  1. It is actually an Abrahamic philosophical interpolation which posits "futility" with worship of the Divine as a lesser form or mere creation. And I will show you what I mean. Our boat of mukti is the NAAM. What is NAAM? It is not nirguna, because it can be perceived and has the swaroop of vakia. It can be spoken, and hence it exists in the material world. We know that the NAAM is only an aspect of the nirgun Divinity because Japji Sahib tells us the Guru is the sound current of the Primal Nada. And all sound comes from the Pranava, which is the sound current of the Naad vibrating from the nirgun imperceivable realm as anehad shabad, into the perceivable world of form as Guru Vak, Shabad, kirtan and NAAM. No one makes the mistake of thinking NAAM is separate from the nirgun Divine simply because it has sargun attributes which are perceivable. It is precisely the perceivable aspects which make it a boat for us to grasp and be rescued by. Without having any form at all, how could anyone praise the AKAAL? With what word? With what thought? With what perception? You can't. AKAAL is simply beyond us. And so we require the instrumentality of a Satguru who knows the God to make manifest to us the shabad and NAAM. All of these instrumentalities: Guru, Vak, Shabad, NAAM, vibrating sound current, kirtan of Lord's praise are perceivable within the physical realm, and are therefore, Sargun roop. We don't condemn the sargun roop of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. We don't condemn the physical vak of the shabad, kirtan and NAAM. We have never condemned or discredited the physical embodiment of the Guru's living forms. Yet everyone seems to be having an issue with Devi. Devi's roop is symbolic. It contains truth on more than one level of perception. To belittle and discredit Devi's roop and purpose is to discredit the God you can't perceive by invalidating the concepts which make that incomprehensible power of the nirguna physical and literal for our benefit. Moreover it discredits the incredible brahmgyaan of Guru Sahib who used Devi's roop to teach spiritual concepts about the Divine, Divine Justice, and kurbani to the Khalsa. If Guruji used Devi to explain aspects of the Divinity, who are we to throw out those concepts and invalidate them as useless to us nowadays? Of course, anyone is entitled to do so. I have never said anyone needs to agree with my opinion. But you people are not understanding Devi. First try to understand the meaning of those concepts, and then analyze whether you can throw them out and still have a valid Guru teaching. The issue with people who have not studied Vedanta is that they don't understand the philosophical concepts and get stuck in something like "greater than" and "lesser than." Let's start with this. The God is the God, and a worm is a worm. God is greater and worm is lesser. This is fact. But we exist in a world of duality, where appearances aren't always what they seem. On another level of reality, it is equally true that the God exists pervading inside the worm. Many philosophers have tried to explain these concepts in a comprehensible way. Some have called as particles of light existing within all beings. Some have called as souls existing within all beings. Some have called energy or shakti existing within all beings. But the point is, on another level of reality, it is equally true that the worm and the God are one. From that perspective, our egotistical arrogance of something like caste, or wealth, or youth, or power fades from us, because even the flowers sing His praises. The whole point of attaining a consciousness like turiya is to be freed from the bondages of ego-based perceptions such as "yours" and "mine," "greater" and "lesser," "value" and "devalue." God is simply beyond petty egotism of who is dusting His floors and beneath His feet and who is His very own Divine Beloved Oneness. Only concepts such as who is greater and who is lesser occupy the mentalities of judgmental manmukhs whose thoughts are themselves very often far from the God's praise. When Guru Ji is shown in aspect of pujari, it is not to denote inferiority or any supremacy of Devi. It is to denote that the physicality of the Guru's embodied form is always worshipping the Divine, as a teaching to us. naanak dhaas eihai sukh maagai mo ko kar santhan kee dhhoorae ||4||5|| Nanak, Your slave, begs for this happiness: let me be the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||4||5|| ~SGGS Ji ang 13 Nanak Das? If we had an authentic concept of the incredible purity of nirmata, we could understand that the greatest glory is contained within the lowest and least, and the most corrupted arrogance is polluting the very highest. And so Guruji has taught us even the devatay are corrupted in sansaara. So the greatest attainment of a spiritual Master is to be able to bow down and not be inwardly disturbed by kaam, krodh, lobh, moh, ahankar. But such displays of humility offend the ego of a proud man. And for that reason, the sadhana of performing namaskaram is a spiritual treatment for the ego-consciousness. To bow down, not to the individual, or even a human form, or an idol but the Divine Light shining through all these false appearances, as recognizing the Holy Presence all-pervading all things; that is to bring consciousness to awareness of God. And that is why such displays of humility are actually a profound and powerful spiritual practice, be it to sant, to murthi, to parents, to an ideal. Is there anyplace God is not pervading? Just as moving Guruji's feet away from Mecca only moved Mecca. We have lost the understanding in our condemnation of outward forms of practice. If someone is ignorant and hypocritical in his practices, that's for God and Guru to judge. Why do we condemn? If Gurbani chastises the hypocritical worship of offering living flowers and stems and leaves which contain the all-pervading consciousness of the Divine to a dead stone, then we see that and don't have to do it. But understand that all symbolism of murthis and devatay have an underlying spiritual meaning which is not worthless or worthy to offend and Guruji did not so offend. It was a Hindu Vaishnav Raam Nami bhagat named Kabir Ji whose tuuks of Gurbani corrected the hypocritical sacrificing of living flowers to stone murthis. If we lose humility in the process of self-righteous condemnation of another person's spiritual understanding, it does not make us holy, and in fact causes us to fall down lower. Devi has a valid place in the purataan heritage of Guru Khalsa Panth, and nothing, and no one's ignorance can ever take that away. saadhhoo kee hohu raenukaa apanaa aap thiaag || Become the dust of the Saints; renounce your selfishness and conceit. oupaav siaanap sagal shhadd gur kee charanee laag || Give up all your schemes and your clever mental tricks, and fall at the Feet of the Guru. ~SGGS Ji ang 45 Guru Nanak Dev Ji is teaching from His amazing piare and amazing nirmata and absolute spiritual Mastery. Ordinary men could never describe themselves in such terms as being a mere "dust" and "slave" without prickling discomfort of dukh to the ego. It wounds the pride! Imagine the Satcha Patshah describing Himself in terms of mere "das." Then you will undertand why we are wrong trying to define the Divine Totality and His individually described spiritual qualities or powers in terms of "lesser" and "greater" as completely erroneous and only evidence of our bondage to duality concepts. Only in the created sansaar is there a duality consciousness to perceive the God in parts and not as a wholeness. So we will say "God is a tail!" or "God is a neck!" or "God is a trunk" Some people actually do worship the God as Muruga, or the God as Ganapati, or the God as Lord Shiva. But human beings cannot perceive the whole elephant of the nirguna. And so, in reality, there is a defect in all of our worship, in all of our human perceptions of God. To think a concept of nirguna is not to have a perception of the imperceptible. Only by merging, can He Himself, know Himself. It doesn't matter if you say you worship only the nirguna, because you can't even describe or perceive what you claim to worship. And this is why Guru says all these Naams are Naams of the Divine. It doesn't matter what name you call it, or what aspect or perception you have of the Divine, the Divine will always be beyond you. jeh dhaekhaa theh rav rehae siv sakathee kaa mael || Wherever I look, I see the Lord pervading there, in the union of Shiva and Shakti, of consciousness and matter. ~SGGS Ji ang 21 The God is so great, He is even a slave, He is even conscious in a worm, He is even embodied as a human Guru able to be tortured and murdered while yet always existing in untouchable, undying samadhi. This is a lesson to reach us, that we too, as sparks of the Divine Fire can rise so high as to become ONE and UNITED with the Totality. And that is the state we call, mukti. The jeevan mukta can be tortured but is beyond pain. So he can rejoice even in suffering. Just talking about the nirgun overlooks Gurbani teaching that the Divine is both nirgun AND sargun. It nowhere says He is nirgun only. When we say this, we are philosophically wrong. If you want to be intellectually honest and say the God is nirgun only, you must eliminate Satguru, Shabad, Naam, and even Gurbani from the equation. Because without these sargun roops which the Divine Totality imperceivable nirguna has manifested, we have ZERO boat of mukti. That's the problem with literalism. And if we accept that the Divine Nirguna also manifests His Light and Power in form, then why do we care whether that form taken is a worm, or a bird, or air, or an atma, or an avataara, or a Human form of born Satguru, or Brahma-Shiva-Vishnu, or a head-linga-feet, or the love of Divine Mother Devi with uncut kes who rides the power of a lion/Singh and is shastardhari to save Her children from unjust oppression? If the Divine is CONSCIOUSNESS and CONSCIOUSNESS itself is ALL-PERVADING every living thing, why do we try to limit the infinite forms the Divine Consciousness appears as? It is only an appearance. The totality and fullness of the Truth is BEYOND FORM. According to Advaita philosophy, all this is God and there is nothing that is not God. Nothing exists which is beyond the pre-existing immortal Divine Presence and Consciousness. God is an infinity, and the infinity encapsulates, incorporates and subsumes the finite within it. dhiri baabaa gaiaa bagadaadi no baahari jaai keeaa asadaanaa| From Mecca Baba went to Baghdad and stayed outside the city. iku baabaa akaal rupoo doojaa rabaabee maradaanaa| Firstly, Baba himself was in the form of Timeless and secondly, he had his companion Mardana, the rebeck player. ditee baangi nivaaji kari sunni samaani hoaa jahaanaa| For namaz (in his own style), Baba gave call, listening to which the whole world went into absolute silence. sunn munni nagaree bhaee daykhi peer bhaiaa hairaanaa| The whole city became quiet and lo! to behold it, the pir also got wonderstruck. vaykhai dhiaanu|agaai kari iku dhakeeru vadaa masataanaa| Observing minutely he found (in the form of Baba Nanak) an exhilarated fakir. ਪੁਛਿਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਕੈ ਦਸਤਗੀਰ ਕਉਣ ਫਕੀਰੁ ਕਿਸਕਾ ਘਰਿਆਨਾ puchhiaa dhiri kai dasatageer kaun dhakeeru kisakaa ghariaanaa Pir Dastegir asked him, which category of fakir you belong to and what is your parentage. naanak kali vichi aaiaa rabu dhakeeru iko pahichaanaa| (Mardana told) He is Nanak, who has come into kaliyug, and, he recognizes God and His fakirs as one. dharati aakaas chahoo disi jaanaa ॥35॥ He is known in all the directions besides earth and sky. ~Vaar 1 Pauri 35 of Vaaran Bhai Gurdas Ji It is famously described among Vaishnava sampradayas that there are many varied levels and manifestations of the Divine Light and Consciousness. Not all the devatay are equal in the light and power they manifest. Some are "lesser" and "greater" yet, the Divine Himself is not lesser to manifest in part, as some particular aspect for some particular reason. That is the power of a concept of qualified non-dualism known as Achintya Bheda Abheda, meaning: "inconceivable Oneness AND difference." This philosophy teaches that God is both a separate Divine Beloved greater than His creation and EQUALLY that entire creation is only He, the All-pervading Oneness. naa vaeshhorriaa vishhurrai sabh mehi rehiaa samaae || In separation, He is not separated from us; He is pervading and permeating amongst all. ~SGGS Ji ang 46 And always, despite the limitations of the material sansaar, even our own intellect is like a mirror, called the "chidabhasa" meaning heart-mind light reflection. When we intellectualize, we have a consciousness able to perceive and interact BECAUSE there is a pre-existing, underlying LIGHT WHICH IS DIVINE WITHIN US. But it only exists, and only reflects a greater LIGHT. But on another level of reality, Light is only Light, it can never be less than or greater than, it simply is LIGHT. When we reflect on the point between the eyebrows, the witness resides there, known as the Kutastha Caitanya, Brahman consciousness, or God-consciousness. When we are caught in the ego-mind, we are the limited jeev, and our consciousness is mere reflection of glorious Light. But the glorious Light is our true being. When the jeev is surrendered, our atma merges into the Paramatma, and there is only LIGHT and no more individual self. In like manner the various Lights and powers and excellencies of the devatay in sansaara will also at some future time, merge back into the wholeness from whence they sprang. That is the eternal cycle of creation and dissolution. naanak eaeko rav rehiaa dhoojaa avar n koe ||8||6|| O Nanak, the One is pervading everywhere; there is no other at all. sachae saethee ral milae sachae gun paragaas || They meet and merge with the True One. They become the Radiant Manifestation of the Excellence of the True One. ~SGGS Ji ang 20 DEVI is the Light of God manifesting as Shastars to give the us the grace to offer kurbani for Dharma, equally as one offers his head and submits his ego to God and Guru for the sake of justice, truth, peace, and all the qualities which contain the God infinitely. On another level of reality all the fullness of the Divine Totality which is Nirguna manifests as the energy/shakti of the sarbloh shastars and vibrates the sound current and light of Divine Presence in the hands of the sant-sipahi. If you take apart the Devi, you would have to take apart all the qualities of the Khalsa who are the Divine soulbrides of the undying Oneness who is Justice and Peace, Truth and Power. siv siv karath sagal kar jorehi sarab maeiaa thaakur thaeree dhohee ||1|| Everyone calls upon You with their palms pressed together, saying, ""Shiva, Shiva"". O Merciful Lord and Master, everyone cries out for Your Help. ~SGGS Ji ang 207 Yet we will deny that Shiva is Naam of the Divine Lord? We will deny that Shakti Devi is Herself an emanation of Lord Shiva and therefore Himself in another aspect? Doesn't this contradict Gurbani? eaekaa maaee jugath viaaee thin chaelae paravaan || The One Divine Mother conceived and gave birth to the three deities. so kio visarai maeree maae || How can I forget Him, O my mother? eiko bhaaee mith eik eiko maath pithaa || The One is my Brother, the One is my Friend. The One is my Mother and Father. acharaj roop niranjano gur maelaaeiaa maae ||1|| Wondrous is the Form of the Immaculate One. Through the Guru, I have met Him, O my mother! ~SGGS Ji ang 46 I think what we have is not a problem with Devi, but just a failure of the imagination. We have put God in a little box, and if any concept comes to us that doesn't reflect that boxiness, we throw a fit and try to hack off all it's limbs to force it into that box. But that mentality is utterly the opposite of turiya which is freed from the bondages of such limited judgements and fear-based intolerant failure of imagination. Moreover, turiya is freed from the endless disrespecting of the Divine feminine which has led to so much degradation of the actual feminine throughout the world. If more men were courageous enough to embrace their motherly energies and be willing to sacrifice themselves protectively for others like a mother for her beloved children, and with all the beauty and holiness of female qualities freed from corruption, we could have a balance of male and female, which reflects the perfection and undivided unity of God. Isn't it true that even Guru Sahibaan have described the TRUE POWER OF THE DIVINE in terms of feminine shakti and not as masculine force! And that is because deadly force without the compassionate heart and intention of a mother for her children is simply destructive and not corrective. There is a great spiritual lesson in this imagery, and in why Bhadrakali is considered to be the embodiment of Divine Love and why Radha is considered the hladini shakti, the very heart and soul of Bhagavan Krishna. Shakti Devi as roop of Mahamaya is the power AND the Divine love of a Mother. It is the aspect of protection of the world and not the annihilation of it that is represented here, although it comes just near to annihilation because that's the force demanded to stop the injustices and right the balance of Dharma once again. The Mother Herself becomes terrifying aspect, to be a terror to the terrorists of the world, but it is out of love and protection. You ignore that element, and the power you wield only sways toward the self-serving demonic. That is the power of the psychological symbolism. Alter that, and you change the course of the future. The Khalsa will cease their dance with the Divine Beloved as soulbrides who act as fatherly AND motherly protectors of a suffering world. Pure force with masculine energies unbalanced by unity with the Divine feminine becomes just another demonic oppression and unloving torture of the world. Divine Mother cherishes Her children. God has come to us in the unity of a Father AND a Mother. We are supposed to be a Father and a Mother to this world. THAT is a true Khalsa. That is the power, meaning and importance of Adi Shakti, Sarabloh Shakti, Mata Shakti. So bẖag▫uṯī jo bẖagvanṯai jāṇai. "how many Hindu boy friends do you have dear?"

What is the purpose of sending me this? To imply I'm a whore? Well, I will report this to the admin and see whether baiting, flaming and personal insults are acceptable. To answer your question, I have no interest in manmukh activities such as "dating." Happy now? Or you really did...

  4. the question was asked, And it was answered. Whether or not you believe those Battle standards are meaningless crap is your business. But I am not full of crap to point out a historical reality. Personal attacks and flaming doesnt add to any debate. This is a HINDU section. Why should I go away? Oh, I suppose you want only anti-Hindus to post abusive anti-Hindu insults on your fake "Hindu" section? What a joke. Why does Gurbani claim that the Lord has four-arms then? What is a "deity" exactly? Do you even know? It may not be a version of the truth which you personally accept. But it is far from trash, and it has more historical credibility than you realize. harjas kaur ji, you write :"Sikhs were fighting the Mughal rulers and their Hindu collaborators who fought on behalf of Mughal occupation because they were bought with power, money and jagirs" "Did our Guru's take birth to destroy or harm Islam? and you seem to think that all converts to islam were through force. can you clarify? please." Our Guru's took birth to protect Hindu Dharm from forced conversions by the Mughal occupation. Islam, I personally have no problem with. But we are not talking about ISLAM. We are talking about MUGHAL's who brought a version of Islam to Hindustan which was genocidal. Gurbani talks about Islam as bringing a war, grievance and rapes to Hindustan. Gurbani talks about Islam being evidence of the Kaliyuga. The Guru's and no dharmic person has any right to "harm or destroy" Islam. The purpose was to protect right of people to be free from military oppression and to maintain cultural and religious traditions. That radical jihadi extremist version of Islam was what was being opposed. The holy Islam of saints was never opposed. No. Not ALL converts to Islam were converted through force. But you are dishonest if you look at a hundreds of years brutal occupation of Hindustan by Mughal invaders, shaheedi of 2 forms of Guru and think that Hindustani's were converting WITHOUT force. Else are the stories untrue that Sikh women wore the body pieces of their children garlanded around their necks to compel their conversions and punish their refusals? Is it untrue that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was called the blanket of protection of the Hindus who gave his life to defend the tilak and janeo? Anyways, this entire thread is a rude insult against Hindu scriptures and Hindu women. Why anyone posts here without even addressing that first and only to argue is showing the support for rude and abusive talk to anyone pro-Hindu on this forum. You can all call me anything you like, and already have. But the truth is still the truth. You don't silence it by flaming someone with a different opinion. But I certainly have lost all respect for any of you.
  5. Singh2 writes: This is a negative pre-judgment based on assumptions. Would you go into a college class with this kind of attitude? How can you learn anything if you think you know it all? If I am wrong, is my opinion crap because you don't share it? And what if I prove that I am right in these statments? Does that pit my knowledge against you personally? No. But you start out close-minded and will probably end up hostile to what is in fact historical truth. You do realize, regardless of how you interpret, that Murthi's were kept in Harimandir Sahib until 1906. Whether you believe as sanatani's do that this was always a Sikh practice, or as Tat Khalsas that it reflects changes due to the leadership of Mahants is interpretation. But the FACT remains that murthis have been a part of accepted Sikh practice at least since the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. So you are objecting to this reference to a Sikh Battle standard from the Anglo Sikh wars, kept in Museum in UK and calling as crap. Unfortunately for you, I have already posted this link on this forum. What should I gain by lying? I'm completely sincere. It is only our interpretations of Sikhi which are different. Here is the link veer ji. Sikh Battle Standards at Lichfield Cathedral, UK You will see the Sikh Battle Standard from Anglo-Sikh Wars with image of Chandi/Durga on it. There is also one with image of Muruga on it in His aspect as Leader of the heavenly warriors. Muruga rides a peacock and is one of Shivaji's sons. These were SIKH Battle standards. This is PART of the historical record that Sikhs were united with Hindus along with other evidence such as marginalized writings such as Janam Sakhis and Gur Bilas. I don't say you have to accept this is "right" or even "correct." I'm saying, it's part of established history. Interpret it how you want, but don't deny it. And this is the reason why there are sanatan sects within Sikhi. You can't assassinate every baba head and exterminate every sanatan Sikh sampraday to hide that fact. That's just stupid. Have intelligent knowledge of history at least without the endless rejecting denials and hatred. How can you ever explain a Baba Sri Chand, oldest son of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Yogi Master founder of Udasi Samprada? How can you explain if this was rejected that Baba Gurditta Ji, oldest son of Guru Hargobind became the next leader of Udasis? Can you explain why Guru Ram Das wiped the dust of feet of Baba Sri Chand Ji with His own dhari if Udasis were rejected and not a sampraday within historical Sikhi? Can anyone deny sanatan character of Udasi sampraday or incredible involvement of Sikh Guru's families within it even as Udasi Mahants were established caretakers of all historical Sikh shrines from the time of Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji? Why would there even be this historical connection? Sanatan Sikhism, even if you don't accept is the original Sikhi, is older than the intolerant Tat Khalsa interpretation which preceded it. Sanatan Sikhism has historical footprints all over Sikh religion, including in Gurbani tuuks. We believe it is original Sikhism even if you do not. Are sanatan Sikhs "evil" because they have a different interpretation which matches the historical heritage? Who are the Taliban mentalities calling as "evil" and "anti-Sikh?" They have no ownership of Sikhism. They don't even have knowledgeable understanding of the sanatan concepts in Sikh history. Such fools cannot be the self-proclaimed "representatives of Sikhi." Who dares to call even traditional sampradays as "enemies of Sikhism?" Or as "false?" Who are themselves probably the most hypocritical, irreligious persons whose mentalities reflect the pornographic corruptions they accuse. Gurbani says become the dust of the feet of sants. Gurbani says wonderful are the Vedas. Nowhere does Gurbani say assassinate as fake all the sant babas and trash as pornographic the Vedas. Whoever is saying such, in contradiction to Gurbani teaching, those are the "fake" Sikhs and "anti-Sikhism." Kali is a shakti/emanation of power of Durga. Sri Dasam Granth Bani includes a translation which comes from the Shaiva and Shakta scripture called Devi Mahatmyam. The Bagauti Kali or KAL is called the Sarbloh and the ALL-IRON Sword. The ancient historical practices of Sarbloh bibek and jhatka come from worship of this Lady. Kali Yuga is called the Iron Age, it is Her Age, and Her representation is Iron. Kali Puja and Jhatka Akal Purakh is beyond time, undying as a definition and relates to that aspect of the Divine which is nirgun. What is outside of realm of time and manifest creation cannot have the form of a Sword. So who is the Sword? It can't be the formless nirguna. It HAS TO BE a sargun manifestation. And in this case, it is represented in the Shakti Devi, which manifests the Divine power of God's righteousness. You can't divide the Divine into 330 devatay unless you are defining from duality perspective. This is the difference of meaning that the God Himself permeates the whole creation. Just like every living being has an atma. The jeev atma is a part of the one Paramatma and ultimately will return to Him. This is Gurbani teaching and it is traditional Vedanta teaching. Patanjali explained that just as the drop of ocean water contains everything that the ocean is, the drop is just a drop, it is not the ocean. HOWEVER, unlike in Abrahamic religious traditions where the drop/jeev is forever separate from the ocean/Paramatma, Vedantic wisdom teaches through sage Patanjali that WHEN the drop MERGES with the ocean, it ceases to be only a drop, and becomes only OCEAN. Likewise ALL beings which are made of impermanence in created sansaar, which is all the Devatay and all born avtaray will pass away and are subject to laws of Maya and decay. But Gurbani teaching can't be misinterpreted to say the God is not ALL-PERVADING His creation. The Ek Ongkar MANIFESTS through His creation, because what is nirgun can't be manifest. FORMLESS has no perceivable manifestation. Does this mean the God is completely imperceivable? NO! The God in totality aspect is both NIRGUN AND SARGUN. Manifest and unmanifested, beyond comprehension and comprehensible. BUT, to know the FULLNESS of Divinity, to know the COMPLETENESS, "Only He Himself, knows Himself." It is not in the created aspects that the fullness of infinite totality can be known. There is no scripture which could contain or describe Him. HOWEVER, the Guru knows. And the Guru can only know because the jeev has ceased, and there is only Paramatman, Jyoti Jyot. So the Satguru has BECOME ONE with the ONE. Now, as to demi-gods, this represents ASPECTS, PARTS OF THE POWERS AND MANIFESTATIONS of the Divine Consciousness in this Sansaara. NOWHERE does Gurbani teaching match Abrahamic scriptures which separate the good GOD from some evil counterpart. YET the British educational system which dominated India has given on many subconscious as well as conscious levels this ABRAHAMIC philosophy of GOD on one side, and a COUNTER-GOD who is fake, evil, corrupted on the other side. That is NOT the same understanding of the devatay in Gurbani. It has much to do with malicious Christianized misinterpretations and mistranslations. Devatay are finite and not infinite. They are aspects, not the totality. They exist within the created realm, and are therefore subject to ego and Maya as EVERYTHING IN EXISTENCE IS. It is due to no evil qualities of themselves, but part of the CREATED ORDER. To exist with sanity in this created order, every individual thing has to have SELF consciousness. And this is the root of haumai. It is not an evil, in and of itself. But it is a tool misused for selfish purpose and inviting sinful qualities of the panj bhoots to dominate one's life. Because we live in a created universe, EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO DECAY AND CORRUPTION. But this is due to no evil, like a shaitan. It is due to the Divine design and intention. Maya is not an evil. It is like gravity. It keeps us rooted to the sansaara. To defy the gravity of God's Maya, we must have 1. Satguru and 2. Jap Naam. 3. Keep the daily sadhana practices which Guru prescibes. Understand the full meaning of the thrai Maha-devas of creation: Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh. They cannot even be understood as separate. They represent three aspects of the architecture of creation. The creation itself, the preservation of it, and the destruction of it. This is not an evil. Gurbani is telling us that the Divine has permeated the created existence through these powers. Absolutely everything born will rot, decay and die. And this is not due to evil or immorality or some Christianized concept of "failed false gods." It is the Eternal's design, His lila. The unborn eternal Oneness is manifesting Himself in the created world of duality, and so is able to manifest as both infinite AND finite, unborn and born, undying and yet able to die. NOTHING is beyond the power of Almighty. But that which is finite cannot contain the infinite. HOWEVER the infinite CAN AND DOES contain the finite. That is Divine Law. Just as the Guru's physical bodies died, so Gurbani says there are millions of Rams and millions of Krishnas on millions of worlds. But the GURU JYOT is UNDYING! Only the drama of the life is finite and comes to an end. Every Ram and every Krishna is a Guru in some age on some world and therefore is MERGED with the GURU JYOT. Otherwise, why is Ram Nam 8,000 times used to call the NAAM of the Divine in Gurbani? Because the JYOTI JYOT BEHIND THE NAME IS ETERNAL! The name represents the ONE manifest in the created realm. And so we worship the eternal even calling as the Naam of Ram. We cannot call the name of the infinite because no words could express. Yet, the NAAM is our salvation. So the Naams of the God we are given are of devatay, avtaray, the manifestations of light on the earth. So the figure of 330 crore devatay refers only to aspects of perceivable light which reflect the Divine powers and Light of the Total One. They are not individually the TOTAL anymore than the drop is the ocean. But they are not evil. They are like angels. They are devas, meaning LIGHTS. They are reflecting something, manifesting some power or quality. People have an affinity for some aspect such as women may prefer the motherly tendency and idealize Parvati. Yogis may prefer the renunciate Shiva. Etc. In truth, everyone idealizing the Divine in some way regardless of what they may claim. And the reason is, our consciousness is limited. We see ourselves as these identities. We interpret the Divine according to our experiences in cyclic existence. So whether one calls ista deva as Parvati or a Sikh claims only nirguna is real and calls his God as AKAL, is meaningless. NONE of these names have to power to define or limit the God. They just reflect our own consciousness. And that is why Gurbani says ALL these names, including Allah, Krishna, Shiva, Ram, etc are names of who? The ONE TOTALITY. Gurmukẖ nāḏaʼn gurmukẖ veḏaʼn gurmukẖ rahi▫ā samā▫ī. The Guru's Word is the Sound-current of the Naad; the Guru's Word is the Wisdom of the Vedas; the Guru's Word is all-pervading. Gur īsar gur gorakẖ barmā gur pārbaṯī mā▫ī. The Guru is Shiva, the Guru is Vishnu and Brahma; the Guru is Paarvati and Lakhshmi. Even knowing God, I cannot describe Him; He cannot be described in words. ~SGGS Ji ang 2 Chandi, KALI, the baguati, the SWORD, the KAL is not some created servant of a Divine imperious master like envisioned in Abrahamic scriptures. It is part of the All-pervading Divine Light. It is the aspect of the Divine which, traditionally in Kshatriya lineages, justified the powers of war, combat, sacredness of shastars, sacredness of the calling of a sant-sipahi to defend the eternal Dharma. Else WHY would part of the sacred Shakta scripture in Praise of DEVI, the Devi Mahatmya EXIST in Shri Dasam Granth? Because She is meaningless? Or because DEVI symoblizes part of the Divine Jyot which is to combat evil through the shakti/Divine Power! And if She is this aspect of Divinty, Devi represents the power of God and the God directly, not like some Abrahamic created messenger servant. How can the POWER of God be a mere servant of anybody? That is totally misunderstanding what Devi represents in martial aspect. The purataan Sikhs didn't have a problem with Devi. It's this modern Christianized, missionaized, anti-Hindu, pro-British sepoy generation of Sikhs who want to tarnish and trash all the purataan writings and traditional associations Sikhi had with surrounding Hindu Dharm. Sikhs are so proud to be a Singh, yet Singhs have been Rajput warriors for thousand years. All of a sudden Singh is a new thing dissociated with ancient Hindu past? Some dare try to make it Muslim? I find that unbelievable. Singh comes from Narasingh, the Man-lion avatar who was incarnation of Lord Raam who tore apart demons with his claws. Just as the Marathi Prince Shivaji used weapon of claws, wagh nakh, to kill the Muslim usurper, Afzal Khan. Khalsa SINGHS are a reform movement that did not require birth in a jati to be the noblest sons of kings (Rajaputra: the Kaurs), and Dharma protectors. But it is not new that warriors named Singh would wield Khandas and wear full beards and topknots in defense of the oppressed. That is original Rajput traditions which comes from Lord Rama Himself. That is why Guru Gobind Singh claims that the Bedis and Sodhis are descended from the Solar dynasty of the Rajput clans and Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Ram Das families descend from Lava and Kusha, the sons of Lord Raam. You will not find anything like this in any Abrahamic scriptures. It is an ancient HINDU tradition. And Sikhism did not trample and disrespect it. Sikhism took the tradition and made it accessible to anybody, born Hindu or born Muslim, born Kshatria or born shudra. But the AIM was the same, and that was sacrifice for the sake of Dharma/righteousness. But it is really false-minded to try to eliminate the traditional symbolism and imagery in Gurbani itself, thinking Hindu religious symbolism is somehow evil or lesser. Corruptions exist in every tradition, including Sikhi. But the philosophy in it's true and noblest sense is not corrupted. Else why does Gurbani proclaim that the Vedas teach us about Satguru and Naam? The two keys of our salvation? And that is because the philosophy while entangled in kaliyug and not able to save, yet contains the teachings of what is able to save. We don't bow to Vedas, we bow to Guru. But STILL the teaching of Guru-shishya in Vedas PRESERVED in Kaliyug what is able to lead to mukti. Vedas and Puranas teach Naam japna. That is their eternal LIGHT. It is totally inappropriate for anyone calling themselves a Sikh to trash Vedas and Puranas against Gurbani teaching. Beḏ purān paṛe ko ih gun simre har ko nāmā. ||1|| rahā▫o. This is the blessing of studying the Vedas and the Puraanas, that you may meditate on the Name of the Lord. ~SGGS Ji ang 220 Dehi Shiva Bar Mohe Ihe (O God, give me these boons) Shubh Karman Se Kabhun Na Taron (Never shall I shirk from doing good deeds) Na Daron Ari Son Jab Jai Laron (Never shall I fear when I go to fight the enemy) Nischey Kar Apni Jeet Karon (And with surety I shall attain victory) ~Shri Dasam Granth Shiva is improperly ascribed to Hindi name for Shiva. But Shiv is correct for Shiva in this translation. Shiva in this writing is the feminine aspect and refers to Chandi Devi which is why it appears in Chandi Charitar Ukti Bilas, and why it is fitting in with translation of Devi Mahatmyam in Shri Dasam Granth. Purataan Sikhs never had a problem with Chandi. Why do we? They are praising the ONE GOD known by many names and many aspects. There is no such thing as 330 crore. There is only ONE. 330 crore is a delusion of the time dimension. It is an error of the duality consciousness which cannot perceive the Totality and only see's the powers of God in aspects of corruptible time and separation. There is no male and female. God is Oneness and wholeness. The Divine is our Mata AND our Pita. In the aspect of Chandi, HE THE DIVINE ONE is defending His children like a mother lioness. And that is why our Guru's had no problem with Kaurs leading battle charges like Mai Bhago. Because they had the immaculate perception of Brahm Gyan that even "she" was made in the image of the ONE. But don't think Hindu religion trampled women. That is only the corruption of the era and of ignorant people mistranslating scriptures. Kshatriya tradition had great Rajput Ranis who also marched and fought and died in battle. And the reason? They understood the shakti of Chandi. Sikhism incorporated this great HERITAGE of the Rajputana in Kaur Singnia. The genius of the reform was, it wasn't caste based any longer. That truly is the genius of the Guru Sahibaan. But the tradition of Hindu female warriors is ancient. Else, where would even come such a symbolism as Chandi? Lakshmi Bai Rani of Jhansi
  6. This is a joke right? HINDU'S invited the Mughals to come and dominate India? Or Mughals bribed some collaborators to win some key attacks as happens in every war? You really believe outrageous propaganda that Muslims were invited in? Like house guests I imagine. Yes, forced conversions were not occurring I suppose. Can you explain please the shaheedi of Guru Arjun Dev Ji and Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji? Thank you. And Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was not given title Hindu di chaadar and this also spoken of in Shri Dasam Granth bani? Sikhs were fighting the Mughal rulers and their Hindu collaborators who fought on behalf of Mughal occupation because they were bought with power, money and jagirs. Even to this day Rajput clans will not intermarry with those families as they were considered disgraceful traitors not unlike Sikhs have called the Ram Rais and Dhirmals, Minas and Masands corrupted and antagonistic to the Guru. But was there a "Hindu" Nation with an official Hindu King which fielded a Hindu Army AGAINST the Sikhs? No. That is a distortion. Just as the British undermined the Khalsas during time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and with help of collaborators defeated Sikh kingdom, no one can call collaborators working against interests of Hindustan as representing "Hindus." Why at time of Indian independence did entire nation of India accept Sikh religion as the protector of Hindus? Because they were at war with Hindustan? How absurd. A Muslim does not HAVE to forsake anything. But in the eyes of ISLAM and other MUSLIMS he will be considered as forsaking his Islam to bow down to any other. To a Hindu, respect shown in a Gurdwara or a temple or a mosque is to the same God and not problematic. But to Islamic religious teaching, such things are not accepted. Now you are equating entire Hindu religion with superstition and idols. I will acknowledge ignorance exists in human beings and some Hindu's have been religious without having wisdom or enlightenment. But why deny that ALL Hindu's are represented by superstition when own Hindu bhagat's bani is bowed to as Guru. Were they not "enlightened?" As to idols. Can you explain please what was Guru Sahib doing with the Vishnu padam Saligram in Gurbani and which still is property of Bedi family as relics which I quoted on previous post? Since when did Sikhi become a kind of Islam to intolerantly demand breaking of murthis of other people's faiths? Did not Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji defend the tilak and janeo? Did he do this only that Sikhs should trash Sanatana Dharma as something evil and fake and take sides with Muslims against Hindu religion? How insane. Again, Hindu religion has not done anything against Sikhs. Operation Bluestar, Delhi riots and anti-Sikh gallughara were not initiated by Hindu's but by secular Indian government at behest of non-Hindu Gandhi family and perpetrated by Sikh General Brar and Sikh Chief of Police KPS Gill and even inflammed by Christian with Sikh mother, Jagdish Tytler. Or have I missed something? Rather, it was due to political fighting and concerned the treasonous agitation for independent Khalistan, which is not really an issue having to do with Hindu religion at all. Congress Party had Sikh Generals, Indira Gandhi had Muslim father and Sikh daughter-in-law and Sikh bodyguards. I am still waiting for someone to explain what is "Hindu" chauvanism or "Brahmin conspiracy" in these facts. This is quite opposed to Muslim religious scriptures which call for jihad of foreign faiths.
  7. People who intend to defend Hindu Dharma against nuclear attack by Pakistan have threatened to respond in kind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cw3VqBt7aKA
  8. Yes, what exactly is the truth? Sanatana Dharma believes in it's eternal truth just as every other religion believes about itself. How can British be responsible for that? The maijor difference between Sanatana Dharma and Islam, for example is that Sanatana Dharma is opposed to conversions or disrespecting the faith of others or trying to set up missionaries and jihadis to dominate other countries and obliterate their right to religion. Sadly, extremist elements within Islam do teach and practice that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOPvAfKD4lo
  9. I agree with this statement. I never said Islam was false, nor that holy sants do not exist in Islamic tradition as I have long admired Rumi, for example. Also, I see Sufism as a true Islam as opposed to the fanatical Wahabi sect, and is far more liberal and tolerant. I do not really believe this, but I keep my mind open if you start another thread on that subject I would read it and consider your points. Essence of the word, huh? Islam does not believe in reincarnation or devas or chakras, etc. But I should like to see your idea of an equivalent. Islam does not consider Raam as the Lord God, for example or accept bowing down to a Guru. This doesn't mean Islam is a fake religion for so saying. It is only to point out that these things in Sikhism are derived from Hindu, not Islamic source. To say so is not Muslim hate or Hindu fanaticism. Dear, are you joking? Pakistan has spent BILLIONS on nuclear bomb development. It isn't some radical Hindu's ranting. Even United States is using CIA to secure Pakistan nuclear weapons from reaching Taliban and Al qaeda forces due to sympathies within Pakistan military. Sanatan Dharma NOWHERE believes Islam is religion created by the devil for precise reason that Sanatana Dharma definition of devil is different from Abrahamic faiths. Abrahamic faiths are derivative of Zoroastrianism which posits good God against an evil Devil. Sanatana Dharma believes that all is God and all is the play of God and ultimately all will go back to the God. But this doesn't mean to deny that there are forces who mean to harm us. If Islam would declare that all religions are equal and have a right to exist, would it even be an issue? No! But it is Islam which declares every other religion to be of the devil and against God and therefore deserving to be disrespected and destroyed. And history is the example of that fact. Quite the contrary, it is Islamic radicals, and I qualify as "radicals" since I do not believe that the average religious Muslim is in agreement with terrorists. The Islamic radicals really do intend to obliterate Hindu religion just as they have blown up the ancient Buddha statues in Afghanistan, or Mugals have destroyed Hindu temples to build Masjids. It is history. Hindu's only have Dharmic right to react in self-defense and to preserve Sanatana Dharma.
  10. When did I say this? Why put fake words in my mouth only to create straw man argument you can shoot down. Use my own words directly as a quote if you have a problem with them and don't make up fake things and put them in my mouth. I am opposed to militants attacking Hindus witout provocation who are innocent and unarmed. I have degree of respect for Sant Ji, though I believe he was sincerely misguided. And never have I claimed he was a Hitler. Stop your lying.
  11. Maybe you are missing. The point is this thread, in Hindu religion section: And initial post which includes comments reflecting hatred and mockery of Hindus and Hindu religion such as this direct quote: And there is NO other point but that I protest against this as divisive, causing unnecessary hatred of Hindus and reflects poorly on Gurbani teaching and makes fool of Guru Sahibaan's own bani which contains quotes from those scriptures which are taken completely out of context to reveal pornographic mind and low spiritual jeevan of the poster.
  12. This forum accuses me yet again of being part of political mischief, when I am responding to a clear insult against Hindu women and Hindu scriptures. What is this? How crazy. I represent myself, not some nefarious shadow organizations. What causes division and suffering is to accuse that Hindu scriptures call Hindu women as whores. THAT is the kind of thing which promotes religious hatred. And stop derailing that obvious fact. Did it really? I thought it was war and oppression caused by the Mughal Muslims which brought the religion of the Prophet to Hindustan by force. Sikhi is not any blending of Islam. It is to make Sanatana Dharma acceptable by finding common ground so that people would not be persecuted and tortured for their faith, by showing that yes, even Hindu's believe in the One God. Sikhi came into existance to defend the innocent against persecutions by Muslims. And it is true that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji has historically had the title of Hind di chaadar, the blanket of protection of the Hindus. What did Guruji protect the Hindus from? From Muslim atrocities committed in the name of terrorizing kafirs until they converted and their own religion was destroyed. I'm sorry if it offends you. But it is no extremism on my part to tell the historical truth. The Guru Sahibaan were never against Islam the way Islam was against Sanatana Dharma, and indeed took efforts to be fair and Dharmic at all times to the literal enemy, as we see in example of Bhai Kanaya giving water to wounded Muslim soldiers fighting the Sikhs. How could the Sikhs both literally be fighting a war against Muslims and be a part of Muslims? It makes no sense. Some spiritual Muslim people who were opposed to the injustices of the Mughal Raj did in fact come to the Sikh Guru's in support. And some of those actually became the Guru's chelas. But in order to become that, they had first by bowing to Guru, lose their Islam. Because you cannot at one time bow your hairs to Sikh Guru and be a Muslim. Thān mukām jale bij manḏar mucẖẖ mucẖẖ ku▫ir rulā▫i▫ā. Sikhi blending Hindu-Muslim unity during a time of war and persecutions is to promote the survival of the community AND the historical religion of the ancestors. The Guru Sahibaan did not create Punjabi language. Punjabi language with its mix of Sanskrit, Braj, Hindi, Arabic, Farsi, and Urdu for example was a reflection of the Mughal domination of Punjab. So the Guru Sahibaan took the rich Vedic teachings and translated them into Punjabi in a way intended to lead to harmony and peaceful coexistence WITHOUT renouncing the Sanatan heritage. Guru Sahib created Gurmukhi to teach the people and create literacy and knowledgable awareness of their heritage, both the corruptions and untruths within it as well as the core spiritual truths within it. Or are you implying that such words as reincarnation, karma, dharma, bhakti, kirtan, mukti, nirgun, sargun, yoga, meditation, brahmgyan, dasam duar, deva lokas, etc. somehow relate to Islam? Because entire context of core Sikhi teaching is rooted in Vedic scriptures. That is the origin of these words and concepts. I mean no disrespect to Islam, but I'm hard pressed to imagine them as Islamic concepts. Islam is about accepting Mohammed as God's final prophet and the Koran as God's final authority. To do this, you immediately reject EVERYTHING else. Sanatana Dharma has no teaching like this. It can't even be compared. Since there is karma and reincarnation there is no need for missionaries to save people or jihadis to punish people over religion. Sikhi is a unity in a spiritual way which promotes tolerance and peaceful coexistence. To my knowledge, Islam still renounces every other religion as false, every other form of worship as false, and still murders unbelievers, Muslims who have converted, etc. Else why is the world having such a problem with Muslim extremism if not for such being actual scriptural teachings of Islam? But respectfully, there are good Muslim people who do not support this. Sadly, the Muslim orthodoxy does. The Muslim officialdom does. The Muslim clerics and scholars do. So we cannot ignore either the weight of history or the persuasion of the leaders of Islamic religion that they do in fact represent it's teachings. I have never spoken AGAINST Muslim people by telling historical truths, why do you so accuse? Do you see anything in Islam which accepts bowing down to a Padam Saligram (representation of Vishnu) as the Lord's feet? Bowing down to a human Guru as when Guru Sahibaan were alive and in form people did. Bowing down to Shri Guru Granth Sahib? Why do you call me a Hindu fanatic simply to protest this thread against Hindu's posted under Hindu section of the website? And I am not insecure in my beliefs. I know exactly why I believe them. I agree wholeheartedly that all people should be united under a common umbrella of core values and beliefs. I have NO PROBLEM with tolerance of other religions. I do not care what Muslims believe nor have I ever posted on their forums. NEVER. I have no intention of showing disrespect to sincere Muslim people or debating against their beliefs. My problem is only when their missionaries have initiated attacks on our websites. In those cases I do refute them. I never said otherwise, contrary to Muslim Missionaries who preach that only through ISLAM can anyone be saved. And without converting to ISLAM everyone will go to hell. Or that people who believe in other religions are false and of the devil. I believe in the undying truths of sanatana Dharma, that all people who are sincere in their religions, false or true, will come on the right path with right understanding eventually, because all jivas are a part of the One Divine. When I am speaking to Sikhs it is to remind them their own historical roots and even Sanatan teachings in Gurbani and historical Sanatan sects which has existed within and around Sikhi since even time of Baba Shri Chand, Guru Nanak Dev Ji's son and Udasi movement. How sad that someone will be so traumatized by politics to have hatred and bitter rejection of own heritage. To promote awareness so Sikhs can be tolerant of own historical lineage and not be disrespecting Hindu scriptures and Hindu women is NOT promoting Muslim hatred. Oh, the Islamic influence is there, in local language, dress styles, etc. due to the hundreds of years of Muslim occupation. But the religious and philosophical teachings? They are not Islamic. They are undeniably rooted in Hindu religion. Can you prove otherwise? Can you please prove how Islam teaches the creation of the universes through Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu and the three gunas and power of Maya? If you can, please do so on another thread. I'm interested to know how Islam incorporated bhagavan Krishna mentioned in Gurbani, or explains the Waheguru gurmantra. If Sikhi is just a form of Islam, how do Muslims explain calling the God any other name then Allah? Sikhi has always accepted. Sanatana Dharma has always accepted. It was the "both sides" which was always the problem. Islam has yet to accept any other version of religion as being worthy or true. And that is the rationale behind the Mughal invasion and the atrocities to terrorize conversions. It is the rationale behind charging Sikhs Jizhia tax. It is behind why 30% population of Hindu's and Sikhs in Pakistan has become 1%. And that is why Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaaj was beheaded and became Hindu Di Chaadar.
  13. Thank you Laal Singh Ji. However, you were posting in response to my response to the first thread. It cannot be taken out of context that you were attacking my protest and not my beliefs. As I said before, the discussion is being derailed by people antagonistic to Hindus, the same antagonism reflected in the very topic thread and first post. Don't take my words out of context. Nothing in Gurbani teaching supports anything of the first post and that was entire reason for my posting here, not to debate interpretations with people. Believe whatever you want. I really don't care. Just stop promoting from within Sikh community such bitter hatreds of Hindu people and Hindu religion please! I was trying to show in the best way I know that the very topic and first post ARE AGAINST GURBANI TEACHING AND HURTING SIKHS AS WELL AS HINDUS. I have nothing at all else to say to you people who went so far as to call me a homosexual and a whore the last time I debated. I have nothing else to say except to object to this entire thread and the hate it promotes. Sadly, removing the first post will only create the impression of my posts being attacked by all you people and remove the context of why I was even here. So either the entire thread should be removed, or everything should be left intact so people have understanding what I was objecting to.
  14. Gurbani is teaching the avataras are evil and deserve to be punished by death at hands of Muslim Mehdi Prophet? May I ask if you ever bother to READ OWN GURBANI? Or do you learn Sikhi from politically mischievous Muslims intent on spreading hatred against Hindu community and to destroy Hindu religion? Jaram karam macẖẖ kacẖẖ hu▫a barāh jamunā kai kūl kẖel kẖeli▫o jin binn jī▫o. You are confusing avtaras with demi-gods, not surprising given the level of your ignorance. But the outrageous claim that the avtar to come next, which is Kalki is against the God, even as He is coming FROM the God and thus CONNECTED to as coming from the same Jyot, Guru Nanak Jyot and must be punished by being killed by Islamic prophet? What kind of Sikhs are these? This thread is entitled Strange Hinduism, and is about condemnation of the same. What are you people promoting besides filth and hatred and treason against your own beliefs?
  16. Gurbani says the God came as the das avataras, and that in Kali Yuga the God came as Guru Nanak and will come again as Kalki. What I have written is true. Life and time move in cycles. Guru Nanak brought message because of the Kaliyug, because of the iinvasion of Babar and Mughals and the oppression and threat of obliterating the Dharma. All the pre-Sikh Panths lead to the God, the very bhagats bani in Gurbani is attesting this. To a Sikh, a disciple of Guru Nanak Jyot, He is the very God. To a disciple of any Guru, that person's Guru is God. This Gurbani is written from that perspective. To a Sikh Gurbani is the Vedas. But so saying does not imply the Vedas are trash as is alleged on this thread. And that is my point. I did not say all Sikhs must now run and do pujas to Durga Ma or study the Vedas. I am saying Sikhs have no right, least of all by Gurbani teaching to trash and denounce Hindu spiritual teachings. NOBODY can achieve mukti without a Satguru. If Satguru Nanak says chant the Name of God, then that is the practice. But how ARROGANT to assume that is a practice to be imposed on the whole world's religions as the final and only truth, as if you have become radical jihadi Muslims and incarnations of Aurangzeb. It is ignorant to think only Sikhs will have mukti. That is not what Gurbani says. There have ALWAYS been jivas which achieve mukti in every age. And there always will be. That is the design of creation. Or are you imagining SIkhi as a new form of Islam which makes everyone else a sinner unless they are saved by conversion to Sikh? In those other ages, the Dharma Bull had all it's legs, only in this age it has almost lost all it's legs, so direct from Bhagavad-Gita, Naam Jap is the superior method to obtain Mukti, this is different than in previous ages. Guru Nanak Dev Ji seems to agree with Bhagavad-Gita teaching on this, that by Naam Jap and Sankirtan of the Lord's praise the mind will be washed of samskaras and karmas and achieve mukti by Guru's grace. First of all, nowhere in Gurbani is there any teaching of Islamic practice or Islamic belief. In fact Gurbani says that in Kaliyug the Mughals appeared and brought oppression to Hindu's. Second, Gurbani is speaking from the perspective of a Satguru to correct the moral and spiritual deficiencies of people's religious practice. It is not written as a condemnation of Hindu religion(s) which is a plural. Gurbani is correcting the extremism of some sects of yoga asceticism. Those practices are not taught by every Hindu sect. Many also condemn the same things Guruji was condemning. Gurbani is correcting the fake, ritualistic hypocritical practices and promoting BHAKTI Path as superior. This is also Vaishnav teaching. Vaishnavism was a reform and also condemned the caste system, which is why Bhagat bani is appearing in Gurbani to teach that. It is teaching from before the time of Sikhs, and thus evidence of the Vaishnav reform of the caste system. Guru Ji did not reject the janeo as a brahminvaad practice, because Guruji was not a brahmin, but a Ksatriya. The janeo belonged to everyone except Shudras. The Vaishnav reform made someone born a shudra as being the equal of a Brahmin if he was devoted to the God, and the born Brahmin as a Shudra is he was fake and a hypocrite. So this is also Hindu teaching as it comes from Vaishnav caste reform and is based on original teachings of Vedas. It was Vaishnavism hundreds of years before the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji which initiated the reforms of langar, of admitting women, shudras, and the poor as equal in spirituality. Since that time Vaishnavism has broken into many sects, some as brahministic as the reforms taught against, and some as clear as Gurbani about promoting spiritual equality. But the point is, it was Vaishnavism originally which set out to reform the abuses of Brahminism, and Sikhi took that mantle from the Vaishnav sants teaching that yes, these were spiritual truths from the One God and original teaching from the Vedas. Guru Ji is not saying Hindu religion and philosophical teachings about Satguru's, and avatars, and NAAM is fake because people have lost guidance. By giving the proper understanding Guruji is PRESERVING Sanatana Dharma from the insult of fake practices, ignorant people, false understanding, bad teachers and forced conversions by Mughals. That is His role as a Guru! To point out the wrong things and teach the right things. And Guruji did this, but incorporating the bhagat bani of the Hindu Vaishnav Sants. And Guruji is not the first. Guruji won't be the last manifestation of this Divine correction to balance the righteousness in the world against the darkness which overtakes it. Naam Jap is a Hindu practice. It is worthless? This thread began by accusing Hindu scriptures as evil and worthless. And my point? Guruji says they are from God. It is our understanding which is worthless. Not every Hindu represents or believes in every practice. Hindu religion(s) plural are not all the same. the Sanatana Dharma is about tolerance of everything and so there is no force to believe or practice differently. But if somebody's Guru teaches them a practice, that person MUST follow that practice. Have I said anything here which would lead a Sikh AWAY from the practices of Guru? No! Hindu religion(s) have many, many practices. Are all of them right? Some are right, some are misguided, some are right for some but not others. Why make this big judgment of rejection for Hindu's? Because that is what this thread is about, accusing that Hindu scriptures are calling Hindu women as whores in order to trash Hindu religion(s). Plural, since many sects and beliefs and practices are under this umbrella. Guruji as Satguru was making the corrections, and even using Vaishnav Bhagat bani to do so, so it is INSANE to interpret these instructions as AGAINST or REJECTING Hindu Dharm. Only a malicious person equates some sadhu extremism not even accepted by mainstream Shaivas as representative of ALL Hinduism in order to condemn it by mocking as the most extreme examples. Anyone could easily take the most extreme examples of misguided Sikhs and make Sikhi look monstrous. But is that the eternal Truth? Why promote asat in order to exaggerate communal hatreds? That was the reason I posted on this thread. Now a dozen people have jumped in to condemn me.
  17. Because for the sake of space I try to highlight the relevant points my posts are too long as it is and people don't even read them. Why are you accusing me of deliberately trying to misconstrue the bani? Have I not posted the bani clearly? And all are welcome to investigate and read for themselves more in depth. Why attribute mischief to me? Did I do any false translation to deliberately misguide? No. I took only accepted translations direct from internet as people on Sikh forums are always doing. Second, it is clear that within Sikhi are differing interpretations of exactly what that bani means. Damdami Taksal, AKJ, Nihang Jatha, Nirmalay, Nanaksar, Kabirpanthis, and Udasis, Namdhari's, etc will read the bani from a different perspective. I am not changing anything, and I am not interpreting. I have placed the bani and let it speak for itself. Now, what you are doing is "interpreting" the bani for Guru. Nowhere does the Gurbani say, "this is the vision of the sargun of the Vaishnavs, so my Sikhs can discount it." Tat Khalsas have put those definitions into Guru Ji's mouth and tried to force that interpretation on Sikhs. But in truth, the Gurbani is describing in many places the same thing. But things are already clear. They are clear without interpreters. Interpreters are only needed when they want to CHANGE something in Gurbani, as you are doing, and make these entire pauris meaningless for a Sikh, because he will read them and say, "Guru Ji wasn't speaking to "me" as a Shishya, that was only intended for a Vaishnav audience. So I can ignore all those tuuks and pauris, and pretend the Gurbani is saying something else to me." That is the real mischief. Every single word in Gurbani is intended for His Sikhs. And every single word is true and correct, whole and perfect. You don't take bits and parts of Gurbani and ignore them as irrelevant (polite way of saying false) because they are not for you, but for Hindu Vaishnavs instead. No. Whole Gurbani is written for the world, is written for the Guru's Sikhs. Only malicious scholars take the sanatan teachings out of Gurbani and rearrange that it is for HIndu's only and Sikhs can ignore that. The truth of the matter is the Sikhs come from Hindu background, with a few percentage from Muslim background. At the time, Guru Ji WAS speaking to his Sikhs in a way to unite them as one community with true spirituality during a time of war. Such was the greatness of Guru Ji Maharaaj. And that is why these tuuks and pauris are in the Gurbani. But very clearly, if someone is making mischief to demonize devatay, to trash them, that person is contradicting Guru's bani. What utter mischief is it of yours to come along and say, "NO! You have wrong interpretation!" And I have not even interpreted. This message is for Sikhs for all time and from all backgrounds. NOWHERE IS GURU SAHIB DISRESPECTING RELIGION. AND THAT IS THE POINT. Are you crazy not to recognize that Guru Nanak Dev Ji is born in house of Hindu's and from this basis explained this wonderful teaching of Sikhi? "Don't stop at tuk with mention of multiple arms." What kind of craziness? What are you afraid of? The God is formless AND with form. Entire pauri of page 1082 says nothing but the truth we bow our heads down to. Anyone can read it for themselves. Why should they listen to anyone's "interpretation?" You posted: Let everybody here see who is maliciously interpreting and rearranging tuuks of Gurbani to make speak for their own anti-Hindu ideologies. Let's see what the Gurbani actually says and in what context. Kavan kavan kavan gun kahī▫ai anṯ nahī kacẖẖ pārai. Is the God separate from His virtues? How can this logically be if the God is not even separate from His creation? Moreover, you place this tuuk at the very beginning, when it is at the END of the pauri on pg. 1280. Then you placed right next together with the tuuk on page 1301 as if it were a continuation: ਕਿਆ ਉਠਿ ਉਠਿ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਬਪੁੜੇਂ ਇਸੁ ਮੇਘੈ ਹਥਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ Why are you standing up, standing up to look? You poor wretch, this cloud has nothing in its hands. The One who sent this cloud - cherish Him in your mind ~SGGS Ji ang 1280 You put it mischieviously together with this other pauri to contradict what I quoted on page 1082 to make it say something else, a message of rejection which is clearly not indicated in either of these pauris. The rejection is yours, and so it cannot be other than your OWN interpretation. But don't let your rejection run so deep that you begin maliciously distorting Guru's bani to say things it DOES NOT SAY. Below is the pauri from which the tuuk was taken. In NO WAY is it saying was you have distorted and interpreted it to say. Anyone can read it. Here it is. IT SAYS NOTHING ABOUT VAISHNAV'S, NOTHING ABOUT DEVATAY! STOP PRETENDING! It is talking about the fake religious people who lose God because they are using only their corrupted intellect to reach him, and they just make arguments and confusion. Guru Sahib is saying what the Vedas are teaching. YOU CANNOT OBTAIN MUKTI WITHOUT A SATGURU TO INITIATE THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD IN YOUR MIND. Tell me, where is the rejection of Sanatana Dharma? How did you decide that the "cloud" spoken of in this pauri means the devatay? When you look at your child's photograph with affection, it is not because you adore the paper it is printed on, but because the image brings to remembrance the face of your beloved child. I did nowhere say Sikhs should do pujas to devatay. I did nowhere condemn other people for performing pujas to devatay. First of all only a Brahmgyan can read their hearts. Not one of us can judge other people's intentions during their religious worship to make judgments in the absence of facts, to attribute hateful things to innocent people. Especially on a thread accusing Hindu scriptures of teaching that Hindu women are WHORES, and you are quoting from Gurbani itself to prove something else. What exactly are you trying to prove except that Sikh community itself has become entirely polluted with hatred of Hindu's that it can't even think straight. Guru Sahib is saying here don't be caught in duality, which is not a condition of Hindu religion, it is a condition of the entire created world. And Guru Sahib says to go beyond it and love the One God who is eternal and within our own hearts, and we do this by, what? By Naam Japna. And who taught the world the practice of Naam japna and Sankirtan? The Vaishnavs did. So why belittle the Vaishnavs when Gurbani clearly does not. Ḏovai ṯarfā upā▫e ik varṯi▫ā. Sadly it is saying nowhere to trash the devatay as worthless or false. It is not saying anywhere what you have attributed to it. Why do you do that, cut and mix together and add interpretations which do not exist? Why are you maliciously calling me as Harjas Devi? You do realize that before Guru Gobind Singh gave the Panth Khande Ki Pahul and the surnames of Singh and Kaur that Sikh bibis were in fact called as Devi surname? Why are you disrespecting that heritage? Why do you hate it so much? What is meaning of Devi that anyone should despise? It means the same thing as shakti. Now I object on these grounds. First, because you remove Kaur from my surname and that is an insult. Second because you hate devatay and by so attributing to me, you do so to make me an object of scorn. And third, because I am not worthy as a shishya myself to have as surname attributed to beloved Guru Dev. So I ask you to please not do this. The entire Rajput heritage has called as Kaurs. If you want to erase Hindu influence, you should have to erase the very name of Kaur from yourselves. If you would not do that, then don't erase it from me. You write: How Ji, are you accusing that I am not reading the whole shabad continuing on page 1083, and 1280 and 1301 when the pauri I have quoted from is on pg 1082? But okay, let's look at it since entire Gurbani is an undivided wholeness and can never contradict itself: ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਅਛਲ ਅਡੋਲੋ ॥ Nirankār acẖẖal adolo. But even on page 1082 when speaking of Avataray Guru Ji is saying the same thing. Or are you saying that the God who is described as Akaal Murat on page 1082 is NOT the same as the Nirankar described on page 1083? By the Pleasure of His Will, He took incarnation as the great fish and the tortoise. ~SGGS Ji ang 1082 You write: Things are abundantly clear. You have answered everything with this statement. Thank you. The "Lady" with eight-arms is none other than the potency/shakti of the One Lord who is so vast and infinite that finite human beings cannot fathom His limits. So you are forced to acknowledge that Har Krishna is a form of the Akal Murat as per Gurbani. And if that is the case what business have Sikhs DISRESPECTING DEVATAY AND AVATARAY? IT IS SHAMEFUL! You write: It says nowhere "this is ONLY what Vaishnavs worship." Why do you insert that in there? It is in Gurbani. It is what Sikhs have ALWAYS bowed their heads and kesas down to. It is part of the eternal Truth. So it is also WHAT SIKHS WORSHIP! The entire pauri does not say, "Oh, the Vaishnav's are only worshipping His virtues. They are foolish. We Sikh's worship the One God because we are different from them." NO! It does not say that. It says THESE ARE ASPECTS, AVATARS OF THE ONE GOD. IT SAYS THESE ARE THE PARABRAHM, THE AKAAL MURAT, AJOONI, THE CREATOR, NIRANJANA, MUKUNDA, NARAYANA who is AGOCHAR, unfathomable, beyond human ability to grasp. So you, please, stop pretending to know, when clearly you have to deny and distort bani to prove your points. And I might add, all these descriptions of the One God are SANSKRIT. Because they are translations into Punjabi from Sanskrit and Braj Bhasha original teachings of VAISHNAV SAINTS. AND WHY IS THIS? BECAUSE GURU NANAK DEV JI WAS BORN IN THE HOUSE OF A HINDU. AND HE KNEW THESE TRUTHS. LEAST OF ALL HE DID NOT DESPISE THEM. Don't make the Guru out as despising the teachings from His own Gurbani. STOP HATING HINDU'S AND DEFENDING THIS THREAD WHICH IS TRASHING HINDU SCRIPTURES TO MAKE HINDU WOMEN OUT TO BE WHORES~! HOW DARE YOU USE GURBANI LIKE THIS. START ANOTHER THREAD IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS IT BECAUSE ALL YOU ARE DOING IS DEFENDING HINDU WOMEN AS WHORES, YOU IDIOT@! FYI, The Vedas never taught differently. Of course these are His manifested/kritam names. What name shall we call the Nameless and Formless? Over time in Kaliyug people forgot the original meaning and lost the worship of the One God to worship only the ritual. It has always been necessary to have a Satguru to bring the experince of God and best way to achieve mukti in Kaliyug when the Dharma bull has lost it's legs of religion is by practice of Naama Jap. Sorry to inform you, all of this is HINDU teaching from HINDU scriptures. Guru Ji is completely correct. I have no problems accepting Gurbani as DIVINE TRUTH Unquestionably and I bow my head and hairs to it a million times with deepest reverence. And it is equally clear that Guru Ji does not hate and reject Hindu's or even Hindu religious teachings direct from Hindu scriptures. Guru Ji is WARNING ALL OF US about fake worship, duality, and slavery to the panj bhutas. Guru Ji says Shiva is Naam of God, Krishna is Naam of God, Allah is Naam of God, and all these aspects are what? Gurbani says, the ONE GOD. Nowhere it says these are just His virtue, don't worship His virtue. It says ALL IS THE GOD and the God is beyond our understanding and even beyond our worship, but it does not say "Don't worship!" It says "Don't falsely worship." Don't falsely worship because of ignorance and love of duality and being a manmukh, which means following yourself as Guru. To obtain the highest, darshan of the God, you must have, what? A SATGURU! and what? That you must regularly do bhakti yoga practice of NAAM JAPO AND SANKIRTAN. And what is the Naam you Jap? It too comes from Vaishnavs, so how can they be worshipping falsely when the Vaishnav sant bhagats are teaching in the Guru's own bani and THOSE teachings in Gurbani have BECOME the GURU and have Gurgaddi? WAHEGURU V = Vishnu, Vasudeyv H = Hari Krishan G = Gobind R = Raam Everyday a Sikh chants the Holy Names of God, this is what he is chanting praise of, the sargun manifestations of the Akaal in form of His Divine Avtaray. And WHY the sargun Naams? BECAUSE THE NIRGUN IS BEYOND FORM AND BEYOND WORDS. HOW CAN YOU PRAISE THE UNFATHOMABLE ASPECT OF THE DIVINE? MOREOVER, how embarrasing for Sikhs to claim that it is okay to eat cow meat, when the very NAAM of God which is their own Gurmantra, WAHEGURU contains definition, title of the God as GOVINDA, the cow protector and friend. There is a reason why Jhatka is traditionally performed on goats and halal of cows meat is forbidden kureit. Moreover it is from the Vaishnavs that the teaching do not worship the demi-gods/aspects but only the One God Niranjana Hari Krishna Maha Vishnu the all-pervading comes from. Different sects empahsized Raam over Krishna, or Hari as Supreme. Guru Nanak has Raam Naam over 8,000 times in Gurbani and emphasizes the formless as the absolute. The sectarian influence is obvious, these were the Raam-Naami Vaishnav bhagats, not the Gaudiyas. It is sectarian differences only. Not a whole new religion. It has preserved exact same teachings and terminology. So don't distort what is actually Hindu religion(s) plural as being against Gurbani. Sanatana Dharma does not say every sect within Hinduism is the most correct. It simply teaches tolerance of all. Guru Ji ALSO taught this same tolerance and love of people to find the God whatever way they can. The teachings in Gurbani clearly reflect Vaishnav Sant Mat influence as coming directly from the Braj Bhasha writings of the Vaishnav sants. Or do you deny it? It is so obvious. Guruji does not contradict Vaishnavism, at all, but in fact teaches a form of it. This is completely in harmony with teachings of Mahaprabhu Chaitanya, for example. It is totally in harmony with Bhagavad-Gita (paraphrase) "Do not worship the lower aspects demi-gods of the created gunas and haumai, but even those who worship wrongly still come to ME." So Guru Ji is saying "be a good Hindu. Be a good Muslim. Be a good and sincere person." Nowhere Guru says to anyone, "Give up your religion because it is evil and false. Your scriptures are polluted." Because ultimately the One God is all in all. The highest worship is the worship of Ekongkar, in Vedas called as Ek Akshara Brahman, the One Divine Sound of the Maha Vakia of the formless. The Primal Nada Pranava OM which vibrates to give all mantras and shabad and NAAM the Presence and Power of the One God (All-Pervading aspect). It is the same He, One without a second, spoken of in Vedas who takes Vishwa swaroop (manifested form, birth in sansaara) any time the Dharma is in danger. EK AK SHARA. EK OM KARA. EMBARRASSING IGNORANCE. KEEP REJECTING VAISHNAV HERITAGE AND YOU REJECT YOUR OWN TRUTHS.
  18. His comments trash the very bani of Guru Sahib which speaks of the Vedas, Puranas and Smritis as being created by the God for leading people to morality, to the Naam and to requiring a Satguru. And from the Naam and Satguru and practice of morality, to mukti. Guru Ji was against intellectual argumentation which leads to egotism and ruins the spiritual life, but has said in Gurbani that The Vedas, Shastras and Smritis are contained in the Naam. Anyone who defiles the reputation of the Vedas, Shastras and Smritis then, is defiling what is the very Naam of our salvation. This isn't "my garbage." It is Guru's bani. Why are you people trashing that? I told you the teachings in Gurbani are based on Sanskrit translation and comes from Vedas and Upanishads. But you don't believe and prefer to call it all as garbage. Even Guru Sahib is saying the words, Vedas comes from the God. You don't believe. Even Guru Sahib is saying Naam contains all the wisdom of Vedas, Shastras and Smritis, and you prefer to trash like radical Muslim and Christian missionaries that Vedas, Shastras and Smritis contain only pornographic garbage, evil things, ignorance. And yet what does that say to the whole world about your attitude to Naam itself? Whatever your feelings for Sanatana Dharma/Hinduism, you can't erase it from Sikhi. If you are attacking it, you are attacking Sikhi. Maybe that is the reason Guru Sahibaan gave ther lives in defense of Sanatana Dharma. Just maybe there are some holy truths here which you would do better to study and reflect on then waste the life speaking ill of religious scriptures you know nothing about. It's shameful the degree of stupidity reflected here, in name of a "Sikh." You say he didn't say anything really bad? He made bani of Guru to look like a fool. When Guru Sahib says "Wonderful are the Vedas" and that "Vedas came from the God," and he is says from Vedas is cheap, disgusting, corrupted, pornographic things. That's not really bad? What is really bad then?
  19. She is the same "Lady" who is on the Sikh Battle Flag captured by British during the Anglo Sikh wars and on display in UK. She is the same "Lady" who name graces Chandigargh, and Chandi di Vaar, and who in another aspect is called Sarbloh and the Bagwati who is the All-steel Sword, KAL. She is known as the Sword and also as the Shakti for which people practice Sarbloh Bibek to empower themselves physically and spiritually at all times for combat. She is the One who is worshipped in the form of Shastars which are required to be made from same Sarbloh Steel so they carry the energy current of Her Shakti. You think people are just worshipping a piece of metal shaped like a shastar and not the energy of the power of God within it who is both aspects, nirgun AND sargun, and both aspects Mata Ji AND Pita Ji? God is an undivided unity of power which is "Gobinday, Mukhanday, Udharay, Aparay, Hariung, Kariung, Nirnamay, Akamay." Who is pervading ALL forms and ALL Divine forms and BEYOND form. Do you believe there is only One? Or do you believe there is many? You see, the many are representations of the One. There is only One all-pervading. The most complete aspect is the unknowable, unborn, undying, and without form. But only He Himself knows Himself. In the ultimate aspect, God is quite incomprehensible. And for this reason created the universes and devatay and jivas and takes form as avatars and Guru to guide his jivas to mukti. He is the Creator and He is Himself the Creation. Anṯar joṯ pargat pāsārā. The Lord of the Universe, the Lord of the world; with my mouth, I chant His Name. ~SGGS Ji ang 1082 The "person" with four arms in the above pauri is who is this same "lady" with eight arms. Obviously is not something physical and literal and so is not properly called as a "lady" who you can disrespect, but is symbolic of powers/shakti of the Divine. She is a representation of Divine Shakti/power and Her shastars are Shakti of the Divine Power. All forms are created out of the thrai gun and part of the impermanent sansaar. Akaal manifests in form and is beyond form in nirgun aspect, so that is nature of Akaal who is within and beyond Kal. We believe the Shabad-Jyot of Guru Ji is eternal Akaal, Guru God. Yet the bodies which Guru Sahib took form in have all crumbled to dust. We don't worship the impermanent aspect of God. We worship the eternal bani because the Shabad is the Divine Presence and has the Divine Light in it. And so when we do namaskar to Shri Guru Granth Sahib this is because we are not idol worshiping a book, or honoring paper pages and ink, but because the spiritual reality of the shabad is there within the form of those pages. We honor the eternal formless God who also takes form as Guru and as the bani. Representations of devatay are highly symbolic but within and beyond them has always been only the incomprehensible Oneness of the Divine who is All-pervading the creation. Without form, we would have no eyes to see, no brain to comprehend anything. And so in form, the formless One makes manifest for our benefit. But all this is His play. His powers are beyond comprehension. For generations Sikhi has worshiped and bowed down to the Shastars shown in Ma Devi's hands. That is what those 8 arms represents, Shastars. She is the form of the Divine Power representing unstoppable victory in war over enemies and who always triumphs over evil and injustice. Why else did Her name grace Chandigarh? Because She represent something trashy like you people make Her out to be? You trash yourselves and own heritage. You insult the very God with childishness.
  20. If you are not commenting against my objection and in his defense, then why are you even on here derailing this thread?
  21. Obviously this does not reflect any spiritual teaching which could be categorized as "Hindu." It is clearly a political and not a religious issue. Do you think Badal represents Sikhi? Why do you ignorantly assert that goondas represent Hindu religion? This incident reflects incredible corruption of the ruling Gandhi family and their autocratic power over Congress Party and their ability to intimidate the nation. PM of Congress Party today is Sikh. Is that also example of "Hindu" chauvanism? My point is politics can in no way define religion. Politics is the ultimate corrupter of religion! 1984 riots were instigated due to the influence of Rajiv Gandhi who was not a Hindu, but son of a Parsi Muslim. His children were raised as Roman Catholics and married Christians. Please tell me where is the "Hindu chauvanism? It was not act of "Hindu" chauvanism, but revenge for the assassination of his mother. These evil acts were committed by evil-minded people with political motives. Spiritual people do not go rioting. That is against the Dharma. And who taught the world about Dharma? Hindu religion. A man in a pagri who gets drunk, kills his neighbor, and rapes his neighbors wife, do you call him a "Sikh?" Do you call as "crimes committed by a Sikh?" Do you accuse as "example of Sikhs behavior?" Do you want people to act in kind by rudely insulting words of Guru Sahib to prove a point against him because he happened to be Sikh? Is that the lesson? Are you showing that in future people should defame bani of Guru Maharaaj because some "Sikh" people act like criminals? No wonder you're having problems with people on that other forum. LOOK IN THE MIRROR. To drag the respected memory of victims of 1984 riots into this topic is a disgrace. You don't represent them. You are USING THEM. Do victims of 1984 represent the comments here against religious scriptures, calling Hindu women as whores? You disgrace their memory. 1984 riots have nothing to do with disrespecting words of Guru Sahib about Vedas, Shastras and Smritis. 1984 riots can't give you any right to rudely defame Hindu religion. THAT has to do with low spiritual jeevan of people whose minds are bathed in the mud.
  22. Akaal_Das is writing offensive interpretations in mischievous way about the Vedas, Shastras and Simritis. Is this what Gurbani says? People are derailing about quarrels they have on other websites not even addressing the beadbi committed here under their very noses but in their ignorance can't see. People are dragging political problems to justify the bad behavior of their religious defamation, and all under the guise of Sikhi. But what does Sikhi really teach because that alone is the truth. That alone is the issue relevant here. What a sham for Sikhs you people are, who despise the words and teachings of your own Guru Sahibaan in order to make cheap insults against entire Hindu religion while pretending every Hindu is your hated, political enemy. You are your own enemies. O▫ankār beḏ nirma▫e. Ongkaar created the Vedas. vismāḏ nāḏ vismāḏ veḏ. You should be ashamed. And every one of you here defending his antics should also be ashamed. Be quiet now and use your words productively, to give praise and blessing. Isn't that the essence of religion? You have such wonderful opportunity to praise. But all you can do is pornographically defame and then point fingers at other people. What, are you 3 years old? What kind of man speaks like this hiding under wonderful word Sikh, meaning shishya, meaning OBEDIENT to the words of his Guru! Be obedient then. RESPECT the Vedas, Shastras and Smritis and DON'T DEFAME WHAT THE GURU HAS CALLED AS THE GOD, AS THE NAAM. You don't understand, Guru corrected the false, egotistical, intellectual understanding of the scriptures. But Gurbani also says the essence of the wisdom of these scriptures is the God, comes from the God, and teaches praise of the God through chanting the Holy Naam. So please, as Sikhs, stop disrespecting yourselves by disrespecting the Hindu bani because you are also unwittingly disrespecting the Guru bani.
  23. I have never had an account on the Hindu-Sikh brotherhood site. You will not find a single post by me written there. If they banned you what is it to do with me? If you were writing stupid and inflammatory things such as is posted at the beginning of this post that Hindu women are "whores," then no wonder you were banned. That is your problem. If you think Hindu's have a bad impression of Sikhism, then LOOK IN THE MIRROR AT HOW YOU REPRESENT IT. Thanks in advance. I posted here, in reaction to abusive talk degrading to Hindu women and Hindu religion beneath the dignity of a Sikh. What kind of Sikh speaks against my protest to defend that? Not much of one.
  24. I did not say the Dasm Granth was changed/edited by the British. I said the TRANSLATION of the Shri Dasam Granth was edited by the Tat Khalsa Singh Sabha scholars and abundant evidence exists they have banned Gurbilas, and marginalized purataan Gursikhi historical writings such as Janam and Sau Sakhi's, Prem Sumarag, Varran of Bhai Gurdas Ji, Sarbloh Granth, and Dasm Granth. It has taken over 60 years for the Singh Sabha reformists to produce a volume of Shri Dasam Granth to the public and it is filled with episodes of political controversy including some cases of excommunication of purist Tat Khalsa critics, namely Kala Afghana and Darshan Ragi. Are you denying this? The Udasi baba from Govind Sadhan which helped the Tat Khalsas (SGPC and Akal Takht) with the Sri Dasam Granth banis translation has his own translation which differs at significant points most glaringly in those verses which denounce the Hindu devatay/avataray. However, to refute a BLINDLY STUPID post which pornographically mischaracterizes Manu Smritis to degrade Hindu women as "WHORES" which it does not, but reflected the low mentality of the poster, to show a mirror in his face, I posted the relevent verses from the available English translation of Shri Dasam Granth to SHOW that GURUJI has spoken in entirely different way of Manu Smritis. Moreover, I explained that British have mischeiviously edited and changed Manu Smritis and that we cannot be sure exactly all the interpolations, but there are sources which discuss this in-depth in scholarly journals by researchers. And so this explains that Manu Smritis which Guruji has spoken of as reflecting the Hukam of God may not be accurately reflected in the version of Manu Smritis available to the public today. The Guru's did not sacrifice themselves defending any other faith, though I have no doubt you are correct in this observation, such was the magnificent spiritual jeevan of our great Guru Mahadev Nanak in all his forms. But the historical fact remains that Guru Sahibaan defended and sacrifieced themselves defending Hindu Panth, and for any political resentment you may personally hold, YOU CANNOT CHANGE THAT FACT. It's ironic that people like you are always trying to demonize Hindu religion with political events such as Operation Bluestar attack and 1984 riots. So a completely misbegotten secession movement and a horribly ill-conceived butchery to suppress it have become like candy products for consumer consumption. And the complex issues behind it get oversimplied into a fiction of the saint versus the demon, the holy Khalsas versus the unholy Hindu Indian government. But what really is the truth? Mohandas Gandhi's policies were not even "Hindu." He rejected "Hindu Rashtra" in favor of secular state. Nehru's family weren't "Brahmins" in the religious sense, but were outcaste Brahmins who were Arya Samajis. If Nehru could be described as anything, Hindu would not be it. He was a British aristocrat. Indira Gandhi's wedding to Feroze Khan, adopted by Gandhi and given Gandhi surname to make him acceptable to Hindus. The fact Nehru would wed his daughter to a Parsi Muslim is evidence of his own appeasement of Ganhi, because Gandhi was not a Hindu but a Jain who wanted unite all Indian elements in a secular state. Even Hindi language is a compromise. Gandhi tried to push Hindustani/Urdu to make Muslims happy. Right now Raj Thackery of RSS is having fits rejecting Hindi because Marathi should be spoken by Marathi officials. So language problem wasn't singling out Sikhs. The problems of modern Indian state are reflected in beliefs and ideology of Gandhi-Nehru dynasty as well as powerful attempts by British Raj to divide the nation by weakening Sikhs. The result was Sikhs has no real power, no representation in the new government. Starting off with Partition, a parting gift of the British which Gandhi in his Muslim appeasement would not resist (Remember the "Mahatma" was murdered by Hindus.) You see the key grievances which were inherited by Sikhs are legitimate, but blames of a "Hindu/brahmin" conspiracy are not proved. "Singling out of Sikhs as slaves" is not proved. Those are inflammatory exaggerations. What Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was preaching against was Hindus and sanatan Sikhs. So, when analyzing 1984, we need to look at militant activities prior to 1984. Obviously someone does not send in an Army without provocation. Right or wrong, what role did militant Sikhs play in agitating the disaster? And can this entire episode be honestly blamed on Hindus? For one thing, Indira Gandhi was married to a Muslim. Her son Sanjay was married to a Sikh. Her other son Rajiv was married to a Christian. This is a "Hindu persecution?" How? Militant HIndu's hate the Gandhi family and are estranged from Congress Party. Militant Hindu murdered Mohandas Gandhi. Where exactly is the "brahmin" conspiracy? Why did Operation Bluestar get pitted into a conflict between Hindu's and Sikhs in the first place? At the time of the action, a Sikh General led the Operation and was advising Indira Gandhi. At this time she also had trusted Sikh bodyguards. Her youngest and favorite son, who she was grooming to take power, Sanjay married Maneka Kaur, a Sikh. Where in the original scenario did the conflict between Sikh and Hindu occur? Sanjay Gandhi and wife Maneka, a Sikh. Youth Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi (garlanded), along with his wife Mrs Maneka Gandhi and S B Chavan, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, visits Gurdwara at Nanded (Maharashtra) on October 01, 1976. Sanjay Gandhi's wife Maneka Gandhi (centre) at the time of her mother-in-law Indira Gandhi's arrest by the CBI in New Delhi on October 3, 1977. Manmohan Singh as PM was not the first time Sikhs had reached close to the pinnacle of Indian power. Before Operation Bluestar, the Gandhi family's first son had already united Sikhs with Gandhis. Does this sound like the mythology we hear from Khalistanis about "Hindu hate of Sikhs and efforts to repress them?" Sikh General's. Sikh daughter-in-law. Sikh bodyguards. What is "anti-Sikh" about it? Sikhs are front and center in nearly every photo of Sanjay and Maneka Gandhi. Were Sikhs really "slaves" in India? How do you go from being a prominent and successful community with above average representation in the military and police forces, have a Sikh intermarried into the first family and become "slaves?" At this point we see that the Indian government itself was hijacked into a state of emergency in an authorian attempt at dictatorship. So by no means can the unfolding events of history consider this leadership of Indira Gandhi as any kind of "democracy." Yet, Khalistani Sikhs throw a million torches of hot words resenting the corrupted "democracy" of India which worked for Hindus but not for Sikhs. And in truth, it was Hindu indians falling into those categories of having housing bulldozed without compensation and forced sterilization. So the system at that time, didn't even represent a democracy. And it was certainly no injustice for Sikhs compared to the general population. Clearly something is distorted here. You say you worship Divine Truth Satinaam Siri Waheguru? Then speak the truth and not distortions! Are you really daring to imply that Punjabi Sikh culture is free from abuses against women? Let's not even go there, it is the biggest hypocritical joke that females are actually safer in Hindu then in Sikh communities, and not due to any corruption of holy Sikhism, but due to corrupt people totally violating it. So stop throwing stones at Hindu's and fix your own glass houses first. Your argument is a joke, and in a thread which starts by claiming Hindu women as whores, and this out of the mouth of a professed "Sikh." It really shows that high mentality and valuation of females doesn't it? <--that's sarcasm. You people who write like this are a disgrace to Sikhi and endless blaming of Hindu's will not improve you. REFORM YOURSELVES FIRST!
  25. Are you really this insulting and this ignorant? Manu Smritis are not even Sruti for Hindus. Can you show where it says in Gurbani that Sikhs should attack and mock other religions? Please! Because I would like to understand your personal justification for writing anti-Hindu garbage like this, which I have read also from radical Muslim missionary propagandists intent on undermining Hindu relgion to convert people. Is that what you think Sikh religion is about? Trashing other people's religions to propagate what? hatred against people? Do you know anything about your own faith and heritage? Do you understand that the Manu Smritis were edited by the British and changed? This is what Dasm Pita Ji writes about Manu Smritis. So why are you taking bits and pieces out of context from various Hindu scriptures in order to mock and revile them when your own Guru Sahib didn't even do that? Who in the hell are you? Some cheap dirty-minded little punk spreading anti-Hindu hatred? All the people were absorbed in Shravak Religion (Jainism) and all abandoned the action of Dharma. All of them forsook the service of the Lord and none worshiped the Supreme preceptor (the Immanent Lord).1. The saints became devoid of saintliness and all abandoned the action of Dharma; Then the Immanent Lord ordered Vishnu, who did as commanded.2. Vishnu manifested himself as king Manu and propagated Manu Smriti in the world. He brought all the corrupt persons on the right path and cursed the people to become devoid of sinful actions.3. Vishnu incarnated himself as the king Manu and established all the actions of Dharma. If anyone committed a sin, he was now killed and in this way, the king made all his subjects to tread on the right path.4. ~Shri Dasam Granth pg. 496 When did Sikhism ever mock the faith of other people, let alone the same Hindu faith which Guru Arjan Dev Ji and Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji gave their lives to defend? Har Krishan was his son; after him, Tegh Bahadur became the Guru.12. He protected the forehead mark and sacred thread which marked a great event in the Iron age. For the sake of saints, he laid down his head without even a sign.13. For the sake of Dharma, he sacrificed himself.
