Please share Exegesis Techniques.

Anvay Arth

This refers to interpreting the meaning by moving around the words.

Example 1:

First Arth:

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਛਾਡਿ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਲੇ ਆਯਾ ਮਾਲੁ ॥੧੧੫॥

He has given up meditating on the Lord, in order to bring home wealth. 

Second Arth (based on the technique above):

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਛਾਡਿ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਲੇ ਆਯਾ ਮਾਲੁ ॥੧੧੫॥

He has brought the meditation of the Almighty Lord home and left all the vices.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਘਰਿ ਲੇ ਆਯਾ - He has brought the meditation of Sri Waheguru jee home

ਛਾਡਿ ਕੈ ਮਾਲੁ  - He has left all the vices.

Example 2:

First Arth:

ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜਲਿ ਮੂਏ ਮੂਰਖ ਉਬਰੇ ਭਾਗਿ ॥੧੭੨॥

The Pandits, the religious scholars, have been burnt to death, while the illiterate ones run to safety. 

Second Arth (based on the technique above):

ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜਲਿ ਮੂਏ ਮੂਰਖ ਉਬਰੇ ਭਾਗਿ ॥੧੭੨॥

The Pandits, the religious scholars, have run to safety, while the illiterate ones have been burnt to death.

ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਉਬਰੇ ਭਾਗਿ - The Pandits, the religious scholars, have run to safety.

ਜਲਿ ਮੂਏ ਮੂਰਖ - the illiterate ones have been burnt to death.

Borrowing Matras

ਸੁਣਿਐ ਸਰਾ ਗੁਣਾ ਕੇ ਗਾਹ ॥

There are many arths of the above verse.

Arth (based on the technique)

The "Kanna" (in the word "ਸਰਾ") is borrowed by "Sassa" from "Rarra", which results in the word "ਸਾਰ" (best). Therefore the Arth is as follows

By listening to Gurbani, one attains the best qualities.
