If we read and understand we will get to know their is rule working you may call it principle.

Just like Prof Sahib Singh found out their is a Grammar working throughout .

To understand Rule/Principle  lets see two different meaning of word Jup  in Gurbani

    Accepted form

    Jup : Imbibe/Understand (Vicharna)

O mortal, thou shall die today or tomorrow.imbibe the philosophy of Guru  in your  heart.

    Rejected form

Jap ṯap kar kar sanjam thākī haṯẖ nigrahi nahī pā▫ī▫ai.
Practicing intensive meditation, chanting and self-discipline, people have grown weary; stubbornly practicing these rituals, they still have not found Him.

Understanding/Meaning  of the word Jup is coming  from SGGS itself and  the Rule(Accepted/Rejected)  for the word Jup will be consistent throughout SGGS.

They added more depth and layers to many words but they didn change the meaning of words such that red suddenly meant blue and tree suddenly meant sun

ONE Fundamental Rule of SGGS is that meaning of words should be found from SGGS and they should be consistent throughout and words with different meaning should be understood contextually .

Redefining doesn't means Red becomes blue or tree means sun. Redefining means understanding words in context of the shabad the (Bhav) and not just literal meanings .

    Like For Eg

    Maaning as per Gurbani

    NAAM ->  Godly virtues .

    TAAP: Spiritual deeds

    Amrit : Gurbani

I think it is a western influence. Missionaries that are influenced by western science, "logic", etc. always promote single scripture, one rehit maryada, and stuff. They don't understand the importance of sampardas, etc.

Sikhi which we see today is not what our Gurus taught .Its distorted ,corrupted and Missionary and other Scholars are trying to clean up the mess.

Yes they are  Samparadas  worst nightmare. They are going to make Sampardas non existent.

Saparadas have different ideology which is vedantic influenced .They interpret the meaning of gurbani using Vedantic  dictionary .Infact when we compare the Samparads interpretation and Hindu practices  their is so much similarities .Many of Hindu scholar in India call it fifth Ved .Thats  the reason we can see so many rituals in our Gurudwaras.

Does anyone know the procedure for making Kesar Tilak? I did try once but I didn't manage to grind it down fine enough I think...I also don't know what to mix it with...water or oil?

It's not something I want to experiment with as Kesar is bloody expensive lol so the exact viddhi would be greatly appreciated.

How much would I need to make a small amount? Should I try to dry it before grinding? What is the best way to grind it...pestle and mortar? Bearing in mind you would want to minimise loss. What else if anything do you mix into it...chandan etc? What is the best way to store it?

@jaikaara beere you're from India right...would you happen to know?

    @paapiman do you know bro?

    Thanks.

Why don't you visit a ISKON ,AOL centre nearby they will guide perfectly.

I am not missinarory  firstly. But I do listen to them to understand tat gurmat because you taksali have nothing to teach you have your own version of Sikhi.

Your sikhi is based on mythical sakhis and empty ritual.

You spirituality is just to worship and glorify your mahapurakh.

Your foolish pracharaks says Guru Gobind Singh is a sibling of luv Kush.

You are just extension of hindu in our sikh religion.

All Dhandriwala and missionary are doing is cleaning this mess.

You really want to make it sikhi and taksali let's do it I am really gonna exposed your fake  ideology.

Thank you veer ji just because the human eye can't see anything its only karani wale mahapurshs that can see shaheed singhs, jinns, bhoots prets.

You sound like more of a pujari  and brahmin rather khalsa .

And don't call Gappi Thakur  a mahapurush  He is just a shrewd Salesman and nothing else.

True warriors are born on the battlefield!

To WIN, battles  tactics  defines the victory and loosing

Read abt Guru Gobind Singh and his forty sikhs along with two sons fought with  unprecendented valour and  courage.

Wars are not fought and won  by chanting Braham Kavach  (envoking gupt shaktis).

ts all these science missionarys that have made gurmat gurbani to their own views thoughts rather than saying sat bachan as purtan gursikhs would do.

No, you deviant. What I'm saying is that by saying there are 18ft shaheeds or whatever Thakur Singh has not gone against the essence of Gurmat, but by saying that kudrat is rabb, or that there is no reincarnation is absolutely against gurmat principle.

You Still did not clarified how speaking nonsense is part of Gurmat.

Watch it 12 times and you might understand.

    Watch What ?

You are really suffering from Dhandraiphobia . You are spiritual dead soul who belive speaking  nonsense is part of Gurmat  .Just wasting your life chanting  Braham Kavach.

    Are you mentally alright. 😨

you mean to say  speaking nonsense is a principle of Gurmat.what kind of justification is this.

No, he didn't say "Kudrat vich vasiya Rabb " which every knowlegabel Sikh agrees with. He said that the kudrat itself is Rabb.

You are wrong he never said.i have watched the original video abt his view on this.

  9. 15 hours ago, chatanga1 said:

like ghaghri wala who say that rab is kudrat when Gurbani clearly says it isn't.

This discussion  is not abt Dhandriwala but abt Thakur singh.express your  frustrations in relavant topic .

Just to clarify your doubt he never said "Kudrat he Rabb hai".what he said is "Kudrat vich vasiya Rabb ".their is difference between two.check your facts.

  10. Nowdays this Gappi Thakur is busy marketing his new product to the sangat by the name "Braham Kavach".No where in history we find mentioned of sikhs using  Braham Kavach in battlefield nor when Darbar sahib was attacked in 1984   not even in Dasam Granth .In fact Guru Gobind singh in DG rejects this kind of fake kavach .

Without coming under His Refuge, there is no other measure for protection, may be a god, demon, pauper or a king.

May be the Sovereign and may be the courtiers, without coming under His shelter, millions of measures for protection will be useless. 76.

All the creatures created by Him in the world will ultimately be killed by the mighty KAL.

There is no other protection without coming under His shelter, even though many Yantras be written and millions of Mantras be recited.77.

Clearly it shows this Conman Thakur  is  trying to impose Brahamanvad into sikh  psyche. We should be aware of it.

if you want to beleive that Guru Nanak spent 3 days hiding in the Bein Rivere contemplating his next course of action

This little goat is lying .their is no such  kind of information in dr drilgeer  book.

    Have you read his book?

Infact he has given referencing in his footnote from different Janam Sakis abt this incident.

Check your  facts first before dragging your ass around.

Are you for real ? It is the main catalyst event in the life of Guru Nanak. The event that elevated Maharaj from a pure devotee to a world guru. The importance was such that it was immortalised by all Janam Sakhi writers - whether punjabi or braj - and can even be found indirectly in the Persian writings of Bhai Nand Lal.

No one is denying the divine gift of Japji Guruji gave to the world from that place.

So the important event occured is the gift of Bani to world.Whether Nanak was inside the river for 3days or 7days or whether he was sitting aside the river bed becomes inconsequential

My reply was in context to a stupid comment made by @chatanga1

Well if you feel there is nothing to learn from history why are you recommending books for the OP to read?

Not at all realted to my reply.

Did I mean that?it was u who pointed out this incident and u should be explaining how does it matters to anyone whether Guruji  was inside the river for three days or sitting beside the river?what matters is the gift which Guruji gave to the mankind that unfortunately you don't seems to be interested.

Your problem withDr Dilgeer as an historian is  he does not comes from corrupted school of thoughts of yours.

Anybody who has faith in Guru Sahib's would never waste their time or money on dilgeers books.

What  does it matter whether Guru Nanak spent 3 days   merged inside  the  the river or  rested across the other side planning his next udasi  etc . What is their for you to learn?

Giani Gurbachan Singh, the Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, announced his resignation from his post late in the evening. He forwarded his resignation today to the head of the Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee and also send one email to the media. In the letter, the Jathedar expressed his inability to serve citing poor health and old age.

Singh had created a controversy by pardoning Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in a blasphemy case after which he faced a massive backlash from within the community. The Dera chief was pardoned in September 2015.

In a statement written in Punjabi and issued through his personal assistant Satinderpal Singh, the Jathedar urged the SGPC president and executive to find a better replacement and asked permission to step down.

Many Sikh bodies were reportedly unhappy with Giani Gurbachan Singh and were seeking his removal. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) which controls the SGPC had also demanded that the Jathedar be replaced.

According to local media reports, the SAD high command has already started looking for a suitable candidate to replace the Jathedar but the search is taking time as many potential Jathedars with strong panthic credentials are not willing to take up the post as they believe that the Badals influence the functioning of the Akal Takht, one of five takhts (seats of power) of the Sikhs.

However, many sections are seeing his resignation as an open rebellion against the Badals who have a say in the functioning of the Akal Takht. The Badal family was also criticised for his alleged role in granting pardon to the controversial Dera chief.

  16. @Jageera  "Anyways I cant read punjabi yet so it is out of the question.Any alternative suggestion you can make on books in english?"

Take it as a  blessing from Akal purakh not knowing punjabi otherwise you would have been  wasting time studying Fairy tails and Mythological Sikhi  .Dr Dilgeer is renowned Historian from Punjab University   he is  neither a missionary nor a taksali or associated with any Dera .

Why I propose Dr Dilgeer works over Traditional Samaradyee Books can be understood by a sufi parable

Someone saw Nasrudin searching for something on the ground.
What have you lost, Mulla?  he asked. “My key,” said the Mulla. So
they both went down on their knees and looked for it. After a time
the other man asked: “Where exactly did you drop it?” “In my own
house.” “Then why are you looking here?” “There is more light here
    than inside my own house.”

This Sufi story could remain as a useful example for anybody looking  to the history of the Sikh Gurus . It suggests that we may look for our own keys, our own understandings, outside our own houses, our own cultures, beyond the light of the familiar sources.  There  has been shortage of what photographers call available light to help us discover what we are looking for, but in recent years historians like Dr. Dilgeer  have produced good translations and intelligent interpretations of  Sikh History  and pointers to both texts and material evidence that others(like traditional Sampradyess) had not noticed before.

So its just we have to  come out from the  old sources and  venture into new sources  to understand Sikhi in 21st century.

    Its your  choice.
