The ghar instruction which appears in some shabds in Gurbani refers to greh (home note) - as per pre-medieval Indian musical written tradition. The ghar over-rides the vaadi or King note in a raag - in the same way as when a guest visits a family the guest takes priority over even the breadwinner of the household.
