  1. I recently invited khalsa fauji on this forum recently on discussion on sri dasam granth on facebook and recently ensured as far upholding civil healthy vichar on our forum we are committed on that front . I assure him as long he does not break forum rules-swearing/personal attacks he will not banned or anything but he turned down our offer. I have spoken to him on phone many many years ago regarding sri dasam granth, he seems like a nice guy but does seem get carried away from time to time.

  2. Pappiman,

Our sidhant of gurmat is advait, all in one, one in all. From that gurmat sidhant, we don't beleive in seeing other spouse as demi god or demi goddess personality worship rubbish. Please don't confuse gurmat with hindu mat. We don't believe in this cop out method as well its very easy to talk like one bhramgyan or very hard to walk the talk.

Who's really talking like bhramgyani? No one as this is about uphold the gurmat sidhant. Every sikh is encouraged to do that.

We have very right to uphold deep layer of gurmat sidhant so gurmat sidhant presented all time remains unaltered/unclouded allways remains pure-shud gurmat gyan/tat gyan. This has nothing to do with talking like bhramgyani if that case i can equally accuse of other argument- coping out to small self improvement with same crap self loathing non sense.

We are closing this topic now. Enough said.!!

  3. The kaaba was a temple dedicated to lord shiva. Eveybody was a hindu for thousands of years. Christianity comes from the word krishna. Hindus have invented everything in this world. Email, zero, maths was all invented by hindus.

As a sikh as per our living guru guidance, we supposed to give all credit to akaal purkh vahiguru/paratma who is creator of all beings. But if you want to play these silly RSS hindu right wing nationalist games. Let me remind of you following points:

    1. Hindu word itself is not ancient is british creation explaining demographics of people, its not a term to describe dharam.

    2. Sikh term is more ancient term in hindu, Hindu term is no where to found in vedic scriptures, you will find sikh-shisya term in old literature not hindu

    3. Who was shiva dedicated to? Akaal purkh vahiguru(One paratma), he is servant of akaal purkh vahiguru, from non dual absolute advaita consciousness of lord shiva and consciouness of blade of grass is one and same...he is not seen as special as there is only one non dual absolute reality.

    4. If you meant krishna personality limited to five elements, its subjected to death/change. So in fact as i mentioned from absolute point of view- krishna consciousness and simple blade of grass consciousness is one and same. This is according to your absolute advaita school of thought that there is no special personality of five elements so who is really krishna then? whats so special about krishna in absolute stand point? Because labels do not even exist.

I encourage you to rise above from all petty labels. hindu rss nationalist right wing agenda just like i would encourage every right wing nationalist out there (be it hindu, sikh, christian, islam, buddhist) for own peace of mind sake and realize real you is non dual one undivided spirit who binds us all and there are no labels there.

  4. Let break this down for both parties actual gurmat way as gurmat is neither crazy oppressive taliban type male mentality nor crazy feminist type mentality:

    1. If you are getting married, anand karaj is paramount to follow- No where it mentions woman supposed to see their husband as lord , it has a message of both men and woman as one opened surat consciousness merging with undivided non dual source of surat - which is paratma/supreme spirit- vahiguru. It does not suggest the non sense woman soul has to surrender male soul than they merge, its parallel yet together as sangat merging it in their source

    2. It's clearly seen people wrapped their head around (patti varta) but conveniently forget patni varta as they don't mentioned in the same sentence thats taking words out of context and misinterpreting gurmat to boast up your male ego....don't even try to bring holy words like oh purakh is consider male sargun vahiguru in sri guru granth sahib..how about chandi feminine sargun vahiguru mentioned in dasam granth sahib ji?

    3. Now to crazy feminism, good lord just because some chores are defined by both sexes it has nothing to do with inequality get a grip, this just shows how feeble your inner understanding with your partner really is. If both partners are connected each other surat to surat looking to abide in their real self these senseless nitty gritty differences will not rise at the first place.

    4. Back to the original topic, on premises on equality this is wrong move these couples obviously failed to see traditions behind it. The fact palla some control is given to female as well shows equal balance.

Gurbani Vyakaran rule is must correct for gurbani explanation. If katha giani goes outside of vyakaran boundary should be rejected.

DDT uses stories which most of them have nothing to do with gurbani meaning break grammar rules

Beginning DDT kathakar opens mouth they break vyakaran rules they start with same hindumat story end with hindu vedant meaning break countless of vyakaran rules

No doubt vikyaran is important. In fact no one is ignoring vikyaran as its basis to initially understand gurbani. However, unlike worldly scriptures gurbani is divine poetry. Taksal whilst holding general grammar basis considers gurbani as "dhur ki bani", 'anubhav parkash'- divine poetry/came from spontenous intuitve divine knowledge which is not confined by regular grammar rules.

Where is regular vyakaran? how do you apply vyakaran in this maha gyan vak of gurbani?

  6. PMKC doing great work but saw some of members asking for self approval from other jatha...I mean thats pretty pathetic if you ask me, why you want self approve from other jathas on what you doing is right or wrong follow the shabad along. Follow it along, did some of its members forget they are singhs of sri guru gobind singh ji that they don't need approval from others...talk about self esteem issues of that person. May be need to address that issue before start naam japing

  7. Salam to All

I am from Punjab, Pakistan ... I am here to learn about the history of the Sikh religion, and its basic teachings. I, like many others here in Pakistan, grew up listening to terrible stories about Sikhs (and Hindus) .. But when I actually started reading about Sikhism, I was surprised to learn that the Guru Granth Sahib contained (some) verses of  Muslim Origin, and that the Sikh Gurus didn't preach (or practice) hatred towards any religion (including Islam) .. I would like to learn more about the Sikh Gurus and their wars against Mughals ... Can anyone suggest some good (and neutral) sources please ?

Welcome Sarmad to our forum, hope you enjoy your stay here. For starters , you may research into gurmat (theology of sikh religion given in gurbani compositions- Mool mantar/Japji sahib/rehraas /Asa di var Sukhmani sahib /Akaal ustat) from there you will know Guru sahib perception or vision not just for muslims but all of humanity equally. History is interpretation of historian we should definitely read it too but one gets true picture what's Sikh Guru's vision-dristhi / perception really is from their own writings, baba farid ji writing in sri guru granth sahib ji which were included in sri guru granth sahib ji

  8. Great efforts by kamalroop singh and gurinder singh mann hoping to raise collective consciousness of our community, giving a chance for rest of humanity to enjoy wisdom of sri dasam guru granth ..i really suggest people pay full price for this great work..we all need to help rebuild enrich literature framework in our community.

    • First translations of apocryphal texts of the Dasam Granth
    • Focuses on the Sikh manuscript tradition, the relics of Guru Gobind Singh and their relationship with Sikh scripture
    • Brings to light the traditional practices of Sikh Sampradayas like the Akali Nihangs
    • Carries rare images of the Dasam Granth

This book offer new insights into the secondary scripture of the Sikhs, Dasam Patshah Ka Granth or the Granth of Guru Gobind Singh. The scripture has in recent time adopted the name of Dasam Granth and has traditionally been attributed to Guru Gobind Singh. Many studies have adopted a polemic approach and focused on the authorship of the text. This book takes a multi-disciplinary approach and considers the relationship of the scripture in terms of newly discovered manuscripts, apocryphal translations, and relics. The manuscript tradition shows how the Granth was written and compiled during Guru Gobind Singhâs time as well as transmission of the compositions onto material items such as the swords. The book also considers the compositions which were ignored by the Sodhak Committee as a result a thorough examination of these apocryphal texts has been undertaken. This is supplemented with complete translation of these compositions.

New narratives are discussed including the relationship of the text to the eighteenth century Khalsa. This is witnessed through the traditional groups like the Akali Nihangs who venerate the text in its entirety and on par with the primary scripture Adi Granth. A consideration of the practices at the thrones of polity or Takhts shows the inter relationship and unity of both Adi Granth and Dasam Granth. The book in essence takes the reader through the history of the Sikh faith and how the Dasam Granth has a central place in this history.

Readership: This book will be of considerable interest to scholars and students of religious studies, history of the sikhs, and social and cultural studies.

  9. Bro, is he a Sikh or a Radhaswamia?

    Bhul chuk maaf

Does it that matter when it comes to philanthropy? Sure he is sikh from universal sense- he is learner(sikh-shisya-student) but from strict dharamic sense he is follower dehdhari radhaswami Guru so he is not..anyway enjoy the great story...look at the essence i don't wrap my head around on these semantics details. He is donating his money for seva..thats good enough for me/good human for me and yes good sikh from universal sense for me.

  10. Yes i agree such precedence should not be set otherwise we will not have maryada in next 10-15 years if such things keep going on so maryada has to be maintained carefully. I have mentioned this before on this case, it be beneficial for couple if they would have made extra efforts to abide in the teaching of anand karaj rather than wrapping their head around semantics of outer traditions.

All though exceptions are made in case by case cases when it comes to outer external modification of anand karaj lavan ceremony. For example-
