Inderpal1994 reacted to jaikaara in Dasam Granth Banis For A Not Amrit Dhari Yet?
People describe various ways of doing ..some say a shastar should be kept along with a lighted diya ..and a pitcher of water..however it is better one does abhyaas than getting into ritualistic specifications which are made by different people rather than our Guru Sahib..so as long as you are bathed and wearing clean clothes it is fine ..the Jungi Khalsa would do baani on horseback ..they were fighting for days together..you think someone had that time to get into rituals ? Sehaj paath karna ..abhyaas karna ..it takes a life time to understand things ..
For daily abhyaas she can do a combination of Japji sahib , Jaap Sahib, Choupai sahib, Ath Chandi Charitar consisting of the 8th adhyay of Chandi Charitar ...Shastar Naam Maala , Bhagouti Ashtotar and Brahm Kavach which is recited 32 times as instructed in the baani.
lets calculated time :
Jap ji Sahib - 12-15 mins approx
Jaap sahib - 12 mins approx
Choupai sahib - 5 mins approx
Ath Chandi Charitar ashtomo adhyay - 2 mins approx
Shastar Naam Maala - 7 - 8 mins approx
Siri Bhagouti Ashtotar - 2-3 mins approx
Brahm Kavach 32 paaths : 25 mins approx
It comes to approximately an hour and 10 mins around ...if she can do that in the morning .

Inderpal1994 reacted to GurjantGnostic in Only Khalsa Raaj can solve the world's hunger problem!
Came and went online. Reference to it is documented here and ss for years, but we've not re encountered it yet.
The upside to being a foreign convert who only obtained Gurmat through study is all my concepts are based on that, not hear se.
I look forward to renfinding it.
Also please be on the lookout for a Sakhi about 7 Tamil Kings, seven handfulls of cannabis, and a deal about 7000 of the 96cror Akali being given militarily to Shaheed with Kalis forces.
Those two Sakhi I encountered legitimately, have referenced since I did, simply can't find again. Apprecaite you

Bro. No excuses Paanth we should upgrade our apps a bit. I mean why doesn't an app have the Raag tones and beats for each Ang? So you can not only bring up say Japji, and click the words, but have it play the Raag tones as an example and then generate a series of random beats in 4 4 time 16 beat measures I think how Japji beat works out in western music.
Gurbani is...heavily...scratch head...built in a way that interacts with computers well.
Salute to the great apps we have.

I used Gurbani Nirvaan initially. Great app. I now use Sikhi to the max also which has some excellent features. We're leagues behind christian apps like blue note etc though. Which have dictionaries and etimologies built in based on clicking etc I hear.
Like if sttm was blue note you could click any word and see what language it's from, what it means etc. How to say it, but we don't need that last part because Gurmukhi is better than hooked on phonics.

Didn't find it yet but searching Gurbani provides such interesting results pages. Man there's more truth on this search page than most religions. You could just base an entire faith off this results page. Boom.

Indeed bro. We are also to release all desires, accept Hukam, and participate in Anand Karaj not Kaam. So we encounter and kill desire and the fear of death and failure, the entire time while sticking to the Paath and Grishti Jeevan. Or Brahmcharya.
The human part of you dies during this with it's desires. Your soul remains to enjoy the rightousness of applied Rehit.
You continue to exist in the world Jeevan Mukte with a wife.

Not really, you just need to be honest with yourself and with your Guru.
For example, I'm gonna be honest, I don't seek to be a sant, or anything holy. If I am to be than so be it. But as of now I just seek a blissful life. All I know is I want to live by the guru mukhvaak as much as possible, being a practitioner of gurbani, as well as a practitioner of shastar vidya.

To be honest. First and foremost, we are humans. We all have needs and desires. For most of us, we seek love, companionship, etc. In terms of financial wealth, we live in a capitalist society and with the way things are we seek financial security. I'm not a supporters of capitalism, but even I know as I live in a capitalist society I would need this to survive.
Love, we all seek. That blissful union with someone we love etc. And well we wish to charm them with our attitude, persona, attract them with our inner and outer beauty. Maharaj themselves have spoken how beautiful a Gurmukh is when they are one with Paramatma.

See, this is the thing. We need to know the context behind this. I'm not saying I would disagree, nor will I agree until we have a complete knowledge.
No stones unturned.

The mantar is probably as follows:
"Ik Ooangkaar Satgur Parsaad Karta Purakh".
"Ooang" might be a short form of "Ik Ooangkaar".
Bhul chuk maaf

Yes, with this sakhi's one would need to be a scholar to understand the complete history, language, cultural etc behind these sakhi, it's compilations and understanding of Gurmat to know what they mean.
In terms of "charming the hearts of a women" may be in indication that reciting such mantra can help you find love etc. Like this mantra is cupids arrow. Of course we all look to Gurbani when we seek the boon of material objective such as money, trivial knowledge, love, etc.

Thank you Paapiman.
I actually have read this previously however I was a bit skeptical about it. I've never heard "Oong Satgur Parsaad Karta Purakh".

Awesome bro. Whatever enages you so you enjoy doing it. If the honing of skill is inspiration, awesome, if it's just reading it casually for joy? Awesome. It shouldn't be a chore it should be a respite.

Yes, I'm thinking of reciting one ang per day (or whenever I can) but to also recite it correctly.

Just start a casual SehajPath on your phone. And then when done read Vaaran Bhai Gurdas Ji once bro.

Yes, I have contemplated on this. Repetition and recite bani which is said in many different ways can ingrain itself in to our subconscious. But, to be honest, I have never read nor studies GGS enough to make any call or judgement.

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh.
Before I begin I just wish to let sangat know (I'm guessing you already do) but I am ignorant of Gurbani. My knowledge is below limited, so hence why my question may sound remedial.
Whenever I read a hukamnama or a random ang of Satguru Granth Sahib Ji, I always see that Maharaj repeats themselves again and again (praising parmatma, advising us to jaap naam, follow the guru etc).
I'm just curious on why Maharaj repeats themselves so many times.
I'm hoping if a gursikh could help me with this, or if anyone has any bachan's from a bhramgyani or mahapurakh that can help me with this curious thought.
Thank you
Inderpal

I understand where you're coming from, but we recite Gurbani (nitnem) everyday, and we are technically reciting the same bani everyday. Wouldn't that be enough?
Also, would the Guru not have expanded further on their shabads.

This is something that has crossed my mind. Yes, I agree that our mind has been conditioned with so much filth, that we would be needing to recondition it with something pure.
But like I've mentioned to chatanga that we recite our nitnem everyday...isn't that enough.

I agree there. Maharaj has spoken to us the same things in many different ways. I believe it's more effective to show us the different aspects or perspectives of life and dharma.
