  1. Ragmalla has been an issue since the 1800s not just an AKJ thing. Gyani Ditt Singh didnt believe in Ragmalla I believe. And BTW there are birs without Ragmalla in it, and one extremely old bir without Ragmalla was destroyed in 84. The Damdama Bir which Guru Gobind Singh bowed to is no longer here today. It was destroyed in Ahmad Shah Abdalis time, I believe, correct me if Im wrong. Dont get me wrong, Im not anti Ragmalla, but I still havent seen any real, propa, clear cut evidence either way. Anti evidence is "its not accurate, its part of a love story". If I can see the original Kaam Kandhlan story and it doesnt have Ragmalla, then I will believe in it. Pro Ragmalla say "the Ragmalla wasnt in the earliest birs". Hopefully Im going to see the Kartarpuri Bir this summer, I will have a close examination of it if I'm allowed Yes, it is a problem that the Panth do not do their research. I did a lot of research on subjects of Ragmalla and Keski, and I still havent got a clear cut answer!
  2. I think it comes down to what you want your life to be. You can either believe there is a God, and due to the divinity of the Gurus, and hte evidence of divinity in Guru Granth Sahib, follow Sikhi 100percent. Take it the whole way, take amrit, and do naam jaap 24/7. You will start reaping the benefits of Naam Raas after about 1-2yrs after amrit if you prepare properly. Then you can call yourself a true Sikh. True, you wont get the short term kicks from late nite clubbing, booze, etc, but if you take your Sikhi path seriously then the satisfaction and undescribable joy will be much higher. Or, you can say screw it, there isnt a God, this is my life and there is nothing else. If your gonna take that route, come on, you might as well go the whole way. Live a bit - try alcohol, drugs, after all life is short! Go to every week to parties and clubs, get with loads of guys/girls, etc. If you truly think that Sikhi will not affect where you go after this life, then honestly you should do that. But after 20-30 years youll be old, and suddenly youll wish that maybe you took a different turn in life. Your life feels probably feels a bit empty now - many modern western people go thru the midlife crisis thing or at least a mild version of it, and youll wish maybe you rethought everything earlier on. Thats just my opinion, Im just sayin, either take one path, or the other, theres no point going halfway. What does tick me off is people who do bad stuff (drink, cut hair, couldnt care about paath) but then claim themselves to be Sikh, go to Gurdwara, and proudly talk of their "sikh pride". Whats the point?????
  3. at the moment i wake up at 6.30 but over summer its gonna be 1 or 2
  4. nice story! .......or the simple way is, just leave it alone from the beginning!
  5. i find it sad how people will go to such lengths, and confuse others, to try and justify their messed up ideas. let me just clarify, the following are not allowed removal of any hair, waxing, plucking, biting, sanding, (lol) whatever other imaginative ways u can think of. bleaching or dying of any hair tatoos piercings if u cant keep your rehit, dont call yourself a sikh, simple. like i sed before, sikhism is not a system that u can work around because u think girls look prettier when they have triangular eyebrows instead of natural ones. personally i think plucked eyebrows look butters anyway. u either accept all of sikhi or none.
  6. wait wait wait wait im confused guru nanak said this???? is there an original script of it???? or has someone just made it up???? it doesnt sound like a very guru nanak thing to say "all unbelievers will be destroyed". i am very, very cynical.....where were these predictions found and by who????????? confused-ness.
  7. where can i learn more about sarbloh granth (and dont just say sarbloh.info, i mean more than that......like any sections on the net) does it give like superghettoultrapermanent bir raas? what are the predictions? skafe
  8. i dont have split ends (im a boy). comb your hair twice a day. wear a keski. use oil and wash your hair thoroughly and w/ conditioner or whatever. people just need to chill about split ends or whatever......i mean u shudnt be able to see htem anyway in a bun or keski...... when you die, your hair wont go with you. but your soul, and a list of your actions and the meanings behind them will. you might worry about how many boys or girls u can pull now, but by western standards we will all be butters (ugly) in 20 years time anyway LOL!
  9. hmmmm this doesnt explain the peculiar numbering system the fact that "alam" had this in a love story before guruji compiled SGGS the fact that bhai randhir singh could not find any "raas" in it in his experiment and that akal takht went through a period of not reciting it and a few birs dont have ragmalla personally, now i am neither pro or anti ragmalla. im still waiting for clear cut evidence.
  10. the reasons behind doing it make it even less ok so either way its forbidden! the "hairless" thing has only come around recently.....they didnt worri about it if they had a few hairs "out of place" back in gurus day....but hey its kalyug
  11. yep, u can be religious and hav cut hair, but you are not a sikh of guruji until you keep your hair and take amrit.........till then we are all technically patits or sehajdharis
  12. wot does kesh mean in sanskrit i know hajamat is removal of hair and thats one of hte 4 h's (kurehits)
  13. wot r u lot chattin about firstly its panjabi culture not sikhism and secondly boys and girls get waaaaaaaaay too much freedom here in uk sikh girls have a bad reputaiton for being loose and easy, partying and drinkin all the time....whilest the muslim girls have to stay at home or whatever.....where r the parents? and then the sikh guys with they beer in one hand, drivin the souped up ford with the other hand, bhangra being blasted out of the boombox lol....where r the parents? modern sikhs get WAAAAAAAY too much freedom!!
  14. dont forget that muslims also have a huge numbers of rituals - praying to kabaah, sacrificing animals. no religion has hte right to have itself wiped off earth, and i would say that at the time in india, your average hindu was much likely to get salvation than your average muslim!
  15. 1. the word saint shouldnt really be used. only reserved for those such as gurus, ive decided now. 2. there arent a huge number of really strict sikh girls at the moment. take the number of amritdhari keski wearing ladies and the number of amritdhari men, theres a huge difference. therefore it isnt suprising that there are less spiritually advanced women then men. on vaisakhi 1699 all the panj who stood up were men. why? women could have offered their head but they didnt. thats life......maybe if u want more gurmukh bibis then u shud aim to be one of them
  16. lol where i come from pakis get pimped by all......n by sikhs dont stereotype all of them tho.....alot r really safe.......like they r PROPA respectful of real gursikhs......wont eat meat/smoke infront of them etc.....thats wat a real moslem shud b (sheikh fareed style)
  17. read akal ustat.....all the paradoxical questions will make u feel as clear as mud lol nah seriously, god is infinitely generous, anything we do bad, we get back as karma.....so its our own fault! as said before, NO ONE can hope to describe god.
  18. undergroundsikhi where exactly r ur classes?
  19. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVYYYYYYYYYY IM GOIN!!!!!!!!!!!! forget thai boxing.....im doin this!!! is niddar singh gonna teach it? o yeah and do u actually have 2 do that chatka n weed stuff.....or do u just have to allow it???? so when u do "pure self defence"......that will be stuff in shastar vidiya right....just not the really funky stuff.....it wont be some watered down karate or judo lol yeh?
  20. im 16. most the real gursikhs i no want girls to wear keskis. its mostly the akhand keertanee jatha ladies who keep the keski tradition going. now im not blaming girls, but there are definately less gursikh girls then gursikh boys. there are lots of reasons for this tho
  21. guru gobind singh had a hawk. that munched alot of meat. but guruji was vegetarian.
  22. do u know any classeses near london? where else r they? where does niddar singh teach>?
  23. the simplest explanation is - guru gobind singh said only marry a sikh. its also in a number of rehtnamas and is part of the reht maryada. it is forbidden to marry a hindu or muslim or christian. traditionally anand karaj could not go ahead unless both people were gursikh.
