing you gain by living small. Either you give it 100% or you might as well not do it and change. Respect your time enough to give every moment everything you have. Be Honest, especially with yourself - Lying serves no purpose other than getting you into a life of another person. Being honest sucks at times, sure, but it will always lead to a better life. Choose your Path - This is your life and at the end it’s you who has to come to terms with how you lived. Don’t like what someone else is selling? Then don’t buy into it! Show Massive Responsibility - You said you wanted to do something? Then do it! Words are meaningless unless they are followed by action. It’s your life, which makes it your responsibility. No one else liable for the way you live your life but you. Be You - If you do not know what means, figure it out. Drop the B.S. - You know what you are and are not doing. You know when you are lying to yourself, kidding yourself and not doing what you set out to do. Cut out all the crap and focus on what matters. Never surrender on what truly matters to you - Whenever you do find something worth fighting for, fight for it with all you’ve got! Yes, you will fall. Yes, you will fail. Stand back up. The fight is only over when you stay on the ground. Never stop improving - When you stop improving yourself you will fall below your potential and receive a life less than what you are capable of having. Work your hardest. Always. Enjoy - You have one life, one chance, and one opportunity to make this life worth something, so make it count. Love your life, learn to enjoy yourself, laugh heartily, and, most importantly, make the mark you want to make on the world. Whether or not you lived a life worth living at the end is up to you.
  12. SSA Bro, All powers derive from the Aad Jugaad Power of Satnam. There is nothing comparable to it, so as per Bani, that even yamdoots and their boss "Mahakaal" can do no harm to that being who takes refuge at the Lotus Feet of Waheguru. So fill your mind, body, atma, with the Amrit of the Naam of Waheguru thru its constant jaap; then all negative forces, misfortunes, enemies, pain ..... shall run away. As the Bani says: jaa too mayrai val hai taa ki-aa muhchhandaa. When You are on my side, Lord, what do I need to worry about? So bro, lovingly invite Waheguru the Highest power and wisdom, to stay in your heart, then be free of all darkness, for once and ever. Stay blessed.
