  1. I think sikhs are quite money minded community.Everywhere we see them becoming Rich and with richness its obvious a community become soft Police always have soft corner for their community. The only exception is Punjab police who do not hesistate to fire at their own sikh brothers. And who is responsible for that? After 1984 sikhs had soft corner for muslims but in UK Muslims have shown their true colors. May be history repeating itself 1857 sikhs joined Britishers against revolt predominantly a muslim one. and that was just after 9 years they lost to britishers everything
  2. http://www.zeenews.com/news588304.html Zeenews Bureau Islamabad: In a breaking news development, the Pakistan Army has reportedly grabbed the land here meant for the construction of Sikh Gurudwaras. The minority community here is distraught as the Army sold off 150 acres of land that belongs to the Sikhs of Lahore, as per a latest media report. Reports also state that the land, which was allegedly sold cheaply to Pak defence authorities, is actually worth millions of rupees. The Sikh community is planning to retaliate by appealing in a court of law to step in and prevent the ‘illegal’ land grab. However, the chairman of Pakistan’s Evacuee Trust, Asif Hashmi, while confirming the sale, decried reports stating that the land belongs to any individual or the Gurudwara Deh in Lahore. The sale violates Pakistan’s law on selling religious land. Meanwhile, the SGPC in India is said to have contacted President Asif Ali Zardari asking for his direct intervention in the case.
  3. A very good post as usual Muslims at present have the biggest weapon and that is womb bomb.On the other hand white's as commmunity has the lowest Birth rate.so in Future old whites will become more and more dependent on Muslims For taking care of their oldies As a sikh I have nothing to fear from muslims now.The reason is If I leave UK conflicts sikhs are not at all in any type of conflict with muslims anywhere.Sikhs hardly have anything to loose. The loser will be in Future are Hindu's,Whites and may be Jews.
  4. No one is saying that there are no secular muslims. There are very good muslims .But when we discuss these type of statement we have to look at broader community level not at indivisual level. The question here is whether as a community they can mix with others,I think the answer is no. In India muslims are very poor still there demand is not good schools. They prefer that shariat courts should be allowed.
  5. I think it is purely publicity stunt. In the news it is written that many women are infected with HIV then how could anyone marry them?
  6. When secularism is not possible when they are in majority then it is not possible at all.How could one community shout about minority rights when they are in minority but when they reach majority, they say that they don't beleive in secularism. Also as I said above birth rate of muslims is quite high so other religions will always feel threatened with them and their communal feelings will arise
  7. 7-Foot Is Nice, Especially Twice http://www.slamonline.com/online/college-hs/high-school/2009/11/7-foot-is-nice-especially-twice/ Brothers take their show to a tiny Pennsylvania prep school. by Stephen Brodzinski The old saying, ‘Big fish in a small pond,’ couldn’t be more true in this case. Imagine a small, all-boys boarding school in the beautiful mountains of Saltsburg, PA, with an enrollment of about 210 students. The Kiski School is known for being one of the top academic schools in the country, with rich traditions and successful alumni. The athletic programs have been competitive, but the basketball program has never achieved great success. This past summer, former Division I coach Daryn Freedman took over as head basketball coach, and within weeks, things changed. Meet Coach Freedman’s new front court, a pair of 7-foot brothers from Toronto, Canada. Sim and Tanveer Bhullar are the first tandem of 7-foot brothers to play together, since Brook and Robin Lopez shined at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. Sim is a sophomore listed at 7-4, while his freshman brother Tanveer is listed at 7-2. Yes, we said freshmen and sophomore! Both brothers are already highly ranked, with Tanveer being ranked among the top players in the Class of 2013 by some reports. For their enormous size at young ages, they both already possess an uncanny skill level and understanding of how to play the game. Head coach Daryn Freedman thinks the brothers are a special duo: “Their combination of height, strength, great hands and understanding of the game makes their upside unlimited.” To put this phenomenon into perspective, on the all-time list of millions of high school and college basketball players, you may find a short page of former or current 7-0 athletes. Even in the NBA right now, you may be able to count the number of actual 7-footers on two hands. Every so often you will hear about a high school basketball player reaching the 7-0 horizon, but almost never as a freshman or sophomore. And while the pool of 6-8 guys seems to have deepened over the years, the sprinkling of true big men has seemed to be running dry. Coach Freedman talks about the luxury of not only having one 7-footer, but having two on the same team, “In my nine years as a Division 1 assistant, I never saw a freshman or sophomore in high school that big, with that ability. Now I have both Sim and Tanveer that I can coach and help develop.” Sim and Tanveer will definitely be developed, being pushed by Kiski Prep’s new staff of former college and pro coaches. While they definitely need to get stronger, lose some weight, and gain some bounce, it is sometimes difficult to remember that they are so young. And having each other to play against on a daily basis, could be one of the greatest advantages for the young duo. While most vertically gifted high school athletes will have to practice against much smaller teammates, Sim and Tanveer will be able to play against another 7-footer every day. Growing up in Toronto, Sim says the he and his brother were close from a young age: “It is nice to have someone to always talk to and relate to, and we always challenge each other to go harder.” The value in them challenging each other to go harder is seen in every practice. Watching Sim try to dunk on Tanveer, or seeing Tanveer hit a jump hook over Sim, is just flat out fun to watch. Tanveer also understands the importance of having his brother to play against: “Playing with and against Sim helps me develop as a basketball player. I get to practice my offensive skills on a defender who can challenge me and I also get to practice my defense on him.” As they continue to improve, the brothers will be all over the national recruiting radar. They already garner tons of attention no matter where they go. At tournaments, parents pull out cell phones to take videos of the enormous pair, and people constantly ask for pictures. So it seems almost natural that Sim and Tanveer are tucked away in the hills of western Pennsylvania. Wanting to attend school in the United States, they chose the Kiski School for its great academic history, nurturing environment, and the belief that Coach Freedman and staff could maximize their potential. Though they stick out like a sore thumb walking through the scenic campus, they both feel at home in their new environment, and have already shown early success both on the court and in the classroom. Hoping to continue this success, both Sim and Tanveer have big aspirations to match their big frames. They hope to play at high major DI schools and someday make it to the NBA. Coach Freedman, who served on the staff of both the New Jersey Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, sees this as a real possibility, “Both Sim and Tanveer have shown the ability to dominate when they are at their best. With a lack of quality centers in Division 1 and the NBA these days, as the two continue to improve, there will be a lot of people watching them on a daily basis.” And many are already watching. The Kiski School has frequent visits from Division I coaches, checking out the potential. Besides Sim and Tanveer, there are roughly five Division I prospects on the roster right now, including 6-9 forward Stefan Jankovic who may be one of the top 10 players in the Class of 2012. For Sim and Tanveer, they will surely have many options down the road. For now, they are focusing on their first test of the season on November 21, against the highly respected Maine Central Institute (MCI) in a prep school tournament at Albertus Magnus College in Connecticut. While they are both still works in progress, the duo will soon be one of the most dominant frontcourts in the entire country. And don’t expect to see anything like them for a long time.
  8. LOL It is just a publicity stunt. They are already planning to open 30-40 outlets so how could they will not allow Indians --------------------------------------------------- http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/No-Indians-allowed-Haagan-Dazs-says-wrong-choice-of-words/articleshow/5346805.cms “No one was turned away because of nationality,” insisted Arindam Haldar, director, Haagen-Dazs. “I was present on all days. If people were refused entry momentarily, it was only due to overcrowding as there was a rush.” Obviously, Haagen-Dazs is here to tap the Indian market, not keep it out, but the words of the teaser campaign left the company vulnerable to the charge of apartheid. And it was compounded by the very poor choice of words by TBWA, the agency that did the teaser campaign. Upon sustained queries to company officials about the intention of the campaign, it emerged that what Haagen-Dazs really wanted to convey was ‘Now get a taste of abroad right here in India’. But by preferring several long words — that are liable to be misinterpreted — instead of short, clear ones, they ended up generating a lot of heat: something that ice-cream brands, in particular, should steer clear of, if they don’t want their market to melt away, thanks to offended sensibilities. Especially, since it plans to open 30 to 40 outlets in the next few years. ----------------------------------------------------- They already got what they wanted Now Hundreds of Indians will visit this place just to show that they access it.A very good publicity stunt but a cheap one
  9. Also In Multicultural society ,if communities want to maintain healthy relationship then It is a must that all communities main similar birth rate.Again on this point muslim don't agree. There Birth rate is always quite compare to other religions. So anyone can see that political balance start shifting towards them which other communities never like
  10. They have more faith in sharia and traditional values We have more faith in western liberal seculer values. Traditional values were made so a Religion ,or culture could survive through generations .In Liberal values a religion or culture could be wiped out in 2-3 generations.Parsis are biggest example of this.Population at start of century 1.2 lac now only 70,000 while the population of other religions grew 4 times their actually declined. The reason is simple assimilation in other faiths mainly Hinduism and Islam
  11. High population density and lack of agricultural land is India's main problem especially when very large population is dependent on agriculture.May be India's resources are enough for simple living, but it can never match the standard of western countries. Also democracy has its own problems. For example building infrastructure require time but people want instant things. One of the prime reason for congress's defeat and Badal's victory was free electricity was not provided to farmers by congress.Free electricity badly hurts economy and kill long term projects because of financial impact of it.so people need instant gains and all Governments whether it is central or state prefer these type of incentive's rather than building long term policies.
  12. Its true a punjabi father may not like it but still a lot of sikh Girls are marrying outside religion and their parents do accept it if they are not very hardcore jatts or Strict sikhs. But with muslims we all know how extreme they could go if their Girls marry outside religion. In India it is one of the main reason they don't allow their daughters to educate at higher level. Also in case of muslim their men freely marry non muslim women and raise Muslim kids so there is only one way traffic while in other religions we can say that both men and women marry outside faith. The exceptions are only muslims What you said about Britain is also true for India and except Muslim and christians we may not see other religions especially sikhs.Punjabified hinduised sikhs who will go to Gurdwara's ,Dera's and mandirs is the future of sikh community in India if we look at broader level.
  13. To be honest I partially agree with the statement. When there is multiculturalism then muslim kids will expose to many things which muslim society in General not like it.Like some of muslim may become athiests, may start worshipping idols.Their girls could start dating and marrying non muslim boys.To be honest how many muslims are ok with the fact that there daughter marry a non muslim boy LIke a Hindu or sikh? If I am not wrong countries like malayasia who project them as Liberal muslim countries have outlawed muslim women marrying non muslims. This shows that how much tolerance liberal muslim societies have
  14. You can indirectly say that democracy is not for overpopulated poor countries with not much resources
  15. Oh come on majority of regional politicians are corrupt Just take a round at rediff.com and all you will find is Indians fighting and making fun of Each Other especially showing each other communities that how corrupt your politicians are.Badal hardly even get mentioned in that list.
  16. Bhooliya ji Despite repeated appeals Urban middle class is not showing interest in Voting. They prefer only to cry about corrupt politicians and not to act.The case of Indian election was different this time. The image of Manmohan singh ,Charm of Rahul Gandhi did the trick for congress in Punjabi Area's.We cannot say that all Punjabi's voted for BJP's Punjabi candidate.Mayawati always used this tactics. She hardly give Tickets to poor Dalits and prefer rich people She knows that her own image is so powerful among Dalits that they will vote for her candidate irrespective of caste. I totally agree with you that media is a puppet of strong and mighty. But there are problems with. personal experiances. When we talk to different people they say different things .Many time people lie to hide their own weaknesses so unless we become surveyer ,personal experinaces could also be misleading Rajasthan state banned purchase of agriculture land not residential houses. The price of Agricultural land in Punjab is haryana is so high that hardly anybody could think of purchasing land.I don't think bhaiya's of UP Bihar are so rich that they can purchase land in Punjab so even if Punjab enact law not to purchase land by outsiders then it will not stop inflow of migrants.
  17. Bhooliya ji I think you confusing Migrant labour unrest with Ashutosh protest. They are different cases The only co incident was that sikh protest happened a day after labour unrest. As far voting rights are concerned ,according to Indian constituition anyone can migrate and vote in any part of country.also we have to look at number of migrants. http://www.merinews.com/article/migration-and-agricultural-development-in-punjab/15765078.shtml according to above there were 1.7 million migrants in Punjab in 2001 out of which 60% were from neighbouring states and 40% from UP and Bihar so I am assumming that at present there are only above 1 million UP bihari migrants. In a state of 25 million people 1- 1.5 million factor is not a such a big thing. They can play a role in votes but ultimately it will be locals that decide who will be the CM. Dual citizenship was something that I heard but I don't have much knowledge about it. I agree that they should not burn property and do voilent protests.Up bihari's are migrating in very large number to bombay and that is the main reason Parties like MNS and Raj Thackerey is growing. From past 2-3 years marathi goons are attacking them and they never protested even peacefully ,so is there any political party that is turning them voilent in Punjab ?
  18. DSG is lucky only rs.4000 .Corruption in India is way of Life.NRI's are also considered as moti murgiyaan for halal
  19. http://www.hindustantimes.com/News-Feed/newdelhi/L-G-to-decide-on-action-in-84-case/Article1-486616.aspx The government on Monday said it would advise the Lt Governor of Delhi to take a decision by month-end on the CBI application seeking permission for the prosecution of Congress leaders Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots cases. "We have advised the L-G to take the decision as early as possible…he must decide before the end of the month," Home Minister P Chidambaram informed the Rajya Sabha on Monday. Pacifying the agitated members during a Calling Attention Motion on the Sikh riots, he said L-G Tejendra Khanna is the "competent authority to take a decision" and not the Centre. "The CBI has completed investigation/reinvestigation of seven cases registered against Tytler, Kumar and Dharam Das Shastri (now dead). It has sought permission to prosecute the accused in four cases," said the minister. HT had earlier reported about the CBI having sought permission to prosecute Tytler and Kumar. Admitting "inaction" during the last 25 years, Chidambaram blamed it on legal hurdles and said a law should have been made to ensure that the guilty were not let off the hook. The action against Delhi Police personnel for dereliction of duty has been "most unsatisfactory," Chidambaram said, during a five-hour debate. "In the last 25 years, the delinquent persons who got away with no punishment is the police," he replied to a motion moved by independent MP Tarlochan Singh. Leader of Opposition Arun Jaitley said, "What happened in 1984 was not a 'riot'. It was a state-sponsored massacre of innocents. It was a revenge killing of thousands with the active connivance of the state." He said 300 people died in police firing during the Gujarat riots. "How many were injured or died in police firing during 1984 riots?" he asked. Shiromani Akali Dal Leader Naresh Gujral said his father I.K. Gujral and others had met then Home Minister Narasimha Rao and "begged him to call the Army". "The Army was not called. It just waited for permission, 20 kilometre on the outskirts of Delhi," he added. He asked the Home Minister to permit the CBI to prosecute all those named by the Nanavati Commission, which probed the 1984 riots, within three days. CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat said many persons killed were reported as missing and their families did not get any compensation. She said the Congress regime "lacked political will" during the riots. The then West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu had dared anyone who attacked the Sikh community in the state and therefore there was no riot, she said.
  20. I don't live in Punjab.I live in NCR region of Delhi Which is in Haryana. There are plenty of UP Bihari's here and they are treated very badly by Local Haryanavi's. These migrants can't even think of Hitting on women here or they get beaten badly by Locals. BTW Rural jatt sikhs are very deadly community how could anyone hit on their women? Also majority them barely cross 5-4 height and do not have good personality. If Punjab's women are having sex with them then they need to look at their character. They don't have anything neither money or personality that can attract a woman. If they are forcibily Raping women then sikh men should start wearing bangles because they can't even protect their women against these people. Also Its true that crime in UP bihar is High but what I have seen here is that majority of them are hard working people.
  21. The problem of UP bihar migrants is not restricted to Punjab only. With extreme poverty, hardly any development and large population they are forced to migrate to other states. Now the local vs outsider issue is everywhere. But there is another problem if these migrants go back to their native states then many Places will go paralised as Locals are now so much addicted to their cheap labour
  22. I think at present many parties are putting pressure on congress on 1984.Even in Liberhan report many parties attacked the report and congress for bailing out central govt of that time. The reason is simple BJP is now declining party and power of congress is increasing day by day which is a big threat for many regional parties as well as BJP .So Anything available against cong is being used
  23. Well sikhs are angry with Badal for recent Ashutosh incident .Already sikh bodies have asked to boycott Badal. So may be congress could try to win over sikhs. After all its all politics
  24. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/Sikh-bodies-call-for-boycott-of-CM-Badal/553765 In a meeting held at Gurdawara Kalgidhar Sahib today, various Sikh bodies have urged the community to boycott Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, holding him responsible for the December 5 clashes between Sikhs and police and allowing godman Ashutosh Maharaj, head of the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan, for organising a function in the city. R P Singh, spokesperson of the Kahan Keertani Jatha, said, “We have passed six resolutions and unanimously decided that Badal is responsible for the violence. He is also using his men to suppress the protest launched by Sikh bodies against him. We have issued a strict warning to them to stop working for Badal or else we will expose them before the Sikh community.” The bodies have also demanded martyr status for Darshan Singh, an auto-rickshaw driver, who had died of police firing in the Ludhiana violence. “We have demanded a CBI probe into the firing and requested the Punjab and Haryana High Court to order the state to register an FIR against BJP MLA Harish Bedi, his son Honey Bedi and police officers responsible for the firing,” added R P Singh. Ads by Google “Sikh institutions like the Akal Takht and SGPC are being ruled by corrupt politicians and we will launch a movement to purge these institutions. We have also called in support of the Sikh diaspora who have expressed their solidarity with us to sustain this movement at the international level,” he added. The bodies that participated in the meet included Tat Khalsa, Akhand Keertani Jatha, Dal Khalsa and Delhi Gurdwara Management Commitee and others.
