His katha is based on his personal experiences not through book reading.The thing with listening to Katha is that if you do not follow the teachings or try to inculcate them in your daily life, it will lose its effect in long run. The real benefit comes when after listening one tries to follow it in practical life. When I was 18, I used to listen to katha by Giani Thakur Singh ji, 3-4 hours on end, it did make a difference esp with my Santhya. Although I still have not been able to follow the things that he used to mention like :100s paths of Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Anand SahibPaths of Chaupai for getting darshan of Guru Gobind Singh JI1.25 Lakh repetition of Moolmantar, 36 lakh repetition of Moolmantar, Sava Lakh Jap of Japji SahibPaths of Chandi di var, or Shastar Naam Mala or Brahm Kavach, Jaap of Guru Gayatri Mantra5 paths Sukhmani everyday for 5 years Edited July 19, 2015 by Ragmaala 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

For those of us who feels like santhiya is an issue, just listen to Giani Thakur Singh gurbani diction, because we learn saying but first listening and then imitating.
