Like holding pen which is going to be quite awkward. With back pain, the target site is muscular and larger, therefore something with wider electrode pads is more effective. I would recommend a combination of muscle stimulator and tens machine such as "Twin-Stim" this is TENS and EMS. Also very effective is IF machines (interferentials) ..
