  3. Pakistan: 150-year-old Temple To Ground, Another Hindu Temple Attacked With Rocket Launchers Monday, July 17, 2023 In two separate incidents in Sindh province of Pakistan, a 150-year old Hindu temple was razed to ground while another temple was attacked with rocket launchers. A group of assailants attacked a Hindu temple and adjoining homes belonging to the Hindu community in Sindh’s Kashmore during the early hours of Sunday. The group fired “rocket launchers” at Hindu, which was closed during the attack. The temple opens annually for religious services conducted by the Bagri community. According to local police, eight or nine gunmen were involved in the attack. The rocket launchers fired by the attackers failed to explode, resulting in no loss of life. Bagri community, widely regarded in an indigenous community in Pakistan’s Sindh and Punjab provinces, is referred to as ‘scheduled caste’ in Pakistan’s constitution. They speak Bagri language and practice Hinduism. Dawn quoted Dr Suresh, a member of the Bagri community, as saying that the rocket launchers fired by the dacoits failed to explode, resulting in no loss of life. He urged the police to protect the community, saying the incident had left the residents in a state of panic. The violent attack on the Kashmore temple comes days after dacoits in the Kashmore and Ghotki riverine areas issued threats to attack Hindu places of worship and community members in retaliation to Seema Haider Jakhrani's PUBG love story. On Friday a night, the 150-year old Mari Mata Temple in Karachi’s Soldier Bazar was razed to the ground by bulldozers in the presence of a heavy contingent of police force. The temple was demolished after being declared an old and dangerous structure in Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh Province. The temple, which is sprrad over 400-500 square yards, had been the target of land grabbers and developers for years now. The temple was under the management of the Madrasi Hindu community of Karachi. A member of the Madrasi Hindu community said that they were facing pressure to vacate by two individuals, namely, Imran Hashmi and Rekha AKA Nagin Bai. There was also reports that the temple being sold off by the two named to another party for an amount of 70 million rupees and the buyers were looking to build a commercial building there. Ram Nath Mishra Maharaj, the caretaker of the nearby Shri Punch Mukhi Hanuman Mandir, said that the bulldozers left the outer walls and the temple’s main gate intact, but they demolished the entire inside structure. The community has appealed to the Pakistan-Hindu Council, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and the Inspector General of Sindh police to address the issue on an urgent basis. In June 2022, Shri Mari Mata Mandir in Karachi was desecrated by a mob. The violent mob broke into the house of the priest and vandalised it. They even damaged the idol of Shri Mari Mata Mandir that the priest had kept in his house due to renovation work at the temple. In August 2021, the Ganesh temple in Punjab’s Rahim Yar Khan district was vandalised by a mob of over 200 people. In March, a group of unidentified people attacked an over 100-year-old Hindu temple in Rawalpindi. In December 2020, a mob of over 1,500 Muslims attacked and set fire to a Hindu temple in a village in Karak district, some 160 kilometres southeast of Peshawar. Discrimination and violence against religious minorities are commonplace in Pakistan, where Muslims make up 97 per cent of the population and Hindus around two percent. Temples belonging to the minority Hindu population in Pakistan are often the target of mob violence. 4. India registers remarkable reduction in poverty; 415 million people out of poverty level in just 15 years: UN 11 Jul 2023 India lifted 415 million people out of poverty within 15 years, according to the UN. The achievement was highlighted in the latest update of the Multidimensional Poverty Index. 25 countries, including India, successfully halved their MPI values within the same timeframe. UN said that 25 countries, including India, successfully halved their global MPI values within 15 years, showing that rapid progress is attainable. UN said that 25 countries, including India, successfully halved their global MPI values within 15 years, showing that rapid progress is attainable. A total of 415 million people moved out of poverty in India within just 15 years from 2005/2006 to 2019/2021, the UN said on Tuesday. With this data, the UN highlights the remarkable achievement by the world's most populous nation. The latest update of the global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) was released by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) at the University of Oxford. It said that 25 countries, including India, successfully halved their global MPI values within 15 years, showing that rapid progress is attainable. These countries include Cambodia, China, Congo, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Serbia, and Vietnam. As per UNDP, “..India saw a remarkable reduction in poverty, with 415 million people exiting poverty within a span of just 15 years (2005/6–19/21). Large numbers of people were lifted out of poverty in China (2010–14, 69 million) and Indonesia (2012–17, 8 million)..." Earlier in April, India surpassed China to become the world’s most populous nation with 142.86 crore people, according to UN data. The report also demonstrates that poverty reduction is achievable, however, the lack of comprehensive data during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic poses challenges in assessing immediate prospects, it said. As per the report, in India, 415 million poor people moved out of poverty from 2005/2006 to 2019/2021, with incidence falling from 55.1 percent in 2005/2006 to 16.4 per cent in 2019/2021. In 2005/2006, about 645 million people were in multidimensional poverty in India, with this number declining to about 370 million in 2015/2016 and 230 million in 2019/2021. Furthermore, the report also noted that deprivation in all indicators declined in India, and “the poorest states and groups, including children and people in disadvantaged caste groups, had the fastest absolute progress." According to the report, people who are multidimensionally poor and deprived under the nutrition indicator in India declined from 44.3 per cent in 2005/2006 to 11.8 per cent in 2019/2021, and child mortality fell from 4.5 per cent to 1.5 per cent. In the drinking water indicator, the percentage of people who were multidimensionally poor and deprived fell from 16.4 in 2005/2006 to 2.7 in 2019/2021. In the same way, the percentage of people who were multidimensionally poor and deprived fell from electricity from 29 per cent to 2.1 per cent) and housing from 44.9 per cent to 13.6 per cent, the report showed. The report also said that countries with different incidences of poverty also halved their global MPI value. While 17 countries that did so had an incidence under 25 per cent in the first period, India and Congo had a starting incidence above 50 per cent. India was among the 19 countries that halved their global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) value during one period - for India it was 2005/2006–2015/2016. 5. From basics of Sikhi channel. While Sikhs are sleeping missionaries are putting programs all around the world to convert you. While our babas are saying everything is the same but are shocked when these kind of events happen.
  6. You've been going against farmers lately, what happened that is triggering you to do this? Is it something you found in your research or something your learning in uni?
  7. TERMS USED TO DESCRIBE DATES In Gurbani, particularly in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib, certain terms are used to describe dates and events. For example, in Sri Benti Chaupai Sahib, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji writes about the day that the Chaupai Sahib Bani was composed :- ਭਾਦ੍ਰਵ ਸੁਦੀ ਅਸਟਮੀ ਰਵਿ ਵਾਰਾ ॥ In the month of Bhadon - on Sudi 8 - on a Sunday. ਤੀਰ ਸਤੁਦ੍ਰਵ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸੁਧਾਰਾ ॥੪੦੫॥ On the banks of the Sutlej River, this bani was completed. Or sometimes we hear of dates of historical events described in certain words :- For example, the Parkash Dihara of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji is on Poh Sudi 7. What is Bhadon Sudi 8 or Poh Sudi 7? Bhadon or Poh is the month as in the Indian Calender - as described in Gurbani in Baramaha Paath. Sudi 8 means the 8th day AFTER the new moon(Massia) - counting the new moon day as zero. To understand better, study the image below. It describes the day of Poh Sudi 7 in the year 2017. Check this graph http://www.gurukhoj.com/assets/img/Sudi Vadi.jpg In year 2022, month of Bhadon is from Aug 17 to Sep 16. Massia(New Moon) is on Aug 27. So the ucharan date of Sri Chaupai Sahib in the year 2022 is on 4th September 2022 (Bhadon Sudi 8). NOTE : While the above is correct, there are some years when adjustments are made to the calender. This is because ... A solar year (the time it takes Earth to orbit the sun) lasts around 365 days. A lunar year (12 full cycles of the Moon) is roughly 354 days. 12. Could there also be a colonized layer With centuries of west colonizing India could it also be the punjabi population is imitating there colonizers. They want to follow there religion, speak there language, adopt there lifestyle, imitate there customs and mannerism. There is hugh craze of punjabis trying to imitate the western world. Could this be the trauma of colonialism.
  13. There's also a foreign layer Huge funds are flowing in from various Christian missions based in Western countries like USA, Canada and UK. The religious conversion drive is being carried out by Christian missionaries in Punjab with funds arriving from foreign countries. It is believed that over Rs. 10,000 crores in foreign contributions come to India every year. This huge amount is mostly for Christian missionary activities. Gospel for Asia (GFA), which is an Oriental Orthodox Christian Mission based in Texas, USA, had donated about Rs. 600 crores for various church movements in India. GFA regularly seeks donations from Americans for the church programs in India. This basically means getting new converts. One of its brochures says: “India’s over one billion people are … responding to Jesus in record numbers…”
  14. Dass, is talking in a very particular narrow context. When our sant/babas are talking about other faiths they seem to think everyone believes the same thing. Not knowing that Abrahamic religions are exclusive, in that they believe only there religion is true and other religions lead to hell. Our sant/babas ignore the fact that other religions see us as going to hell. Then why are they saying we all believe the same thing. Dass, would like to know why they are saying this.
  15. Puratan sampradays are vitally important as they can lead the Sangat in the right direction. Progress will be slow at a individual level. The sampradays collectively can make a big difference. 100% agree. The sewa society videos you posted, where people see with there own eyes what is happening is changing peoples mind for the better. You can see how impacted people are when they see with own eyes.
  16. The root problem is that our Sant/babas have intellectually disarmed us by saying every path leads to Waheguru, everything is true. Our sant/babas don't know enough about the Abrahamic religions to make that kind of judgment. Its due to their ignorance that we are being taken advantage of.
  17. Don't forget dass already posted a video of missionaries trying to convert Sikhs INSIDE Darbar Sahib. You also might find this interesting. 4th largest church in the world is in Punjab with 118,000 members. Punjab witnessed 600% growth in conversions – 1800 new churches!
  18. Are puratan sampradays aware of this and what are they doing about this?
  19. Is this a Udasi Samprada Gurdwara? Do you have pictures from inside the Gurdwara or close up of Nishan Sahib? Also, you visit many interesting places is there anyway you can record video of these places and upload them to youtube, for the benefit of Sangat who can't visit these places. Waheguru Ji
