  1. I find it a shame that these singhs who dress in bana carry loads of shastar and carry their nishaan Sahib around nagar kirtans / when they visit the gurdwara. This pathetic bunch has not replied on this topic to clariffy their stance & why their so called head of dal panth the opium addict Joginder has jumped wagons.

The point of this topic is to shed light on why we should stop supporting these nihangs in India and bringing them to the Uk...avoid, waste of sangats money. Politics is rife in the panth. It cannot be avoided.

These people in India are enjoying being flown around the world, enjoying luxuries etc. What have they worked for?

If any of these men I have mentioned consider themselves the real nihangs they would have dealt with balbir

    Or

They would have openly come out and gone against him...but these people are nothing but lazy people who are very much irrelevant.

Heck ,theses so called warriors only know gatka. Truely pathetic panth.

Budha dal UK. When will you show yourselvss to be true khalsA? Carry on hiding bitches.

The problem is when these nihangs are just by name. They claim to be Sikhs , people of the truth yet they are nothing more than drug addicts or cowards...most cases it's both.

  3. Okay my goat friend, but please I am talking about the politics at the moment ;ast few years surrounding the singhs in the uk who they support and how joginder has sailed to the other side.

I want people to know how these nihangs are nothing but cosplay actors who like playing dress up, money and power is all they want.

If these above singhs even baba avtar singh, If they were TRUE nihangs they could do something about balbir, rather than siding with them. Just goes to show that Sikhs in the west idolise these people but they are nothing but snakes and cowards.

I just want to give an outsider perspective.

While you will have no doubt to accept the fact that all the Hindus and their families are always ask to revere Gurus and Sikh as warriors of Hindu faith with highest respect. The sikhism until the time of Shri Ranjit Singh and Harisingh Nawla had identity of a unique sect of Hinduism.

However, the Singh Sabha on behest of British and their appointed scholars not only split the Sikhs from Hindus... but also made the inclusive Sikhism as an exclusivity Sikhism. Even if you get hold of  any Rahetnamas or any declaration by SPGC or most of the Sikh Groups it is based upon Anti-Brahmin or anti-Hindu ideology, just to ensure that they maintain their separate identity. Lot of potraits for Gurus with Tilak were removed, most of the language is that "do not follow this because Hindus follow this". Sikhs started questioning the literatures and at the time of Guru Gobind Singh as corruption by Hindus(when it is a fact that most of the scribes of Gurus were also Hindus, there was no such issue until the time of Raja Ranjit singh). Rather than reforming or giving space to Udasis or namdharis was it right to start executing them in Mughal ways?

Detaching Hindus and generating hatred towards hindus, instilled insecurity and mistrust among both communities post singh sabaha and lead to so many events of evil and division.

It burns my heart to understand why couldn't the mainstream sikhs identify the big flaw in the singh sabah and ISI inspired Khalistani events of exclusion and hatred, and let their influence into anti-Hindu rahetnamas.

I mean do they expect Muslims and Christians who are based upon ideology of hatred and exclusivity to convert to Sikhism?? as opposed to Hindus, who gave away one of their sons to Guru when the Sikhs were reduced to low numbers. Though I am not from Punjab, but I have personally seen most of the Punjabis are More Guru Bhakts then being Hindus. can Sikhs find such following among Muslims and Christians??

The hatred for hindus was started by the singh sabha, distancing themselves from anything they deemed 'hindu' and non sikh, when 1984 happened it set things off even worse than before. Now days Sikhs are so engulfed with hatred for hindus they are blind/tunnel vision.  Khalistanis are the reason sikhi is failing to spread now days, wherever you go you get massive pictures of kharkus, sometimes the pictures are bigger than any of the gurus! those who know of the gurdwara in east London who has almost 99%  of khalistani fighter in the langhar hall and maybe one of two of the gurus.

  5. This topic is to address the state of nihangs 2017,  the nihangs are in utter shambles for the last few years. They are on the slow road of self destruction.

Since the death of Baba Santa Singhji, two factions emerged. balbir supported by SGPC, other side joginder singh & baba surjeet singh ji.

As many of you know, baba surjeet singh was put in jail for 5 years with many other singhs. Joginder was apparently the mukhi.

Then others claimed baba prem singh is the jathedar of the dal.

What happened since baba surjeet singh did his charai?

the likes of joginder have joined forces with balbir's faction.

The point I would like to make is, for many years the nihangs of the UK such as those who call themselves budha dal UK mainly fools from Southall and the westmidlands , had massive posters saying joginder is the dal panth jathedar and they are fully behind him etc.

What went wrong with their jathedar, and why did he join forces with balbirs camp? was he a coward who was scared of facing a dunali put to his head?

A few months ago the chakarvarti jathedar from baba prem singhs faction was shot dead by singhs of balbirs side.

Here is a few pictures of various well known nihang leaders with balbir, many pictures are from 2017 which can be found in Instagram by various young nihang singhs living in the dal.

Baba avtar singh, baba nihal singh, baba gajjar singh, baba joginder singh, all recognise balbir as the true jathedar, those who know politics within the dal will realise that they have all sold their soul to SGPC and to the devil. So why do Sikhs of the west praise the likes of baba nihal singh and baba joginder singh who clearly are submissive to balbir? they are nothing more than puppets/stooge's and sell outs of the panth. We should not invite these people to the UK because lets face it, they are only self interested to keep their various posts in india from being taken away from them.

Yes the guy seemed geniunely shocked when he learned of the hatred towards his grandfather, who had pakistan written in big letters across his house. What the hell else did he expect? It shows a guy who is only aware of the pakistani version of partition (like 99.9%) of pakistanis.

As for the old man, he was crying at his fathers house, yet it wasn't half as big as houses that mnay Sikhs and Hindus were forced to leave in partition. Nevermind his bloody house, look at the state of the historical Gurdwaras that the pakistanis were supposed to preserve.

What book was he quoting from, I didn't catch the title.

I agree, the ambala Muslims were very biased.  I felt the doc was very biased against Sikhs they didn't mention the many trains full of dead Sikhs and Hindus which prompted the Sikhs and Hindus to seek revenge?  Typical BBC.

On that note, are there any good places to acquire a kirpan which is actually sharp / designed to be used practically? The only ones I know of which are genuinely sharpened and balanced are the ones by a 3HO member Jot Singh Khalsa, and they seem to have mixed reviews. The blades in order to be properly balanced and sharp were made with steel instead of sarbloh and that is a point of contention among many of those who have seen them in person. (sorry to be off topic but saw the opportunity to ask).

I would personally say save your money and invest in an antique dagger, pesh kabz, choora, kard daggers. you can find them at auction houses antique  arms dealers and on the internet. do be warned though of counterfeit and replica ones.

To be honest, does sarbloh translate to iron? someone please give a defintion of sarbloh in context to weapons.

Iron does not hold a good cutting edge, iron gilts were used on khandas and other swords.

guru g is the best of all. They know everything, they thought about it all. A gun can get jammed, u can run out of bullets but a sword cannot get jammed, etc. Guru g has blessed us with such great things. It is now our responsibility to keep our kirpan ( gifted to us by our father) sharpened. There has been alot of blood spilt (more than we can imagine) so that we can put a kanga in our kes and wear a turban and kachhera and of course the kirpan.

in the olden times people used to carry more than one weapon. If I remember it correctly- kirpan (they used to wear a big one as a kakkar the smaller version came after the British), spear and bandook at least!

Yes, however I am not forsaking guns..guru gobind Singh told singhs to use guns also along with blades..In the UK they are not accessible. Singhs of old were ace with muskets and small arms  read up on how they are described fighting against mughals and afghans.

Every weapon has it advantages and disadvantages. Yes Singhs of old carried five weapons minimum...they can vary, tegha , katar, pistol, bow and arrow, dagger, spear, lance, shamshir, sirohi, kora, tulwar, tabar war hammers...many weapons.

Well there are rehitnameh saying to wear a "kard" on you at all times.

Dal, the Sikh war experience before 1914 was 1849. With a little bit of action in 1857 and then. Maybe a little action in Afghanistan in the 1880s.

But nothing of note in between. these and WW1.

Tony's point is valid. Testimonies of partition survivors tell of the Baloch military trying to disarm Sikhs before letting them move. Some gave up their arms and regreted it. Some hid their weapons and needed them later on.

Do share source for the last bit you said. I would like to read that.

  11. 3 hours ago, JasperS said:

Further to that why wear a symbolic kirpan, by that I mean most kirpans worn now are not even sharp. So they would not even be a practical weapon. And how would knowing how to use a kirpan save anyone in a country like the USA where 80% of the population carry a gun?

The reality is most people are not faced with the possibility of fighting day to day in life. The world has changed.

I would suggest great career paths for a Sikh would be policing, or the military, or on a smaller scale security guard. For the rest of us (I'm in medical field), I suggest at least taking self defence classes or martial arts training to at least have confidence to know what to do if confronted. But sadly in this day and age with guns everywhere what can we do?

We are only to blame for carrying blunt kirpans and not knowing how to defend yourself.

If I was a situation and I had to pick between drawing a gun from holster or going for a knife and you have a distance of two metres from your attacker....I'd go for the knife all day. drawing a gun, cocking it back, taking safety off then firing. taking a knife out and stabbing violently  and repeatedly.

Blades have many advantages over guns, stealth, less noise, being able to cut multiple directions, switching hands and it seems personal rather than pumping lead into someone.

People talk about guns over blades. Here in the UK who realistically has access to a gun??? & who has experience having a gun pulled on them?

I disagree, fights happen all the time. Wrong place wrong time? walking past a group of west ham fans wearing a millwall t-shirt. Attacks don't have to be personal, many random attacks happen on the street.

@WakeUp and @JasperS I admire ur ability of treating women equally. this is very important thing in sikhi which some fail to understand. sikh women aren't any women they r saint-soldiers. they drank the same amrit as the singhs they have the same power. it is a sikh's dharm to b able to protect him or herself. IF A SIKH CANNOT PROTECT THEMSELVES HOW CAN THEY PROTECT OTHERS? HOW CAN THEY PROTECT THEIR DHARAM? SORRY FOR CAPITAL LETTERS.

I agree with you, that's why most of the people who have taken amrit shouldn't have. why? khalsa is meant to be dharamyudhis most of our khalsa have never been in a scrap, they don't know the reality of fighting, being attacked, how to defend yourself, what to do when the situation arises  . So let's be honest, most people don't know how to react in a confrontation or attack, they freeze. What is the point of wearing a kirpan or sword when you don't know how to use it? seems more of a ritual.

I agree much of the Chaupa Singh rhetnama is adulterated. I don't believe Guru Gobind Singh would approve of telling Singhs to never trust any woman even those close to them (even their own wife) and to consider all women the embodiment of deceit. Yet those words almost exact are included in the translated versions of Chaupa Singh Rhetnama available today. I very highly doubt that would have been supported by the Gurus or in any puratan rhetnama. I believe it also states women should not be given Amrit, that Singhs should never eat jooth from women even their own wives, and that women should never read from Guru Granth Sahib in sangat in public. These things are not in line with Sikhi and only degrade the female gender.

I agree about keski / turban for including women

    Sounds like stkiran

We do not need a title from any Tom sick or Harry. the king of kings guru gobind Singh gave us our martial title, we don't need reassurance from anyone else. We know who we are & don't need to prove it.
