  1. Killing an unarmed person in war which you could say was happening in punjab is a war crime. Some may argue it is unjustified due to the person unable to defend themselves. I agree with you Nehru her father I believe also attacked the Golden Temple and his is completely unjustifiable.
  2. Do you think killing her was right? Because of the killing a Genocide happened but if she wasn't killed she would not pay for her actions. Is killing her justified? Is it worth not killing her to save thousands of lives? Is assassinating someone right? Is killing an unarmed person right? Thoughts
  3. I think there is so much food available now days that we don't need to eat meat unless you are stuck somewhere without food. Meat is a last resort.
  4. A train is coming and is about to run over five people that are on the tracks. You can save them by flipping the switch but if you flip the switch the train runs over 1 person. What would you do?
  5. Just share your favorite philosophy books you have read. Also don't include SGGS or Dasam Granth because literary everyone on this forum has read some of it.

  7. Can you say what he is saying in English (My Punjabi is bad) Sorry for any inconvenience
  8. IMO Jhatka was probably done by the Gurus. But I believe that in a modern society (where we have access to so many protein roch food where we don't have to kill animals ) we shouldn't eat meat. If you want go ahead eat Jhatka but try your best to avoid eating meat.
  9. Does anyone have a pdf of Sarbloh Granth in English or a path of Sarbloh Granth in English.

The mantra that was given is the same but the people are different. Thoughts?
  11. Can everyone add Sants/Mahapurukhs/Saheeds to this list so we can read about them and listen to their katha? Sant Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwale Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale Sant Mohan Singh Bhindranwale Sant Kartar Singh Bhindranwale Sant Nand Singh Sant Jagjit Singh Harkhowal Bhai Gurdas Ji Bhai Daya Singh Bahi Dharam Singh Bhai Himmit Singh Bhai Mokham Singh Bhai Sahib Singh Baba Deep Singh Bhai Taru Singh Sant Thakur Singh Sant Sundar Singh Sant Bishan Singh Mata Sahib Kaur Mata Jito Mata Nanaki Baba Ajeet Singh Baba Jujhar Singh Baba Fateh Singh Baba Zorawar Singh Kavi Santhok Singh Sant Ishar Singh Bhai Amrik Singh Baba Hari Singh Sant Teja Singh
  12. If it was part of Sikhi it should be mentioned in SGGS or DGS.
  13. I think a Nand Singh was one of the first 5 nirmalas.
  14. This is an old post on the form it was by Akali_Akal_Singh IMO it is the Sikh view of Havan "Sargun Havan is not Gurmat. Gurmat says that nothing is to be worshipped except the Nirgun swarup. According to Baba Jagjit Singh ji Harkhowal wale, a Gurmukh's Havan is when Gyan awakens, when the avashnas are washed with the fire of Brahmgyan. Therefore "havan" like other words is used as a metaphor. Udasis were the real Sikh missionaries. Their job was to spread Sikhi, to attract more and more people. Therefore, in order to achieve their goals, they adopted many Sanataan practises. Of whom are the saffron bhekh, idol worship, havan etc. They did succeed. They converted many Hindus into Sehajdhari Sikhs. However, Khalsa has been strictly advised against these practises."
  15. As Sikh why do we need to make offerings for blessing. To get a blessing one should read bani and utter path. Why hold a double standard. If a Nihang does it why is it okay? That panth parkash isn't really trustworthy. I remember reading a English translation and it says that after Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's shaheedi all muslims were exiled from Sachkhand for the actions of Arungzeb.
  16. IMO there is no need to make offerings to Devi Devta. This Granth is pretty mysterious and might be created by people to support there agenda. Havan may or may not be part of Sikh tradition.
  17. I agree. Back to the topic Guru Nanak preached not to make offering or rituals. We don't need Devi Devta to connect with the supreme. To connect we must look inside of us. Vahguru is in all us. No need for offerings.
  18. I guess this is some evidence of Mahapurukhs contradicting each other as what Sant Ji says contradicts many Nihnag Sants and the order's rehat.
  19. This one passage and katha proves alcohol and meat should never be eaten. Also rituals to Devi Devta shouldn't be done. Edit: Also this says those who do Sukha too will fall to the underworld. It is a matter of choice whether to go with Taksal and Bhindranwale Sant or Buddha Dal and Nihang order as a whole. I agree with Sant Bhindranwale because his katha had a huge impact on me and I find all he says to be true. Any historical fact he says is always true and has lots of evidence for it.
