  1. very sad both cases. infact could not even get myself to watch entire videos. This is medieval, unstructured , tribal to say the least to throw up such drama in a place of worship - where sangat gather. Why these folks are being "banned" should be dealt with via a guiding structure. I find too any Granthis " who do roll" want a visa from india so come over to UK, europe and canada. They are not even qualified on simple veechar like "Ardaas " to explain to 1st and 2nd generation sikhs - Arzoo (arabic word) and Das (servant). We really need homegrown patchraiks - born and bred and then learnt from various taksals in India. Since seeing this is more heartbreaking then revoltionary, it makes Sikhs look dis-organised and tribal - which is far from what they are. Bhul Chuk Maaf Mere Waheguru
  2. Veerji - thanks for all these links. I will dive into at some point. More so Im still re-reading Guru Arjun Dev ji's shabad on Page 1082-1083. Maru Mehla 5 Which has a lot of context to it. I will bookmark the links and add to reading. Shukariya.
  3. veer ji - good to hear this being shared. 1.5 years ago when I started simran early hours in sangat at guru ghar - a couple of months later my right ring finger grew a weird lump of cells that where protruding outwards. Doctors had no idea what it was after multiple tests. In the end I had to have a minor operation to remove this, at request I asked the surgeon to see the removal - it was like a massive root embedded in finger. They had kept it for further tests to analyze what it was. funny thing, my right hand is mostly unaffected.
  4. WJKK WJKF thank you for link. I will take a look in a while after re-reading Guru Arjun Dev Shabads above. Agree, Akaal Purkh, has given us Gyaan or Gunh and in some cases virala koi, have kirpa of both. Yes experience counts for multitudes it cannot be quantified. WJKK WJKF
  5. wow veerji ! thank you. Krishan jee, ram chandra, narishma, lakshmi, Drupoti and many more avatars mentioned in these beautiful shabads. I want to re-read and digest - beforehand thank you ! WJKK WJKF
  6. facsniatng ! to see the collective decline over the four era's. I love the analogy to Asa Di Var - this is the one I have read. The other two yet are to read. Vedic teachings probably have an in-depth explanation too. Though to be honest, learning larivaar & sanskrit is taking a lot of my time. To learn Veda & Arabic fluently is a dream for me. Thank you for sharing. Who is the author of this publication and year ?
  7. From greogrian calendars, islamic calendars, veda calendars, economic calendars, sikh calendars - No Body has been able to define Time. Hence the level of confusion in every single religious calendars because Humans Cannot define time. Dear guest xyz whats your understanding of time ?
  8. Bhenji, Very true. On Moorkah Naal Na Ujehyla - as Asa Di Var tells us. We all have individual experiences that collectively define the universal being. These experiences and veechar should always be shared in a non-egotistical way. From Sadh Sangat, to Sat Sangat. Those who are in Sat Sangat find it very easy to share with Sadh Sangat - as they have already passed this phase to reach Sat Sangat. Curiously, what is the differene between the different yugs, SatJug, Dhoparpa, Teeth, Kaljug ? Are these different time periods through iron age, bronze age etc ? Im sure I have heard this in the long version of rehraas or asa di vaar. Bhu Chuk Maaf
  9. Wow - this sounds like whabbism Islam versus Sikhi. Sikhi is about equality. Why do we keep seeing again and again youth trying to mimick abhramic especially Islamic cultures, idols into Sikhi ? This I find very very distressing - Sikhi is way beyound Islamic ideas. Stop Diluting Sikhi
  10. WJKK WJKF - Happy Dusshera (Duss = 10, Hera = victory/fight, origins Sanskrit) !!!!!! As I grew up in chandigarh, India for a part of my childhood, the colours, burning of raavan, play stage shows in square and thick scent of fireworks in air are a memory of dusshera. As veer ji states above its the letting go and controlling of the 10 vices over this period - which should really be done everyday. Ram Jee, Durga Ma, Shiv jee, Brahma, Vishunu, Krishan Jee, Raavan (who did a lot of bhakti but was bad) I understand to be avatars pointing to one infinite being. Are there any links that can be shared how these avatars are releated to Sikhi - some I see in SGGS jee (as reading) most of the others are these in Dasma and Sarlobh Granth or is that my mind guessing ? As currently, I celebrate with memories of india and knowing of the 10 vices - however I have never been able to map these to Sikhi stories or Granths (possibly because I have not read all the saikhs and 3 granths, and rehitnamas) Bhul Chuk Maaf WJKK WJKF - Happy Dusshera (Duss = 10, Hera = victory/fight, origins Sanskrit) !!!!!! 11. My devi, pir and reality form closest to unconditional love is my mother. Seeing my mothers eyes radiating with happiness are everyday miracles for me. As first form of PrathaMA is MA. When doing 3 prakahams around Guru Sahib, often before my eyes I feel presence of folks who have come across my path whom, my tiny mind has noticed (as we only use something like 2% of our actual brain capacity. Rest is unexplored). Folks like my mum, certain katha vachaks, certain yogis etc. Life itself everyday is a Miracle - Saas Saas with each prana, simro pir ka naam.
  12. precisely, identity borders and is s form of ego. Yet one of the main principle of Sikhi - is to let surrender to the ego. Paradox. Please correct here if otherwise. I do deeply love this "Mera muj me kuch neyhi, jo kush ha so tera, teri tujh ko soumph ke kaya laga mera "
  13. Thank you jee! Sharing Sikhi to Max I often go to that site- before continuinng on Rehat Nama - (as Im still ast stage of SGGS ji and larivaar)... The meaning of Rehat and Naama ? Rehat is Character ? and Naama (Naam). Hence a RehatNama is the similar to a islamic haddith or sunnah ? Surely, Rehat focuses on character. Especially when I hear Guru gobind singh jees words "Rehat Pyari, Sikh Neyhi Pyara" - resonates in terms of character more than appearance (as inward is far more difficult than outward)....."Jeeahu maile baarahu niramal, baahrahu nirmal jeehau ta maile tinee janam jooaai haaria".... Same way Guru Gobind Singh Jee wanted to distinguish Sikhs as a Vaakri Comm, hence the identity. Yet as women covering head borders very closely with islam (whabbi sect)... where the haadiths outline for covering women not quran. Just like in SGGS ji no mention of head covering or is there ? Please correct me here... Yet nuns who are out of gristi are different since they are truly de-attached. Hence you see why I try to keep my mind shut and feel more - as the feeling will lead , "man neeva maath oochi, e man chanchalaa chatuaree ee kinaa na paaeia" Bhul Chuk Maaf Karna
  14. Veer ji - thank you. Kesh is before covering of head. Was covering of head to protect the head or dasma darbar and for cleanliness of hair ? Reason I ask, is I actually love covering my head with a chunni/scarf when I meditate simran, yoga or jap. I love going inward and hiding from the world - a bit like a hermit. My family often worry about me day dreaming (always have since I was a child) - having a covering I know I would go inwardly completely and de-attach from the world. Yet, please correct me if Im wrong here, Gurbani teaches us to Live in this world, attached yet detached (paradox) ? Bhul Chuk maaf karna
  15. Ah ! Thank you . I never knew this. The hukamnaama that dhan dhan guru gobind singh jee sent was this from SGGS ji, Dasma granth, Sarlobh granth ?(please note Im still on SGGS ji and larivaar is yet to complete).
  16. Hanji - exactly Kesh. Keeping the Kesh which Sikhs, Native Indians, Native Aborginals and many more tribes around the world who are spirituality connected believe the hair is an extension of the nervous system. Hence the sensitvity and radar like connection with hair. Covering heads for Sikhs and many non sikh religions also exists - is this covering of the head any correlation with Dasama Darbar (Crown Chakra) being covered ? As sometimes, I cover my head wearing a scarf loosely around my neck other times I do not. Hence Im trying to go with the flow of a feeling then a strict set of intellectual rules of guidelines - as guidelines and rules are easy to interpret intellectually and become more of doctrine like Islamic Wahbbism. Leaving the essence of core experience far de-attached. Sikhi is more a way of life then a religion indoctrinated .....Im trying to feel and understand, please do not be offended. Bhul Chuk Maaf Karna
  17. "gaavan tudhano mohaneea man mohan surag machh paeiaale" ...waheguru I missed doing rehraas sahib as was buzy at work for last 3 days.
  18. WJKK WJKF Please can guru da roop sadh sangat help me with what the 5 kakkars for a female are and where this originated from (as 1699 vaishaki 5 pyare where men) 5 known kakaars kesh kanga kara keeshra kirpan I dont see any where keski, or keeping head covered - ie for women with a chunni or scarf.
