The woman approached Ludhiana police commissioner Paramraj Singh Umranangal accusing Singh of also forcing her to abort a pregnancy and then cutting of ties with her. An inquiry has been marked at the Koom Kalan police station in Bhaini Sahib but no FIR has been registered yet. Sub-inspector Surjit Singh Nagra, station house officer of Koom Kalan, said the police would register a case “after verifying the facts”. Singh, who is also a deputy superintendent of police in his native state Haryana, was unavailable for a comment. Hailing from Leeds, the woman claimed the pair had met during the London Olympics in 2012 and began dating soon after.
