  1. To the last post it seems very intresting how Nirankar in sargun saroop can have characteristics such as red lips, masaccared eyes, glowing cat eyes, glowing fair skin (badami) and how the sufi and hindu saints used to sing about this and it turned into other types of songs now from kalaam and kirtan to kawali and bhangra now. As for taking the bull by the horns it can be painful, lets say the bull can put it's horns into your heart - i.e. The standard rejection line- "I barely Know you", "Your like a brother/sister to me", "it is not you it is me" But I get how little we can think in terms of how great God may want for us.
  2. To be very honest with you, you seem to have a normal case of the blues. Depression is common- FIX your diet eat plenty of greens avoid sunflower oil, fatty food, avoid sugarry stuff, avoid junk food, avoid fizzy drink, drink 2-4 ltrs of water a day, eat 5 fruits veg, eat 3 meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Have fruit snacks such as oranges apples etc. This health is a state of well being - physical, mental and social so you have to balance it. Religious schools of thought teach alot, Sikhi has alot of gun take, the gun of both Sikhi and west- WE all go through these problems and other illness of the ego all these things are interconnected and related. Keep positive keep optimisitc - i.e. There is half a glass full of water not half a glass empty- there is good and bad, focus on the good. Watch comedies, keep good company make new friends crack jokes, watch movies keep healthy.
  3. Fateh Ji, Its really normal for people to have crushes would like to ask how you got over your own crushes and what you suggest to others on how they can?
  4. We make the pain or pleasure in our life based on our actions, if you are in pain, crying and depressed you are clearly living in hell on this earth. People live in heaven on this earth, be greatful to God for every breath he gives you he kisses you on the lips with it. As for the getting married thing your parents know you more then you think, and it may look like you may be having lack of companionship issue which is very very normal- to control kaam take up a sport, gym, talk to penjis to be ok with yourself. The friends you have are what you get from your kamai, if you feel there paapi, then hence so are you.. we all do negative things in different amounts and different types such as insulting, gossiping, backchatting people which can be as negative as adultery, drugs and booze. You have to control your positivity focus on the good in life, make some friends, talk chill out realax, do your paath, do sewa, change the way you see life. If you go to India your problem will follow you, you will have hell there as well. Your peace and God are within, Life is great. The reason we suffer is because we desire. So control yourself.
  5. My opinon there is more Sikhi in the west as for avastha, you will get hints from maya all the time, what the people around you say about you.. including your parents on how to improve- such as fix krodh, kaam etc. There is alot of Sikhiii alot-- but you will get the sangat your kamai gets you. If you want to see real powerful saints (saints are not just limited to Sikh school of thought they come from every religion - "nai koi hindu, nai koi musalman") what you need to do is focus on improving yourself to the next level - its from 3 things "Simran, Sewa and Satsangat" you need all 3- to do all you need sangat of people with kamai, go to gurdwara diwans go around - go to kamai wale jatha damdami taksal, akj, neshkam sewak jatha, nanaksar, rarasahib, all these movements have alot of Sikhi but be careful with the negativity push the positivity it is easy to fall into traps, learn keep learning. Sikhi is where guru maharaj kirpa is you do not need to go on pilgrimages maharaj is everywhere- and most of all Guru Nanak taught grist jeevan you can attain God living in a family in fact a family will help you more- live in material but do not be attached to it. There are lots of BOOSTED people in the west, just get your kamai there and you will see masters yourself from all tradations and religions- the ridhi sidhi to see peoples hearts and kamais comes with time but keep sharda and even people of less kamai have lessens to teach even animals, nature can be masters to learn your lessons from. Part of spirtual kamai is you will get material kamai, the richest people have strong spiritual practices for why maya attacks them more.
  6. I am the main issue. I need to fix myself do my nitnem, do satsangat, wakeup amritvela, keep away from negativity and increase my positivity in SIkhi, If I can do all of this there would be no problems at all, to be a jyot to light more divas of Sikhi.. So I will try to fix myself... I am hooked to the wine of maya
  7. 'Xylitol' what is the prupose of the maryada then to have head covered in darbar, wasn;t Guru darbard Guru Nanak and Bhai mardana and wherever they would sit, hence it could have been infront of uncoverred heads. Maybe out of Indja.
  8. The ancestors thing really caught my attention, do you have gurbani like evidence or source, I wish to look more into this. Also, I thought dharma cancels out karma, we all generally do ardas when we are not well, but if it is so as our karam should we just leave it and just do ardas saying to accept the will of god.
  9. VJKK VJKFji Satsangat Jio, I would like to ask the purpose of covering the head? In terms of we understand a gift of sardari, but some people may see as an imposed thought. During the raj of maharaja patialla they would not let anyone into there darbars without wearing dastars, and today Namdharis do not let anyone in without turbans. But in tradational Sikhi gurdwaras ramallas are placed outside and we have children who run around in darbar without head covered. This then results in people telling off these kids, even though we came to pray for ourselves and ask God to forgive our mistakes instead of looking at others mistakes. Leaving with krodh, as well as telling innocent children who are closer to God then we may be, our Guru is in all and we missed seeing it in them. Why is the idea of a gift of dastar being forced on others, without the understanding associated? Also do you think it may be okay to air out the head at times, in a long hot day with a dastar, sitting at home, which alot of Sikhs tend to do. When we see paintings of bhagats of sri guru granth shahib sometimes like bhagat ravidas and baba sheikh farid are shown without dastars. Additionally could you also tell me about when the tradation of separating women and men in sangat started? We tend to say women men equal, generally for concentrating in Gurdwara people see it as good, but in langar halls they mix, and we can even see some Sikhs dating, kissing, hugging in guru ghars now a days- in Sikhs soc programmes when kirtan is done men and women sit together instead of splitting up like Gurdwara what are your views there, as well as forcing people out of the Sikh tradation to wear ramalls. Is it wrong to listen to gurbani without head covered?- please do not take offence, I pray for answers, satnaam. Bhul Chuk Maaf Karna Jio VJKK VJKFji
  10. I had a leaflet once from a gurdwara on full arth of ardas where it came from the words araj and das. And the lists of wrong things to ask and right things. Is it wrong to pray to meet a girl who can become a wife (bearing in mind I am approaching age of marriage) or would One just go about leaving everything to maharaj, is the desire not wrong. I have used that as an example ofcourse in life the wishlist grows but thats just a typical example where I can see there being conflict. Do you believe that praying for something not happen may take effect when in fact we should pray for the opposite, so negative prayers such as "god take away my pain" may not go answered where "god give me good health" may come to be. Maybe if anyone has the leaflet it can help. I have seen these videos on the idea of prayer repackaged and rebranded as something called "the law of attraction" its really huge in america due to the fear of religion in the modern world now.
  11. I have contacted food standards agency in UK in regards to this matter and recieved this response, Thanks. "Thank you for your email concerning sugar being carbon filtered using bones. This is a very old fashioned method for sugar production and is not usually used today. We have spoken to both major sugar producers in the UK and Tate and Lyle discontinued this process many years ago and British Sugar have never used it. Small third world producers may use this process but most sugar on sale in the UK will be filtered by other means. There is unlikely to be any health risk from bones, as they will have been incinerated to carbon." Food Standards Agency
  12. Whaeguru Ji Ka Khalsa Whaeguru Ji Ke Fateh Ji Dear all, I would like to ask what motivates you to pray (whence what should one use to motivate self), perhaps from gurmat someone could answer this and elborate on such a thing, do we pray because we suffer and desire happiness- but does this not conflict itself because a GurSikh should accept dukh and sukh as the same, and sukh is a rog it will make us forget God. Do we pray because we desire to go to heaven, is that not greed in itself? Or do we pray for wordly things, xbox360, girls, good grades, money, cars, offspring, houses, prosperity (maya) which in effect will break us away from God? Do we pray because someone has forced us to, if such a thing happens is it really prayer if its not from the heart? I was once quote a line from either Baba Farid ji or Baba Kabir ji on how desire brings us close, so by offering food in langar it brings people closer to come for God, so by giving food in Gurdwara its not a bad thing (bribery), please could someone give that line of gurbani or similar. Please give personal and impersonal answers. Is the idea of gain the opposite of what Sikhs should be doing should we not be perusing sacrifice instead, if such a case what brings one to do such. How does one accept the true will of God (satgur da panne)? Thanks Bhul Chuk maaf Karna Whaeguru Ji Ka Khalsa Whaeguru Ji Ke Fateh Ji

The prophet muhammad is talked about in Sri Dasam Granth http://www.sridasam.org/dasam?Action=Page&p=135&english=t&id=68437 "Then I created Muhammed, who was made the master of Arabia.26. He started a religion and circumcised all the kings. He caused all to utter his name and did not give True Name of the Lord with firmness to anyone.27. Everyone placed his own interest first and foremost and did not comprehend the Supreme Brahman. When I was busy in the austere devotion, the Lord called me and sent me to this world with the following words.28." "Page 99, Line 1 Many Muhammads had been on the earth. They were born and then died in their own times. 27." "Page 1289, Line 3 Ram, Muhammad, Krishna, Vishnu etc., All were destroyed by this sword of KAL; crores of measures, but without the devotion of One Lord, no one achieved redemption.5.79." If one considers the qur'an to be a revelation of God what does it mean when Prophet muhammad is called the seal of the prophets which most Muslims translate is last final prophet apart from a few who say it means he is the prophet of grace. Islam tells of a messiah, mediah or christ to come a redeemer or saviour which are attributes that belong to the Gurus, What is the connection between the traditions please can I have a peaceful answer not one full of hateful separatist interpretation. And where would Jesus, Jesus, Joseph, Abraham fit in to Sikhism teachings? Bhul Chuk Maaf VJKK VJKFJi
