  1. Anyhow, I think it is better to be a sikh or disciple, rather than to be a Guru.... Why? Just as being a child, one becomes worrryless, as one is taken care of ..... It is better to be a lover, than the beloved.... So that we may love with all our heart mind and soul, to the most beloved, and the most worthy, none other than Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Jokes apart, being a Guru is not a question of choice. It is a Hukum or Mauj of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. That is important, Gurmat; not our choices, manmat.
  2. New Math A boy was teaching a girl arithmetic, he said it was his mission. He kissed her once; he kissed her twice and said, “Now that’s addition.” In silent satisfaction, she sweetly gave the kisses back and said, “Now that’s subtraction.” Then he kissed her, she kissed him, without an explanation. And both together smiled and said, “That’s multiplication.” Then her Dad appeared upon the scene and made a quick decision. He kicked that boy three blocks away and said, “That’s long division!”
  3. Women Won’t Play Football Not Coz They Aren’t Gud At It…. “ Women wont play football not coz they aren’t gud at it.. But coz its against their ego to b dressed up exactly like 10 other women in front of 10,000 people..
  4. Commanded By Wife God comes and says, “I want the men to make two lines. One line for the men that dominated their women on earth and the other line for the men that were dominated by their women. Also, I want all the women to go with St. Peter.” With that said and done, the next time God looked, the women are gone and there are two lines. The line of the men that were dominated by their women was 100 miles long, and in the line of men that dominated their women, there was only one man. God got mad and said, “You men should be ashamed of yourselves. I created you in my image and you were all whipped by your mates. Look at the only one of my sons that stood up and made me proud. Learn from him! Tell them my son, how did you manage to be the only one in this line?” And the man replied, “I don’t know, my wife told me to stand here.”
  5. The Power of Woman There were 11 people – ten men and one woman – hanging onto a rope that came down from a helicopter. They all decided that one person should get off, because if they didn’t, the rope would break and everyone would die. No one could decide who should go, so finally, the woman gave a really touching speech saying how she would give up her life to save the others, because women were used to giving up things for their husbands and children, giving in to men, and not receiving anything in return. When she finished speaking, all the men started clapping.
  6. The constant discussion here on this thread, was, if a woman can be a Guru? Through the aid of the Bani, let us see, what Guru Jee has to tell us, in this case we are taking the pure paviter Bani of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sachay Patshah Amar Das Maharaj, from Raag Maaroo ang 1068: First of all He clearly tells us about how to make possible our union with the Almighty Wahiguru Akal Purukh: ਨਾਨਕੁ ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ Naanak Eaek Kehai Baenanthee Naamae Naam Samaaeiaa नानकु एक कहै बेनंती नामे नामि समाइआ Nanak offers this one prayer: through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, may I merge in the Lord. In this upper line, we can clearly see, that He is pointing us the way to merge our souls in that Infinite Ocean, namely Wahiguru; He says, that throuh Naam only, can one make taht union possible. Let us not look what is being done around us, or what the world is doing or has been doing until now. The world is governed by maya, by koor, so naturally the world is blind and going astray. But in our case, we have to look at ourselves, as per how much we are putting Gurmat in our lives. You see, no matter however we may not like to listen or see the Truths in the Bani, but then 500 years back; or infinte cycles of yugas one after the other, the message of the Gurmukhs, or Guru Sahibans, will always be the same. Wahiguru is one, the way to reach Him has to be one, and this way, howsoever we maybe placed at different places or countries, but, this one path, Wahiguru has kept it within each one of us as same, to reach Him succesfully. This path is designed by He Himself, is not man made For Him we are souls, not different nationaliteis, nor genders, colors or classes. So it is our soul, (not our body) which has to elevate within and reach Him. Man has created rituals, diversty of religions, pilgrimages, and an endless outer activities, which draws our attention only outwards, thus taking us awy from our objective: Wahiguru. His wisdom surpasses all excelence. So if we really want to find and meet Him, we have to follow His instructions impilcitly. It is only through His Naam bhakti, which withdraws our attention from maya, and focus on Him, thus we get attracted, we get pulled towards Him. It is He Himself, who pulls us through His Naam, and also merges our soul consciousness in Him, as seen in the words of Sachay Patshah Amar Das Maharaj. So, if anything to be said, Gurmat or Sikhee, is path which revolves around Naam, or Shabad, which is the only Truth, everything else manmat, is paraphernalia, or call it illusion.... Then the second point to be kept in mind, in this Bani of Guru Amar Das Maharaj in the following line: ਪੂਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਈ Poorai Sabadh Bhagath Suhaaee पूरै सबदि भगति सुहाई Sublime and exalted is devotion to the Perfect Word of the Shabad. Here He is telling us, that the bhakti of Naam, is the highest and the most perfect, thus the only valuable and profitable for us, any other practices, will be the reason of our constant coming and going in the cycle of 84. The words of Guru Sahibans, are not to scare anybody, but to just make us aware of our spiritual nature, and to guide us back to Wahiguru, without any failure. This is His guarantee. Many of us complain, that inspite of being religious minded in our own way, we do not get that bliss, that satisfaction, that taste of peace and tranquility, neither is our faith stable and firm .... The answer to these our weaknesses, Guru Jee in the line below, says, that only by Naam Simran of Naam Bhakti, one mind gets defeated, then the soul is freed from its grip, and flies higher and higher in the planes of purity and true bliss, thus the soul gets strongly attracted like iron to magnet, and then the nearer it goes, the stronger the pull... until it finally gets joined to Him, there is no other way, nor shortcut. Man Than Sachee Bhagathee Raathaa Sachae Sio Chith Laaeiaa One whose mind and body are imbued with true devotion, focuses his consciousness on the True Lord. Going still one step further, Sachay Sahib Amar Das, reveals us the secret, for our union with Him in the line below. He says, it is only through Shabad practice or Naam Simran, that one cuts and burns off all karmas, thus one is liberated for once and forever. And then when one is liberated, one does not stay even for a second in the mayavee creation, but gets pulled by the power of that very Shabad up to Sach Khand....there is no other such power to accomplish this task of our union with Him. Through the Shabad, one's comings and goings in reincarnation are ended. Then in this next line, He says, those who perform true devotion to merge in Him, get their objective, by loving the sweet Shabad, means, by being absorbed in His Simran in meditation The true ones serve Him, through the Beloved Word of the Shabad. One who intuitively chants God's Glorious Praises day and night - his light merges into the Light. In this upper line, Sachay Patshah Amar Das, reveals us our true nature as well as of Him and His Bhagats or Guru Sahibans. He says, when we meditate on Naam, through its Simran constantly and regularly, we become inmaculate, then we as souls, our light, like that of a sun ray, which one day emerged from the Sun, merges back in the Infinte Sun: Satpurukh. So, just as Light has no gender, and its purpose is to shine and give Light to dispel darkness, in a similar way, when Wahiguru comes and establishes Himself as a Guru or Guide, it is that Supraconscuois Light full of love, mercy, grace, wisdom ....which projects itself on us through that Guru in that particular body, which otherwise as we know, physical man/woman, is combination of matter and mind, thus totally ignorant or spiritually blind. But only when Wahiguru comes and manifests Himself for a particular time in a particular body, for our spiritual uplift, that being is called Guru, that also, not per our wishes, but by His Hukum, His Mauj. Then when it fulfills its purpose, as seen in the words of Amar Das Maharaj, any ray(soul), any Light(Gurmukhs), having emerged from Wahiguru Akal Purukh, return there to their origin, and merge in Him. It is we manmukhs who constantly create controversies and disputes, because we put our minds above everything, but the teachings of Guru Sahibans are very clear. So if we ever want to grow and become spiritually wise, we just have to follow Gurmat, which is not difficult at all, but very easy, and very simple, as simple as : Jin Har japeeya, se Har hoeeya. Sat Sree AAkal.
  7. Filling in a school form .... A child was fiiling in a school form: child: Dad ! father: yes son? child: they are asking for mother tongue father : write, a very long and sharp one....
  8. A story of manmukhta Once a jew, was praying to God. God appeared and said: tell me son, what can I do for you? The jew said: I have a couple of questions to ask you. God: ok, go on jew: Lord, what is one million years to you? God: well just one second jew: and one million dollars? God: well, just one cent. jew: so can I ask you to give me one million dollars? God: fine, just wait a second. Moral of the story: though, it is a joke upon the money minded character of the jews, in the bottom of it, it is related somehow to most of us manmukhs; that even while dealing with Him, we do not only try to live in His will, but rather we even try be oversmart wih Him...the Highest
  9. Those who just hate others for the sake of dharam, mazab, race, color, social status .... are all blind. They fail to see, His lIght. He is present in each and every being, so by hating others, we are getting ourselves from the reality. For that reality, which is present in us, is the same in all, all due their existences to it For example, we have a house of 4 rooms, one is painted with blue colour, 2nd with pink, the third with white, and the fourth with green, and in all of them we put a 100 watt bulb, so not because of the walls being painted with different colours, will be more luminous than others, because the Light Power in them is same, which is as said above = 100 watts. In a similar way, His Light shines in all of us, but due to the huge amount agyanta and mamukhta, the bulb´s Light is covered by layers of dark cloth on it, so naturally, that is why there is so much spiritually blind fanatism. This abnormal behaviour, has an Ardas as solution: Wahiguru, forgive them, and bless them with the right thinking. Sat Sree Akal.
  10. I think the topic is going off track. We are more on issues of men and women, rather than, what a Guru means. We think we elect gurus as in political elections for a particular period of time. The true Guru is Shabad, the True Guru is Brahmgyani, the True Guru is Gurumukh, the True Guru is the Lord Himself. And just as Wahiguru has no gender, it is His power, His level of Consciousness which works in that particular body. It is like a battery, which works the same in a doll, as in the soldier. It is the energy of that battery which makes them work, not the otherwise, that the toys work better, as per how they were designed or the roles to play. In a siimilar way, the physical body of a woman or the man is not the Guru, which by the way is the topic of this thread. The Guru is not perisahble, the bodies of men or women, are just a handful of dust .... So, as said, Guru, is a power, which can work out His duties at the best, in any conditions, He has no such limits, though limited in disguise, as He is in a physical body which is just a covering The True Guru, works on the inner planes, to guide the souls back to their True Home, Sach Khand . Outwardly He only inspires us, to love Him, by doing the real bhakti. Last, but not the least, it is Wahiguru´s choice, it is His mauj, He can do what He feels like. As said, if He wanted, what to say about human beings, He can make even the stones carry out His Hukum... So brothers and sisters, sangat, let us not argue on the mayavee coverings(bodies, genders), but pay attention, to what He says to us through those wadbhagee Gurmukhs(irrespective of genders). To argue about genders of the True gurus, is to question Wahiguru Himself. Is that not shameful? Our manmukhta, has no limits ..... As long as the creation exists, either men or women, both shall continue to be imperfect beings, only by doing the real bhakti and elevating our consciousness to His level, shall we become perfect, then there shall be no arguments, that men this, or women that, because then, only He will exist. Sat Sree Akal.

  13. Three things which are constant in life: Changes Death God
  14. Paa Jee, do not wait for the changes to take place automatically, who knows ..... it might be late then. If something has to be done, start right now, His Name is the panacea for everything. Just do His bhakti, kachee or pakee, that is not in your hands, the intentions indeed are in your hands. And that is what Wahiguru looks at. He knows, we are failures. He can not expect anything serious from us. If He were to test us, then believe it, we would never ever think of passing His tests. That is why He is called Dayal Purukh also, He showers more grace, more Daya Meher than anything on us, because that is only what He has, and above all, love for us. So if we are even a bit wise, let us leave the judgemental world aside, and take refuge at His Feet. Do not say, you will wait, till He makes you His devotee. No. Nothing of that sort. He has already made you His devotee, He has given you a human birth, so that you dedicate yourself totally at His Lotus Feet. isn´t this enough proof for you? So brother, discard your negative mind, make it eat the Amrit of His Naam, and you see that very mind , vomiting all its poison, thus you will feel healthy. Just do it. His Simran. Everything will take the right angle, but for that, you have to take the first step, so do not pity yourself so much, and start doing His bhakti... Sat Sree Akal.
  15. Some similar type of this question was asked on a different web... The thing is, He knows best. This not a political contest, where aspirants politicians want to reach a certain post, neither it is gender supremacy.... You see, this is not something chosen by people, by votes, but appointed by Himself....and for this reason, we should be thankful to Him with closed eyes. Now we say, we want a woman guru, than we will say, we want her to be of such race, such colour, such height...and so on, we people if given choices, we will have a thousand and one demands... As some wise ones have said in the posts above, Guru is not a gender, is a level of highest consciousness. Let us trust Him, whatever He does, is the best, without analyzing it. If we do the contrary, it means, forget being devotees, we are not even seekers, cause we are still using our manmat, instead of just fully enjoying His blessings. Sat Sree Akal.
  16. Let us see a little bit more of the beautiful topic of this thread, in the Light of Sree Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj. Note:First of all, Guru is not anyone who inspires others to devote themselves to Wahiguru, but yes, this much can be the duty of all well wishers, with a little bit of mercy showered by Him on us... Dhan Dhan Guru Sachay Patshah Arjun Dev Maharaj, in His Bani of Raag Gond, talking about the sewa alloted by Akal Purukh to the True Guru, says: bhoolay ka-o gur maarag paa-i-aa. The Guru shows the Path to those who have wandered off. The thing is, the outer Guru can guide you with His discourses in His sadh Sangat, but as Guru Jee tells us in the line above, He as Guru, as a dispeller of darkness, which is within us, He guides us, by showing us the Path to Wahiguru´s abode, with His own Light, as Shabad Guru. We must bear in mind, all outer Gurus, Lovers of God, Sant Janas, Bhagats, deserve our respects; but the path of sikhee, is a path to be travelled within, so it is there where we need the guidance of the Shabad, the Guru, of which Guru Sahiban is talking in this Shabad mentioned above. So as we read, He shows the path to us, who have wandered off. But we may ask, how can we be wandered off, if we do all our so called duties as a devotee? All the Guru Sahibans, Bhagat Janas, as seen in the Bani, they have only stressed on Nam Simrran as His bhakti, so it is this first step, that in Sadh Sangat we become aware of what is devotion in terms of real bhakti, which is Naam Simran alone... and accepted in His Dargah. He makes us aware that, any other practices, however done with the noblest of intentions, has no value in His eyes, as, it does not bring us closer to Him. We read in the Bani, it is His Simran alone, which washes our sins, thus makes us purer by removing the filth from our minds and souls. So naturally if we do not do His Simran, how or when will we be able to remove all the countless karmas or sins collected, from our heads since we left our Father´s House...since aeons...our karmas are "behisaab". That is why in the following line He says: avar ti-aag har bhagtee laa-i-aa. He leads them to renounce others(practices/agyanta), and attaches them to devotional worship(Naam Simran) of the Lord. Then He says: janam maran kee taraas mitaa-ee. He obliterates the fear of birth and death. Means, He has blessed us with the biggest Gift of His Daya Meher, by reconecting our links with Wahiguru, through His Simran, thus we shall die for the last time in this very birth, means we shall not come into the womb of a mother again. Means we are free from the cycle of births and deaths, through His real bhakti alone. This is the wadeeayee of a True Guru. So is it expressed by Guru jee in the next line: gur pooray kee bay-ant vadaa-ee. The glorious greatness of the Perfect Guru is endless. In the following lines, now He discloses the fact, the value, the meaning of a True Guru, that is, that He guides us within, with His Light anDhkaar meh bha-i-aa pargaas. and the Light shines forth in the darkness. And so, the result of this guidance is that , we come to know Satpurukh, Satnam, our Creator. jin kee-aa so gur tay jaani-aa. Through the Guru, know the One who created you. *My God, when we read such beautiful Bani, one just stops and gets a type of inner happiness, inner bliss, because, the soul says: My Lord I have heard and knew, You are Great..... But Sachay Patshah, all I can say with my mouth wide open is that, Your Greatness, Your inmensity is beyond any imagination.... Further on in His Bani, Guru Jee just explodes and reveals us the true essence of such a Guru, thus He says: gur kirpaa tay mugaDh man maani-aa. By the Guru's Mercy, the foolish mind comes to believe. ( It is only by His Grace, that we manmukhs can believe in His words, not otherwise) gur kartaa gur karnai jog. The Guru is the Creator; the Guru has the power to do everything. gur parmaysar hai bhee hog. The Guru is the Transcendent Lord; He is, and always shall be. This is the key point of the Bani, now we know that, it is He Himself, who comes as a Guru, to guide us souls back. His Path and abode are unfathomable, so naturally the owner of Sach Khand can be the only one, who knows how to reach there. So, Guru/Satguru is not the body which is made of matter and is thus perishable, and for this very reason which we so commonly mistake and fight among ourselves. Guru is Shabad, Guru is that Highest level of Consciousness which has descended at our level, Guru is the Creator Himself, as seen above in the words of Guru Jee. The importance/value is of the Jewel( Shabad), the jewel box is just a container. It is by having that Jewel we can become rich and prosperous, while only having the container box, we shall remain paupers. And this Jewel, according to the Bani, Wahiguru has kept it within each one of us in equal measure, irrespective of our karmas, our sins, our vikars, etc...it is inside us, and it is there where the True Guru tells us to find it, and moreover He guides us to achieve it. And so after explaining us some Truths of the True Guru, Sachay Patshah Arjun Dev Maharaj in the end, He says: bin gur mukat na paa-ee-ai bhaa-ee. Without the Guru, liberation is not obtained, O Siblings of Destiny. Because within us is inmense darkness, no matter if at initial stages we see inner lights or sounds, but it is after Parbrham, where there is utter darkness, and then only we will understand, the above words of Guru Jee, that without the Light of that Sahabd Guru, we can not move even an inch forward, thus the need of that Guru. Sat Sree Akal.
  17. Wahiguru the maker/doer, soul, mind and karmas ..... The Supreme Being´s primary unit of creation, is not made of matter. His fundamental being, is a little being, the soul, the jeeva, made of of His own substance, in His own image, being or consciousness. Every living creature is a being, a drop so to speak, of the Ocean of that Supreme Being, Supreme Consciousness. And every creature also has a mind attached, - which is also a drop so to say of the higher universal mind - which acts as a sort of dynamic, ever changing screen throug which "reality" is perceived. And the mind is formative. It is the mind which creates multiplicity of changing forms. The mind consists of subtle, shifting patterns - limitations or constraints upon the essential being or consciousness within. And it is the mind that is projected outwardly or crystallized, so to speak as body. This is what makes one species different from another - the character of the mental envelope around the soul. The mental pattern from which the physicall form is manifested. And a part of that mental envelope is what we call instinct- the unconscious and mysterious mental functioning that constrains each creature to behave in the way it does. Every creature is a being encapsulated by the mind, which has taken material form as body. That is how beings reincarnate and transmigrate from one body to another. What a being does in one body, it leaves impressionson its mind, which then precipates or manifests as body and destiny to which that being is bound in subsequent lives Reincarnation is the result of subtle, hidden processes of the formative mind. The mind is the means by which the requiremnets of the karmic law are worked out. The law of karma is actually the law of mind - of duality, of cause and effect, of events happening in time. Now the question of releasing the soul from being encapsulated in mind and the three coverings, to become imaculate and worthy of its union and merging in Wahiguru, is the key for our freedom from the mayavee creation. How to achieve that? The whole of the Bani, is nothing but a constant stressing, that by meditating upon Him, through His Simran, is the only way to our sure success. Nothing more, nothing less. Sat Sree Akal.
  18. I am sorry, but I must say, we take things literally. We fail to know the esence of things. Sahib Jee, what makes you think, He can not manifest Himself through a living being? He has been doing so, since aad jugaad. It is our limited vision, for which we think, the way we think and express ourselves .... Just let us stop a bit and think a liitle bit..... and ask ourselves questions like: Who or what is Akal Purukh? What for, does He need, to come to our level? How does He come, and manifest Himself ? The answers are as follows, maybe there are some memebers in the sangat who can give their valuable opinions, but as these are mine own, which I would like to share with the blessed sangat here: 1) Wahiguru Akal Purukh is not something physical, not even mental, He is beyond that. And above all, He is a level of Highest Consciousness, Energy, He is an Infinte Ocean of Love, mercy and Grace....These are His main virtues, many have described Hm also as Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent. And still others say: He is Ouch se Oucha, the Highest; Apaar, Unfathomable; Beant, Infinite; Soami, the Lord Master of everything. The Bani says: Sochay soch na hovaee, jeh sochae lak vaar. One can not come to comprehend Him, if you think again again, hundreds of thousands of times 2) He comes to our human level, just for us, souls, His jeevas.... Why? To make us know the Truth, which otherwise would be impossible. Because in our presemt state, we are surrounded by maya, and overpowered by kaal, and his ministers: kaam, krodh, lobh, moh and ahankar...plus the chains upon us of countless karmas...just imagine, since we left Sach Khand, since aeons, we have been just collecting karmas, so we have an unlimited unpayable account on our heads. So brothers, sincerely speaking, we have not even a remote chance to escape by our own efforts, and reach Him, it is just unimaginable for us. That is the reason, when we want to meditate on Him and close our eyes, we see nothing but darkness, so we just give up, and prefer not to do this bhakti, rather many other practices.... and through the Bani, we know, if we do not do this Bhakti, there is no liberation either ..... But what do we moorkhs do? We do our own maanmat. Thus we never ever, lay at His dooor as kookars even.... Then too, we proudly say, we are sikhs... Being a sikh is very great thing, it is the begining of our returning Home, but unfortunately, we just put a sticker on us, that we are sikhs of the Guru, but the fact is, it is far from reality, and we just pass our lives fooling around, with politics, land, rituals, wars, hatred, intolerance, manmukhta....etc. And the only one thing which the Bani repeats constantly, we overlook it: Awar kaaj, tere kiteh na kaam, mil Sadh Sangat, bhaj kewal Naam. So, when we close our eyes to do bhajan bandagee, the unavoidable darkness we see, it is nothing, but, the blackness of our own countless karmas, otherwise, as some mahapurukhs have said, our soul has the light of sixteen suns.... So if we never wash our karmas with His Simran; how will, or when will that darkness star becoming lesser? Of course never.... So one of the reasons of their coming is, to reveal us the secrets(bhed) of Naam, so that we leave our stupidity, and catch hold of that Shabad, by unfolding it within ourselves, and after cleaning ourselves, and becoming spotless, we board the Jaaz of Naam and retrun back to our Nijh Ghar, Sach Khand and finally merge in Him, and becoming one with Him. 3) As we know He is a level of consciousness, He is not anything material. So He has to come at our physical level, so that, we may understand Him. If He comes as a devi or devta, we can not see them. if He comes as an animal, bird or trees, we can not understand them, moreover, they are below the mankind level, which is considered the highest among the beings, even higher than the gods or devis. devtas, who starve to get once again the human birth to do the right bhajan bandagee, and merge in Him. So you see, He has to talk with us, in our own languages, so that we may understand the higher Truths of Shabd, of Naam, of Satnam... The changes/differences among different beings, are mainly at the consciousness level, otherwise, we all have more or less the same heights, two eyes, one nose, hands, legs, etc In the same way, when Wahiguru decides to dwell among us for our spiritual uplift, He manifests Himself, in the forms of Bhagats, Sadhs, Sant Janas, Guru Sahibans... If we look at these holy supreme beings, outwardly, they look like any one of us, there is hardly any differnce, there is nothing, which denotes their superiority... Neither do they dress in a particular way ... Neither it is like in the army, that their unforms have badges or marks to show their ranks .... So then where/what is that quality which distinguishes them? It is as said befor at the consciouss level, while we are entagled with the world and maya, they are in tune with the inner reality, in constant communion with the Shabad Guru; their rom rom vibrates with Naam. That is why the Bani says: Har Jee baseh Sadh ke hirdey. Though hirdey is heart, but here the Bani does not refer to the heart, which is just a muscle, a piece of flesh, rather it means, that, that Supreme Power and Consciousness, has come to abide, with the soul consciousness of that being, that is why it can talk so precisely, about Wahiguru and Sach Khand, if this was not so, how would anybody know about Him? Of course never ever, cause Kaal in his domains, has laid all sort of powerful traps, so that the soul may never ever think even by mistake of Wahiguru Akal Purukh. You see, all this happens within. Wahiguru descends from His abode within, whenever He thinks fit so, and when He decides to finish His mission on earth here, He just goes from within along with that particular ray of His, in that particular body, back to Sach Khand. The body is, just consciousless, is just a handful of dust, and there it returns, when disposed of. It is we people who see the Guru Sahibans or Bhagats in the sargun swaroop, and tend to take them as individual beings, when the fact is, they are related to Wahiguru(Ocean), just as are the waves(sargun swaroop) to that ocean. The waves take a shape and size, and seem they are separated for a time being, from the Ocean, but the fact is, that is just an illusion, because they are very much part and parcel of the Ocean in essence, but return and become one with the ocean, once their mission of coming here is fulfilled. And we all know, the waves never stop emerging from the Ocean, they keep coming, nobody can stop them, if even if some want to.., A wave emerges, from the sea at the seashore for a time being.... It returns back in the Ocean becoming One with It, and while this is happening, another wave is preparing to come at the seashore for a particular time being.... Different waves having enmerged at different times may look different in sizes, shapes or slightly different colors, but in essence they are same like the Ocean. This is no man made law. This is the Divine Nature´s law, which no man, no god can change... As long as there is a shore, waves will be coming from the Ocean. This is due only to His Grace, Mercy and unlimited unconditional Love for us jeevas. Sat Sree Akal.
  19. SUPREME IMPORTANCE OF NAM IN SIKHEE Dhan Dhan Satguru Sachay Patshah Arjun Dev Maharaj, tells us in His Bani of Raag Jaitsiri, about the supreme importance of His Naam at all levels, realms and conditions. What is the purpose of all our devotional activities, we perform in our daily lives, up to the end of our days here in this world? Well, the answer of almost all of us will be, to wash our sins and generate love for His Lotus Feet. This is all right, but let us see, what our Guru Sahiban has to say about it: ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰਮ ਨ ਮਿਟੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਖਟਿਆ Kirath Karam N Mittai, Naanak Har Naam Dhhan Nehee Khattiaa किरत करम न मिटै नानक हरि नाम धनु नही खटिआ The karma of their past deeds cannot be erased, O Nanak, if they have not earned the wealth of the Lord's Name. He clearly says, if the kamaee of Lord´s Name is not gathered, our past deeds(karmas) and sins can not be washed away. Then He says: ਉਦਮ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਗਾਵਹੀ Oudham Karehi Anaek Har Naam N Gaavehee उदम करहि अनेक हरि नामु न गावही He makes all sorts of efforts, but he does not sing the Lord's Name. Here He is telling us, He knows our manmukhta condition, cause we prefer to do a thousand and one things before, than to do His Simran or chintan. And He warns us, that by being manmukhs, the result of this our petty mindedness, leads us to our spiritual pitfall: ਭਰਮਹਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਅਸੰਖ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮਹਿ ਆਵਹੀ Bharamehi Jon Asankh Mar Janamehi Aavehee भरमहि जोनि असंख मरि जनमहि आवही He wanders around in countless incarnations; he dies, only to be born again. As are the seeds he plants, so are the pleasures he enjoys; he receives the consequences of his own actions In this upper line, He is clearly pointing us, that, any other action/activity done, is karma which will bound us back into the creation, thus it is only His Simran, which will deliver us freedom from this mayavee and perisahble creation. The path of Sikhee or Gurmat is not to create discrimination among human beings, or to even tie us with any worldy related chains such as dharam, karam khand, land, etc ..... The only purpose of Sikhee, is to liberate the soul from the clutches of mind, maya and wash the filth of our unlimited karmas, and reunite it with the only permanent and eternal Truth, which is Wahiguru, through His Simran. This is the grace of Wahiguru upon us jeevas, by letting us moorakhs, know about the True devotion which pleases Him the most, through His bhagats, Gurmukhs and Guru Sahibans.. Oouch, Apaar, Beant, Soami, kaun jaane gun Tere? Sat Sree Akal.
  20. I found this article on a web, which I am reproducing it as it is, though it appears to be the words of a highly evolved soul, we can learn a lot from it, by getting inspired and understanding the importance of Rom Rom Simran, which is the base line of this article. Hope you enjoy it...... Namaste dear friends... I am sharing this gentle and humble practice, yet the most powerful for those who want the love of God and his remembrance all the time. Also I am sharing it because to my surprise I've found it also to be very self pacing energetically and relieves the person from energetic problems in the head... It's the zikr of the divine name or constant mantra repetition of a certain deity... By the constant repetition of the divine name we are always in the presence of our beloved and reminded of him... I can't think of anything else to bring us nearer to our angelic nature... For angels, as Rumi says... Their oxygen is to repeat the divine name... Love for God becomes so great when we undertake this practice... We fly on the wings of bhakti... We burn in Ishq... We burn in love for our beloved... It is rumi who said I burnt and I burnt and I burnt... Well there is nothing sweeter than burning for the sake of our beloved Now I consider the Indian legacy as my mother and suffism (christian, muslim and jewish) my father... Arab christians, jews and muslims... All use the name of Allah as a translation from english to the word God. And the great name of Allah the beloved is what I use for this practice myself... People may also use the name of Jesus or Yahwa or any form of christian prayer... As per my indian friends.. They may use any mantras they like and which relates to their deity... Lord Shiva, Ganesha, Mother Kali, Krishna ect... The divine name we choose is the one which we really consider as our beloved... It's our highest ideal. Our chosen Ishta. Concerning the technique, it's very easy and simple and it is the following: We repeat the divine name inside ourselves at the area from the right side of the physical heart extending to the middle of the chest. We repeat it in the space from within and "not on the surface". We do so while being involved in whatever activity we're doing. Eating, walking, working ect... But we do so with respect and humbleness... And we do our worship as if we see our beloved and in case we can't we should know that He/She sees us. As every practice... This one might have it's clunky stage but if we push ourselves into it for the first two days it will become an automatic process and the repetition of the divine name then will happen by itself in our heart... Even when we are talking to others... If we find it hard to repeat the divine name from within... We can repeat it with our tongues at first and gently go down to the heart area afterwards... If one would like to push this practice even farther and be with the divine name of his beloved... He can do this practice while negating every other thought but the divine name inside his heart and turning away from all thought and just being with the divine name. But we do so gently without fighting.. We just favor the divine name above everything else. To whomever feels attracted to undertaking this practice I strongly suggest you do so... It's very beautiful and I can't think of anything better than being with our beloved all the times... Much love to All, may divine grace blesses those who undertake this practice and guides their step. Peace, Ananda Sat Sree Akal.
  21. Dear Bhagat Jee, To your question above, I very much agree with the answer you yourself have given in your post, which I have reproduced and underlined, along in your quote. And the way I liked it? Well it is enjoyable like watching a nice picture, and in this case, it is the vocabulary, the depth, the message of hope, of faith, and above all, of His mercy, which assures, that what we have come to know about ruhaniyat in Sikhee, is the same with all true lovers of that Supreme Truth, Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Sat Sree Akal.
  22. Sat Sree Akal brother Bhagat Jee, First of all, the poem of Saint John of the Cross, is fantastic, mind blowing, very deep..... mystic Then the second point, I am not at all worthy, to all the superlative adjectives you have given me. Those shoes are much bigger than my size . And believe me, this is not false humility. I am normal human being, like any neighbour. Sorry to say the contrary of what you believe me to be, or dissapoint you, you do not know me at all. I maybe a charlatan, who knows? So brother, just do not judge me by what I write. I am a very big manmukh yet, I have a long way to tread. I myself have seen, here in this very web of sikhawareness, though few, some real sikhs, whose names I will not mention, so that they may not feel uncomfortable, who are real bhagats, and I am proud and happy for them.... Some more points: * Nobody will ever repeat His Name, just because they read it again and again, but it is only possible by His glance of Daya Meher. That is why the Bani says: Seh Simrae, jisnoo Aap Simrae. Aap Japae, japeeye so Nao. Because if by reading people could do the real Bhakti, it would be very easy and desirable, but Bhagat Jee, Wahiguru bhee kuch cheez hoonde hae. People recite the Bani hundreds of times, and what is written there, is the law in spiritual terms, by Gurmukhs, by Guru Sahibans themselves ....but then too, tell me, how many do understand and follow the Bani implicitly, taking it as Sach Hukum. So you see, if people do not follow and understand the Pure Ones, Guru Sahibans, with the Bani by the messages they convey us, on bhakti, on love, on devotion, on humility, on detachment, on bireh ......etc .... where is the place of this das n das, this paapee ... Please do not confuse the sangat. He is important, the Bani is important, Nam is important; in summary ... sikhee is important. Let me remain out of the scene of these Higher Truths. Let the people, keep these Truths in their mind, eyes and as their final objective. I am always, as much, only a brother to all. If ever anybody needs any help from me, as an human being, I will feel very much being a wadbhgee, in giving that helping hand. It is my love for all mankind, and above all, I see everybody as His jeevas, who are wandering in the merciless creation, so I just try to ignite the flame of love and devotion, in as many hearts as possible, by singing His Mahima, His wadeeayee in the Bani.... And I am quite consciouss, that many many will dislike what I say, as I am above any rituals, or being an orthodox. What is important in Bhakti ? It is important to submit our minds and hearts to Wahiguru, The body is perisahble, insentient and unconsciouss by itself. We are all aliens here in this mayavee creation, He is our True Father, from whom we have been separated since countless ages, Sach Khand is our True Home. And unless we reach there, our miseries shall never end. Unfortunately, people under agyanta, try to build their future in this world, by strong bonds of things like dharam, mazab, land, culture .... etc You see, me, you, he /she, we, you, they, are nothing. In the sense, He is the only doerSome may feel pride by thinking, because of me or somebody, this or that happened. You see, If He wanted, He can even make the stones carry out His Hukum. Even the wind that moves the leaves of a tree, is because of His Hukum. So, He is only important. Then, one thing you mentioned is, His mountain(abode) is the highest, and there are countless paths, each one for His countless names. Here I slightly differ from you, let me tell you. If Wahiguru is one, the path taking to Him has to be one, it can not be different for different people, religions, castes, creeds. Maybe in the region of Braham, this is posible, that for one destiny to be reached, you can come from east, north , west or south, or even by air, land and /or water. But, there where Wahiguru is, there is not only one way, but one vehicle also to be boarded. No other path, no other vehicle has any capacity, nor authrization to enter there. These are not my words, but His law, His Hukum for all , without any discrimination of any type. In that sense, the Bani is most valuable, it says : Nanak Naam jahaz hae. You see, if we want to reach Wahiguru Akal Purukh, we have to take unconditional shelter in the Shabad Guru or Nam, it is the same thing. There is absolutely no other way. So it is the Shabad Guru which takes us crossing Braham, Parbraham, till Sach Khand, we by ourselves, at most can only reach Braham, that also, a very few jeevas among millions and billions.... so there is no question even, talking about His Darbar we alone..... Or do we think, that going there is like going for a tour abroad, or in the space? We moorakh people surely think this way..... Moreover it is also mentioned in the Bani, that this Hukum, or this path for meeting and merging in Him, did not start some several hundred years back with Dhan Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj, neither did it end with Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj, but this Hukum has been carried throughout the 4 yugas. And so shall it remain for the future generations, for ever and ever .... This is, no man made law, but something designed by He, Himself.... You are quite a good, a noble ,and a sensitive person, and believe me, I wish you the best, to grow more and more in spirituality. May God bless you. P.S: I would aprreciate if you relate to me, more as a brother, or a friend ....than all the big adjectives given by you, which I do not desreve. Bhool chuk, maaf karne jee. Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru.
  23. Wahiguru, His creation, and a little bit of His Mahima He is Iko, and as the Bani says: ਸਚ ਖੰਡਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ Sach Khandd Vasai Nirankaar सच खंडि वसै निरंकारु In the realm of Truth, the Formless Lord abides. Below that infinity, coming downwards towards this material creation, after crossing the causal and astral planes, there are countless beings, worlds, universes, galaxies, deities, angels, demigods, ...etc and etc ..... Let us see what the Bani says about it: ਰੰਗੀ ਰੰਗੀ ਭਾਤੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਉਪਾਈ Rangee Rangee Bhaathee Kar Kar Jinasee Maaeiaa Jin Oupaaee रंगी रंगी भाती करि करि जिनसी माइआ जिनि उपाई He created the world, with its various colors, species of beings, and the variety of Maya. Having created the creation, He watches over it Himself, by His Greatness. He does whatever He pleases. No order can be issued to Him. He is the King, the King of kings, the Supreme Lord and Master of kings. Nanak remains subject to His Will. In these lines above, we can see that Guru Jee tells us that, He, Wahiguru Akal Purukh is the only creator and the only Lord of everything. He is the highest. Then He tells us, something about the different deities, devis, devtas, created by Him for a particular purpose, to whom almost the whole world bow , revere and worship, but they too, sing His Glory, the one Akal Purukh. He is Beant, Apaar.... So let us see, some of the lines from the Bani about these facts : ਕੇਤੇ ਪਵਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਵੈਸੰਤਰ ਕੇਤੇ ਕਾਨ ਮਹੇਸ Kaethae Pavan Paanee Vaisanthar Kaethae Kaan Mehaes केते पवण पाणी वैसंतर केते कान महेस So many winds, waters and fires; so many Krishnas and Shivas. So many Brahmas, fashioning forms of great beauty, adorned and dressed in many colors. So many worlds and lands for working out karma. So naturally, the rank of Gurmukhs, is higher than any other deity or divinity, as they are one with Wahiguru.) He is as Great as He wishes to be. I think needless is to say, if at all anybody we should give our love and devotion, is , only Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Why? Because if we worship anybody apart from Him, we shall go to that realm of that deity. That means, not Sach Khand. For as only our devotion to Wahiguru, His Naam/ Nao, Shabad, guarantee our freedom from this mayavee creation, and make us reach our destination in Sach Khand. Krishnas , Shivas, Brahmas, Indras, devis, devtas, Budhas are many, as seen above in the priceless words of Guru Jee.... while on the contrary, Wahiguru is only one. So it is our choice, whom we want to devote and worship. Worshipping any other entity, we perpetuate our stay in the cycle of eighty four. Worshipping one Wahiguru, we shall merge in Him. May Waheguru bless all.
  24. Brother Bhagat Singh Jee, you are most welcome to differ from my opinions. Once again i will talk from my own personal view. The teachers at school, also impart education, and earn their livinghood. So does Eckahrt Tolle. But I am not talking of these types of teachers, nor philosphers, yogis, gurus, babeys.... No, none of these, I am not at all refering to them, but to those, who are Gurmukhs, Bhagat Janas, Sant Janas, Guru Sahibans, they imaprt the gyan, the knowledge, of Wahiguru Akal Purukh = Gurmat. And about the means to reach and merge in Him, with the aid of Naam Simran/Shabad Guru, without any fees or charges. That is it. The Bani says: Sadh Sangat othey janeeye, jithe Iko Naam vakhaaniye. For me, Bhagat Nam Dev, was a being of highest order, who was one with Wahiguru. Rather I would also say, Wahiguru comes and abide in people of this spiritual heights. Have we not heard: Prabh Jee baseh, Sadh kee rasna. Prabhe Jee baseh, Sadh Ke hirdey. Nanak, Sadh, Prabh, bhed na paee. You see brother, once one merges in Wahiguru, one has no desires nor own will, everything is per His will. He works through them. They do not perform miracles in order to attract masses. So is with Kabir Sahib, or Bhagat Ravi Das.... They were all one with Him. So if miracles happened within their life span, in my opinion, it was such the hukum of Akal Purukh. We are nobody to question it. Different thing is, like when avatrs of gods, like Shiva, Krishna, Ram and alike come to earth, they display supernatural powers and weapons. But their is a main difference between them avatars, and Gurmukhs, Sadh Janas, Bhagat Janas..... While the former ones come to keep the souls entagled here in creation, none of them talk or impart teachings, on Nam of Wahiguru Akal Purukh/ Satnam. The real Gurmukhs, Bhagats Janas, their main purpose is to awaken us from this mayavee creation, and attach our soul consciousness with the only one eternal reality, Satpurukh, with the jugtee of Naam Simran. I am sure, you maybe thinking or anyone else, how to know who or which is a genuine Bhagat or Gurmukh/ Brahamgyani.... well, that is all in Wahiguru´s hands. We can never ever recognize them, though thy may live in our same town or village, or in the same house even, under the same roof, they can even be our father or brother .... if it is not written on our forehead/ destiny, we will never accept or acknowledge them.. What happened with Guru Nanak´s sons? They took Him as mad, when He was the embodiment of Wahiguru Himself... What happened with, Prithi Chand? He was born in a Guru Ghar, he had one Guru Sahiban, like Sree Guru Ram Das Maharaj, as a father, and yet another one as brother, like Sachay Patshah Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj. He had their darshan daily, since his very childhood, but then too, did he become free of his eveil tendencies? Then too, I would say, it was not his fault at all ... No one can go against His hukum. As the Bani says: to some He pulls towards Himself, to others He leaves them here ... He is Beant, nobody can ask Him why? And that does make Him unjust, as some may think. So brother Bhagat Jee, it is all His hukum. Wahiguru, out of His love for His bhagats, though they are one with Him, is eveready to do as per their wishes. Though, once again, they have no wishes of their own, but only those, which pleases Him. The relation and the game of love played between Wahiguru, and His Bhagats, His Sant Janas .... is only known to them, we small people, can never ever understand them.... Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Jee
