  1. Exactly neo, catering for the palate is taboo for a gursikh. Food is just for food. Nothing more!! Lalleshvari, so as to avoid any confusion (and prevent one liner assumptions, which alot of people tend to do) what did bhagat kabir ji mean when he said no fish, eggs, wine, hemp?? This one always makes me think...hmmmmmm..and then i end up putting the tuna back..snif snif
  2. Pardon my french, but if that website is authentic/contents, then !!""££"! me!!! Amazing. Had me kissing the screen! So how comes these items are spoken of (unlike guru jis shastars, etc which are openly exhibited)???? Is the whole topi thing a problem/for people to grasp?? Lalleshvari, on a different (but brief) note, did the gurus all have kesh??
  3. Im sure theres verses by bhai gurdas ji that i stumbled across in reference to the pagri, etc. Me try and find them; 'the guru granth sahib is the best of all portaits of the gurus'-(forgotten the writer oops)
  4. P.S-couldnt i continue reading bani maybe accompanied with a tape?? Doesnt that class as santiya?
  5. Ok sadh sangat ji, honest opinions from someone who needs the info, and fast!! Try and provide gurbani please (and lalleshvari, need ur input on this one, so please dont ignore!!) Theres a split in views in regards to bani and pronounciation. Some people say its the thought that counts i.e read as much gurbani as possible (guru knows ur intentions) but then theres some sikhs, who say u should have classes (santiya) and learn how to read gurbani propally. I came across a quote from gurbani from a damdami taksal website; and guru ji says reading his gurbani incorrectly is like breaking each of his limbs (which i dont want!) So, do i continue paath as im doing (with a few mistakes) or do i stop, replace it with naam simran, and learn how to read it 'propally' from someone??
  6. as kang, theres another singh friend of mine; his names ravinder. propa beautiful voice. infact theres quite a few kirtanis who are behind closed doors who could really 'rock' the kirtan scene, but they choose not to. but good points as kang. totally agree with u; if u dnt like it, close ur ears!!
  7. Middle east paintings would depict that image; after all they want guru nanak dev ji to be a muslim pir, and not the guru of the sikhs.
  8. Whilst i totally agree with ur point tableji, and lalleshvari paji (ur name always hurts my fingers singh-u had to be akward with ur username init ) i still think kirtan is kirtan..and if x person expresses his love for waheguru in x way..then so be it. How boring the world would be if we were all the same..and did things the same..hunah cough cough *sgpc*
  9. Cavemen=yeh they did. Are u a caveman?? Do u need meat living in the west?? Also bani tells us to eat little; theres even a shabad where guru nanak dev ji maharaj talks about lentils and rice (kishari) being the ultimate meal. If ur warrior, then go meat crazy. If not, then allow flesh!
  10. scientifically wood doesnt remove ur hair. plastic and other materials cause some kinda charge which pulls ur hair out hence u turn into a boldilox. use wood!
  11. moderator singh; u taken my flag too! everyones teeefing my idea nayheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. Well lets hope not..it'll just put muslims in even worse regards than they are now. More to the point, as relegious people, because of terrorist activities/inhumane actions, we will all be paying the price. Not good.
  13. awareness. taking the guru to those people who cant access the guru
  14. thank u kind sir..pm me please singh, but i notice ur from malaysia..isnt that a trek?
  15. LOL. well if there is such plans, then let me know immortality crew! im free!! wahooooooooooooo
  16. Good point singh. Havent read the rest..whats this dicussion then?
  17. Yeah i know what ur saying. Maybe ur kinda right. But then again, some of the tracks are beautiful i.e navjot singhs track- cant remember the number (and yes its ghetto free!) wahoooooooooo
  18. P.S i do agree with ur point regarding social connotations of using hiphop music with dharmic geet. Neverless, i still think its a brilliant step for sikhs to realise that theres nothing wrong with western music and sikhi integrating. Snatan kaur is a prime example! There IS a shortage of ragis, however this doesnt then mean we should slag off these artists who are using what they know best, to talk about what they love most.
