Number of enemy forces at the battle of Chamkaur
paapiman replied to paapiman's topic in General Discussion
Bro, Daas is looking for a specific answer, based on Persian language expertise. Saying that it is a literary device, is not very convincing, especially if other evidence is present. Bhul chuk maaf -
Bro, heard it from a scholar. Bhul chuk maaf

According to Sri Zafarnama Sahib jee, an army of 1 million (10 Lacs) attacked the Singhs. How could forty famished persons fight in the battlefield, on whom ten lakh soldiers made a sudden attack.19. Is it possible that Satguru jee and his Singh Soormay could not annihilate a few thousand soldiers? Here is a link to the katha where Gyani jee states that Baba Uday Singh jee Maharaaj, Baba Jeevan Singh jee Maharaaj and some other Singhs exterminated close to 250,000 soldiers. Please listen after 4.00 min. http://www.gurbaniupdesh.org/multimedia/04-Katha/13-Giani Thakur Singh Ji (Patiala Wale)/Katha Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji/CD01(Ang0001-0018)/0060-Ang-0013-Pankti-01.mp3 Bhul chuk maaf -

Bro, what do you think are the numbers from your research? Please do include the Hill chief troops too. Have you read the account of Allah Yaar Khan Jogi Saab (not completely sure about his name)? He has talked about this battle too. Bhul chuk maaf -

Katha on debate between Laxmi and Karam
paapiman replied to mahanpaapi's topic in Sikhi | Questions and Answers
Sorry brother for the delay. Got hold of the scholar yesterday. The sakhi (more or less) is as follows: Lachmee jee claims that I can give money to anyone and make him rich. God says that without Karams, one cannot become rich and happy. Lachmee jee then gives a ruby to a person. He keeps it in his pocket. Later, he goes to drink water along riverside, and the ruby falls into the river, from his pocket. Then, Lachmee jee gives him a gold necklace. He ties it to the robe of his turban. Later, he removes his turban and puts it aside. An eagle comes by and picks up his turban (along with the necklace) and he losses that too. Then, she gives him actual money. He brings it home, but the neighbors steal that money. Lachmee jee tells God that she tried giving him money three times , but he is still poor. What will you do? God's play - He buys something from that same person and gives him some money. The person decides to go home and eat food in bulk. He buys a fish, brings it home and tells his wife to cook it. There was no wood (fuel) in the home, so he tells his wife that he will climb up a tree and get some dry wood. The wife finds the ruby in the fish (fish had eaten the ruby, which had fallen into the river earlier). The person finds the necklace, on top of the tree (eagle dropped it there). He exclaims that he found it. The neighbors overhear him and fear the the person has figured out that we stole his money. They return back the money in secrecy. He gets all the three items, with the mercy of the Almighty Lord. Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Rai Dev Bedi jee Maharaaj Bhul chuk maaf -

Women as Advisors
paapiman replied to paapiman's topic in Gurbani | Gurmat | Spiritual Poetry and Discussions
There is no doubt that Charitars are related to SSGGSJ. When one chooses an adviser, trust is paramount. One will not prefer to have an adviser, who cannot maintain privacy and confidentiality. A fool (ਸਈਆਦ) will trust such an adviser. Daas heard in a katha that women (on average) have a habit of doing Chuglee (gossip). Even, men do gossip, but women are more into it. There is evidence available too, which suggests that women tell more fibs than men. [1] - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3110136/Women-tell-fibs-men-honestly-Four-five-say-tell-lie-daily-basis.html The above shabad is teaching us a great lesson in sociology and human Psychology. Women (on average) are more emotional than men. This is clear from the below Quote The biggest reason to lie was to 'make someone feel better' Unquote [1] When running big organizations, kingdoms, companies, groups, in a sangat, etc, the above factors play a huge role in determining their success. Obviously, one cannot claim that all women are untrustworthy and we must never take advise of women. The keyword here is "on average". There seems to be definite connection of this shabad with the Charitars. God willing, Daas will try to talk to a scholar about it. Additionally (Daas might be wrong), there is a Rehatnama too, which states that a secret must never be revealed to a woman. Bhul chuk maaf -

DDT exegesis of gurbani defective
paapiman replied to Gurbani_Vyakaran's topic in General Discussion
You are right brother. Vyakaran, Parkaran and Uthanka are tools, which can assist us in understanding Gurbani, but Gurbani is not bound by them. Prof.Sahib Singh jee was a very knowledgeable person. Do you know of any more examples? Is Gurbani Vyakaran taught in Taksals or not? Bhul chuk maaf -
Bro, First master was also the guru of Bhagat jee. Later in his life, Bhagat jee met Satguru jee, who taught him nirgun upashna. Bhul chuk maaf

The above clearly proves that Gurbani cannot be bound by Grammar (Vyakaran). If someone can provide examples of those tuks, which are independent of Grammar, that would be great. Dhan Guru Nanak....toon hee Nirankar Bhul chuk maaf -

Good point paaji. It is good for home use, when sitting in a car, in Gurudwara, when on a stroll, etc. Not a great idea to use it, when other people are around you. Thanks a lot for your input. Bhul chuk maaf- 111 replies
