  1. Waheguru Waheguru Excellent share b. Imagine working so hard for many years to attain his grace (in the form of spiritual experiences) and then developing a sense of pride, to loose all of it. This clip demonstrates the powerful demonic force of ego. Bhul chuk maaf
  2. Good news for Canadians though. Quote Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government is sending his legal marijuana law back to the Senate in what are likely the final procedural steps that could see the bill be approved in coming days. 3. Chandu's daughter-in-law features in Sri Sooraj Prakash granth. She was a daughter of a Sikh. Sri Satguru jee (Fifth Master) gave her the option to give up her physical body and come to Sachkhand along with him. Earlier, she had bribed the guards so that she could talk to Maharaaj (also brought food and water for him), as he was placed under arrest at Chandu's house. We should also remember her sacrifice and her love for Sri Satguru jee on this day. For more details, please listen to Gyani Inderjeet Singh jee Raqbewale. Please start listening at 30:00 min: http://www.gurmatveechar.com/audios/Katha/02_Present_Day_Katha/Sant_Giani_Inderjeet_Singh_(Raqbe_wale)/Sri_Gurpartap_Sooraj_Parkash_Katha/05_Sri_Guru_Arjan_Dev_Ji/Giani.Inderjeet.Singh.(Raqbe.wale)--Sooraj.Parkash.Katha.-.Ras.04.Adhyai.34.-.Chandu.Greh.Kasht.-.1995-04-18.mp3 Bhul chuk maaf
  4. In the katha below, Gyani Inderjeet SIngh jee Raqbewale narrates a passage from Sri Sooraj Prakash Granth, which will list the events that led to the Shaheedi of Satguru Sri Guru Arjan Dev jee Maharaaj. One notable miss is the role played by Ahmad Shah Sarhindi. 7. From Sri Assa Kee vaar Sahib jee ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਪੂਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਘਟਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਆਖੈ ॥ Everyone calls himself perfect; none call themselves imperfect. ਪਤਿ ਪਰਵਾਣਾ ਪਿਛੈ ਪਾਈਐ ਤਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੋਲਿਆ ਜਾਪੈ ॥੨॥ If the weight of honor is placed on the scale, then, O Nanak, one sees his true weight. ||2|| Bhul chuk maaf
  8. From Sri Aasaa Kee Vaar Sahib jee: ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਖੁੰਬਿ ਚੜਾਈਐ ਸਰਮੁ ਪਾਹੁ ਤਨਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ In the Fear of God it is bleached white, if the treatment of modesty is applied to the cloth of the body. Bhul chuk maaf
  9. Bhagat Jaswant Singh jee emphasizes on the subtle pronunciations. I don't think other Taksali ustaads are against his way, but it is not possible to complete an Akhand Paath in 48 hrs or complete your nitnem in 1 hr using his method. Other Taksali ustads probably pronounce siharis and aukars in a very subtle and quick way. IMHO, this cannot be considered as a major difference within Taksal. Bhul chuk maaf
  10. Sad news for the Panth. Braj Bhasha is fading into oblivion. Our Panth needs to make sure that it survives and thrives. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/meerut/The-vanishing-languages-of-western-UP/articleshow/46317133.cms @dalsingh101 Bhul chuk maaf
  11. Did you get a chance to read the above book? Bhul chuk maaf
  12. It should be a no-brainer for an Amritdhari Sikh. That's the whole point of wearing a Kirpan and a Kara (to an extent) - Self-defense and protection of others. I will shoot to protect others (especially apne, women, children, elderly) too. If I don't, I am just a disgrace on the Sikh Panth. What about "Putt Jattan de". Don't you think they will shoot back? Bhul chuk maaf
  13. Obviously, I would. It's a no-brainer You won't? Bhul chuk maaf
  14. Today is Sangrand. Ang 133 ਆਸਾੜੁ ਤਪੰਦਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੁ ਨ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਪਾਸਿ ॥ The month of Aasaarh seems burning hot, to those who are not close to their Husband Lord. Bhul chuk maaf

  16. @Soulfinder - Thanks for the link b. Do you (or anyone else) have the detailed version of this sakhi? If yes, please do share. Bhul chuk maaf
  17. Thanks for those verses. Daas was not aware that this curse has been mentioned in Gurbani. Here is the exegesis and the sakhi from Amri Bhandar teeka: Bhul chuk maaf
  18. Remember when some people tried to assassinate him. He just ran away (even though his friend was killed in front of him). He had a gun in his car according to Bhai Ajnala. If that's true, why would a Singh run away that like? I can understand a strategic retreat, while fighting back. He didn't even try to fire back at the assailants. He later said that he wanted to avoid "Bhra Maru Jang". But, how did he know at that point that those assailants were Singhs? They could have been government agents or goons dressed up like Singhs (he had to think like a warrior in that situation). Police cats during Kharkhu lehar used to dress up like Singhs. Bhul chuk maaf
  19. Some Singhs were given trespassing notice by the Gurudwara (here in Ontario), which hosted Dhadri. Please start listening at 15:40 min for that incident. Bhul chuk maaf
  20. What does it say on the ingredient list? Just alcohol? Rehat is very strict on coming in contact with tobacco. IMHO, you don't need to go to Panj Pyare for this. Your intention was not to consume alcohol for intoxication, therefore it is not even a transgression of the Rehat. You can double check though with a Gyani jee (one who has thorough knowledge of the Rehatname). Even some deodorants, colognes, hand sanitizers, etc, have alcohol in them. There are many types of alcohol. Ethanol is present in alcoholic beverages. If you fell uncomfortable with using this mouthwash in the future, there are alcohol free mouthwashes available in the market. You can use those. Bhul chuk maaf
  21. Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee Bhul chuk maaf
  22. Hanuman jee was a dacoit in his previous life. Please listen to Gyani Avtar Singh jee Badnikalan wale about an incident when he (when dacoit) tried to rob some saints and then received a curse. Please start listening at 25:50 min: http://www.gurmatveechar.com/audios/Katha/02_Present_Day_Katha/Bhai_Avtar_Singh_(Badni_Kalan_wale)/Katha_Sri_Guru_Granth_Sahib_Ji/CD_11/10--Bhai.Avtar.Singh--Katha.Guru.Granth.Sahib.Ji.Vol.11--Ang.467%2C.Line.13.mp3 Bhul chuk maaf
  23. Another historical sakhi (from Amir Bhandar) from the life of Sri Satguru jee (First Master), which will prove that Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev jee Maharaaj is the the giver of liberation. Brahma jee, Vishnu jee, Shiv jee, Indar devta and Maya all guide a Pandit to the greatest master of all. Bhul chuk maaf
