from my experience you can! i have prayed for some one very close to me that was ill, and by the grace of maharaj ji, they were healed. One thing you have to do is remember that sometimes you need to pray for a period of time. In Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Janam sakhi, he was questioned and in there maharaj ji stated that any one with problems should do 5 JapJi Sahib Paath's and day, with ardaas and guarenteed, their prayers will be answered. I havnt taken Khuda da Amrit, and it has worked for me, so why not anyone else? Any BrahmGyani's you speak to will also say that Ardaas from your heart is the most powerful ardaas becuase you have shaarda and love to whom you are praying to. You need to be confident when doing ardaas, even if you have 1% doubt in your ardaas, it wont happen. Sorry Mekhane'ch Jannat, i have to dis-agree with you there bro. why would our creator, our father, pita ji who put us on this earth and gave us life not grant us a wish for the betterment of someone else. your not asking for maya, but for akal purakh ji to put an end to the time of dukh for the individual that has been written for them to go through.

Thats great! Nayan, When guru maharaj came to this world, he was sent to spread the message of rightouseness, love, peace and abouve all truth. 'Back in the day' aswell as the mughals doing evil, people were getting involved in animal sacrifices, using kala ilm for the wrong reasons and people started to mis-use their bhagti, fir material things. the element of 'God' has been forgotten. And im not at all sayuing that the devtas are bad to worship. The devta's and devi's took sikhya from the guru's and shiva bhagwan bowed to guru nanak dev ji. Maa Parvati touched the feet of guru gobind singh ji when he started the khalsa, then guru gobind sing ji bowed to god. Be careful when you speak to pandits, from my experience, they will say that sikhism is a part of hinduism, it isnt in any way. Guru Gobind singh ji wrote verses like chandi charitra, chandi di vaar to remind sings tyo have courage and and bravery like the devi and devtas. A lot of pandits try and mis-lead people. There is only one god and one god only, stick by what your heart says. god bless mit

Good day all! I went to the gurudwara last night and was doing seva, cleaning up/brooming the floor and there was a giani there who i approached and asked for some Pashaad to take home for my family. Quite abruptly he said that im not a sikh if i havnt had amrit. I said to the giani that, i may not have had amrit, but i consider myself a child of the khalsa. He then went on about how the youth are going away from sikhi. i said to the the giani, who was very abrupt, that im not intereseted in the politics. I said to the giani that, i may cut my beard, but i get up in the morning and do my Japji Sahib, sukhmani sahib and shabaad hazaaray. the giani was stunned for some reason. Was he correct in saying that my prayers to god will not be answered if i dont take amrit. also, i questioned the giani (Please people do not take me wrong) the Guru's from Guru Nanak Dev Ji to sri guru tegh Bahadur Ji had not taken amrit, does that make them non-devotees of god? He gave me no reply and didnt say any thing. please can you shed some light on this please. Again, i dont mean to offend anyone.

in the Bramh Kavach, Chandi Charitra, chandi di vaar, was there not mantras that were related to Maha Kali, Chandi Etc? eventhough god was being praised in them aswell?

If we have a good amrit vela and our minds get the proper start, the rest of the day will go well guaranteed.Baba Naranjan Singh jee, Shiromani Kathakar of Patiala used to say: "According to the Shastras, the person who gets up before 3am and takes a bath for meditation has given, in charity, a donation equivalent to one 'maund' of gold for such a noble act. A person who gets up between 3am to 4am and takes a bath for meditation has given in charity, a donation equivalent to one 'maund' of silver. A person who gets up between 4am to 5am and takes a bath for meditation has given in charity, a donation equavlent to one 'maund' of milk. The actual benefit given by the Lord for Naam Simran, meditation and reading Gurbani during Amritvela cannot be described in words." pg. 208 A Ranglay Sajjan of the Jatha, Col Piara Singh jee used to say "Satguru jee himself takes the roll call of every Gursikh in the Amrit Vela Parade (naam abhyaas). That person who wants to meditate on Vahiguru must make it a daily habit to wake up at amrit vela. 15. It is not enough to just wake up at amrit vela, ishnaan and simran are also essential. 16. Those individuals who spend their nights lost in vices and evil and then sleep through amrit vela are destroying their own lives. 17. The way in which our minds can be attached to simran and baaNee at amrit vela is not possible at any other time. 18. All great saints, rishis, munis, bhagats and Gursikhs all have woken up at amrit vela. 19. That person's life is fruitful and worthwhile who wakes up every day at amrit vela and remembers Vahiguru. For centuries, Gursikhs have gotten up in the latter part of the night and called on their beloved. This has been a tradition amongst the Sikhs since the time of Guru Nanak. Why would we try to re-interpret amrit vela at this stage and what right do we have to do so? If someone wants to progress in Gurmat, then they should copy what the Guru and beloved Gursikhs do. Baba Gurbachan Singh Bhindranvale, Bhai Sahib Randheer Singh jee, Baba Nand Singh jee, Baba Attar Singh jee Mastuana, and countless other amazing Singhs all stressed the importance of keeping Amrit Vela ie. getting up in the last part of the night. Even more importantly, baaNee over and over tells the Sikh to get up in the last part of the night (I'll include just the parts of the shabads, but please look at the whole shabads) "Pichho raatee sadaRaa naam khasam kaa layh" "fareedhaa pichhal raath n jaagiouhi jeevadharro mueiouhi || jae thai rab visaariaa th rab n visariouhi ||107||" ma 4 || gur sathigur kaa jo sikh akhaaeae s bhalakae out(h) har naam dhhiaavai || oudham karae bhalakae parabhaathee eisanaan karae a(n)mrith sar naavai || oupadhaes guroo har har jap jaapai sabh kilavikh paap dhokh lehi jaavai || fir charrai dhivas gurabaanee gaavai behadhiaa out(h)adhiaa har naam dhhiaavai || jo saas giraas dhhiaaeae maeraa har har so gurasikh guroo man bhaavai || jis no dhaeiaal hovai maeraa suaamee this gurasikh guroo oupadhaes sunaavai || jan naanak dhhoorr ma(n)gai this gurasikh kee jo aap japai avareh naam japaavai ||2||" And countless other shabads make clear that a Sikh must get up in the last part of the night.

lately i havent been able to do my nitnem in the morning, due to work commitments, but have been getting up to do naam simram for about 5 mins on a morning. would i be doing anything wrong if i am unable to do my nitnem and do only naam simran. Thanks guys Mit!

What is the power and shakti of Nitnem, especially Japji Sahib And Jaap Sahib? the reason why he asked this was because he said muslims, hindu's, aswell as sikhs read this all over the world. About 1 month ago, i starting reading the Chandi Charitra from sri dasam granth sahib ji, and last night as i was reading it, i began to get a sweet taste in my mouth and the sides of my head were feeling as if something was pressing them together. I have been getting dreams of a cobra snake with a diamond/crown on its head. I dont feel scared, but i dont want to be doing any mis-pronounciation. also, when i do my paath with my eyes closed, the centre of my head starts to flicker and sends a shiver down my spine. I dont want to sound weird, but was looking for some guidence. Many thanks and god bless mit.

Jesus! Ok, they went to see this baba and there was quite a big sangat and he said that they are all penchods, budhus, kutay. He said that Guru gobind singh has done what no one has ever done. what shiva, bramah, vishnu couldn do in centuries, guru ji did in about 30 years. He was swearing at this one particular guy and hit him on the head with a stick and asked him to say 'Waheguru' out loud. And yes he has cured many people. For some reason he never takes money, throws gold malay in the fire that people give to him. he dont have or want anything. he was proper swearing in punjabi and said that people who bow down to anyone, other that Akal Purakh should go to hell, something like that. LoL!!! Not at all. My mate went to see one in india. Apparently they worship lord shiva and mahakaal bhairava. the aghori swore at my friend and the other people that went with him. The aghori lived in a little hut/house and was preaching about the guru's in hindi. just a bit confused thats all. the put money down for him and he then threw it in the that he was sitting near and then shouted obscenities to the family and told them to go.

Quick question. Who are aghori's and what do they actually do? are they followers of god???
