  1. hehehehe its a shame there are no real life ones like this khalsa well. maybe they are hidden away.
  2. berry nais. erm....why does everyone say the sau sakheea have been changed, chopped around and added to?
  3. MR Singh Ummm, Its actually HARDER to find the time to do naam simran, seva, and paat when you have to be married and live a family life. So thats kinda wierd idea. If a person doesnt get married and lives by themselves, don't they have tonnes more time than married couples to do the simran etc?
  4. It distresses me that we all read shortened versions of banis. What is a person meant to do who wants to read the full versions?
  5. You know I am totally amazed. this verse "Ram raheem puran kuraan anek kahai mat ek na manio" I always thought meant: People believe in all these ways and talk about them yet the underlying teachings, the basics the mat (understanding) no one follows" Like I always thought Guru Ji is making us see sense, don't just SAY you follow something and read it and debate about it, REALLY ACTUALLY follow it otherwise theres no point, we will just be like those that had the chance to collect jewels but collected dung instead. (dung being our own ignorance which we will take with us when we die and scare the pants off everyone with our ugly faces) Anyway, life is too short to go on about other religions, I'm not really gonna change much am I? May as well concentrate on myself.
  6. So let me get this right. "sardar Jassa Singh Ahluwalia" was actually "akali Nihang Jassa Singh Ahluwalia" and he was a thurkan who took amrit and then was in a ramgharia missal. Or was he a ramhgaria missal. I don't know what that is. Ok. So its from here the Ramgharias (i always thought this was a caste) wanted to make themselves a caste, and made seperate Gurdware. Or its because they were never given authority in Gurdware which were very Jatt oriented and felt a need to make a Gurdwara where they would be in charge. Is that right? Its very strange. Drawof, so if someone is a Thurkan do they get seperated from the rest of the Amrit taking sangat (at budda dal) and get given seperate amrit? Is it still khande bata dha amrit?
  7. ok this is a really dumb question. Which castes are seen as "low" and which ones are seen as "high"? I genuinely don't know.
  8. although that gender link dynamic_bunda posted is proper wierd.
  9. Am I the only person that thinks a dastaar does NOT make a woman look like a man. Is every man really that easily decieved? Think about back then when it wasnt the norm (Guru Jis times) from afar, those who obviously needed glasses probably thought, yo, heres a guy. Now, the absence of facial beard and the presence of slender/womanly figures cannot mean that girls with dastar look like men. I hate to say it but men arn't that good looking. Don't flatter yourselves. COME ON! When will everyone get off the bandwagon????
  10. lol. I'm the worst person to ask. I know next to nothing about weapons. ask narsingha!!!!
  11. naaaah those are baag nukhe. baag is the claw bit on its own. ie what u get in dumalle.
  12. iron bangle how big is that weapon? i was thinking more along the lines of a baag. is that what this is?
  13. well narsingha, what are your views on the topic at hand. This kung fu teacher is discriminating against shasterdhari Sikhs!
  14. Do you really want to learn from such a person? If i encountered this sort of attitude I would run far far away and thank my lucky stars God showed me what type of people they are. If a teacher such a coward then what is the worth of what he will teach you???? eh??
  15. "get married easier," the exact opposite i think.
  16. http://fcskali.tripod.com/filipinocombatsystems/id4.html the last pic on that page..on the right is soooooo cool. Imagine doing a kick like that! 8) http://fcskali.tripod.com/filipinocombatsystems/id21.html go girl!  (last pic)
  17. I am totally clueless as to what you just said there.
  18. ms514, I think your attitude is totally forceful. Quite frankly, who are you tell people to make up their mind about anything? I mean...honestly, Saihajleen just showed her humbleness in accepting what you said but since i don't have as much nimarta I thought I'd point it out. Just because other people will criticise, there is no need to rush people or force them into making a decision. If Saihajleen would tie a dastaar and see how it feels for a week, thats her decision.....if she ties it for a year and decides she'd rather not, thats her decision also...it has nothing to do with anyone else. she asked about people's first time tying a dastaar/pag She was asking about
  19. Its not so easy ms514 because I know of a girl who wore a dastaar for a while, but when she decided not to wear it any more akj girls told her she was doing "biadbee of the panth" That was very discouraging, and left the girl feeling sad that her sisters would say such a thing.
  20. lol this brings back memories I was in india this summer and it was boiling hot, but I couldnt start the day without a cold shower. The fresh...cool...shock to the system was really much much better than a warm/hot bath like my mum used to have. The only thing is...in England the prospect doesn't seem so refreshing when its black outside and its freezing in the house and bathroom...ah well..I've been inspired!
  21. I never heard the stiching part before. Didjn't Guru Ji refrain from showing miraces? I'm sure one of our Guru Ji's sons was told off for doing that. :?
  22. lol@shasterkovich. Saihajleen Kaur, dont' worry about people mistaking you for another religion, if thats what they want to do, then let them. It has no reflection on you, you can carry on being the one in the mauja (happiness) of Guru Ji's company. Don't let small things and judgements make you ashamed of the way you are. 8) Singhni, the skull protects the dasam duaar in ordinary people like me, but for those whose dasam duars are open, thus there is a softness or hole in the skull there, a turban such as the one u described would probably be right. The only problem is, nowadays no one ties their dastaar with topknot at dasam duaar area, the joora is now lower down for fashion purposes. The dastaar's practicality is being changed to make way for looking good.
