  1. Thanks tSingh ji. Such questions will continue to be asked by nayana bacha like me, and my request is to calmly point to suitable resources without using any 'alas'. Thanks a lot for the pointers tSingh ji. Regards.
  2. Thanks Pheena ji. When Guru Gobind Singh ji gave the direction to singhs, I wonder what shud be motivation of having lineage of saints (in this case Bhai Daya Singh ji and the complete list of Guru Bhagats), after Guru ji. And then coming up with up-sampardaya too! I dont know why I feel the sampardaya/sect things as going off-way from the actual teachings of Guru ji. With respect to all. Regards.
  3. Sangat, Please clarify difference between sect and sampardaya. Regards.
  4. The best of things I find in Bihangams is their humility, and eagerness to help, and really impressive daily schedule. The philosophy of being brahmchari for an entry criteria to sachkhand sahib during regular days is somewhat not ok. Also, I was reading a book on these sants, and mostly they contain the chamatkaars instead of actual biography sort of things. Well then I know little abt great people, and Perhaps, I dont have much information about sikhism itself. Sangat really helps in understanding. Regards.
  5. Dear veer ji, No, It doesnt kill anything. You may like to assure yourself by asking females married to sikhs (with pugg and beard) in own family or surroundings. I dont know what LTR means though. And your personal experiences seem to be long way to go. But good thing, is you have got questions, and are looking for answers. Your comments about burka and pugg are not open minded ones. Please come out of this. I suggest u reading article by Ryan on rationalthinking. Best Regards.
  6. Here is a question: Is there any difference between Gurmat Sangeet and Keertan? If yes, what it is? Thanks.
  7. An actual amrtidhari singh is the humblest of all, to practise equality. Please dont let ur own a few experiences belittle 'The Singhs'. Best Regards.
  8. When a kid starts going to school, he has to believe what teacher says. Full faith so that after lot of years, the actual understaning and own use of mind can take place. We ar the kids, who keep on questioning, why 'A' comes first, and not 'B'. Just do the counting a few times, sooner u will realize why u were doing counting, as we need to continue upgrading of our learning, and then move onto next path. From ABC to make some sensible words, then sentences etc etc. I go for learning like a child, with no inhibitions, and also use to get answers to my own questions in that learning. Thats all I can say for now about this. Regards.
  9. Zafar (Victory) Namah (Letter) stands for Letter of Victory. Guru Gobind Singh ji wrote it for Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1705. Still more important question I feel is to understand its relevance - Why was it written? Details of which you might like to read at http://www.zafarnama.com/ Regards.
  10. Dear Veer ji, This understanding seems to be coming out due to incomplete understanding of two concepts of Brahmin and Sikh, alongwith following reasons: 1. Looking at bad examples of people whose baana and action are not in synch 2. incomplete understanding of significance of things or concepts, hence terming those as rituals. Amritdhari Sikh is a saint soldier, who knows - sab kuch tera, tera, tera... But somehow I feel, ur inner quest is going to take you to an actual Singh, in the presence of whom all your doubts would wash away in a moment. Ardaas karo ji - Saadh Sangat Bakhsho ji. Best Regards.
  11. Just curious, if anyone got update about the raised cause!
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome Mugermach Singh ji and sukhi_v ji Warmest Quack Quack :-)
  13. Sikh: One who listens Guru's teachings always.
  14. Veero, I have lived and worked at various places around the world, with sikhs and non-sikhs, and never found any problem. Actually, there used to be invitations for different ocassions, just as a way of being together. Considering me not very smart person, but looks like they liked the pugg and values I lived for and carried with me. Somehow, I feel, we need to wear a smile alongwith pugg with no pride, but just caring for others, and thats what makes a lot of difference. Bhull Chuk Maaf ji
  15. Thanks Veer ji, Now, u know, from where I used to pick up my avatars for various other sites. But see, my profile also mentions the site, so credit always goes to right place/person. Regards.
