  1. hey guys correct me if i am wrong, but isn't this theory go against panj tats/5 elements that we made of ?

not really, all these theories, especially the ones that deal with quantum physics, on a basic level are showing the world to be a meta-reality, or even more dumbed down - the world as you perceive it is a reflection of your own inner processes. There is no actual definite reality but instead just instead just subjective perceptions based on beliefs, expectations, etc. I actually think stuff like this is getting researchers to look more deeply into eastern spirituality.

  2. neo, i dont know if you are going to meet baba jagjit singh again or be able to record anything, but if you do, i have one question...

i heard in katha that in order to listen to bani 5 birthis must be controlled - pramaan, uparjae, nindra, sankalp and simritee

can you ask baba jagjit singh what these birthis are, and how they relate to listening (as per jap ji sahibs 4 pauris...suniai; sidh peer sur naath...)

  3. http://gurmatveechar.com/audio/katha/01_Pu....Bir.Rachde.mp3

I was wondering if this is katha of sooraj prakash, or if it is from another granth? If anybody (Kam?) has information, please post it. It sounds like something that would be from sooraj prakash, but the fact that it talks about maharaj getting bani written from ik oankaar to ataarah das bees at damdama sahib and maharaj starting a samparda for arth of bani makes me curious of where it is from.

  4. vah ji vah, pure anand mangal , feel like dissolving in this qwali and never come out of it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good to see akj bibiya participating in this too, dhan dhan to them for understanding tat gyan in all dharams.

    ...assumptions, assumptions, assumptions

  5. yet in the commentaries within the text itself there are various praises of the same avatars. Look for instance in Krishna Avatara:

    Page 721, Line 6

    Krishna, the son of Nand, is the giver of comfort to all, enemy of Indra, and master of true intellect; the face of the Lord, who is perfect in all arts, ever gives its mild light like the moon; the poet Shyam says that the sage Narada also remembers him, who is the destroyer of the sorrow and anguish of the saints;

    Page 723, Line 12

All repeat His Name; the poet Shyam says, that the Lord (Krishna) is the gretest of all; he, who saw him slightly with his mind, he was assuredly allured by his power and beauty in an instant.381.

krishan avtar katha is a translation meant to give birras.

dasam katha bhagout kee bhakha karee banae. avar vasna nahi prabh, dharam judh kai chai.

bhakha means to put put into the language of the land, or normal people, hence krishan avtar is a translation and its clear that guru sahib meant it to be used for birras. Why would guru gobind singh ji praise krishan ji as being perfect when guru sahib also says "kaisae tohi taar hai sun jarh, aap dubiyo bhaav sagar." in reference to krishan ji in shabad hazare. Lets not misconstrue guru sahibs bani to fit our own beliefs.

in response to whether guru sahib will return as kalki avtar, baba avtar singh badni kalan vale, nephew of baba gurbachan singh and vidyarthee of baba mohan singh, did good katha on the topic of kalki avtar and the relation to guru sahib, it is on gurmatveechar.com

  6. Im not a niddar kid, nor have I ever performed jhatka. I don't doubt that it is possible for the brain to stay alive for 90 seconds after a beheading, but the mechanism by which doesn't make any sense to me, if it is infact true please provide some credible scientific literature, or atleast a rationale behind it. Otherwise no one has any reason to believe you.

"That's why halal slaughter should be perfomed by a professional not just any Tom Dick and Harry."

My main point in the previous post was that to claim halal is a painless killing is far too simplistic of an explanation. It also can't be denied that "Tom Dick and Harry" perform halal.

  7. Jattboot you forget that the animal looses consciousness straight away as the main vein is cut whereas with jhatka the animal's head is still conscious during the whole process.

I realize this isnt a science forum but this doesnt make any sense to me. The rationale behind halal being painless is that if the internal jugular is cut in one blow and completely severed, enough blood should leave the brain within a second or 2 that the animal should go unconscious. In jhatka, not only are you completely severing the internal jugular in one blow, but the same blow takes out all of the major arteries and vein to the head, as well as many of the nerves.

Also, for a normal person, without any sort of anatomy background to be able to locate the internal jugular and differentiate it from the large number of other structures running in the same area cannot be easy.

  8. alot of the things akj is hated on for doing in terms of keertan, is actually done by a large majority of keertanis, yet people choose to keep a double standard.

--use of 'entertaining' tunes - 99.5% of all keertanis and ragis use tunes that are entertaining, even those that do classical style will usually only do the first shabad in the correct raag and then the rest in an 'entertaining' tune

--inserting others tuks in the middle of a shabad - if you are going to hate on akj for doing this, please don't keep a double standard and also hate on bhai balbir singh for doing the same. I have heard recordings of his that he does uses tuks from other shabads for 15-20 minutes in the middle of his keertan.

I'm not saying these practices are right, I'm just saying to lose the double standard.

  9. Thanks for this.

Maha Kharag Singh is right. I wish we had something of the Sarbloh Granth on the internet. Currently no translations are available. Alteast if someone can do seva and just upload it's paath, that would be also great.

I disagree, I think that bani such as dasam and especially sri sarbloh prakash would be better left off of the internet. I spoke with baba prem singh one time at mata sahib kaur gurdwara and they told me that guru granth sahib is jagat guru, anyone can read the bani and gain from it, dasam on the other hand dasam is baani for a fauji that is unbending in their jat-sat. I think the modern day controversies surrounding dasam is largely due to people reading it that probably shouldn't be reading it yet.

  10. Gurfateh,

unfortunately their is no Katha as far as i am aware of the Akaal Ustat. Sant Sukhchen Singh Dharampur Walae completed it this year in Leicester as a tribute to Baba Santa Singh Ji when they passed away however i had a bunch of DVD's go missing whilst i was at the library. Due to this i am going to attempt to record it again next year along with the Gurbilas Katha

I have been told that full katha of dasam granth (minus charitars and hikayatan) by sant jarnail singh and baba gurbachan singh are at metha, if they are ever to be converted and released is another question.

  11. singh from baba mohan singh taksal and other senior taksali singh have damdama sahib spellings preserved, they cAn even tell you individual laagamatars that have been changed in order to make bani work with viakaran. If someone who has done santhia reads a pothi by baba mohan singh taksal and then reads any other pothi,he will notice atleast 50 changes just in nitnem banis...changes in dasam bani is somewhat understandle cuz of differences in puraatan saroops but there are many changes in rehraas and anand sahib as well

  12. funny to see the taksali kirpan in the second vaisakhi pic lol

reason why taksali kirpans are made like that is because purataan kirpans found at hazoor sahib were also shaped the same way. Baba Maharaj Singh's kirpan which can be seen in their picture seems to be shaped like the 'taksaali' kirpan as well.

  13. n3o, i know a Singh that got a kirpan (probably 7-8 inches long) from nihang baldev singh and he wore it over the top regularly without a problem. Wearing a pesh kabz or something like that would likely be a different story, but wearing one of the kirpans shouldn't be a problem in Canada.

  14. if you learn as part of a santhia class, doing santhiya of sri guru granth sahib in lareedaar usually takes somewhere around 2 and a half - 3 years. It can go slower or faster depending on the skill of the vidyarthees and the ustaad.

If you have no access to a santhiya class I would suggest using the bhindran taksal santhiya files that can be found on either gurmatveechar.com or damdamitaksaal.com and follow along with a larreedaar pothi. After you follow along 2-3 angs, read those angs around 25 times and then listen to the paath of those angs again and try to correct and mistakes you are making. Obviously this isnt the preferred way to learn, but it is better than nothing. Picking up on jamkees from the MP3 recordings is also very difficult.

A good way to start reading larreedaar would be to get a panj granthi pothi and first learn to read that, as the banis in panj granthi aren't too difficult.
