Reading Bani Without Understanding?

A few questions i have on my mind hopefully some people can clear my doubts.

Is there any point in reading bani if you don't understand what is being said?

Are there any benefits in reading without understanding?

If Yes what are the benefits?

Gurbani works in many different ways, and on many levels, it works whether or not we understand it. I know of young children and non-Sikhs who don't understand a word but were cured of disease or had other problems solved by listening to Gurbani. Even a deaf person benefits from Gurbani and kirtan.

Even the walls of the room become pure, and water becomes Amrit by listening to Gurbani.

On a conscious level, then we do need to understand what Guru Ji is saying so we can implement the teachings.
