An Army court martial has found Major General A K Lal guilty of sexually harassing a lady captain. His dismissal is subject to confirmation by the Army HQ and the Ministry of Defence.

Major General Lal was heading the Leh-based 3 Infantry division last year when a lady captain complained against him.

The General was immediately removed from his post and kept confined to Army formations first at Srinagar and then at Bhatinda in Punjab.

The court martial took less than a year to hand out the verdict.

The court martial proceedings against Lal were concluded at the Bhatinda-based 10 corps on Saturday.
