  1. Veer N30 Singh, where can I get a copy of this video when it comes out? And who is making this video? Hope they show a lot of martial arts.
  2. Veer Baba Manochal (nice name!) It’s a mistake for Sikhs to think that the method of slaughter for factory farmed animals is even remotely “Chatkaâ€. If they do think that is chatka, then they are not after Sanatan Sikh traditions, but just after meat. They are just fooling themselves and others into thinking that is Chatka. If you are eating from KFC, McDonalds, Harveys, all the “chatka†shops in UK(all of whom buy meat from factory farms!) you are going against the Snatan Sikh tradition of Chatka by committing a Krahit by eating non-Chatka meat and should get pesh to Budha Dal next time you are in India.

  4. Beast, they just have the word “jatka†written outside of their meat shops. They get their meat from factory farmed animals. That is not Jatka. Jatka is when an animal is killed with a single blow of decapitation using a Tulwar. That is not how they slaughter the animals in the UK.
  5. Kulla = Loose and Baana = chola so I guess khula bana must mean “loose banaâ€. Veer Narsingha, but how do the Nihangs in the west get thier Chatka meat? is the animal killed with a single blow from the tulwar?
  6. Veer Lalleshwari, I don’t think chuRidar Pejama can be equated with Pants. It’s the difference between a Kashera to a western boxer short, or Bandar Kachi. But Veer Lalleshwari, the Nihangs in India do not even wear a Pejama Kurta as that is against Nihang traditions. If they feel cold as you may have noticed, they just wear those long johns from the ankle to the knees, but never even a pejemi, much less pants which is totally alien to India. As for the meat eating, we both agree that a meat eating Sikh is only allowed to eat Jatka meat. But in the west, I don’t know of any place in which a Sikh kills an animal with a single blow using a Tulwar. Yikes! don’t the neighbors complain?
  7. Sorry mate, I am talking about some "nihangs" not following the Nihang traditions. I just know about the Nihangs as anyone born in Punjab does. Animals in the west are not killed using the Chatka method, which is the only way a meat eating Sikh is allowed to eat meat. Bhai Kahn Singh Jee Nabha in his Sikh Encyclopedic Mahan Kosh writes the definition of Jatka. Jatka: By uttering “Sat Sri Akalâ€, to then decapitating the head from the body with a single blow using a Shastar. Bhai Sahib gives the meaning of “Jatkauna†in the same page: Jatkouna: To decapitate the head of an animal from the body with a single blow using a Tulwar Veer Lalleshwari that is what Jatka is. This is not how animals are killed in the west. Unless the westernized “nihangs†buy there meat from India killed in the traditional method, I could respect that. But unfortunately, that is not so. furthermore, how do you explain the fact that the "nihangs" in the west have allowed themselves to wear pants and shorts. Whats all that about? no self respecting Nihang in India would even think of wearing pants, I'm sure even Veer Narsingha can agree with that.
  8. No it doesn’t Beast. Non Halal i.e. Haram meat is a separate issue then the one I am stating here. Do you know how animals are killed here in the west? Suffice to say, it is in no way Chatka. Anyway, the point I am trying to get across is follow an authentic group and that too from India.
  9. thanks, actually I got this point from another forum. But regardless of where I got it from, it is the truth.
  10. Veer Rakesh Singh If you want to retake amrit from an organization of your choosing that is great. At least you’ll know what you are. You want to take Amrit from the Nihangs, fine. But make sure you take Amrit from the real Nihangs from India, not the modern ones in western countries. Many pseudo “Nihangs†in the west do not live by the Maryadha of the real Nihangs of India. For one thing, a real Nihangs only wears a Chola. The western “nihangs†have allowed themselves to wear pants, and shorts. Anyone who has lived with the Nihangs of India knows that a real Nihang worth his salt would not even dream of wearing anything other then a chola. The real Budha Dal Nihangs only eat Chatka meat. The western “nihangs†have allowed themselves to eat non-chatka meat. Because here in the west animals are killed in the non-Chatka method, and that too by a non-Sikh. This is a direct violation of Budha Dal Maryadha. If you are a Vegetarian, then there are Nihang groups within the Tarana Dal that are Vegetarians as well. There are other things I don’t want to get into right now. But suffice to say, take amrit from the real Nihangs in India, rather then the British influenced wanabee Nihangs we are seeing in western countries in particular the UK.
