    ^^^^Same here.

Plus the size of the everything seems slightly skewed too.

    N30 what's up?

Can you please send me screenshot of the size? There shouldn't be significant cosmetic changes in the update, its more system related.

  2. Just giving an update, since we started this project it's been huge success on youtube especially videos below. The whole reason for doing this, is to increase presence of sikh meditations on youtube in comparison with other dharam meditations which is widely available online and also giving sangat a chance to relax and enjoy these light meditations which can be done anytime.

We be updating the list with more meditations videos..i am doing lot of mixes with native american flute, shamanic flute etc with mool mantar or maha mantar as back drop- true underlying reality.

    Enjoy

  3. It make more sense to actively promote NOBODY drinking, as alcohol is against Sikh ideals anyway! Perpetuating the idea that it's ok for men to drink and not ok for women to drink, when in reality its not ok for ANYONE to drink, just promotes the idea that somehow its ok for men to 'break the rules' without consequences. See, I am western, and I do NOT support ANYONE drinking alhocol, or partying... so much for that 'nasty' western feminism thing I have been accused of.  Nor do I hate men.  Nor do I want to push men into a subordinate role.

What I want to see in Sikhi is actually VERY VERY simple and is what Gurbani is telling us to do:

    1. Bibis should not be stopped from any seva or religious position - Gurbani says straight out that ALL are equal and ALL Gurmukhs are to see eveveryone with a single eye of equality for in each and every heart the divine light is contained (God is in ALL equally).
    2. Singhs need to stop promoting this nonsense that women are impure, dirty, less spiritual inclined etc. due to Sootak - Guru Nanak Dev Ji directly condemned the idea of sootak when he said as a woman has her periods each month so does falsehood dwell in the mouths of the false. Pure are NOT those who merely wash their bodies. Pure are those ONLY in whose mind the Lord abides.  Meaning, purity is within our mind and actions, not natural biological functions created by Waheguru.
    3. Stop perpetuating nonsense like wives are inferior to their husbands and must look at them as God over them and obey them. -  The instruction to see all equally, is to EVERY Gurmukh. A Gurmukh husband must also see the divine in his wife on equal level to himself.  Husband is not in authority over or in control of his wife. They are two halves of one whole. Pati Parmeshwar is not a Sikh concept. It's a Brahaministic concept brought into Sikhi to degrade women.  Husband and wife are equal, despite their obvious biological differences related to procreation. The consciousness / soul within the bodies are the same and deserve the same treatment.

This to me is not the 'nasty' western feminism that you guys have been speaking about LOL. The above 3 points are simply HUMANIST.  Giving all humans equal opportunity and dignity despite their physical differences.

Satkiran penji you forgot to put at the end its from satkiran.

  4. For anyone else who might know - ill ask the questions again:

    1) I take it from the above quote that the cow protection/holiness came only during the time of the 10th Guru and then after  - since no quote was given from the Adi granth - Am I correct in assuming that it's not in there ?

    1. I would call it cow satva(pure) just as water not holiness. Holiness gives a spiritual status like hindus which we don't. We don't eat cows not for holiness but rather not eat cow for giving milk to humanity. Milk is consider satva (pure) food which in its relative context has its place when it comes to proper diet for spiritual (satva) pure mind.

Not really just because there is no mentioning of cow protection does not meant prior to tenth guru there was none.

    2) "Sikhs gave their lives for cows " - I'm a bit confused as to how far the relationship of the cow is in Sikhism. One one had God is in everyone - so why give more importance to a cow then a human being - doesn't make sense - you would kill a human to protect a cow. Unless like Hinus the belief was that cows are somehow divine.

    2. You are taking relative quote based on circumstances out of context. There is no confusion as such as message of mool mantar is clear and cut. Again who said about killing a human being over a cow. In the past, we defended cow slaughters usually on premises over challenge from mughals/muslims who were taking over a india, they were making a statement by killing a cow. We defended against cow killing by fascist muslism/mughals to set the record straight as they were making a statement.

In nepal, there is cow slaughter ritual by hindus in india and in nepal there to their demi god. You don't see sikhs fighting them or giving up their life for it.

    3) does this mean again that Sikhism is fundamentally an India religion, that can't shake off its cultural tires with India. For instance if Sikhism had spread to an Arab country, there are no cows in the desert. They use Camels for Meat, Milk, travel, Clothes, trade etc. Would Sikhs then give the same value to Camels as they do cows. Or horses in Eastern Turkey - each geographical area has its own Animal of choice.

    3. Your point is invalid as you are using historical examples or events to draw a broader  conclusion

    4) Also I can appreciate that Sikhs and Hindu due to their own religious beliefs hold the cow scared - but when that belief is imposed on others others that don't hold that belief - isn't that religious intolerance / oppression ? I though Guru Nanak was against forcing your beliefs on anther people ?

    4. This is what happens when you take out historical account out of context then top of it draw our own narrative out of it. Classic example is infront of you - cow is slaughtered in massive amounts in nepal and also in india yet we don't impose our beleifs on them, those previous quotes from ugardanati along with sikhs have a given up their life for cows has to be properly contextualized, conceptualized within historical framework of mughal era where mughals were slaughtering cows to make clear statement as they were invading and we gave our lives stopping cows slaughter by fighting back with mughals.

  5. Thats what we are ALL supposed to do... and that's fine until..... Singhs start telling those female Sants they are "not allowed" to do this and "not allowed" to do that because they are female.  THAT'S when it matters. That's when you can no longer ignore the issues and pretend they don't exist.  I already do not identify with my gender. I consider myself just as a soul - genderless. But it matters when Singhs start telling me, I can't do seva certain times because I am impure, or telling me I could never do seva as Panj Pyaras because I am female, or telling me that no matter how good I ever become at Kirtan, I could never perform kirtan at Darbar Sahib because I am female, or palki sahib seva there, or etc etc etc - It becomes difficult to just pretend it doesn't exist when Singhs seem to be the ones enforcing these restrictions at every corner!

Reality is very different in real life as what you seeing is small portion point 0.1 of people have this belief online.

Mind is very powerful thing, what you perceive thats what makes it your reality, it appears you are letting some opnions on internet virtual reality shape your wider reality perception of things.

Regarding certain seva, indian sikhs both male and female don't see it that way at all as they see from traditional aspect, even akj singhanis in india and akj singhanis abroad have difference of opinions on many things,  as there are culture of differences, mainly overall culture in which they both grew up and raised, they are different.

  6. Why are male Sikh Sants well known, but the female Sants you have to actually search for articles about them? And how many males would actually LISTEN to a female Sant?  Neo has already posted some of them on here.  How many of you would actually listen to and abide by what any of these female Sants teach? How many Singhs shrug them off instead, thinking their place is not to be teaching religious tenets but instead should be in the kicthen cooking dinner??

Actually lot of people and yes sikh male including are listening to female sant because they NO longer would identify with body, gender, identity, insecurity, inferority complex issues, all kind of crazy conceptual/ideas/beleif isms out there including western feminism.

Here is the video of sikh female sant talking about soul look how everyone - mostly sikh male (including taksalis ) are listening attentively:

  7. The reason many akj females don't see the influence of western feminism because they are in it thats why, you can only see western feminism influence or any influence if you are outside of its realm with full 360 eagle eye perception. Read about how keski being kakar came about- who bought it and how the person was revisionist influenced by western protestant abhramic thought. Western feminism is off bred revolt movement against church protestant repressive misogynist notions.

Lets stick to the topic, we can discuss it on thread of thirteen reforms of panch khalsa divan.

  8. Only insomuch as it's part and parcel of the whole bickering thing.

The ONLY thing we need to remember... as Khalsa we are ONE.  There's a reason there is a UNIFORM.  There are no different grades of Khalsa ---- There is only ONE KHALSA.  We are ALL ONE.  Let's PLEASE PLEASE try to focus on on that!

Yes we are all ONE from absolute point of view but sikhi is also relative-sargun which has diverse aspects of divine one has bhagti and other one is shakti. Bhagti denotes  humility of devotee - submission to God-Ishat/Sant/Sadh sangat and other one is shakti-chandi - sword/ feminine energy, khalsa mother glorified as traditions in hazoor sahib.

Our lack of understanding of sikhi via multi traditions/aspects of divine causes all kind of issues. We should not view sikhi with equality brush/feminist/abhramic mindset.

I have mentioned this before but i will say it again - yes female is seen maya-illusory from relative point of view in sikhi as an stage to transcendent but same female/feminine energy is also glorified as shakti-energy/mother of earth an aspect of divine. So thats why i found your stance on sri guru granth sahib ji, sri dasam granth on just basis of crazy western feminism non sense-  quite hypocritical and quite out of depth.

  9. The other side of the coin is that if we do not have kes, turban, rehit, amrit and politics, our identity will be lost as a community. So this is also essential part. That is why Guru Nanak came in 10th form and concluded with the Khalsa.

Obviously ,bhagti comes first, then shakti automatically follows.

But yes, we do not preach Naam Simran a lot. Not like guys like Deepak, Sadhguru, Adyashanti, Eckart, Sivananada, etc etc.  We had Harbhajan SIngh Yogi. He really explained the mechanics behind mantra chanting & gurbani recitation. But after him, I do not see a great Sikh leader in the international politics.

ps. the gender issue has been mentioned again.  please do not hijack this topic again lol

I totally agree with everything you said except politics aspect..i may be wrong in this but i really don't think politics played now at panthic circle has anything to do with miri aspect of sikhi. Politics played now is tribal punjabi culture eccentric not very high level like chankya rajniti. And unfortunately its not a new thing, its pretty old because our misals went through historical wars that we never got a chance to sit down and look at the miri aspect deeply intertwined with piri. I am not sure if soraj parkash granth talks about this or not.

  10. Naam is both anhad naad/shabad dhun and beyond anhad naad. We can say - anhad naad is aspect of Naam but not naam itself in its totality. Naam in absolute sense is - gyan chaitan saroop (enlightened consciouness in all of us)- devoid of all experience because its stateless state-source where everything arises and subsides. Anything perceivable, expereinceable cannot be naam in absolute sense as Naam is changeless background source-underlining reality field in which everything arose from.

  11. Yes we don't relay meditative perception of us to wider public for example my wife sri lankan friend and husband came to our house and saw huge sant isher singh ji rara sahib picture meditating in our living room, they were surprised and say- you guys follow meditation too? I was like our dharam full premises on naam/meditation..they were surprised.

Our gurdwaras/modern day parcharikhs have literally failed us. No wonder people who have spiritual thirst are  are going to other sub par spiritual sects like radhaswamis/nirankaris/ etc.

  12. Looks like makkar is in self -destructive mode for himself and his ferengi sgpc organization because when people(wider sangat) looses confidence in a organization, it be reduced to dust..Good riddance to him and his SGPC ..sangat have woken up..Looks like this our version of arab spring.

However, i must say its kinda unfortunate because of makkar other members of sgpc who simply work there on a payroll to support their families are being thrased by hot headed elements in our community..It's quite important at this stage and current times, our panth/sangat not to loose directions/view of wider picture not to be distracted, sway away from single pointedness aim which is find culprits their masters- who have attacked our ISHAT Shabad Guru- Dhan Dhan Dhan Sri guru granth sahib ji.

Make no mistakes, whoever those culprits and their masters are have attacked most central point of sikhism which is our ISHAT Guru. Finding them should be our main focus.
