  1. hello anyoen who has merged with God through simran/seva is a saint, be it in the past or now.
  2. Bhagat Namdev touched and bowed to the feet of a dog and when Bhagat Namdev died he wisehd to be burried in the temple door so that everyone could put his feet on his samadhi and bless him. Those Gursiksh who take pride in turning to the dust of the feet of saints find GOD. Touching the feet has two meaning ! You should touch the feet of people out of respect, out of age, out of humility and u should touch there feet becoz God is in them. It is a matter of attitude with which poeple touch the feet. see look you should touch the feet of True Saint and not that of a human being. you should touch the feet of a person in whom God and offer homage to God and not the feet of the person and bow down to maya, illusion and human beings. you should depend on God and not on anyone else. Knowing God is inside everyone u automatically have atendency to fall at everyones feet, but that doesnt mean that you are touching the feet of flana flana "guy" or "person" or "human being". Your bowing to the God within them. ofcourse you should not touch the feet of some fake saint. Even Guru Nanak did Namaste to Guru Angad.
  3. singh kahlistan da ji, There are two types of concentration. One that comes from outside, unnatural and developed through certain methods. These concentration might be developed from yoga, intensive meditation, practice and things like that. There is another type of concentration, which comes from within and is very powerful. for example, when a child from a mother is stolen. Just imagein how the mother suffers in the seperation and how the mother is always thinking of child. in the sameway when fish from water is taken out.. just imagine how the fish is craving for water. always thinking of water. always wanting and worried to go back. I swear to God... if you get this type of concentration .. it wont be long when you find God ! and this type of concentration will come naturally. as for now read and do your paath with as much attention you can do. with as much as will you can do. pray to God to help you and pray to Him to give u concentration.
  4. Was God invented or discovered ? Dr Gurbakhsh Singh, USA ************************************************************ Science can never know God, such articles only mislead. A simple question I would like to answer to the author is "Were you discovered or invented?" answer me that.
  5. Dear Rupz, These thinsg can only be understood through meditation and not logic, if you try to understand through Logic then you will end up confused and full of contradiction. God can not be associated with any attribute, form, color, incarnation, name, roop, Guru, prophet or anything else. You can not pin-point to anything and say that it is God. Similarly you can not pinpoint to any Guru and say that it is God. You can not say that Guru Gobind Singh ji is God , because that would mean associating God and pin-pointing it. God is "not this and not that" at the sametime the True Guru is God Himself. There is no difference. Guru Gobind Singh ji also said that there is no difference between God and him. You are thinking of Guru and associating him with the body, roop and that is why you say in your post that he is mortal. In reality there is no difference between Guru and God. It is ONE AND SAME. In Sikhism there is One Thing ! One THing. No two things ! Anyways, these things are not understood by talkign and reading , these thigns are only understood by meditation and simran. You could provide quotes and I can provides quotes from SGGS, they might all sound contradictory. In reality all contradictions disaapear once a person meditates on God. The real fact is that none of us know what the True Guru is , what we are and what God is. The 10 Gurus came in the human frame and have gone, these human frames were not Gurus. The Guru is the Shabad, once we know that Shabad is nothing but the same as God, there is no difference.
  6. My freind in Sikhism there is no place for Two seperate things(Guru and God). Guru and God are both one thing. I know this is one topic that confuses many. but in order to understand this one must need to meditate and do simran. Guru is immortal and doesnt die. It is the same jot as God. The only diference is that Guru comes in the body form so that people can learn, but the soul of the Guru is the same as that of God, both are same and identical there is no difference. The job of the Guru is to show the Sikh the God that is within the person , to unite the sikh with the God. Thats all. In the Ultimate state of reality.. all that there is God. The Self, Guru, God are one and the same thing. He Himself is the True Guru; He Himself is the Lord. He Himself unites in His Union. --SGGS PAGE 41 The Guru is the Transcendent Lord, the Supreme Lord God. The Guru lifts up and saves those who are drowning. ||2|| -SGGS PAGE 49 The Guru and the Transcendent Lord are one and the same, pervading and permeating amongst all. -SGGS PAGE 53 Know that there is no difference between the Guru, the True Guru, and your Lord and Master. Meeting with Him, take pleasure in the Lord`s devotional service. -SGGS 77
  7. some of the purnanas mentioned dont even exist. the names are made up. this is just empty proponganda. The site from where you quoted this also contains some foolish articles like Guru Nanak was a hindu bla bla. it is just a hindu propoganda site.
  8. Lastly, if you meet a girl/boy and fall in love with him/her .. and you'll be supressing that feeling inside you .. LOL So although you got the feeling inside you , but you are forcing yourself to not act like that.. that is wrong ! I am not talking about kaam, so dont bring kaam in. I am only talking about falling in love. I know devotees(bhakts)... , dated there girl for 10-13 years and is now married ! What do you have to say for that now ??? LOL Most devotees will feel the need of a company, a person who will do simran with them and togther they can work on the spiritual path and reach God. Theres nothing wrong in dating as long as your intentions are not evil  If you date someone out of kaam then DONT Date.
  9. All the time you keep thinking of love as kaam and then start providing quotes from Gurbani how bad Kaam is. Everyone knows how bad kaam is. It DOES matter how much paat and simran you do. If you do REAL SIMRAN AND PATH WITH HEART .... then Kaam will start to go away slowly and slowly. It takes time but it does go away and by PATH AND SIMRAN you also get REAL GYAN over such things which is beyond human understanding and impossible without some REAL PATH AND SIMRAN. IF YOU REACH THE STAGE OF PURE LOVE TO GOD EVEN FOR ONCE, YOU WILL NOT EVEN FEEL KAAM EVEN IF YOU FORCEFULLY TRY TO BRING IT IN YOU ! I would only describe you as caught between dualism and you fail to recognise that Sikhism is beyond such discussions as they are futile. Its like in Anand Sahib , Guru Amar Das rights that sastar and simritee keep talking about good and evil but they are not able to know the essence of reality. Discussions like wether to eat meat or not, wether to date or not, wether to listen to bhangra or not , wether fish and eggs are vegetarian and not are equally futile and lack insight. People who do real path and simran know that the answer to these things dont lie in 'yes and no'. To understand the foolishness of these things one needs to do path and simran, discussing such things are simply a distraction. That is why Guru Ji never made any concrete statements or set up any notions, beliefs which ought to be followed suchas "DONT EAT MEAT. EAT MEAT.' bla bla bla !
  10. Which post? Discussions on wether to date or not to date is as futile as anything. One should be concerned with reading Gurbani and Simran and one will get the answer by themselves. However if by dating you mean premartial sex, kaam, lust and other low-level things that than that is bad. I am *in* for spiritual relationship.
  11. Jassa, It totally depends on how spiritually developed you are to understand Gurbani. Gurbani goes beyond such things as wether to date or not to date. This topic is absolutely futile to discuss wether to date or not to date , just as it is futile to discuss wether to eat meat or not eat meat or wether to follow non-violence or not follow violence. REAL TRUTH AND REAL SIKHISM GOES BEYOND SUCH EGOISTICAL DISCUSSION OVER WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG ! It all depends on the individual. I can date and still be right and another person can date and still commit a whole lot of bad karma.
  12. If you are still hankering after mukti you are not going to get it. It is about selfless prem and not about mukti.
  13. Read it with Love. Cultivate more Love and keep reciting Gurbani and contemplating on the verses in Gurbani. Dont worry to much about concentration and things like this. All these things will come naturally as Love for Waheguru increases. Just look at the love between mother and child, both are thinking of one another and this is because of Love, concentration is natural without effort in such a case. Your aim is Waheguru and not concentration, therefore I suggest keep doing what you are doing now and the rest of it will come by itself. The biggest obstacle in the spiritual path is that we try to make things happen for ourselves or we try to do something unnatural. All you need to do is to be just the way you are and just be yourself and read Gurbani and the rest will happen by itself.
  14. Yuo are are right N30 S!NGH, sadly these things happen and this is mainly because of the lack of determination or commitment to sikhi, lack of gurbani recitigin, simran and toooo much of talking makes jack a confused guy.
  15. Kaur, I dont goto clubs and pubs. The problem with most posters here is that they are of more of american backgrounds so they keep mixing lust with and having a girlfriend. Again, ifyou truly and truly love someone then there will be NO LUST !! and if there is lust then that means there is something is wrong ! Yes ofcourse GuruJi is the best guide to selecting a wife for us .. that is why we should surrender ourselves to the Guru ! The rest is upto each and every individual. Who is wrong and who is right.. only Raam knows ! No other human knows you better than you yourself.
  16. That is why Guru ji told us to marry so that we dont fall from moral grounds ! Your wife can also be a good sangat and so can your girlfriend if she is a devotee and has the same itnerests like you. I dont goto club and not all relationships have to do with dating.clubbing and sexing ! LOL Thats real bad. You shouldnt envy anyone ! Saints are born in the world and tommorrow they will die, why should one envy anyone? they repeat His Name and whatever duty they are to do in this world they do it and they die repeating his name. Sikhism is not about competition over who is better and who is not. A Sikhs concern should only be with God and Guru and other things like "envy" should be set aside. YOu are not here to show yourself off !
  17. Jassa, I agree wit the shabad and it is true that Kaam will make you evil and stuff. Now I want to ask what is wrong if one devotee wants to date and marry another girl who is also a devotee, what can be a better match than this? For me I will only date the girl whom I know I will marry and even if I do date.. I wont have premartial sex. Yes Kaam is bad and I agree.. but I just want to tell you that not all datings and love affairs have to do with sex and kaam, In the case of devotees it is just different. It is like a company or patner you both help one another in your quest of God. Lastly, I fully agree with the ideal for having sex for procreation, but we should not make this is as a general 'rule' in Sikhism, because Sikhism is against 'Kaam' and Sikhism is a path for everyone and all types of people and a person will naturally reach where he has to reach. Finally, our fight is against Kaam, Karodh, Lab, Moh, Ahankaar not the way we live. A true devotee is a person who lives in the world naturally and like everyone, he talks and acts like everyone , but inside his heart he is always thinking about God. There is no general universal rule that applies to everyone. In religions like Islam they say "Do this and that otherwise we will kill you." In Christainity they say that not all priests are to marry. It is because of these General Universal Rules that creates fights. Sikhism doesnt set such rules. Sikhism is a form of religion which can fit anyone and everyone, it is a flexible religion where a person can work at his own pace and speed to grow spiritually and eventuall overcome the 5 evils. We are sikhs so let us stay as sikhs(students) and let the Guru decided and judge, because the Guru is the teacher. We should do what feels best for us, but what may feel best for us may not feel best for another person, because they are at different spiritual levels.
  18. Although the ideal life style of a sikh should be to have sex only for procreation and this is the ideal I myself want to follow, but to say that smeone who doesnt live with this ideal is wrong is completely incorrect ! It all comes down to how much spiritually developed a person is and you cant draw iron pillar rules that say that if you dont do this and that you are wrong. The ideal of marrying only for procreation is a brahmanical ideal, so is the idea of brahmacharya and there is nothing wrong in it, its cool, but Guru Nanak never enforced such things on his disciples, since Sikhi is a natural path and slower the fruit ripes the better it tastes ! This is why the Gurus did not say any such things. They talked about Kaam which is evil but they didnt tell to marry only for procreation or become celibate or not to date. They talked about food but they didnt tell to stop eating this type of food and that type of food, because it all depends on the spiritual developement of the individual. You cant just pump it on anyone you like ! Lastly, I dont see anything wrong with dating, but a Sikh should nto have premaritial sex or anything like that. If by dating you mean sex and flirting then I am against it, but if by dating you mean just falling in love and having someone's company and planning to marry.. then that is okay and good !
  19. Not everyone is a F**K up, Dating doesnt mean having sex and making kids only. Sometimes relations go beyond that and they become spiitual connections.
  20. This is the way an Ideal Sikh should live and it is true that this type of lifestyle is True and Correct, but Sikhism is not Brahmanism where it will set rules and enforce all these things on its disciples. Everybody is working at their own pace and they will ripe at their own pace, therefore if a Sikh evey by mistake has sex out of kaam it can still be forgiven, because a Sikh is a disciple and a disciple can make mistakes. Regarding Love... For one devotee to date or marry anohter devotee and get married is very healthy , this is a very good relation as this will make good sadh-sangat with one another and both will help one another. A helping hand, a suport, someone to talk to is really nice. There is nothing wrong on this type of things. The rest of the people who simply come and say "You are not a sikh if you date. YOu are not allowed to have sex other than procreation and it is wrong ..bla bla bla." All of these people are fanatics and are actually preaching Brahmanimical ideals. Sikhi is a natural religion and the person progress naturally step by step, nothing should be forced on somone which cant be done and no one should be banned for dating some girl. It all depends on how much wise the person is and how much spiritually developed the person is. Only God knows this and the Sikh should be concerned only with himself and what is right for him.
  21. If Kaam is so much bothering you then why doyou support getting married. Getting married and having sex with your wife you think is free of Kaam. Treat all girls like your mothers and sisters and that is a good thing to do, but there is nothing wrong in falling in love with someone it is natural and Guru Nanak didnt enforce anything on anyone, since it is a natural path where a person develops natural. A friendship is good. Yes, I do disagree with premartial sex, but I dont disagree with falling in love. Guru ji did not say anything against this. In Sikhism you will not see any such strong statements, becoz truth can not be defined by rules and codes of conduct such as 'dont do this . dont eat this. dont have gfs. its wrong. its evil". Regarding Kaam.. that comes out of impure love and bad feelings.. Kaam is lust. .. falling in love is not. That is your own drawn up interpretaton that one should not have gfs. tell me where Guru Ji wrote that one can not date??? tell me. show me.
  22. Please friends, dont make Sikhi another fanatic religion with pillar like rules and codes of conduct. It is a natural religion. The feeling of falling in love with someone is natural, as long as you are honest with yourself it is okay to have a girlfriend. Some people just misinterpret Gurbani in accordance with there fanatic minds ! The next thing I dont want to see is someone take a sword and kill his son/daughter for falling in love with someone. Everybody is at there own level of existence and learning.. let them develop and ripe at their own pace. who areyou to decide of what is 'wrong' and 'right'. people keep distinguishing between this for the whole of their life.
  23. for a devotee he can marry a devotee girl. this is a wonderful connection. a company and a saah to go back to God. sat sangha. The Guru will give you the right girl.
  24. are you suppose to wear a kirpan 24 hours all the time. i havent taken amrit os plz explain.
  25. Yes that is true. Its true. but not always and not on everyone.
