  1. this is an attempt to expose the privacy and data of the US citizens of California. If I was them I would go against it. It looks good but look at the underlying issues, transmitters all over the city, wireless access so that not one part of the city is unobserved. Wheres the privacy left in that?
  2. Lalleshvari, that is very very sad indeed.   Can I ask where you got your figures from? :?:
  3. "whereas woman incites and conducts violence (often in a passive-aggressive way) to select and reject sexual partners, and thereby gain dominion or control over the society created by man. " Sheesh.
  4. "Excision or female circumsision is a practice by which the clitoris is cut."  What in their eyes justifies them doing this? They must believe it does something. Basically in schools today the "hardest" (thus popular) guys are the ones with the rap/gang culture adopted, and from this stems the fact that the "popular" girls always go out with the "popular" guys. All the rest stems from here, to be popular you must listen to certain "in" music. Also wear certain clothes/labels, and act a certain way.  This behaviour almost everyone displays, from Sikh men tying certain styles of turbans to look cool, to wearing certain types of shasters/bana for the same reason. Or 'belonging' to one group or another. All these people crave a feeling of belonging, which I think is reasonable, but I'm not sure what should be done about it. Whatever it is, the education must start in primary school.
  5. Hari, to be honest what your're doing doesnt sound healthy, as to me it seems like the dream world is a place full of mysteries and if we try to control it we try to control something unof which we know nothing and might actually do ourselves less favour than we thought. If you control your dreams how will you allow Guru Sahibaans kirpa within your dream, if you are the biggest /invincible being in your dream how will you allow a space for vaheguru ji's presence? Many times I have heard that the subconscious gets its free time when we dream and I just think it might be possible for you to convince yourself and prefer that you are the one who creates others and cannot be destroyed. Such thoughts can only lead to a life of dissapointments. :? :?
  6. Khandeydhaar let me refresh your memory  "oh yea i agree wid N3O Singh abt 'Romeos'...cuz therez this guy at my gurdwara he keeps staring at me...its like if i go past him or am eatin langar and hes there, he's lookn...AHH its so damn scary...i dont know wat his prob is and hes monna and im like a dastar girl... wat should i do other than ignore... " That what I was referring to. 8)
  7. meaning the players lose in the end. so what does it matter?
  8. With all fairness Lalleshvari, gore and other races are hardly more warrior like....  in fact i would say the state of the world today is that even though the guys (even the so called warriors) are wimps, the other lot are not much better!
  9. lalleshvari, you will not believe this, but the quote "naam will sort out my enemies" the guy was actually talking about physical enemies, i.e he had no need for training of any physical sort because naam was going to sort them out for him. He then went on to say that if people had naam God would destroy their enemies, and when I pressed him about women getting attacked, he didnt have an answer. Warriors I always believed were also there to protect the public, not just themselves!
  10. to me? but its not me u have to convince mr singh. try an experiment, get a non amritdhari girl to wear a kirpan to the gurdwara one day, see what happens.
  11. Mr Singh, i agree with you, women were blessed with kirpan. But everyone seems to say you have to be amritdhari to wear a kirpan. However kirpan is a last resort, its not if someone makes lewd and vulgar remarks and gets up too close, its if ur being attacked. :? However, thats where self defence comes in, our teacher says no one has the right to touch you anywhere and even in situations where someone would smack a girls bum, there are ways of making the person feel sorry without the use of a kirpan!
  12. I've found that Sikh men over here (esp the amritdhari ones though it pains me to say it) are kind of wimpy and cowardly. :? I'm sorry but this is with my own eyes I see this, the guys turn into some pacifist wannabe saints, and give answers like "God will protect me when I do ardas" or "naam will get rid of my enemies" "naam will save me in the end" well excuse me, sorry to be blunt, but whats the point of you being a warrior if you cant live up to it? i dont mean silly petty arguments and fights between yourselves, but actually sticking up for girls, and their rights to not being touched up, shouted/leered at, trapped, cornered, and in extreme cases raped/attacked. Come on girls, get yourselves down to your nearest Savya Rakhsha Akharra, and not for rehat, or other sikhi controversial issues, (because he doesnt talk about them in his class) but for pure, effective SELF DEFENCE. If our Sikh men won't stick up for us, we'll sort the dodgers out for ourselves!
  13. shasterkovich. u are overestimating the talents of sikh men. and underestimating women!
  14. I think the fallen bit means submission.
  15. mugz....if your exercising the body, why not exercise the face as well? There is a book available for all those interested in firming up their face. By an american woman.
  16. Another tip: ignore whatever advice shasterkovich doles out.
  17. oooh ooh also when eating fruits and vegetables try to get organic ones, (not pumped with hormones and pesticides) and when doing thurka to sabhjee or dahl, do it with olive oil. Also pleanty of tomatoes, ginger, garlic should be added to the thurka... In winter have tea laced with ginger and sonff. Easy on the sonff and almonds in summer though... And when I eat, as a general rule I don't drink water one hour before or after a meal but have a little bit of warm water halfway through my meal. (i think this is aruyvedic) In the morning have a massive glass of warm water with 25ml of pure unrefined aloe vera juice. remember breakfast 1 hour after this.
  18. well you mentioned vegetarian and balanced diet in the same sentence, and I do believe it can be done..for a girl that is but i don't know about a guy...u probably just have to eat more. most folks make the mistake of trying to cut out fat from their diet, but actually I believe fat is a friend and the real enemy is sugar...and stress. No matter what you eat, if you suffer from stress it will all have an impact on your digestive system, your immune system and your brain (cortisol) and sugar is empty..devoid of minerals unless you use pure unrefined sugar. (very dark brown..almost black in colour) 8) I have almonds that have been soaked in water overnight, and these can be peeled and eaten or peeled and crushed , mixed with milk and drunk like that or with a slight buttery thurka done for extreme mental benefits (i have been told). theres good omega oils in there i think but with it have sunflower seeds, linseeds (or flaxseeds) and some other nuts. Contrary to popular belief..girls these will not make you put on weight. Tofu/soya chunks cooked like a sabhjee and with lots of vegetables will be more protein too, and I never use low fat or ordinary margerines, if I'm going to use fat (i rarely do) I use organic butter, ie on toast. Toast is either seeded batch, or wholemeal bread (fibre). however a good breakfast is porridge oats. Thats when i can be bothered to have breakfast. umm, I'm not perfect i got my bad habits, but to try to eat well is the goal. Lots of semi skimmed milk, fruits (in a drink via juicer is the best way to eat these) and every day have roti with sabhjee or dahl. Its surprisingly good for you and tasty!!
