As usual India is Out of world cup.Main reason no good fast bowlers.Even Afghanistan which qualified for the first time has some fast bowlers which have good potential.A billion plus cricket crazy nation.Millions of rupees in Cricket .Very good facilities compared to Other Asian nations Yet the same country cannot produce good fast bowlers and then Indians believe they can play sports

There is nothing in verdict saying a woman must convert to islam in order to get married to muslim. In India only a muslim and hindu can marry under special marriage act on the other hand under muslim marriages are governed by All India muslim personal law .There is no provision in special marriage act that say a muslim man could have 4 wives so he has to marry another muslim woman if he wants to get married under muslim law

The largest Muslim seminary in India, Darul Uloom of Deoband, has issued a fatwa against working Muslim women, saying working with men is not Islamic. The fatwa says it is unlawful for Muslim women to do any job in government or private institutions that entails men and women working together and women having to talk to men without the veil. The Deoband clerics say it is clearly mentioned in the Shariat that women should wear the veil in office and should not mix with male colleagues. The fatwa has been endorsed by Muslim clerics of other schools of thought. And so I feel that perhaps Allah may not accept my prayers, but he may accept me for trying to contribute to society," Asma says. Two Punjab Congress MP's face Sikh ire for 'intrrupting' SAD MP on 1984 anti-Sikh riots issue Satinder Bains Sunday, 02 May 2010 Partap Bajwa says, Harsimrat plays 'politics on dead bodies' CHANDIGARH: Two Congress members of Parliament from Punjab-Partap Singh Bajwa and Ravneet Singh Bittu faced the ire of Sikh community for intrupting SAD MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal while she was speaking on the floor of house against giving clean chit to Jagdish Tytler allegedly involved in 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Sewa Singh Sekhwan Punjab Information minister has alleged that Bajwa has tried to stop Harsimrat from raising the voice against killers of Sikhs in Delhi after the assassination of late PM Indira Gandhi. The action of Bajwa was indeed seen by people during direct telecast of Parliament proceedings. Fearing backlash in the Sikh community, Bajwa alongwith Bittu have been trying to defend themselves and rebutted the allegations. Bajwa said that Harsimrat Kaur was trying to play 'politics on dead bodies' (of Sikhs). "We were not trying to stop her", Bjawa claimed in Chandigarh. Both MPs said they had only stood up and raised their hands to take time to speak on the issue. Challenging Harsimrat and the SAD to prove them wrong, the MPs said if it was so proved, they were ready to resign their membership. “However, Harsimrat must also resign from the Lok Sabha if we are proved right”, Partap Singh Bajwa added. Sewa Singh Sekhwan, has claimed that both MPs had betrayed the people of the state by trying to please their political masters when Harsimrat was protesting against the “letting off” of former Minister Jagdish Tytler in cases relating to the 1984 riots. Partap Bajwa claimed that Harsimrat did not try to make any point while raising the issue during question hour but tried to play to the gallery by riding on emotion rather than facts. Bajwa said that if she is sincere she should raise the issue with PM Dr.Manmohan Singh rather than taking it up in Lok Sabha. Sekhwan has went to an extent calling Sikh community to socially boycott two MP's who have no concern for the wounds of Sikhs. The issue may become an election issue in the next assembly elections putting Congress in bad shade in the Sikh community. Bajwa is reportedly trying to grab post of PPCC president. He is lobbying strongly in the party forums for the state presisdent's post.

Addressing the press conference here on Friday, octogenarian Rashpal Singh who is president of his party for the last three decades said, “It would be wrong to say that Sikh community was not the part of Hindu religion; since our ancestors were basically Hindu and after being inspired from Sikh religion they adopted Sikh religion with letter and sprit. Launching scathing attack on Sikh religious leader who were describing the Sikh religion as separate community, he said that this act would stop large number of people from Hindu community to remain in Sikh fold. Negating the stand of Akal Takht which number of times had described the Sikh religion as separate community, he said that number of times jatehdar Akal Takht had took wrong decisions which costs heavy to community and discourage the people of other community to come in Sikh fold. Decrying the stand of SGPC which demanding to snatch the right of non Sikhs to voting right in SGPC election, he said that it was a communal thought. Rashpal Singh said that non Sikhs should be extended full right to caste their vote in SGPC election so that maximum people from other community could join and follow the Sikh religion. Singh said that SGPC vehemently discouraging the non Sikhs to adopt Sikh religion and this act of SGPC was not good enough. Singh said,” If we peep into our past, out forefathers were Hindu and during freedom struggle of Indian nation, each Hindu family had preferred to choose their one son to adopt Sikh religion thus it was the main reason today we can find Sikhs in huge number all over the world even every nook and corner”. Commenting on Nanakshahi calendar (separate Sikh calendar) Singh said that it was a vicious attempt to keep the Hindu people away from Sikh religion. After the formation of Nanakshahi calendar, Hindus in large number stopped to visit the Sikh shrines to observe religious days even avoid coming in routine matter. “Our ten Sikh masters, even the founder of Sikhism and first Sikh master Guru Nanak Dev also talked about the Bikrami calendar in his discourses and none of the Guru hinted about the Nanakshahi calendar”, said that Nanakshahi calendar was the brain child of political peoples. The message of Sikh masters and Sikh community was to spread peace and to talk about God but not to keep the people of other community away, he quipped.

Akalis disrupt Parliament over ’84 riots Aditi Tandon & Vibha Sharma Tribune News Service New Delhi, April 29 Emotions ran high in both the Houses of Parliament, which saw acrimonious scenes today between the treasury and Shiromani Akali Dal-led opposition, with the latter accusing the government of misusing the CBI for shielding the 1984 anti-Sikh riots accused Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar. The Akali MPs, supported by the BJP, Left, AIADMK and the BSP, slammed the government for the exoneration of Jagdish Tytler by a Delhi Court following a closure report by the CBI. While the Rajya Sabha was adjourned at 12 noon after the opposition MPs (led by SAD’s Sukhdev Dhindsa and BJP’s SS Ahluwalia) trooped into the well of the House, protesting cosmetic action in the case, the Lok Sabha saw unprecedented and heated exchanges between SAD member from Bathinda Harsimrat Kaur Badal and UPA ministers Pranab Mukherjee and Pawan Kumar Bansal. The latter termed the 1984 Sikh carnage as “the most shameful event in the Indian history post-Partition” and said the Prime Minister had already apologised for the same in the House, even promised to reopen cases against the accused, if needed. An unusually ballistic Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bansal accused the opposition of “baking political cakes on the funeral pyres of dead Sikhs”, a comment that infuriated the Akali Dal, with Harsimrat saying the time for government assurances was over and concrete action was now demanded. Her speech carried enough ammunition to evoke angry reactions from Leader of the House Pranab Mukherjee who said, “The PM has apologised. How many times should he do that?” Earlier, after Speaker Meira Kumar disallowed her notice for the suspension of Question Hour, Harsimrat raised the issue in zero hour, recounting the horrors of 1984 riots. In an emotionally charged reference to the dark days, she recounted the statements of top Indian leaders including former Prime Minister IK Gujral, who recorded “how the President of the time and Home Minister PV Narsimha Rao sat casually as Sikhs were singled out, killed and burnt alive in Delhi.” “Will anyone in this House put his hand on the heart and say that a single person responsible for the Sikh massacre has been brought to justice in 25 years?” she asked, unable to make her point as the speech attracted sharp reactions from Congressmen.
