Translations:

"Behold! How a wish has been fulfilled by Holy and High Providence. That the building of Baba Nanak has been newly built with the help of seven autat (great valis). That the happy murad of God (Baba Nanak) has started a fountain of grace issuing new water in the land. 917 Hijri"

Bit of history:

After having travelled to Madina, Guru Nanak Dev ji soon arrived in Baghdad and took up a position, along with Mardana, outside the city. Guru Nanak Dev ji shouted the call to prayer, on which the whole population became wrapt in silent astonishment – the Guru omitted the usual words Muhammad ar Rasul Allah, and substituted Arabic words of a similar sound to express his own ideas, hence the astonishment.

The pir (saint) of Baghdad, Bahlol Dana on meeting face to face with the enthusiastic stranger, inquired who he was and to what sect he belonged. The Guru greeted him with his customary ‘Sat Kartar’ and replied, “I have appeared in this age to indicate the way unto men. I reject all sects, and only know one God, whom I recognise in the earth, the heavens, and in all directions.”

Upon this the Guru began to repeat the Japji. As the pir listened to his doctrines he said, “This is a very impious fakir. He is working miracles here, and informing us, contrary to the authority of our Holy Quran, that there are hundreds of nether and upper regions, and that at last men grow weary of searching for them.”

There are nether worlds beneath nether worlds, and hundreds of thousands of heavenly worlds above.

The Vedas say that you can search and search for them all, until you grow weary.

The scriptures say that there are 18,000 worlds, but in reality, there is only One Universe.

If you try to write an account of this, you will surely finish yourself before you finish writing it.

O Nanak, call Him Great! He Himself knows Himself. ||22||

The pir then called upon the Guru to give a manifestation of his power. Upon this, it is said, the Guru laid his hand on the high priest’s son and showed him the upper and lower regions described in the Japji.

Gurfateh

As per Bhai Bala Janm Sakhi there were a few Punjabi Muslim pilgrimes who acted as tranlator in arebic initialy but as we know that our Guru had an ability to learn many language due to his aptitude it seems that Guru Ji could have lerant the arebic quite fast.

Das would like to say that it may take about two to three weeks for an India who knows Urdu to have workable knowlegde of arebic.305@ Urdu is arebic.Same can not be said for Pakistanis as they are rigid for Urdu and will bring Urdu while lkearning Farsi or Arebic.

Next thing is that in past due to Islam Arebia was a tolarant soacity and Fantics were more due to the pagan Arebic or turk influneces.

And Guru was such a personality of fearlessness that Fanatics had so tender defeat to Guru.Had they not shown respect to Guru then they would have met the same fate as Pagan Arabs met while not showing respect to Prpphet Mohemud (PBUH).

Re-read the text of the mira'j of the Prophet (sawas) and you'll see a mention of the multiplicity of universes. Regarding the number 18.000 it is an abritrary number just signifying that there are multiple universes apart from ours.
