Kamai?

Recommended Posts

How does kamai work? Say we do paath, sewa hence bhagati this increases our spirtual merit but by doing paap do we loose that kamai. We are subject to paap, we are subject to loosing the experience of naam and power of God; such as Guru Nanak had his experience all the time. Are we expected to reach a stage like Guru Nanaks where we are enlightened beings ourselves? How do we attain salvation- do we die in the state of prayer?

If we do more paath but just do paap how do we progress forward and what is the end of the journey? Do we end up reincarnating in more richer households- i.e. come back as Christians?

I remember someone on this forum said we inherit certain paap from our family lineage (maybe why hindus believed strongly in caste system) and then from our past lifes? What is the soul in this case and its relation to the body please could someone expand on this,

kamai is earned through seeva simran and santsangat. it is kept through keeping rahit. it is lost through indulgence in vikaars. to reach the end point requires a great deal of kamai. in each life, at some point, we pick up where we left off. the storehouse of karma is burned up by kamai, but some karams have to be experienced no matter what. in each janam, a chunk of good karm is used up and manifests in good things we have, like house, family, good opportunities, and a chunk of bad karm. next janam, we may have it as easy, maybe easier, or maybe waaaaaaaaaaay worse dependiing on our karams. once those good karam 'chunks' are gone, they're gone. our life, and the last thought at the moment of death, determine our next life. in the end, guru ji choooses to grant us mukti (and beyond). all gains are to be looked at as his grace.

our ultimate aim is to become enlightened (one with god, a bhramgiani) but remain in Guru ji's charan. basically, not be selfish, be His. mukti is a small thing in front of this.

Where would someone like Lord Krishna who attained mukhti but lost it stand are they to be given mercy on death and given mukhti or would they come back. Sach Khand is where formless god is and we become one with him, so does one assume the other states of heavens to be on this earth to be experienced so we may be reborn in a better household. And what are the signs of mukhti? from other schools of thought they would say it is where you have no more thoughts and light pours out of your face- such as that hallo on Guru Nanak. If such is the case how does one see such a true Sikh of the Guru and have his darshan?

Does praying for mercy after indulging in vikhars bring you back to the same state of kamai as before or more, does maharaj forgive you for paaps and give you more kamai or is it add and minus and add again. And does the soul carry on forever reincarnating and getting another chance or will at some stage the universe be destroyed with our souls.. Would you describe sach khand as a death like nirvana were we are one with God and we who we are is now fully dead or do we live and our form can return and have divine properties. I remeber someone saying sleep is a mini form of death so we experience what we may feel, does that imply that if i wake up every day rough im living in hell where as a child i would wake up fresh and enjoy the day.
