Do we have someone and has guts to speak against any orthodox thinking ?

Recommended Posts

Namdhari sikh head Thakur Dalip singh had made a point with no artefacts from gurbani held at World Hindu Congress Summit Chicago to Oblige Hindu Community. If it is just a question of pleasing Hindus and RSS then Dalip singh wouldn’t have made a valid argument on stage that “Why the conference is not been conducted using just Hindi Language ?”

Secondly, Dalip Singh Thakur requested with a question in front of RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat to suppress Hindutva and bring bhartiyatav. For making such a bold statements one need to be brave heart like Dalip Singh who earlier too made a reasonable point that Sikhs have independent identity and that should remain independent.

It is only Dalip singh Thakur who speaks straightforward in front of Hindu community and brought reasonable statement to think about. Do we have someone and has guts to speak against any orthodox thinking ?

Sikhism is not as orthodox a religion as some might wish to believe. Few years back when a certain Sikh spokesman spoke in French to the hindutva they didn’t understand what was said, even the French were not able to decipher anything from his speech. The issue they were discussing was to do with the Sikh turban. Should they be allowed to wear it in public?

Let’s put it another way, the RSS, is not very modern culturally. The only culture they know is the one depicted in Bollywood as opposed to punjabi culture, which is mostly depicted in green farms of Punjab with cows running hither and tither and farmers laughing and smiling because their farms have yielded a good harvest. I don’t really know what more can I say. I have the balls to say what is think but words always fail me, especially when I am faced with the RSS, the hindutva or even just a group of hindu militants, for they are definitely a force to be reckoned with. I wish I could say more to answer your query, I know you are desperate, but sorry, can’t oblige.

Panjabi is not international enough language, not yet anyways. What’s the difference between Hindutavs and Bhartiyatavs? Who are they? Where do they live and what do they do? Sikh is not an ancient religion, it’s only been around for little more than half a century. It’s a young and vibrant religion! Adherents of Sikh religion always come across as cheery and ebullient, not like some frustrated others. They also be so exuberant and full of irrepressible energy, ready to help, feed, clothe and what not helpless others. It could definitely be because of their lifestyle back in Punjab where they live on farms, drive big tractors, rear those lovely brown cows for milk only, for they be only vegetarians and not meat eaters! God bless them for feeding millions people everywhere. I was told to feed the poor and hungry is their religious precept. How nice! But sikhs be very modern peoples, I think.

It's been around for longer than 50 years.

I think you may be a bit misled here. Not all Sikhs live like this, and many Sikhs are not vegetarian (although many are).
