Plus crying about washing thalis.......like there aren't plenty of sangat who consider washing such things as good sewa.....
Keep your spirits up brother. I've had some bad experiences at langars as well. Brush it off.
Thanks veer ji. You are 100% correct it is shocking. Especially as i told other people and they said it was disgusting what happened. Especially as i was deliberately targeted at the time.
A good thing that since stop going to that gurdwara a lot of my negative thoughts towards meeting people has calmed down now lol. I am very happy that chapter of my life is done and dusted now and i am free now.
I have also noticed how my life feels a lot better than it did prior july 2018 compared to nowdays.

I stopped going to my old local for some similar reasons too. It had always been open most of the time. The 'office' had always been open too, but then one of our younger lot (well not that young) actually got in power and the office I'd been sitting in since a child, taking Panjabi lessons in, was suddenly locked (I think the old and new committees had legal issues going on?)
They had formal opening hours all of a sudden as well...
Changed the whole atmosphere.
Veer ji it's a day that I will never forget since when I have stopped going to that gurdwara. It's a bit long the writing is going to be but I am gonna write it how I remember it.
Basically it was around July a few years ago. Baba Bhupinder Singh Ji Rara Sahib Jarg had come to Neville Road Gurdwara. I too went my parents. So this is where it all goes wrong. I am having langar in the hall as I left the darbar hall before the bhog.
I got my langar plate and ate it. I had left the thal in the washing area. Went to get another roti and some daal as I felt a bit hungry at the time. When i picked up the plate thal the guy serving roti started having a go at me and raised his voice saying "who is gonna wash the thal ?" I answered back saying it "was my choice". The guy kept going on and on but I got the roti from him and tried to ignore him.
Just after that the 2nd guy serving daal said to me "Round 2 ?" As he gave me the previous daal before. I went silent and was shocked and lost for words hearing and seeing all of this.
I then sat down with my plate and waited for my parents to come downstairs to the langar hall.
Then when my mum came I told her what happened she said to me to come to this gurdwara again. I said I am outside for fresh air. Then I saw another person whom I don't have a good a relationship with. Then I started to feel on edge and panic so I saw the bus coming, caught right on time then went home.
A few minutes later my mum rang me and asked where I was and told her I am in the bus going home and reached it.
So my mum made a complaint against this to whomever was in the management committee.
Although no action had been taken against these people who tormented me there.
It's been 3 and a half years since this incident. Everytime I go past the gurdwara by bus I get reminded of the events that took place with me. Plus try to convince myself that is a gurdwara with maharaja's stoop but the hate of these people gets to me a lot as I get flashbacks.
There are a lot more incidents but this one was the worst that I just wrote out.

Veer ji it was Ramgarhia Gurdwara Neville Road.
Since this incident I have been going to either Barking Gurdwara or Roseberry. I rarely go to seven kings gurdwara as it's a bit far for my home area.
So many people have stopped going there now especially since the current management only open the gurdwara at certain hours. Plus the behaviour of the Langar servers is extremely bad.

I think some Gurdware still have too much old-fashioned thinking and Committees are full of retired-age first generation who are not 'street-wise', nor do they want to allow the Youth to have much influence in the management and running
I do agree with you veer ji that the mindset of the old generation folks has left a negative impression on the youth and youngsters of today's age which is why you don't see that many young people at the gurdwara.
Dass has himself changed the gurdwara which I used to once attend many years ago due to a certain number of people that I have had some really negative experiences which was disgusting behaviour.

@Arsh1469veer ji its really good you have taken this step and dedication towards Gurbani, you have a lot of kirpa.
Dass would recommend you to first build up step by step every day as jumping to 40 Jap Ji Sahib paath is a lot to do in one day. From experience its best to 5 paaths a week then 10 week afterwards.
Please don't take in a wrong way as dass knows from experience that headache/migraine can develop if you jump to a large number of paaths for a beginner is a lot.

Veer ji at both of the gurdwaras some people wear face masks and some don't. Barking Gurdwara recently had a high profile kirtan samgam twice. Most of the sangat wasn't wearing masks at the time of the devan. To be honest i don't think they are giving much attention nowdays to covid rules like face covering.
Plus they were serving langar as well which made me feel things are like back to normal at the time.

I hope so too bhai ji. One day. Have you been Gurdwara recently? I've only managed to go to someone's house who has maharaj's parkash a few times since covid.
Me to veer ji it would be great to meet up one day.
Thats really good you have got a friend who has Guru Sahib Ji's Saroop at home very luckly he is.
I have been to gurdwara recently yes as the new building work is done for Barking Singh Sabha Gurdwara which is really nice to vist. Also i did go to Dasmesh Darbar Gurdwara in Manor Park.
I follow the online social feeds from the gurdwara facebook and instagram pages.
