  1. pardon me if i'm wrong, but i think in order to be sikhs you gotta learn to be human first, instead of barbaric animalistic goons that have no capacity to think independently.
  2. dayam... first of all... you guys seriously need to lighten up. honestly... if you're gonna be this serious in THIS section... you need a get a life. and i dun care HOW you take that. offensively, rudely, something that a "chav" would say, whatever... brucely lucy, ya SERIOUSLY need a to get your head checked man. first of all, hell-bound monkey has REPEATEDLY apologized in his posts and is making an effort to actually discuss this in a proper way with you, and you just seem to be turning it around on him. man i dunno what he said that hurt you so bad, that you cannot see past your own "pain" to recognize the fact that he's apologized for it and wants to discuss stuff with you in a proper manner. if you really wanna discuss things around here, you're gonna need to build a thicker skin that. i've had worse things said to me both on this site and off this site. and you dun see me break down and cry about it. so seriously. and this isn't just for brucey lucy, but everyone else around here who've been acting like total idiots. and i'm not gonna apologize for sayin that. so do what you want. call me a "chav" if you like. i seriously couldn't care less.
  3. muli wala sher, i think you'll have agree with me when i say this, but the reason the caste system is perfect in theory is because it is based on a fair and just world, which we don't have. you spoke about Plato and his ideal society (i wish i could remember what he called it). of course you're familiar with his entire system of thought and his Forms and forms. you should also know that Plato himself concluded that such a society is not humanly possible. we're too caught up in smaller details and cannot adjust our beliefs to make way for the higher truth. on the other hand, palm tree, i think you need to defo take a look beyond that particular passage as merely being justification for the caste system. that passage can also be looked at as acceptance of Hukam. if people aren't born blacksmiths or geniuses, similarly you must recognize that the passage is saying that we must accept that some of us are meant to be doctors and some of us blonde bimbos. to each his/her own. am i makin any sense here?
  4. i voted incorrectly. can i go back and change it please?
  5. muli wala sher is being very bad. hell-bound monkey, i command you to eat him. i know you monkies eat everything and anything. DO IT! (munchkin dun you dare tell them what i mean)
  6. may the timmywaley sants take pity on your anger and take you into their fold and help you become free from your bonds of anger through a medium ice-cap. jai ho timmeywaley sants di...
  7. exactly what are you talkin about? care to explain to us non-brits?
  8. you edited your post! couldn't handle the embarassment of not understanding the joke, eh, muli wala sher? koi na. i phorgives ju.
  9. true we're all passionate about sikhi. but hitler was passionate about killing the jews. passion or enthusiasm without any moral or ethical guiding light is dangerous. my worry is that with the enthusiasm people show in segregating themselves and creating distinctions and identities, we're just weakening ourselves. moving back to dera tim hortons. if i'm a social reject and dera timmy's is VERY social, that means that i'll be rejected again. oh the agony of being a social reject and outcast. i can't even fit in with the timmywaley sants.
  10. *smacks her forehead in disdain* muli wala sher... tsk... i'm not even gonna explain the underlying meaning of my suggestions. munchkin knows what i'm talkin about and will prepare accordingly for lionzero and agoogookaur. bejeebers!
  11. sausage. mebbe some cream pies to go with the tea? who knows. he's a scary munchkin, he is.
  12. this ain't msn, you nutcase.
  13. use a straightening iron if you're that concerned. ugh...
  14. i am a social reject... save me oh timmywaley sants! (not) but it's seriously disappointing to see how we're our own worst enemies. no one has been able to divide sikhs as much as sikhs have been able to put up walls between each other. enh...
  15. no. i am a cupcake. you're the munchkin. stop gettin mixed up.
  16. you and muli wala sher. rishta. when you went to india.
  17. awww... look everyone, beast visited muli wala sher's pind to get a rishta done with him. so how'd it go beasty?
  18. :? Neo has a farm? omg...
  19. see there's two sides to this issue. if we just close our eyes and do whatever, we're just blindly following the trail Guru Sahib left for us. and one of the things that we're not supposed to do is to follow rituals blindly. but on the other hand, when you ask too many questions or you think about things too much, you tend to get lost in unimportant details. sometimes i get the feeling though that it's not necessarily the answers for the questions that we need, but rather the questions themselves (awareness). i'm guessing the solution to this lies in finding a balance between the two. so... who wants to show us the balanced way of doin things?
  20. what do you think of the notion that it isn't as important understanding why something is said as just doing it as a means to "realization"? i'm generally aversive to doing that, merely cuz i can't stop questioning things (and i know it'll be the death of me someday soon), but some people have pointed out that faith should be enough.
  21. no doubt about that. i totally agree with what you're saying. but i think the point is that there's a fine line between what's acceptable and what isn't. how do we ascertain what we can accept and what we can't? and if we don't make attempts to stop such degrading comments at a small scale, do we risk allowing them to snowball into something bigger? i have no set stance on what happened, so i'm merely representing the other side of things.
  22. nah. americans have a good cup of coffee and moans. AAAHAHAHA. ok i'm done now. who's this malwe da sher? very interesting how he picks up on others' *ahem* vocal tendencies.
  23. oookay... i wish to retract my statement, cuz i don't support generalizing discriminatory statements. my only point was i loved the old banner and this one's nice. you can leave it like this if you want to. hell-bound monkey, remind me not to get involved in your joke-turned-serious threads. ugh...
  24. ah. now me understands. well welcome to the club i guess. cuz i'm still working through the same issues.
