  3. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa, Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh For a few months now, i've been thinking about going to india to do some seva in orphanages. I was wondering if anyone has any information of the different orphanages in punjab, and also if there's any particular formalities which i must undergo in order to do seva. I am especially interested in Guru Aasra, the orphanage which Bhai Fauja Singh's wife now directs. Any information would be great. Thank you in advance Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa , Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh
  4. Gur Fateh I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on the mentioned groups. What are their beliefs. I also have heard that Sikhs are not supposed to interact with Nirankaris. Any facts would be great to know. thank you, Guru Raakha
  5. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh Im looking forward to the detail which will be discussed in this thread. I, myself am a true believer in Nihang Maryada. It's always so great to share our beliefs and learn interactively. Somehow it's easier to understand things. AKAAAAAAAL!!!!!
  6. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh I believe that when it comes to naam simran, when we do it out loud, it is almost a baby step TOWARDS that inner simran... For ME, that's my ultimate goal... to have naam so deeply intertwined within me that every breath i take, every beating of my heart, actually say's 'vaheguroo'. To me that would kinda be me and akaal purakh as one entity.... where akaal purakh is the ocean, and we are a drop of water from that ocean..... when that naam is inside of you, you would become one with that ocean again. Remember RupZ, sometimes mahraj IS our thoughts. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh
  7. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh "when u wear big kara's i doubt u intend to take your hairs off" That's exactly what i mean, Singh Jee, If you dont intend to take hair off, or if you take it off for your health, and you're not purposely trying to destroy your rehit, then is it such a big deal? What do you think? Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh
  8. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh I know there's many many girls out there who would prefer a clean shaven guy, rather than a kesh-dhari... but most of those girls dont have a lot of sikhi within them anyways. Someone who has sikhi inside of them, would see that a man with kesh, and a long beard, is the most BEAUTIFUL roop! I used to be the same type of girl, wanting the clean shaven guy, but mahraj did bakhshish on me. Trust me, you guys who keep your kesh have NOTHING to worry about, you'll find those girls who will see you in the roop of the khalsa, and they will fall in love instantaneously. KHALSA MERO ROOP HAI KHAAS!!! - remember, we're khaas (important) Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh
  9. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh I agree that sants and maha purash's need to be given the respect they deserve, however personally, i dont agree with those who put their sants ahead of mahraj. Akaal Purakh is only one (ik oangkaar), and no other human could ever become close to mahraj. I would touch the feet of a sant also but when do we know which are genuine and which aren't? 10. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh I respect everyone's beliefs, but at the same time I think this decision is more of a personal preference. I know we should all respect our kesh, and N30 singh jee, i respect u immensly for your decision, however just a few questions. What happens when we wear big karras on our wrists and some of the hair comes off in those areas... and what happens if we get rug burn and some hair burns off with that? It is quite common that when a woman goes into labour, hair is removed in the process of child birth. I think personally i wouldn't do pesh for something like child birth. Mahraj has given me a duty to add to our panth, and whatever needs to be done, should be done. Obviously it's wrong to intentionally cut our kesh, but at the same time, in situations that can't be avoided, it should be the individual's choice whether they think it's wrong or right to have the hair removed. 11. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh I was blessed with amrit a year ago and donned my dastaar a week after that. For a full year i was a bit lost within my sikhi and it's only a few months ago that i realised why i was lost... When it comes to males, they have so many role models within sikhi- physically and spiritually. However for women it's harder. Women are supposed to look like women, not like Guru Gobind Singh Jee. The sad part is that STILL until this day, there's not many sikhi women role models or leaders for us. So without guidance, it's sooooooo much harder for us to find our sikhi, wouldn't you say? ---- Any suggestions on what to do about this?---- Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh
