  1. About the question of : Can A Sikh Do Namaz? ਜਪਿ ਏਕੁ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ॥ Jap Eaek Alakh Apaar Pooran This Binaa Nehee Koee || Meditate on the One, Unseen, Infinite, Perfect Lord; there is no other than Him. * In the verse above, Guru Jee tells us to only meditate on the one and only Lord Alakh Purukh/Akal Purukh/Waheguru. ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਾ ॥ Bhaae Bhagath Subhaae Har Jap Aapanae Prabh Bhaavaa || With loving devotional worship, I meditate intuitively on the Lord, and my God is pleased. *And in this verse above, we come to understand, that whatever type of devotion we perform, it is done not for pleasing ourselves, nor the society, but , for the only purpose of pleasing our beloved Waheguru, for by doing the devotional worship of meditating on Him, as seen above in the words of Fifth Patshahee, it is then only, when He is pleased. So no need for any other practices or namaaz, for in the devotional meditation on Him, we get there where He is, right within us . Any other practice apart of meditating on Him keeps us outside and away from him, howsoever popular and historical could those practices be. Bhakti as per Guru Sahiban in the verse below, is the only bhakti we ought to do. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਸਦਾ ਭਜੁ ਜਗਦੀਸਰੈ Binavanth Naanak Sathigur Dhrirraaeiaa Sadhaa Bhaj Jagadheesarai Prays Nanak, the True Guru has taught me this, to vibrate and meditate forever on the Lord of the Universe. 2. Bhakti of Waheguru, is the highest expresion of Love. For any other love, be it of a parents for their child, of 2 lovers, of a child for the parents, howsoever high, yet there is maya in it. For even by giving that much love, there is still separatedness, there are frictions many a times throughout the course of lives. But is only by loving and devoting ourselves to Waheguru alone, that we get rid of all of our impurities, lose our false individuality, and merge in our beloved, by becoming one with Him. This oneness with Him, is the best and highest expression of Love, and apaar kirpa, for if, had He not pull us from within, we would have never even think of Him. SSA.
  3. Brother, the science offers goodness, it is we the people who use it for bad purposes. For example like a knife, one can use it to cut vegeatbles to prepare food, while in a bad way some use it to harm others. Science by itself can never be bad, it is the misuse of it, that is bad, and makes the world worse. SSA.

  6. Kal is no independent being by itself. He is a servant of Akal Purukh, and who under His Hukum, is administrating the triloki creation. All gods, prophets, incarnations, are his creations, his messengers to keep the creation going on, until, it is His mauj, to pack up the creation and abosorb all and everything into Him, just as in the initial stage. But while, the creation can go on for Yugas after Yugas, yet by His apaar kirpa, according to Gurbani, if anyone holds on only to just His one Nam (here no chaturaee, no rituals, no nonsense , or cheatings); then one can get up lifted from this mayavee perishable creation and reach Nijh Ghar of Sach Khand. SSA.
  7. Hello Ajay, welcome. It is true, many religions describe the divnity as luminous energy, just as you mention in your post above. But as we all know, lights have different intensities. For example, we have a candle light, a tube light, a 20 watts bulb, or even a 100 watts one, just to mention a few sources... So, if the creator is for example like a Sun, then we souls having emanted from Him, are just as rays of that Sun. And just as all rays are the same, each one of them carrying the same light, the same heat.... in that sense, we all souls are same, above any barriers such as genders, classes, caste, dharam, mazab, color, race, etc etc and etc ....the list is endless. In Gurbani, in the Aarti, we come to know something on this respect: Sabh meh jot, Jot hae soee Which means, His light is in everything, He Himself is the Light. Other thing is, as per our own different karmas, we are born in different cultures, in different countries, in different religions, different races...etc But all these conditions are outer aspects, which differ in each birth of the chaurasee ka chakar .... and yet the stupids, and profoundly mentally disabled, create conflicts among themselves, hatred, thirst for blood, by killing whosoever do not think alike ...utter madness, and yet they call themselves spiritually adavnced or gyanis, or even the priest class people. Mostly all look at the different sizes and colors of the boxes, and make classifications/discriminations, as per those outer aspects, which are temporary and perishable, and yet, the essence of Truth in them all as souls, is the same in all. Such a pity, blinds commiting attrocities and unjustice. Almost everybody forgets that, nobody is better or superior to anyone else. It is just that by their own past karam, and in accordance with the Law of Nature, (as you sow, so shall you reap),each one as said above, is born in different envoirements, such as color, caste, gender, nationality, dharam or mazab..... All this is done strictly and carried under the universal law of karma. Nobody can alter it, nor bribe nature. Religious scriptures are full of references and examples, to this one law. In the Bible it says: even the hair on your body is numbered. (Nothing happensjust like that). In the Bani we read: Aapay beejeh, aapay khaaey.( You sow, you reap and eat). Going back to the point of Light as divinity mentioned in different religions, it could be well said, as all beings are also light, whether devis, devtays, incarnations, gods, godesses, angels...etc, absolutley all beings carry the light of their origin. Some beings have less or almost no stain of karmas, thus they are purer, their glass covering is not so dirty, so in them the light or purity shines more... some are heavy sinners, their glass covering is so dirty, that there is absolute darkness, ignorance, no morality in them .... and so on.... yet in the very depth of all of them, the flame of the divine is the same in all, no less, no more, no partiality. Moreover, in the infinite creation all beings are like stars in the sky, yet there is one Infinite Sun also, absolutley brilliant, full of refulgence, full of mercy, full of Love. And refering to the Light of this Highest Consciousness, Supreme and eternal Truth, Gurbani tells us: Je Sau Chanda Ugveh Sooraj Chareh Hazaar , Ete Chanan Hundeya(n) Gur Bin Ghor Andhar. If a hundred moons were to rise, and a thousand suns appeared, even with such light, there would still be pitch darkness without the Guru. And this Guru, is no other than the Aad Guru, or call it Satnam, or Waheguru also. Ooch apaar, beant Soami. So you see, each one talks of light as divinity as per their own reach or level of consciousness. According to their escalated heights, that they view that light and took it as ultimate reality. But in Gurbani, Guru Sahiban, Bhagat Jan, Gurmukhs, Sant Jan, having witnessed the refulgence and Light of that Supreme Being, Parbrahm Parmeshwar, namely Akal Purukh, Waheguru or Satnam; describe and share with us, the majesty, the inmensity, the akhoot Jot, of that One Universal Supreme Power. You see, there is a vast difference between these Purest Beings: Guru Sahiban, Sant Jan, Gurmukhs, and the rest of the beings, howsoever prophets or endless list of gods there may be. While the former, see only the Jot of Waheguru in all, thus unite humanity as equal, and give the gift of His bhakti to all alike; the limited blind ones, divide and discriminate, thus remain prisoners in the mayavee creation. If have any chances, just dive deep into the Bani, and savour the Amrit of Nam contained in it, for the ultimate purpose of blending into that Anhad Bani as one without distinction. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.

  10. A couple came home at midnight after having a good time at a restaurant, only to find the smell of gas around the house. The man went to the kitchen and detected a stronger smell. The subconscious mind pushed him to turn on the light. and the kitchen exploded, the husband died instantly and the wife was moved to intensive care where she still remains. The furniture was seen 200 metres from the house, which meant that the gas pipe explosion was stronger than a bomb. The lesson from this appalling incident is as follows: When you smell the gas do not turn on the light, but open all the doors and windows calmly, so that no spark occurs, then close the gas tube and do not turn on the light until the smell of gas completely disappears. Also do not open the refrigerator if you smell the gas, because it also causes an explosion, and even the suction fan do not switch it on because it has an electrical charge, just open the windows. You should not read this letter alone, publish it as much as you can, so it may be helpful to as many people as possible.

  13. Can A Sikh Do Namaz? By Mr Sardar, December 5, 2010 in Sikhism. Brother, for sure one should do namaaz, not once, twice, or be it a 101 times, if it could only take you nearer towards Waheguru. According to the teachings of Guru Sahiban and Bhagat Jan, that Akhoot Jot, Anhad Bani, Amrit Bani, Nam, Shabad Guru, the true and eternal reality, is not anywhere outside, but right within us. So brother, in reality, any practice which does not take us to our beloved Akal Purukh, but keep us confined in the mayavee mental spheres, should be discarded. For it is Waheguru Akal Purukh only, what counts for us, every other thing which does not take us towards Him, is just"koor"; so as such, should be discarded at the earliest, and do only that what pleases Him. Stay blessed. SSA.
  14. "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant."
    - Robert Stevenson

Note: This beautiful quotation above, took me towards another beautiful point, which is that, we too should not be judgemental about our daily life, for there is hardly much we can do as per our pralabdh karam; but yes, we  should be attentive and ask ourselves about many seeds of Waheguru´s Naam, have we planted today in the soil of our minds.

For it is the seeds of His name alone, which we shall carry along with us, at our departure time from this earthly plane.

  17. Dying to the Shabad Tulsee Das was a Saint. When he was young he was devoted to reaching God and he struggled slowly on this path. When he got married he was head over heels in love with his beautiful wife, she became the sole reason for his living, everything he did was to please her. One day he surprised her with a gift - she was overwhelmed by his love and said, 'If you were devoted to God half as much as you are to me, I'm sure you would have reached God by now.' The words struck Tulsee Das to the core and his earlier life of devotion came flooding back to his mind, from that day on God became his sole focus once again. Many years later when Tulsee Das was old and wise and respected by all in the village as a saint, a Brahmin priest came to him. He said to Tulsee Das, 'All my life I've preached and read the scriptures, but I haven't met my Beloved Ram. Tell me what I should do?'. Tulsee Das said, 'It's very simple, all you have to do is climb that tall tree and jump off the branch with full faith that Ram will catch you.' The Brahmin was inspired and climbed the tree, he sat on the branch and looked down at the hard ground below. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't make the leap. Many hours passed and the Village HeadMan (SarPanch) walked by with a bag of money. Noticing the Brahmin he enquired as to what he was doing. The Brahmin explained that Tulsee Das had said that by jumping off the tree Ram would catch him. The SarPanch who wasn't a religious man quickly said, 'O Brahmin, if you like you may have this bag of money, but give me Tulsee Das's blessing in exchange.' The Brahmin didn't take too long to think about the offer and was soon off on his way with the bag of money. The SarPanch climbed the tree went across the branch and with full faith in Ram he jumped off. Ram caught him like a baby in its mother's arms. Sounds too unbelievable to be true? But look for the deeper meaning, there's a very, very important spiritual point to this story. I am like the Brahmin, I do my nitnem prayers and preach to people. I do Waheguru Waheguru meditation and I follow the bits of the Guru's Shabad that I like and ignore the bits that are difficult to apply. I follow half of the Hukam, God's Order, and my life trickles away like this then I wonder why I haven't met Waheguru ji. When my brother comes to me with a great business opportunity my focus becomes how I can make lots and lots of money and in the background I rush my nitnem and Waheguru Waheguru meditation. My life trickles away like this and I wonder why I haven't met Waheguru ji. But one day with Guru Ji's great kirpa, I hear the story of Tulsee Das. Now I realise I am like the Brahmin, I have lots of things to live for and I am scared of dying. Guru Nanak Ji says 'I have no anxiety about dying, and no hope of living.' (p20). Why is Guru Nanak Ji so brave? Because he has full faith that Waheguru ji is looking after him 'SIREE RAAG, FIRST MEHL: I have no anxiety about dying, and no hope of living. You are the Cherisher of all beings; You keep the account of our breaths and morsels of food. You abide within the Gurmukh. As it pleases You, You decide our allotment. || 1 ||' (p20). So in my ardas, 'Guru Granth Sahib Jee you have given your blessing like Tulsee Das gave to the Brahmin. Give me full faith in your Gurbanee Words like the SarPanch had full faith in what Tulsee Das said. Baba Ji may I follow your words 100% and if it kills me then I have faith Waheguru ji You yourself will catch me.' And dear Khalsa Ji, when you die while alive and are caught by Waheguru ji then you will be called Jeevan Mukhat. While still alive you have obtained liberation. By dying to the Shabad one finds the True Life held in the arms of Waheguru ji.
