  1. A clip of Nick Griffin saying eject Sikhs from the UK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_teopGVDk7A
  2. You're right, and it's not only Asians who notice this. Here are some interesting comments by a black guy on another forum (username "K R"): Its England, they've never hated anyone more than an asian. and: I always assumed it was a religious and cultural thing. On that front the white community is much more comfortable with the black as many black people are christian and raised under western values and culture - so on a basic level they get them more. Interesting thing is the hate seems to transcend even the ignorance and cultural under-exposure of working class whites into the more knowledgeable middle-class whites. A good amount of my friends are white middle class and the subtle, 'humouring' racism against the desi community is profound. Also white and black people in Britain mix relationship wise about 10x more so I just think there's a kind of indifference there. http://forums.ratedesi.com/showthread.php?t=287788 This guys friends sound like the closet racists you speak about. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to cultivate hostility in blacks towards Asians. I think the same. A while ago I read about a half-Sikh / half-white guy who joined the army who was continually verbally and physically attacked by a racist corporal and ended up with his eyeball hanging out after one attack. But this kind of thing is predictable. Sikhs should do as Hindus and Chinese do and focus on good education and employment.
  3. I watched it. The goings-on didn't surprise me. Does anyone remember the BBC documentary The Secret Policeman a few years ago about the racist police officers? All the police filmed had a special virulent hatred for Asians. It was pretty much all they talked about. Some even said that they didn't mind blacks but Asians - no way. There was an Asian trainee on the same course and he was pretty isolated (sitting alone at break times, complaints made about him, topic of negative discussions) and when the instructor announced that he had been taken off the course the entire class hoorayed. I've attached a full transcript of The Secret Policeman. bbc_transcript_secret_policeman.pdf
  4. dalsingh101 I share your sentiments. Every few months some celebrity says "Paki" and then a debate follows about whether it is acceptable and misleading arguments are put forth suggesting that it is just an abbreviation like "Aussie" rather than the racial slur for all South Asians. The p-word does seem to be somewhat acceptable. If Anton Du Beke had said to a half black woman "you look like a nigger" I'm certain that he'd have been dismissed regardless of any regret or apology he expressed afterwards. I couldn't imagine anyone saying it in the first place. The p-word is actually more offensive than the n-word in the UK. This is because the fact that there is a lot more hatred among whites in the UK for South Asians than there is for blacks. At the time of the Prince Harry p-word scandal I noticed a black guy making the same observation. He said that the English never hated anyone more than an Asian. He stressed that the racial malice is not just among the working class, and that a good number of his knowledgable middle class friends dislike the desi community. He spoke in terms of race too, so don't assume that it's a Muslim thing. I have also noticed a lot of animus expressed towards the boxer Amir Khan. By comparison black sportsmen like Lennox Lewis are quite popular. Many racists make excuses saying that Khan is cocky and arrogant even though he is quite down to earth compared to other boxers. Asians also seem to be victims of far more racist assaults and murders by whites than blacks are. Taxi drivers are a popular target. The casual use of the p-word and the excuses made for it compared to the taboo nature of the n-word are another indicator.
