Author: Mandeep Singh Date: 05-21-07 12:24 Newly constructed Khalsa Primary School, Slough will be opening in Sept 07. The brand new state of the art facilities will include a Guru Kar onsite. The primary purpose of having Guru Granth Sahib Ji present will be progress the spiritual development of the children of the school. Together with national curricular syllabus based around Sikh values the school will have additional lessons covering a wide range of Sikhi related areas including kirtan, gurbani path and santhyia classes aimed specifically for the younger generation of Sikhs. The school is therefore actively looking to recruit a suitable person who can impart their wide ranging sikhi knowledge and wisdom to children ranging from 5 to 11. The ideal person will be fully conversant with Akaal Takhat Sikh Rehat Maryada and have the ability to lead services in the Gurudwara in accordance to Sikh Rehat Maryada. He/she should be able to relate and communicate effectively with children, teach gurbani, kirtan (including instruments) and be a role model for the pupils of the school. We are primarily seeking a person who has spent most of their lives in the UK but suitable candidates from outside the UK will be considered subject to necessary work permits being obtained. The role will be salary based and not dependent on donations made by sangat.
