  1. Khalsa seems strongly associated with a militaristic/martial practices as ordained by dasmesh pita. One that overtly/physically states a Sikh identity. I'm not saying there aren't other Sikh identities but to me it seems as if Guru ji explicitly ordained Khalsa with additional political/military duties over just the spiritual aspect of Sikhi.

That being said, having the external but not really having the internal is pretty shabby and probably one of the greatest root causes of our decline.

I have heard this reasoning from a lot of Sikhs. But what the point of being economical successful, when the state can kill some 30,000 of your people in false police encounters, and do with no fear of national or international law? The Jews were very afluent in Germany yet were begging to save themselves from starvation due to the government they lived under.

Did you not see when jut pockets were about to get hurt (during the kishaan andolaan), peasants had absolutely no problem with welcoming haryani hindu jaats into the quom. The same lot who had murdered and raped countless Sikhs around 84. But apnay peasants were all in a forgiving mood for that when it suited them........lol

Did you not notice as well that India is excelling in tech and moving into arms manufacture whilst our lot have a made a rep for themselves for this:

I work with rural desis (on and off) probably more than all of you. I know what they are like. They aren't the sharpest tools in the box, and achieving your own rule when you're surrounded by more intelligent, highly hostile  and better resourced people is beginning to look like a fantasy or some sort of escapism rather than reality.

You LOVE to say/think I and others are simplistic!

    Maybe I was exaggerating?!

I know most Sikhs in India don't want it, for various reasons.

Some of the urban Sikhs however, do deserve to be treated with suspicion. They marry into Hindus and mix it with Sikhi and don't see themselves as niara. They also propagate many stereotypes about Sikhs (many are fat - not in a muscle + fat way that many pendus are; many of them drink; many of them wear embarrassing colored Pagris).  They also love to be in crowds supporting Indian cricket team.

Why are you always slow to stick up for Sikhs when there are pro-Hindutva members posting here?!

I hear what you're saying about the motapa, and cringe dress sense..........

We need balance. Otherwise we just look like narrow minded people who can't see other perspectives.  There are other economic reasons why people might see another vision forward.

Also, we can't be running that Abrahamic contortion of Sikhi. It is a niara panth, but to deny any connection to wider Indic culture seems mad to me? These people are potential Sikhs.

More than nine kilos of cocaine hidden in a cardboard box was also found in Rai’s car. Around two kilos of methylmethcathinone – also known by the street name of Meow Meow - was found in the garage of Rai’s home.

You have to give it to them, they definitely supplied a wide variety.........lol

  5. Actually met my first ever (open) convert the other week on a building site. He was my labourer and he was from a jut (or as they like to self-aggrandise it, a 'zamindaar' background).

He actually converted here, with his wife and daughter. The guy was a nice guy, I'm not saying anything bad about him. But it was weird, especially seeing him with a khanda tattoo and whatnot. What's ironic is that he was telling me about racist bullying from Irish bods in the previous site he worked at. I think the irony of him being bullied by his own fellow xtian brothers over race was lost on him.  I asked him if he was unhappy in Sikhi and he said no, and that he was previously known as a kuttarh. He just said that Rabh has put him where he wanted. Simples. He said his parents back home were cool about it.

Then I went to another site with loads of desi apnay, and briefly mentioned this - they didn't seem concerned. They've probably come across a lot more of it than me so are used to it I guess?

Those days of seeing a khanda tattoo and being able to safely assume the persons affiliation are gone.

I think you missed my point. Second and third gen UK Panjabis are not commonly.involved in crime. Many crimes by Panjabis in UK now seem to involve failed 'students' and 'asylum seekers' - these guys are not close to second or third gens born here

I think you're being a closeted puppoo again......I don't even know where to begin with your ill-informed stuff.

Just stop posting your shyte. Focus on academia or something.  Translate something. Anything but the clueless, off point stuff you're spouting these days. You're just making yourself look like you haven't got a clue about ground level realities.
